there's one the toss the deep mass Melvin Anderson who's an averaging almost 25 yards for return for the Golden Gophers this year doing the booting for Michigan Rick sukkah winds kick some barefoot I'm a one-yard line Anderson 20-yard line was made by Tim Mitchell Anderson brought it back 17 yards but the Michigan kicking team did their job tackling him inside the 20 yard line bill Minnesota gets a chance to see what they can do against this Michigan defense Ricky foggy David Park Valdes Baylor and the hair starting at the flanker spot today Mel Anderson this would end an affront good sized rectum Villa burn Hitchcock volkov Poppins and Starks lou holtz on the sidelines hoping that he can steer his team to an upset one of the few times he'll be standing still first out of the 17 yard line [Music] and again this to the first man through the full-back David Hutton across the 20-yard line two about the 22 Mike Mallory number 42 who is part of Indiana coach Phil Mallory making the tackle and here's a look at the individuals who make up this outstanding Michigan defense mr. Harris Hammerstein star Sully Mallory bowler acres and rivers in the backfield second down five yards to go for the first down [Music] gave it to the pullback David puck he got it out to about the 24 yard line about three yards shy of the first down Mike Hammerstein Billy Harris making the stop for the Wolverines the plan of attack looks like to me to hand the ball straight off to the fullback Michigan's defense has good maneuverability so what the plan of attack will be early is to go right straight at those defensive linemen and maybe pick up a couple of first downs then they can maneuver off of that and fake to the full-back and run the quarterback option after a two yard gain a third down and three [Applause] the 24-yard line they bear in motion 35 yard line before Tony get made the stuff so Michigan should be great in fridge but for this Minnesota office at pucks third carry already he's got 18 yards last 111 yards sock a senior from the Cedar Rapids Iowa six for 216 pounds right ahead right at that Michigan defense Marc crisper first down at the 35 yard line this is wide left [Music] marry couch in motion [Music] again it's the full-back David Puck about two yards before Hammerstein made the stop it's like Gary puckered our David Park excuse me is going to be a workhorse today that is unless they start carrying that and start faking it to the full-back and that's what I think they're gonna look like looks like they're going to do and that's why Ricky foggy can make those big plays so all of a sudden they get to the full-back and throw the pass long down fields of now enters to their big Kevin start so far Minnesota's been running out of the I formation out of the wishbone while here [Music] keeping pitching the banner Baner out to the 40 for the 45 [Music] for the 49-yard line Mike Mallory and Brad Cochran finally made the stop that's another first down for the DeSoto and a 10-yard keen on that quarterback option just as we said he's going to fake it now right into the full-back what's the full-back David tuck into the line he fakes it and he goes down the line of scrimmage a great pitch out to Baylor and Baylor up the field for a 10 yard gain good blocking downfield to 5ml Anderson the first down at the Minnesota 49 just underway [Music] none of the gaya formation [Music] by Ricky Bobby [Music] we'll dive ahead for a couple yards getting across the 58 of a 49-yard line my camera Stein number 66 making the stop for the Wolverine well that was well played by the Michigan defense there they were crossed charging to the short side of the field and Hammerstein gist was able to stop Ricky foggy for nothing and he couldn't pitch it out to his halfback Valdez Baylor so they had to settle for one long in out second down and nine the ball right at midfield [Music] go back Roselle Richardson and Richardson got it down to about the 46 yard line it'll be fair down and six Andy molar making the stop for Michigan Richardson's a big kid he's a freshman he hasn't played very much and here he comes off the field picked up Priya for us we're starting out already now these third down planes are very very big plays in a game like this especially when we think it's going to be our defensive back the ball just inside the 46 yard line there comes out wide left [Music] riki foggy Mike Hammerstein broke through ah he didn't have a chance it was known under him off of that line of scrimmage I thought definitely he was off-site watch how quick Hammerstein comes off the line of scrimmage blitz that the offensive players and tackle Brittany foggy before he's even even got a chance to move away from the center Adam Kelly in to do the punting now for Minnesota I thought for sure he was off that that's quickness Eric Campbell is the deep man for Michigan standing