thank you hey guys Scott here for the mental mental Channel and mentalmetaldetecting.com and today we have the Manticore in front of you here and we're going to talk about this is our third session for beginners Manticore for beginners this will be session number three the first couple sessions focused on getting your machine set up going through showing how the noise cancel picking your search profile and so forth this video is going to show you the 2D map display I feel like folks need to understand what this thing is telling you in order for you to understand and take full advantage of the Manticore so I want to go over this pretty thoroughly here today just to kind of give you an idea what you should be seeing and how to interpret what is on the screen so what I've done here is in the video I've cut out some cardboard and I've actually taped some things on the core but like this one's going to be a nail and a Merc dime and we're going to kind of run through you know some of these scenarios where you know what does the 2D map look like in these scenarios and then I'm going to show you how to raise and lower your Ferris limits here's another we're going to do two coins um so we're going to do a lot of a lot of little comparisons here not not to really show the you know what the difference is between the um coins and so forth on the cardboard but just to show you on the screen what the painted map looks like when you see these kind of targets and how to interpret them so what I'm going to do first is I'm going to walk you through on the menu just show you where I have what where I have things set up right now I'm in my garage so the recovery or the sensitivity is at 18. so we're going to leave it there because it's very quiet so we'll go into our settings a volume speaker volume is 21 nothing really new there search modes we're going to leave it an all-terrain General now I have changed the ferrous limits a little bit just to show you an example of how to increase the ferris limits to knock out a Target so right now I'm going to leave the first elements where they are my noise cancel we don't need to do that word here so that's basically recovery speed of eight I raised that up I think it was down to five or six I'm raising it up for you know this test just because I've got things close together here on the cardboard so I want to make sure it sees all that all right so let's go back so what I want to kind of go over is let me get a pointer here and and talk about what you see on the screen there right now if you if you turn off the Horseshoe you basically will white out everything and basically you're accepting everything that comes in the machine you're going to hear it when you turn on the Horseshoe though um you basically have these gray areas and I'll Point them on the side on the top at the bottom and then you notice in the middle this is your high conductor line and what that is basically going to show you is basically your um this will be your target Trace will show up in the in this 2D map Target Trace means wherever the target's hitting it's going to trace to it it's going to show you where it is on the screen and I'll go over that here in a minute now these bars uh these sections of gray are actually what you have rejected out that you will not hear when you have the Horseshoe turned off so if you turn it on and you allow everything in you're gonna basically you'll hear everything in these grayed out bars down at the bottom but if you if you turn on the Horseshoe um now these gray sections you will not hear a Target that hits one of those okay I want to make sure you guys understand there are Target or there are fairest boundaries so at the top where the gray goes this little skinny bar at the bottom of that bar all the way across is one of your fairest boundaries and at the bottom there's also a ferrous boundaries that you can you can adjust and to adjust those boundaries you actually go into your settings and you just keep going up until you get to Ferris limits so when you get in there you hit the edit button and you start out with your upper level Ferris limits and I have mine at two but if you actually increase that if you notice that bar will actually get thicker so I think you can all go all the way down to 13 14 and then it changes takes it back to zero so I'm gonna leave mine I think at two for now just to kind of keep it simple and then if you want to change the lower you go in here go back in here and you go back down one arrow and that that puts you into the lower and you do the same thing with that you basically can raise it up lower it down wait right now we'll leave it we'll leave it at four sounds like Rocky's trying to get into the garage so hold on a second let's let him all right now what I want to also show you guys is that for every search profile your 2D map is going to change so let's go into the settings here let's go to your profile so right now I showed you what it looks like in general if you go over too fast and come back to your screen notice it looks similar but it's actually low these bars are kind of lower now and if you go back up and we'll change it to low conductors all-terrain and you can see the top bar is getting a little bit bigger sidebar perhaps I think this the top bar is actually bigger in this example let's go into the next one over High conductors looks similar in nature let's be a little different there let's do all-terrain trash reject and so that one looks significantly bigger so they're rejecting out a lot of the stuff that you would beat you would hit in the trash range they're they're actually discriminating that out for you and um that's a really interesting one let's go into the beach modes or the other settings and or the other search profiles Beach General just to give you an idea what that looks like so nothing too drastic there um let's go over to low conductors so the sidebar over here is a little skinnier top bar is a little thicker let's go one more over Beach deep so there you go for that one beet Surf and salt water or sea water so there's a little nuanced differences here and there to these but let's go over to uh Goldfield I wonder if this will be different The Machine's already making some noise Let's uh see what it looks like check that out there's hardly anything there's a little