hello welcome to the mid-south p.m. diamond buying video in this video we are going to show you the process of how we buy diamonds once one of your parcels hits one of our buyers desks the first thing we do is open up the parcel and check it against the packing list if there are multiple Lots within the parcel will price them each separately in order to establish the price we can bid on your Mele first we need to figure out what is inside of it we do this by weighing the entire lot to discover its total weight [Applause] next we are going to sieve the Mele down into multiple size brackets we sieve them down into once to seven pointers eight to fourteen pointers fifteen to twenty two pointers quarters and thirds [Applause] in order to establish a price we do a quality sort of the diamonds for each of the size brackets to determine their average per carat price in example here is a lot of ones to seven pointers [Music] we break this down into different piles by quality while picking out any CDs we find within the lot each of the piles receives a price based upon the quality of the diamonds after pricing out the individual piles we add the totals together and divide by our total carat weight this gives us the average per carat price for this size bracket lots heavier with more high-quality diamonds will command higher prices than Lots containing heavier amounts of lower quality diamonds we do this for each of the individual size brackets until we hit stones that are 40 points or larger any stones that are 40 points are larger we will grade in price individually we record the weight shape color clarity cut great and whether or not the stone has any chips or fluorescence we use a combination of all these characteristics to determine an individual price for the stone once we are done grading the stone we priced it using our price charts that can be found either in our brochure or online at our website wwlp.com by clicking the diamond buyers worksheet page from there the prices are broken down into separate price brackets based on individual pricing for carat weight color clarity and cut grade using the stone from earlier as an example first I go to the point eighty two point 89 carat size bracket I look on the side for the F color and then follow it across until it meets with the vs2 column due to the good cut grade I deduct ten percent from the list price and then multiply it by the weight to find the total price for the stone please note the prices listed are for round brilliant cut fancy cuts like this pear shape go for around 45% less than rounds after we have finished this process we will call you with a detailed breakdown of our offer thank you for taking the time to watch this video if you have any questions please give us a call our phone number is