at his own 10 yard line good rush but the punt gotten away by Kelly down to the 8 yard line Sambora across the 15 the 27 yard line and that's where the Wolverines will put the ball in play the tackle was made by a rich read so Michigan gets the ball for the first time this afternoon they'll put it in play on their own 26-yard line will be right I thought for sure we would see a yellow flag on the field of Pete a 42 yard kicked by Kelly a 19-yard return by Campbell the Michigan starts out on their own 27 yard line decent field position the quarterback is Jim Harbaugh the running backs behind him are Gerald white and daily laws [Music] to the tailback Jamie Morris he didn't get much maybe a yard before Steve Thompson big number 96 made the tackle for Minnesota Morris a sophomore early five seven hundred seventy-five pounds out of a year Massachusetts there's a look at the rest of the Michigan backfield and receivers fine quarterback Jim Harbaugh and a very big team up front tremendous size beginning with John Elliott who's six seven 255 pounds and they call him the quick tackle John Vitelli 6-1 277 [Music] Oh on second down he dumps it off to Jamie Mars Mars looking for he's out the midfield and down he goes inside the 40-yard line a great run after the catch there by Jamie Morris and John Vitelli number 67 made the opening block right in front of Jamie Moore they had a screen out to the right Jimmy Harbaugh went back threw it out to Jamie Moore and that good block sprung them loose but that great quickness now what's the quick run to block out there there's a good block by by Kelly and not watching change speed changes to his position and he's going down the sideline some good blocks out in front of him and Jamie Morris has the first town in a 35 yard game first down 36 yard line of Minnesota [Applause] [Music] gives to the fullback Gerald white white gets it down to the 30-yard line a gain of about six yards weary jointer number 20 who's listed as a defensive end but plays more of an outside linebacker type of position there's a look at the rest of the defensive line Kristofferson who's also listed in the defensive end also more like an outside linebacker they're the two guys in the middle material at home to hear their names a lot and they're good ones second down four yards to go after the six yard gain [Music] the day mr. white right up the middle he goes for a first down at the 25-yard line looks like a first down for the University of Michigan in position now for the field goal Bruce home Larry Joyner making the stop so the Wolverines advancing the ball very impressively in their first possession we have a player down in the field it's a Michigan player looks like it might be the full-back Durrell white I think it is Gerald white these are I thought seems to be might have gotten the wind knocked out of them I am Bruce Holmes seemed like they were sort of stuck together down there maybe they hit each other so hard that they couldn't get him apart they had a nice big number 88 get over them areas that's why there that's why they're playing down on the ground I think he did get the women together hopefully first down at the 25-yard line [Applause] [Music] barbar pitching to mars maras accelerating across the 20 inside the 15 yard line he's got another first down Christopherson making the stop for Minnesota and some good blocking up front by Eric Campbell and the full-back Gerald white and John co-star right out there in front watch these blocks out front and little Jamie wait I mean Morris he he just finds his little hole there and it puts on the speed picks up 11 yards with a first down on the 14 yard line Bob Berryman is checked into the backfield now Jamie Morris gets arrest Merriman number 37 [Applause] [Music] they sure getting very impressive on their first possession here Donovan small finally making the stop there for Minnesota and again there's some great blocking up front you know those half backs and pull backs don't make those yards unless somebody's blocking up front form was a good block by Bob Merriman the last time and of course that offensive line that was a 10 yard game he's carried it three times now for 21 yards but they have two fullbacks in now just shy of the first down as they market inside the 5-yard line from the 4 yard line to the first half Perryman white and he's a know about the two yard line before Steve Thompson made the stop they maybe even give us forward motion to the one-yard line again good blocking up front nice hole for Gerald white picks up the four or five yards and you know how tough it gets down there don't you partner when you get inside that ten yard line what's that good blocking up front there you see that's a good hole for him to get down all the way to the one-yard line first and goal John Vitale big number 67 6-1 277 pounds really moved some people