hi guys in this tutorial I'm going to show you how to add additional feature to your mikrotik rotor and the good thing about mikrotik is that the OS is designed in packages for each package contain a particular feature set so you could choose number of packages that are executed on a on a rotor so if you have a rotor that is low on resource you could actually use limited packages on it based on what you are using it for Oh to get the packages you need to go to marketing website go to software and based on the type of rotor that you have you need to choose the appropriate package type so these are the different package type so my rotor falls within this type and I'm going to download the current version so the current version usually the stable release so we're going to download this one I'm going to download the extra packages so the extra packages contain all the packages for for the rotor do you need to save that so I'm going to save this to my disk so alright then you need to extract the file let us see what's inside so these are all the packages that are available and if you want to know what each package does you can go to the wiki page this is a wiki page you can go there and there's a list of all the packages and the features that exist within it and so now I'm going to show you how to install a package onto your router so you need to open wind box and connect your router then go to system packages alright so these are the packages that that are available Marotta so say for instance my rotor does not wireless the wireless package so this rotor comes with wireless feature but the package is not there so different I want to install a wireless enable a wireless feature all I need to do is to drag this package over to your router and it will copy the file here in the file list so it works is that this package gets installed when the rotor is rebooted so when the pull over Wireless and to another package so NTP so say for instance we want to set up ah a time server just going to pull that over to the router we don't need to pull it over into the window alright so we're going to reboot the router no click click on system reboot yes and Europe rotor will be reboot you know so give it about 30 seconds and then try and connect to it again so we're going to reconnect to the rotor so now you'll see where the wireless package and NTP package has been installed so now we are seeing where the wireless option is non visible here so now we can actually configure Wi-Fi on this rotor that is all you add additional features to your rotor and there are more packages so you can actually read you can read the wiki page and if any of these packages more features that you need you can install it so that's all for this tutorial and thanks for watching and stay tuned for more tutorial like this [Music]
