Hi I decided to make a copy of my small hand plane I had. and this new little wooden hand plane appeared. I think I will love this tool. I will use a 41mm blade that I bought. Please refer to the video descriptions to download the PDF file containing the dimensions. The blade will be positioned at an angle of 23 degrees. After marking the hard wood in my hand, I cut it with my bench saw. These pieces will form the front and back of hand plane. I sand the cut pieces in miter manner with my disk sander. Next is to make the right and left cheeks of hand plane. I cut two pieces of 8mm thickness. See PDF for dimensions. I cut the parts I drew with a band saw. I attached the right and left side parts to each other with double-sided tape. I make some correction with the disk sander. I sand the clamping piece a little. Our hand blade will be created this way I mark where the insert nut will enter. I drill a nut length with a 9mm bit. For this, I use the new drill press. It is very easy to make a height-adjustable hole! First, I insert the insert nut into the hole and then remove it to apply epoxy. Before I apply the glue, I draw the side pieces so that I can align correctly. I use the mounting glue You can also use epoxy if you wish. I stick the pieces together so that there is 7mm in between and I wait for them to dry. I used my own clamps to fix, You can find the video on my channel. After drying, I check the hand plane. I check if there are any problems. I sand the front and back a bit on the disc sander. I drill a 6mm wide hole for the bolt. A clean hole! I drill the tip of a 20mm piece of plywood. I bury the M6 bolt in this hole. This will be our compression knob. I make holes in a hard piece of wood for the round handle. I am sanding this part in the disc sander. After attaching this piece to the drill press, I give the proper shape using the rasp I open a 5mm hole so that it does not come out of the wood. This is important! After gluing the holding knob, I fix it in place with a thick wood screw. DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! I make a cover on it to make our compression button look more beautiful. I shape the button cover with sandpaper. Hand sanding is always more precise :) I soften the corners and edges with a rasp. I sand the clamping piece and hand plane on a plain sandpaper. my camera did not record, I could not show sanding the bottom and sides of the hand plane. Sorry. I apply Teak oil before installing the hand plane. This will give him protection. It takes a nice look with hard wood Teak oil. INSTALLATION It is enough for the blade tip to come out a little. I correct the inclination to the right or left by tapping with a hammer. I chose a hard wood for my first try! Some fine tuning is needed... It works better now. It will be very useful for soften or ovalize the edges. Now I'm testing my new hand plane with softer wood. Look at this! it was extremely smooth. Would you like to make this hand plane too? Please write your thoughts in the comments. Like the video? Thanks for watching. BEST REGARDS...