out of there he's referred to get first and goal at the 1 yard line [Music] very impressive drive by the Wolverines and flight takes it over from one yard out key play though by Jamie Morris here he goes over the top here goes white over the top six points for Michigan that key play I was talking about is the screen off to the right and Jamie Moore's picking up a lot of yards and getting it into into Minnesota territory without the extra point attempt by Mike Jillette [Music] and the Wolverines have taken a 7-nothing lead with six minutes 12 seconds remaining in quarter number one here at the Metrodome in Minneapolis [Music] here at Minneapolis Halse is a kid address and look like a little hole there he is as a kid he's growing younger and still a focal difference Malu host look-alike contest here at the dawn today that's the reason for all those folks who do resemble the Minnesota coach [Music] across the 22 about the 22 yard line that's where the Golden Gophers will put it in play well there's some good hitting going on down on this field even though Michigan was already impressive on that drive I am positive that this Minnesota team will not give up the least bit they got a great quarterback in Ricky puggy and they got some good receivers in Mel Anderson and a handy here and of course Vick Evan Starks that tight in for us what Michigan is hoping they hope to win here today and beat Ohio State next week loses a ball game in the next two weeks and those who can win there next to that send the ovary into the Oval woulda shoulda coulda - was shown yesterday Bobby still has it of a 30 yard line before Ivan Hicks thanks to Scott fine and Penn and there's a tailback spot and a good block by Andy here out there you know he was getting in the in the half backs way the defensive halfback to a bread Cochrane's way out there and there was just no way that he could get around him and that's how they picked up the six yard dandy here made it a flanker blocking how do you like that after the six yard game by Penn at second down and four at the 29 yard line [Music] the full-back David Puck punches it out across the 30 before mark mister number 60 brings him down for Michigan China put us down by a couple yards there's on the drive man he plays 73 yards 346 in a 1 yard touchdown run by white yeah this turtle walked right into the end zone when Michigan had the ball offensive in play on that drive was the pass to Jamie Morrison look 8 up 42 yards like Mallory being helped off the field shaken up on that last play he went off on his own dog so I think you'll be okay Tommy Schulte number 40 wasn't replacement in that middle middle linebacker spot he and Andy bowler will now take care of that middle line backing third and one they should go to seven nothing lead [Music] handle the pitch from Ricky foggy animal have recovered the fumble Andy Muller number 49 fell on the football and they made that break they tackled everybody they tackle Ricky funky they tackled the tailback logging stuff bumble and Michigan recovered in hit pens fumble on the 27 yard line Michigan first and ten there it is on the ground alert play by the Michigan defense so the Wolverines with an excellent chance to get some more points now just inside the Minnesota 27 that's what makes a good defense when you concern the ball over it's going to be very difficult for Minnesota if Michigan weapons to get very quickly [Music] [Applause] [Music] 20 down to the 18 yard line Kristofferson number 39 in on the tackle for Minnesota player Blaine do trail number 45 shaken up they left quarterback from the Golden Gophers and he's a good one he's got 47 tackles already this year looks like he's got a pinched nerve in his shoulder with 445 renewing in the first quarter Jerell right six carries so far for 33 yards he's moving the ball right up the field yeah we thought so much about the Michigan defense and everybody does talk about the Michigan defense but let's give us offensive they've come on offensively a lot stronger than a lot of people thought they would they sure have and you know the one thing I'm impressed with I haven't seen Michigan this year and neither have you the quickness that they come off of the line of scrimmage both offensively and defensively is unbelievable and of course the defense can't make penetration when they're getting hit that quickly Matt last carry an eight-yard gain by white short second down to [Music] I think he got porn up for the first down we'll see where they march the forward progress and while we watch that we'll pause five seconds for station identification it's not a first down I thought he head forward motion up a little bit farther but the referee says noop is on the 17 yard line it'll be third down and one [Music] to titans' have checked in there now for Michigan and the pullback have a double pullback offense now [Music] he's all over the top some good hitting by Minnesota but he looked like he got enough of the first down it'll be close to the 15-yard line Doug Miller Steve Thompson Anthony Birk fallin on the stop for the Gopher he's just a little extra effort here by Gerald white watch he doesn't see his hole so he just dives over for the first down and it's an important first down we look like we're going to measure but I believe that it will be a first down don't know bring the chains out here see if the Wolverines have a first down or whether they'll be in a position to try a field goal it looks like there has they have this bull elephant they uh it isn't Purcell [Music] there's bull elephant fact the other one was too tight in there were those big offensive linemen they just about can steamroll anybody so it's a first down at the 16 yard line three and a half minutes remaining first quarter Michigan on top seven nothing [Music] Cantus number 81 the kite in you know he's got seven touchdowns already this year so you gotta watch him down on the goal line marks out the signals together inside the 10-yard line down to about the eighth Donovan's small number 35 Anthony Birk number 95 making the tackle for Minnesota did you feel that get up here Wow so far today Michigan's been able to run the ball almost at will incredible big game the only other team that we saw do that this year was Michigan State of course they got a pretty good fair country tailback something they sure to Lorenzo white now leads the nation in rushing second down three the ball the 9 yard line like this is my looking for running a loss of about two yards on that play does Neil or Anthony Birk and I'm the stop for the Gophers girl white just couldn't make the block out here watch the full-back he misses the block and Davey was able to get outside but he go with birth and a host of other players macaco for a while now the noise not fooling around and they had a meeting last night about this and I was discussing I was discussing this matter with Jim Cameron Kimberling and he said I had three hours of meetings last night I don't want to talk about it anymore today I'm gonna make the decision what I have to one reason a lot of people say well why is it the noise such a factor in this stadium it's because of the dome any time you play in a John Stadium that noise just echoes off the roof it has no place to go that's right except back to it and of course the Minnesota band's trying to make that a factor when they play here in Minneapolis [Music] when you get the playoff he scores the Minnesota player is signaling to the crowds is flat down just a bit so they can play its Minnesota's responsibility [Music] control Jim Harbaugh Jr from Palo Alto California [Music] the boys they're great by the referee this could be a very long game reliable to be here till tomorrow well of course the fans once the fans get the idea that they're distracted the other team does keep enough all afternoon that's unfortunate because the crowd should not become a factor in the outcome of a football game you know this happened back in 1903 when Minnesota hi Michigan there were few minutes left in the came out of Hearst and they told the goalposts and he never did play that last two minutes in the football game way back to 1903 the Little Brown Jug rivalry and it's a tough one and once again Jim Harbaugh are not satisfied with all the noise the coaches on the Minnesota sidelines [Music] bars gonna try it again [Music] make himself heard [Music] to grow [Music] the incomplete pass will they get fourth down with a field goal situation might collect checks into the game [Applause] big play was made prior to that play when when Michigan could not pick up any yardage around left in what gave me more the Wallabies spotted at the 18-yard line this will be a 28-yard attempt I'm 14 at a party [Music] again by a score of 10 nothing with a minute a half remaining in the first quarter we'll be right back this is super football Saturday on Turner network television when someone talks about a satellite receiver system the first thing you probably think about is the antenna the reception plus would like to remind you that the most important part of the satellite receiver system is here the picture reception plus is one minute 29 seconds remaining in the first quarter the Wolverines of Michigan lead the Golden Gophers of Minnesota 10 nothing we'll be right back ready for the kickoff Rick sukkah wits the barefoot kicker for Michigan is happy to be playing indoors today would be - we had two inches of snow up here yesterday and there's no still coming down his goal here's the kickoff now an Anderson is back deep for Minnesota dick sails [Music] was made by Ken Mouton 11-yard returned in Michigan down there very quickly it was a great kick off into that right deep corner and if they weren't