minecraft was my childhood in 2011 Mojang had released a game that nobody and I mean nobody thought would blow up the idea was simple an open-world game where you could create anything that you desired it seemed to be a fun little game for you know about 30 minutes or so then they would get boring right well that was wrong horribly wrong the people who saw it as a simple game didn't know about all the little things that this game offered minecraft was simple at a first glance but complex at heart but how did this simple and basic game blow up why did it capture the hearts of many kids like me and why do many people call it the greatest game of all time we talked about this in today's video Minecraft first released to pcs in November of 2011 and saw immediate sales and loved the fact that you could have your own world and create seemingly anything was huge in 2011 with all the love came some requests people who heard of the game desperately wanted to play Minecraft on their game consoles PCs were very expensive compared to consoles so many people didn't even have a PC so what did Mojang do they made a whole new version of Minecraft ported it over and a month after the original release they released this amazing game for phones what this wasn't what people were asking for they said they wanted to play on consoles but phones too many people they were mad they wanted it to be on consoles but they released it on handheld devices like I said too many people it was not good but to me it was incredible in my case I did not know about Minecraft I had a Nintendo Wii and I was in love with games such as Mario Kart and black ops 1 so picture this it was a boring day and me and my family were planning to go on a road trip so I was on my iPad just looking at the app store trying to find some new games I could play on the way there I wanted some new games and when I tell you that I love video games believe me I actually was in with them they were the best thing in my life when I wasn't at home with my we I was really sad so I figured I needed some games that I could play without Wi-Fi on this trip I needed offline games because we weren't that rich family who purchased cars with built-in Wi-Fi but to me every single game that I thought was fun or looked interesting needed a Wi-Fi connection there was no good offline games it sucked that my iPad didn't have data I looked through games and found many candidates for me to download and then I proceeded to download them now my parents were not the type to spend money on the App Store they usually said that it was wasting money to buy games on your phone so I naturally looked through the free game section while I was looking through all sorts of games won game caught my young eyes and had me in love I hope you guys know what game I'm talking about Call of Duty mobile I'm kidding minecraft looking at the screenshots and the reviews I knew I had to get this game my imagination was amazing as a young kid and I couldn't wait to see what I could do with it in a whole world by myself Plus this game was offline everything was perfect to me except for the price tag everything I read about the game from the reviews to the screenshots to the about I loved until I checked the price $6.99 for a mobile game plus it didn't even have online capabilities seem like a ripoff to my parents and kind of a ripoff to me I thought it looked cool but 7 bucks for a mobile game at the time though I would have been happy if they bought me a game that was 99 cents so no I didn't get it but eventually I end up convincing them to buy me it I sold my Nintendo Wii in all of the games for this one $6 mobile game this is what I meant my minecraft was my childhood I sold everything that I ever loved for this iPad game and I hope that will get the love back and I did the game was just as I thought it would be endless fun and I could do whatever I wanted I obviously started in creative because who did it and I let my imagination go to work I built houses and cities and even though they looked horrible I took pride in them survival was another story I had to work for my blocks eat food replenish my hunger run away from zombies what was this I checked some tutorials on how to win survival mode and winter working I was on my iPad at all times these days YouTube was a savior for me and I searched up a whole bunch of minecraft tutorials and tried to learn how to play the game I learned how to mine from one of these tutorials and by the end of the video I was already a bedrock just then I saw something blue something that looked exotic and something that could be amazing so I mined it and weird blue things jumped out I said diamonds but it was lapis lazuli let's just say I hated lapis lazuli forever after that incident eventually I became a God at the game and kind of got bored of it there was new updates every once in a while but it was just bland to me I built everything that I wanted to and was done I honestly still think it's funny that I sold my Wii and 15 plus games for it for a 6 buck iPad game like the Wii was in his prime at the time and I sold it for Minecraft on my iPad what was I doing after it got boring I was just stuck to my iPad and the free games I had minecraft was the only game that I ever paid for my parents were not going to spend any more money that was until in 2013 I saw that this game had a new port to the consoles and now this game filled with new goodies and the sweetest feature of it all was that you could play with friends building my world was super fun already and the thought of building worlds with my best friends was going to make this game super fun again the Xbox 360 version released in May 2012 I had no consoles