Micro Camper Van Tour: VW Caddy Maxi Conversion Revealed!

[Music] thank you [Music] wow [Music] foreign [Music] she's finally done uh yeah it has taken quite a lot of time the van actually need a bit of work done so it's got a new clutch and flywheel now uh yeah that was a nice surprise but she's done let's take you on a van tour let me show you around let's go ahead and look at the kitchen first of all look at that slowly going backwards all right thought of that I've got a little latch there so she doesn't move yeah you've got your sink put your washing up in there you can just empty that and then a little one ring burner and then this space I thought for like a uh sort of water storage little container there and then storage all underneath here and then once that's all folded away plates and bowls underneath there it's yeah I'm really happy with how that worked out and the hinges just work absolutely great proper away slide her in right the other bit of storage I'll show you around here one drop more than enough storage for going away for the weekend or a long week uh just got some curtain ties for this lovely black thermal blinds it on each side they just tuck nicely down into little foot space behind the wheels okay last bit of storage is this masterpiece already happy with how this turned out just went for a simple little gate look gate latch we'll call it and uh yeah holds away lovely and then I put some bungee cords along here to stop anything falling out there's a nice bit of storage down here as well yeah you've got loads of room in here oh this is the uh cut out mattress this one's lovely I'll tell you what's better than mop head oh that's nice the floor is the old gym matin or garage matin which obviously for bit damages you can just cut and replace it with a new one but it's really nice and hardware and I've got it muddy already because it's filthy out there and uh of course a bit of light in here still okay I know why it doesn't work anymore I'll fix that and then we've got the old knitting storage on the doors and as you saw two in there it's bloody brilliant yeah I want to take out and test it but I don't know if I have the time before I sell it uh right let's go on to the important thing which is power um if you've watched this build series you notice I haven't run any cables Leisure batteries DC to DC solar I've run none of that and you've probably already seen why I brought this uh renergy Phoenix power bank solar generator whatever you want to call it the power bank uh I've actually I've actually had this for two three months um just kept it in Kevlar the big van and just use it for like laptops so I can get three and a half charges from my laptop just off that and that would last me four or five days um so it's a great bit of kit but we need a way of charging it I thought of that as well right with caddies and caddy Maxis you have a nice little bulkhead in the front so I decided to use a storage for another renergy project another renergie product yep uh is there folding solar panel kits um probably this one is the 80 watt and I'll show you in here it's just a little fold out solar panel with some hooks in the corner that's what I decided to do was make these little hooks up to go in here and hook on to the roof rack and I'll show you this now there you go so this can hook on this side of the van look on the other side of the van it can hook this roller a little even hook on the front of the van to rest in on the bulkhead up here it doesn't matter where you park you don't have to keep on turning the van around you just move this around which is a lot easier and you can obviously just open your door put it in close the door it doesn't damage the cable because you've got the rubber there I like it so if we look at this guy we've got some lovely Blue Sky over there right so then we've got some clouds coming over you've got class coming over this isn't going to work very well is it so what I decided to do was to buy a teeny tiny pure sine wave inverter 300 watts and this basically tucks down here I've just brought it out to show you uh yeah plug the charger in for the power bank and then in the front there is an extension lead I'll show you it now so this is the extension lid and it just has a little switch right there and that runs obviously all the way to the back which is I don't just plug it into there and with the engine running so let's just say you're driving to your next spot switch that on in the front this is all plugged in and tucked away and it will charge the power bank as you drive so it kind of acts as like a DC to DC really doesn't it so yeah they're a solar there is a DC to DC so yeah I think I think there's plenty of battery for this little micro camper for a nice long week weekend just been sitting here for a bit and it's just lovely I'm just parked up on my common land and just listening to the birds the wind a bit of sun green grass flowers coming back on the trees feels real good and this is why people need Little Getaway vans but I think I'm going to sit here for a little bit longer try to relax a bit yeah thank you all for watching I really hope you've enjoyed this little build series the next