sliver of stuff at the bottom that's actually discriminated out but um big difference so there you go back to all terrain General and we're back to where we were so there you go all right so I just wanted to show you that for each search profile your 2D display will change a little bit your discrimination patterns will be a little bit different it just depends on your search mode all right so we'll leave it at two and four now for demonstration purposes so now we're back to our main screen here and we um what I want to do now and Rocky may make some noise in the background but let's just paint some pictures on the screen so you can see what they look like let's do the um let's do a large scent and a piece of foil three and a half inches across from each other and I put those on there because I know some people are going to say well how far apart are the targets we're not really testing through Target separation here but we're going to run this through just to see what the painted picture looks like and right now I have the Horseshoe off so or on I don't know what's considered on or off we're going to leave it on so we uh well let's turn it let's let's let everything in so you can see where everything's showing up and you can hear it on the 2D screen so a piece of foil and a large scent foil's hitting over here in the 30s the large sense hitting 97 all the way to the right so you're obviously going to hear both of those signals even if I turn off the Horseshoe you're still going to hear them because none of these signals are hitting the gray columns or or lines going across columns or the shaded areas so you're going to hear both of those targets now let's say for instance we have a nail in a Merc dime five inches apart let's see what they sound like [Laughter] so you're actually hearing the nail and you're here in the Merc time when you're seeing it on the screen occasionally you'll see that 50 signal pop up but it is painting both of them on the 2D this display now it's kind of not coming in because it's kind of hitting half on that top gray bar which is your iron your ferrous limits and it's kind of being you know cut off a little bit so let's what if we wanted to go in there and just cut that out completely well this is where you go into your Ferris limit so let's scroll up to our Ferris limits we already we stopped we were in there before so it came back to where we were let's hit edit and we are at the we're in the lowest we want to go to the top so we're at the upper now we can do is we can increase that a little bit I'll just increase it to let's say eight and see if that knocks it out so the idea behind this is if you're in a situation where you're getting a lot of ferrous targets and you know kind of what you're what you're seeing or hearing on the screen you can potentially knock these targets out so you don't hear them but you're not removing the good high conductor so here's that same iron and coin scenario again where you run it across you're still seeing the nail get painted but but you don't hear it you're just hearing the dime but you can see where it is it's still getting painted on the screen now if we turn the Horseshoe back on or it's allowing everything then you'd hear both you can hear the iron I don't know if you can hear it but but what we did essentially is we you know by raising the limits of the top ferrous bar we've essentially cut that nail out but it's still going to show you and the other thing I'll show you too on this 2D screen if you turn off the Horseshoe enable and let everything in when you get an iron signal like you're seeing in the screen here like 5756 you get a a red bar underneath the indicating Ferris so that's pretty cool but that's only when you have the all metal mode enabled [Music] so that's pretty cool now let's go back to a couple other scenarios here here's the foil in the large tent again just so you can see it still painting the ferris and the foil on the same high conductor line and that's at three and a half inches apart again this is all Air test so we take it with a grain of salt here is a Washington silver quarter and a shield nickel at two and a half inches apart so the nickel is going to hit like 28 something like that I believe that's what it should be yeah 27 28. I get it right on the coil here of course the quarter is going to hit High but it's painting that on the on the screen pretty good so that's really it in a nutshell on the 2D map I wanted you guys understand how to adjust that a little bit so remember by going into your settings you have the ferris limits you can edit it you can pick the upper region and adjust that or you can pick the lower region and adjust that too so something's hitting low that you don't want to hear you could essentially knock it out as well now there's another feature you can really control the targets and Target IDs and things like that that is going to be another video this is just strictly focusing on the 2D map display and the ferrous limits okay so I don't want to get too ahead of ourselves here but I just wanted you guys to know a little bit more about this 2D map and what it's trying to tell you and what's getting knocked out when you have the Horseshoe turned off but when you or I'm sorry when you have the Horseshoe turned on what's not going to be heard but what still will be seen and if you allow all metal mode you'll hear everything but it will still paint everything on the screen with for you and again if you run into some ferrous information Ferris targets like that nail you're gonna get a red line underneath the number only when you're in all metal mode though okay so just keep that in mind when you are not in all metal mode and you hear a nail or run across the nail you are not going to see it or here you'll see it on the screen but you're not going to see an ID so that's one of the things it does when you have it grayed out all right well that's it for me in this video I hope this was useful if it was please hit the like button uh leave a comment I just try to run through a couple quick scenarios here just to give you more information on this 2D map and what it's trying to tell you so uh if you liked the video please hit that like button share and subscribe to the channel and again we'll see you in another mental metal video thank you [Music] all right
