Millers Girl - Pretentious and lackluster

hey guys Amora here and today we talking about this movie I was intrigued about to watch because it had Jan Ortega um sort of a movie Crush I have but also because I actually enjoy a lot of the content she has been in as her range as an actor has been great from projects she's been in that I've enjoyed like Wednesday the Fallout and X thinks of my favorite content she's she has been and the newest project she has released is called Miller's girl a young writer Cairo who was played by Jen Ortega who takes a class about writing with a teacher Jonathan Miller played by Martin Freeman who impresses him having read the book he wrote but clearly no one has paid attention really since then because he gave up pretty much on writing and was married and became a teacher CYO has to write a piece of her portfolio as she wants to go to Yale University and Winnie kyo's friend tells her to experience the excitement but teacher student Affair such as she intends to do with a school's gym teacher Boris who is also Miller's Mr Miller's best friend seeing the connection between between Cairo and Miller weenie suggests to seduce Mr Miller and this is where the the controversy of this movie comes in because it's a teacher student relationship although in this story she is 18 at this point ready to go to college this movie goes back and forth on whether they actually hook up but only goes as far as a kiss in the throughout the movie this is what really was the major big climax of the movie as she writes a story between two characters um from what she experienced after the kiss that Mr Miller reads and it pretty much gets described as uh 50 Shades of Gray esque of a time that happens in that story she makes and with that Mr Miller sort of uh denies that story because of how highly inappropriate it is for him to even advocate for a grading to publish and so Cairo gets mad and sends the story straight to the principal which eventually suspends Mr Miller and by the end of the movie they goat court and for this movie generally I I did like some moments you know of this movie The acting was adequate it was professional between the main actors that with a bit of minor sexual content they had it was tame so it wasn't so overly exposing explicit in any way which I think was the right balance to the the movie was trying to portray and it kept on stick it stuck to the story but with sticking to the story the writing was all right had good quotes to think about throughout right but and overall the dialogue was just all right really didn't move the needle how exceptional could have been or how bad it it was it just was kind of me by the end of it and besides the moments between the two main characters the scenes between them throughout the movie like the ones the scenes they have in the classroom or when they go out on their own outside of school which is it gets in far in between um not really much happens it's scks really boring and really a lackluster to the importance of the story overall and it just kind of rambles on on its own and kind of just a waste of potential that actually could have been a better movie cuz it was shot well as well and it didn't help it even with the good acting that um this this movie had but do I recommend this movie um sure if you're a fan of the actors who are in this movie I think uh you'll appreciate at least their acting because they did try in this one it was good if you're uncomfortable with what this movie message was as a story guess not but also it's not so overtly as sexual as you think it might be you know it's besides that one moment we hear and sort of see but besides that really if you have the time to just watch a movie here and while you're doing something because it was sort of it was pretty boring it was pretty boring but with good writing but boring uh that's all I could really say and so for this I'd give it a five out of 10 as a movie but you're down to watch a sort of interesting story um and you like Jen Ortega like I did sure go ahead uh but not uh it's not something to prioritize anyways that's it and thank you until next time Amore out