just my old and slow iPad I begged and begged to get an Xbox so I could play this game but my mom said don't you already have it on your iPad play it on the air I was bummed out but determined to get a console I didn't care how long I had to wait I was getting one all my friends played on the Xbox so naturally I wanted the Xbox more plus it wasn't even out on a ps3 Christmas was coming sooner than ever and I was ready to get my xbox that I've been dreaming to get for the past six months December 17th a week before the possibly greatest day of my life minecraft ps3 came out perfect timing right the thing was ps3s had free online play and that was huge to me there was no way I wanted my parents to pay another $60 on top of the 400 they were going to spend so I decided to go the lonely route have no friends and get the PlayStation 3 bye bye iPad the game was better than ever and I quickly got used to the controls as well as got some new friends to play with it was all coming together now I had a great console which I could play all my favorite childhood games on except for Mario Kart my focus between 2013 and 2015 was minecraft and another game Call of Duty but that soon changed I started to get into school more sports more and just hung out with friends more minecraft constantly had new updates and nice changes but I never had the time to play I lost interest and was not playing Minecraft basically at all everyone at school labelled a game as dumb and lame and obviously I didn't want to look like a dumb or lame kid so that made me quit too I sometimes played Call of Duty still though because that was cool in my school 2015 through 2017 the ps4 came my way I played Call of Duty hard as well as some sports games such as 2k + Madden minecraft ps4 was out would I care no way I was over that game peer pressure had changed my opinion on the game and I was determined to not ever talk or use that name again but that's when I found out about trolling minecraft was naturally cringy to me after everyone changed my views on it so I didn't want to watch it or have anything to do with it but what's better than watching someone make fun of someone and mess with them on a game that I used to love well there was nothing better than that unstoppable look Xbox addictions and mirth music these might be familiar names to you if you used to watch minecraft trolling videos these were some of my favorite trolling youtubers at the time these guys were amazing and it got me into something that I would enjoy so much these videos were so funny to me and I would be weak every time I'd watch them I would lay on my bed and just non-stop laugh at these funny videos regardless if they were making kids scream making fun of kids or burning down worlds I would be cracking up and I know how those kids felt but I didn't care it was my favorite thing to watch on all of YouTube unstoppable look was the best he would have the 30 minute videos of just funny moments while ruining kids hard work and he would add the subtitles and funny pictures and that's what really made it special I wanted to try to become a troll myself so when I would join in my friends worlds if they were playing with their friends that I didn't know I would try to grief them but it was just never the same as whenever youtubers did it the way that the youtubers would lie to the kids and try to regain their trust was impossible for me to do that was probably because I was a goofy little kid after my seventh grade year I stopped with Minecraft as a whole I found what everyone was talking about and it was dumb and stupid the game was for kids and just boring to me minecraft has changed so much these days minecraft has millions of created servers where you can play minigames and a whole bunch of super fun stuff never had that back in my day from a simple point-and-click game to a huge online paradise minecraft to me is the greatest game of all time now what about those youtubers I mentioned what happened to them Merc music is his channel so alive how about unstoppable ugh what about Xbox addictions I'm pretty sure that everyone got bored of minecraft trolling just like I did so it's gonna be pretty weird to see how their channels are doing today unstoppable look who was my favorite trolling youtuber has 800,000 subs that's a lot and that seems really good right well the bad thing is he hasn't posted in over one year how about Xbox addictions I remember he was on every single community channel back then and his videos were some of the best holy crap he has over three million subscribers and he gets a lot of views per video it looks like he's switched over to a fortnight content I'm really curious to see what happened to Merc music he has 4 million subscribers but only gets around 200k to 400k a video that's not bad at all it's just weird to me I feel like if you have 4 million subscribers you should at least get around like 800 K or something views but 200k is not bad to me it's surprising to see two out of the three youtubers still going that's really nice to know and kind of sad that my favorite hasn't posted in a year in conclusion minecraft was simply my whole childhood and was a huge part of my life I can assure you that most people watching this right now can agree with me this simple but complex game touched all of our hearts and will definitely go down as one of the greatest games of all time and that's not just thanks for watching this video if you did enjoy it go ahead click on my profile picture and go ahead and subscribe I mean why don't you want to see entertaining videos and your subscription feed I mean why wouldn't you want to do it and if any of the videos on the screen look interesting why not click