able to bring it out and get it into any position it and you know Minnesota has not really started in good field position and then when they did have good field position Michigan stopped them on a third down plane they had the punch ball looks like Melvin Anderson got banged up a little on that tackle [Music] they still haven't shown the wishbone today that last drive Michigan had they possessed of all three minutes 29 seconds there were six plays in Gillette 50:28 Garfield go he's now 15 out of 21 had a penalty marker thrown down around the 11 yard line let's see what this is all about [Music] probably came up put his hand on the ground and then picked it up and put him back up so there that's an offside penalty way back to the six yard line where it'll be first in 15 you can't make a mistake down outside the offense he lined up in his own to the center touch the ball first down so now the Golden Gophers have their backs to the wall when you get up in thanks for the explanation Tim Kimberly [Music] he's running backs behind mr david Puck to pull back to fail back here back row complete out around the 5-yard line David plucked the intended receiver and I'll tell you what Ricki foggy had to get rid of that boner or if he sure did dick Billy Harris came in on him six-foot 257 pounds junior he just came off that line of scrimmage and of course he had to throw it out here to puck it was a screen off to the left but it was covered well by the Michigan defense rookie foggy has an attempt of that many passes this year coming into this game hitting on 49% of his passes but he has caught only a hundred eight passes all of them big ones though he gets a lot of yards on his completion Barbie bout to throw again [Music] about the 27 and the molar making the stock for Michigan that gets Minnesota out of the hole it sure does Michigan was in his own defense they couldn't get back after Ricky Fogg he watched him Ricky's got a lot of time what watched the defense develop good locking up front he moves up and sees Gary couch right in the center of the zone a good play by Gary couch and a good catch and a could clear off by Mel Anderson number 89 that's what made the big hole in the defense the first down at the 28 yard line 22 yard game [Music] and he thought he should have had that fall but it was just a little bit out of his reach we'll throw good play roll out to the right and buggy pumped it out there probably could have been a first down if he could evade that kit but it would have been a tough catch so it's now second down and ten at the 28 Gary couch and Andy hair have been rotating at that flanker spot rate in the plays from the sideline [Music] number 17 Hicks is down at the 39 yard and once again the Michigan Wolverines have the ball and excellent field position Ivan Hicks just played that ball beautifully looked right into Ricky froggies eyes but what happened is there was there was a mixup with Ricky froggy didn't get the ball cleaned from the center watch this right here see drops the ball when he tries to hand it off to his fullback runs into his fullback was not able to see Hicks when he came up and Hicks with a great offensive catch really it wasn't an interception it was almost like a reception a great kit by Hicks and Michigan takes over on the 39 yard line first and 10 the turnovers have hurt Minnesota early fumble and Allen intercepted first down at the 39 yard line [Music] percent of Najarian nickimja stop for Minnesota now there's Jamie Morris he's five foot seven 175 pounds but he runs with such velocity did you hear that hit when he popped into that big Nigerian wow he very much resembles his brother who's now fine running back with the New York Giants and play bridge Syracuse University build along the same lines a gain of about three yards there it'll be second down 70 you better be fast for here holy fight with 775 pounds they may not get a playoff here before the quarter ends only three seconds remaining the clock is moving after one quarter of play here at the Metrodome in Minneapolis mister Wolverines efficient 10 and the Golden Gopher is a Minnesota and I think this is super football Saturday on Turner network television [Music] today's game is being brought to you in part by Buick and your Buick dealers for comfort innovation and a real commitment to quality it's today is Buick he's Anwar and Ron Kramer back with you from the Metrodome where the second quarter is about to begin it is 10 and up in Michigan after the interception by Ivan Hicks this Wolverines again with excellent field position that's a good football understand how they ever lost the game were tied the game with Illinois they did have it right down on about the 9 yard line that when Michigan fumbled against Illinois which neither was cited this thing this whole big 10 should really be in the night of Michigan with of Ty