Micro Fishing Challenge at the Creek!

what do you got buddy hey look at there what's up guys this is daniel from arms family homestead i'm here with houston and jacoby and these two boys and i are gonna be doing a little micro fishing challenge in the creek today check out these fishing poles they've got man all right those are some big old fishing poles buddy yeah it goes from from my feet all the way from my feet to here yep so we went to academy the other day with jacoby and he picked up him a little micro fishing pole houston's got one i i pumped up to just like a regular ultra light but before we get to fishing i want to lure okay so i think let's see what kind of lures do you all want to start off with you got lots to choose from over here um i'm kind of i was kind of thinking of a rooster tail but instead of that we got these so we could start off with a rooster tail and we got some really small crank baits here uh we've got some little teeny tiny jigs that you could use you want a jig kobe wants a jig i don't know why he wants a jig isn't that what you were fishing with the other day when you out fish houston yeah it was a little different color jig wouldn't it yeah all right so jacoby decided he wanted to start out with a little white jig little teeny tiny jig and houston went with a good old trusty oh lightning it's terrible a good old trusty uh rooster tail so all right boys the competition now i don't think is to see who can catch the biggest fish i think it's the smallest fish right yeah all right let's see it i'll give you guys a head start in this video y'all before i come show you how it's done beating the shade down at the creek sure feels good fella get out of the water i'd get away from that rope swing if i was you houston you're gonna end up with a hook in the rope swing right off the bat what is it a baby back oh oh you saw him and he swam right at it there's two of them right there kobe will come over here and show you how it's done won't you buddy yeah oh he has one oh oh copy got one kobe's got one that ain't the best yes it is it's a small mouth bass that's far enough kobe don't reel him up all the way hey i don't know if that quiet counts as micro but he's a little bitty guy yeah bella so like the perfect snack size for you hey yeah where'd your fish go we didn't get a picture with it or anything all right kobe's up one to nothing over houston we know who the bass fisherman is in the bunch it's me in case y'all were wondering i'm the bass fisherman hey what'd you just say i think it's jimmy houston what no no this is my channel not jimmy houston's channel what are you talking about willis there he is there's that little bass right there i don't know if he shows up on camera or not but i can see him you ought to be able to get him houston there you go that's good real keep it up on top and reel gotta get their attention yeah it kind of is go no it's kind of not to me it is you know this is just one of those things that that i grew up doing as a kid we'd come down here any friends i could find to come over we'd come down here to the creek and we'd have we called them perch master tournaments you know kind of making a play on bassmasters and we'd see who catch the most perch which we call bluegill and green sunfish they're all perched to us but um we would walk miles up and down this creek probably with a little bigger fishing pole than what these boys are using today but they wanted to try a micro fishing challenge so uh why turn that down it's a hot day let's get in the creek and play what do you got buddy hey look at there it's big i thought we were doing the tiniest what are you doing catching big bluegill not meaning to dad oh all right would you calm down i feel like i'm pretty calm not you fish that was curious she wants to know what you got got it got it let's see it hold that fish up hold up that monster that thing is pretty maybe someday it'll be a creek monster huh yeah you're gonna let it go oh look at that part right there oh you're throwing rocks just let it go guys he came right at you daddy i got another one guys two for one two for one what do you mean two for one two and kobe's one oh it's two to one i got you bella you better get back you don't need those hooks in you kobe yeah you better pick up the pace you're gonna get out fished you want some pliers oh yeah didn't see those thing those are weird pliers where you're finding that well it's two to one houston's got two bluegill now houston threw over on the bank it looks like jacoby's got one smallmouth bass i think the smallmouth should count for more than them little bluegill though i don't know what do you think kobe yeah now kobe threw over on the bank hey you boys both of you threw plum over on the bank look at all this creek we got to fish and both of y'alls over there tree fishing houston gave me his pole hey he's gonna go get it well it makes it fair at least what are these like holes from oh beavers snakes swamp swilligans all kinds of different stuff 48 pound catfish no i'm just making that part up bella came to help you i thought y'all were fishing not swimming what's the deal houston hang on bella's tangled up in the line now three four three oh houston got a big green sunfish hey that fish hadn't been hiding under your feet because you just almost caught him right in front of you you know that yeah that's a pretty good-sized green sunfish but let's eat it bro let's eat it let's eat it i'm not even joking let's eat it i know you're not joking everybody everybody watching this video knows you're not joking let's just eat it look at that monster i thought this was micro you keep trying to catch big fish well this is for you jimmy houston though just swim right over it kobe what's up man you're falling behind it's three to one now and i just kissed the fish well i'm already at three hey so we never told them what the competition was so what are we what's the competition how we know who wins okay first one to 50 or what first one of five wins a dollar a dollar and i guess i'm the one that's got to pay that dollar yes oh come on kobe i'm rooting for you buddy catch a big old bass i want to see you bend that little rod over sideways all right i saw a big green