Dillon oil and it still could be because Iowa has to play Purdue today and Ohio State plays Wisconsin and then Michigan and Ohio State play next week in Ann Arbor and this Minnesota team will be playing Iowa it'll be our big 10 game Holly there are 10 different Bowl representatives blocking this one today [Music] as passers-by catus the tight end at the 30-yard line falls to the 29 Bruce hauls bringing them down it's a first down our bar likes to look to his big tight in six foot six 225 pounds down the field and he rolled out had plenty of time to get out here to the left we have a timeout on the field I think they're gonna measure for the first down but Eric Candice came from the right side and just sort of hooked up in the middle of his own and when our boss saw him he popped it right in there and catus ate a good catch close to a first down that looks like it maybe pick up Kevin yer brought out and it has a first down for Michigan [Music] at markov second completion people having fun up here in many efforts again what a great resurgence in football here at the University of Minnesota they've done a fantastic job [Applause] first down at the 29-yard line they split the back this time the little guy up to the 24-yard line a gain of about 5 Lari jointer making the tackle a good trap block up front by a big done by telly number 67 6 foot 1 277 pounds sophomore from the University of Michigan that that's the little kind of little fools that they make when they when they trap they come from the left and they block out on one of the defensive end and little jig beam or as pops through that hole picks up four or five yards he's now carrying the ball for time he's good for 19 yards [Music] Jerald place down to the 22 yard line before Larry Joyner made the stop Doug Miller almost made that tackle in the backfield but white got away and picked up three or four yards it's another another big for a third down play again it'll be third down and three for Michigan [Music] Walmart on the 22 yard line we're in the opening minutes of quarter number two make sure Ghibli Dame's have nothing and here comes the double full backpack failed again as Bob Merriman checks in replacing Jamie Morris a bull elephant backfield and she tied in [Music] [Music] what's happening is you know you can't hear everything quite properly and the noise is a factor as we said at the beginning of the game so this hurts Michigan back to the 27 yard line goes the football dead ball delay of game on the offense third up we got the we got a flanker coming in Johnny colla sir he's the young kid he's a freshman 6-foot 190 pounds they like his feed last we get three touchdowns again so I guess the good tell us our goes out to the right side Yogesh comes out wide left bear down [Music] gun firing okay [Music] yo kids puts a move on met Martinez like you can't believe they had of one-on-one how would you like to call it a cover up all yolk it's number 84 648 240 pounds and Martinez is a 510 junior 185 pound he ran it down and in the post pattern right perfect a perfect throw by Jimmy Harbaugh and it's a touchdown at 6 points on the court for Michigan look at how open he is he just beat Martinez very badly and into the end zone for September chill at in to attempt the extra point as the Wolverines attempt to go 17 points up [Music] thirty minutes and three seconds remaining in the first half it is now the Wolverine 17 and the Golden Gopher is nothing [Music] 4-cylinder engines on the Michigan sideline the Wolverines up by 17 they're the defensive spin the difference the fumble recovery in the past interceptor they catch in the end zone by Melvin Anderson no play it out to the 20-yard line and this is and this is something this is something that Minnesota did not want to do I'm going he's still keeping this team high as a kite 13:03 left in the second period and Minnesota's I was mentioning did not want to get behind by 17 points with the kind of offense they have by plays on the line [Music] they to the Minnesota quarterback Jim scarce la and Mike Mallory make him stop quarterback sneak by Ricky buggy what he did is he looked at the defensive line Michigan's cross charging they cross charged to the left Ricky Bobby ran to the right and picked up nine yards off quarterback sleep you don't see that very often anymore do you he is now gained 11 yards I'm free Carrie's second battle of the Minnesota 29 [Music] and the roller and Mike Mallory are making a hit for Michigan greatest straight ahead was David puck now at six carries 25 yards now this has been the area of the field where Minnesota has been having problems they've turned the ball over twice to Michigan from right about this spot one on a fumble and one intercepted pass by hit first down at the 32 [Music] find any down he goes for a loss of two yards and a molar number 49 got him to pull down foggy