sunfish right up there see if you can get him to [Applause] bite come on kobe you're up man you're due whoa tree limb oh oh my gosh there was two rock there you just barely missed it in houston i mean jacoby's fishing up in the trees what are you doing way up there again got it you're good at getting in the trees kobe's trying to give you every chance he can to win houston he outfished you so bad the other day i think you feel sorry for you today oh i knew it i watched that you caught him right in front of you he was chasing it you watched him that's a good job houston i watched you now that one counts as a dollar you need pliers i already got four that's four you ain't got the five yet boy my name is and i'm going to win this challenge don't you just let harrison go harrison isn't that what you said no i said my name is houston oh houston oh kobe got one that's two oh what do you got keep reeling boy don't let it go slack what do you got a little bitty sunfish look at there coby's got two it's four to two now and i have four let me hold that you can take his hook out houston's not gonna waste any time he's gonna take advantage of kobe trying to get that hook out of his mouth oh i got one oh what do you got it's pulling drag uh oh kobe is huge look at that that's the biggest one of the day houston i got a dollar in my pocket hey i just don't think you understand micro fishing challenge all right fellas looks like houston made it to five first although he didn't quite understand micro fish he's supposed to be catching little ones in houston trying to catch big ones but i guess first one to five wins and houston won you're gonna let him go right here all right boys i'm sweating i want to go get my fishing pole on fish too all right so i'll let the boys have their little competition this is a little uh it's a h2o express tiny a four foot six inch ultra light with a little spinning reel on it and while i said they were they were micro fishing they would not be able to cast a jig this small i think this is a 32nd of an ounce i don't know tiny tiny tiny little jig we'll see what we can catch on that guy that lost your hat yeah there's something floating over there in the creek y'all see that yeah i wonder what that is there is oh that's chilly there's something over here in the creek that's dead looks like a dead animal watch out move i want to see what it is uh it looks like a dead raccoon to me a dead raccoon in our swimming hole that's nasty yeah i wonder what happened to it oh that does not look like a wrap yeah i think it's a raccoon it's pretty rotten and nasty let's get it out of here get out of that tree [Applause] look at that here first gas over there bella [Applause] first cast over there a little green sunfish [Applause] dropping pool in the water oh got another one another green sunfish [Applause] i could do this all day guys [Music] two [Music] so there's our micro fishing challenge for the day you know as much as i absolutely love fishing fishing is just one of those things for me it takes me back to my childhood it takes me back to when my dad was around and that was one of his passions but i absolutely love don't get me wrong i love catching a big old bass and i have a ton of fun going down to the gulf of mexico and catching red snapper or red fish or trigger fish whatever it is in the salt water there's something magical down there but i'm telling you what there's something special that i just can't explain about doing this with two little boys in this creek and i just want to challenge you out there watching whether you're 10 years old or 90 years old grab a fishing pole and go fishing take somebody else with you that doesn't have all the opportunities that you do you may not live on a creek like this you may not have a you know a place like this to go go find a spot but i guarantee you there's somebody around that you know that would love to go fishing with you that would really benefit from it [Music] these two boys are special friends they spend a lot of time together and and that's that's so special to me i absolutely enjoy what i get to do i'm so blown away by the opportunities that that youtube and facebook has opened up for my families that that we can come down here and do this every day if we want to and we get to help other people out and you know there's a jim rohn quote that says if you just help enough people get what they want you'll always have what you want and i may have to do a whole video on that someday i listen to a ton of audio books but i'm telling you what if you'll just help enough people get what they want you'll always have what you want you know what that means houston no it's kind of like the golden rule you know what the golden rule is do you remember that from school do unto others as you would have them do unto you i don't think i ever had that rule you never had that rule in your school i don't think so i bet you did um i got a question okay what is it can i go rope swing now uh yeah that sounds like a great plan i'm sweating we're gonna cut out the fishing and do a little swimming we got to get things cleaned up down here because emily is having a birthday down here but it's not her birthday it was like three months ago so emily didn't get to have a birthday party because of all the virus stuff so her and another friend nick you guys have seen nick on this channel are kind of partnering up and having a party together and they're actually they decided to have a old-fashioned creek party down here you know everybody nowadays has pool parties and in the old days people gathered at the creek like this because it was 100 degrees and they didn't have air conditioners so this was an old gathering spot and i guess we're just kind of bringing that back so no more fishing today huh in my birthday i think i'm gonna have it right there oh you wanna you wanna have a birthday down here for your rope swing party yeah so everybody can come fall off the rope swing so anyways that was our uh micro fishing challenge of the day kobe yeah you let me down buddy i just thought you were gonna win i just knew kobe was gonna win but somebody decided to pull one out of their hat and catch a few fish today i wonder [Music] me [Music] hmm [Music]