Andy molar from his middle linebacker position filled when one of the cards pulled he filled came up from behind and tackled Ricki foggy from behind watch him there number 49 do you follow he's following the quarterback and and it stops him from pitching the ball back to Valdez Baylor go after a two-yard loss it's now second down and 12 [Music] didn't see it coming it falls incomplete the brookie foggy really had to get rid of that one in a hurry let's was on Michigan's defense Jim scarce Ellie wasn't touched over there and Ricki foggy saw that the Blitz was on just tried to pump it off over to David puck in if David puck would have been looking he could have picked up a lot of yards on the end completion now makes it third down and 12 this is not a good position for the Minnesota Gophers to be in because they're not this type of team where they can have third and 10 third and 12 they have to have the third [Music] Kevin Starks that'll be roll them into play pass and Minnesota will have to give the ball back to Michigan Joey Harris the little guard was right there they tried that little pitch into the center watch him go back to throw the ball and he just flips it that that's that front flip it's an intercept it's uh it's a pass that is incomplete that's all there he is big number 56 Billy Harris right on it Adam Kelly in to do the kicking [Music] the 34-yard line ago had a bomb so once again the Wolverine come up with a big play and they will get the football back in excellent field position David Arnold got through just got his hands on of course Michigan again as the great field watch Charlie goes right for the ball gets a part of that fall he didn't go up the lane he went at the ball and that's how you flock punch big play for Michigan defense again and that will go in the record books as a three yard punt and it gives Michigan the ball back on a 33 yard line we'll be right back is the super football Saturday on Turner and with television [Music] a little over 11 minutes remaining in the first half they should get with a 17 nothing lead just got in the ball [Music] picks up a couple of yards nobody was open he was looking downfield for his big flanker ball joke at 6:48 240 pounds Harbaugh saw that he was covered decided to pick up fringes run down the sideline get out of bounds it'll be second down and eight ball just inside the 31 yard line you know what's happening there's Michigan offensive and defensive line in the trenches are just I mean they're awesome I've never seen a team to get off the ball as quickly offensively and defensively in the trip [Music] Kofi's Peter Najarian Anthony Birk Dean Thompson all on that death oh there's Peter did during a good tackle one sit here he's on ice off look at the good reaction he gets rid of the blocker in front of him and sticks his nose right in there and he makes that gang tackle for a very short gain on jerome white it'll be third down and four yards to go gavel goes on line right forty-seven [Music] he goes at the 21-yard line but he's got a first down Jill Kristofferson making the stop for Minnesota Jo a white cut that ball out there he really created a crowd to do here those pops on him after he caught the ball these guys over with over on Minnesota side are not quitting I guarantee of that Michigan is now just playing a good football game watch Carroll white slip out of the backfield there he is wide open right on about the 22 yard line he gets the ball just far enough for the first down and Michigan will have it first and 10 on the 21 yard line little over 10 minutes remaining down the first day [Music] Brodus number 97 got his hands around here all white and pulled him down now rotor slipped through the one thing about this Minnesota Club Ryan we saw them against Michigan State a couple of weeks ago and did point out how they don't quit they were down 31 3 in that fall right and came back of almost one at 31 26 was the final so they don't give up Gerald white now with 11 carries 51 yards second down and nine at the 20 yard line White Fence arrest now swap Carolyn checks in [Music] to put two bars [Applause] flying tackle at the 16-yard line made by Steve bouncin good alert play by Thompson coming back Morris had some room out there you know he's like a jitterbug and he's got that quickness in at great speed and he almost did broke it away but coming from behind was Thompson tackling for a very short game it'll be now third down in five yards to go another big third down play here for Michigan has been able to convert on maize today they are in [Music] and he's got him for a first down at the 6 yard line blame the trowel over there in the coverage finally making the Decker yoke it's down the field all he did was make a move on to TRO and in the amido what he made is what we call a sideline pattern perfectly thrown by Jimmy Harbaugh and to try to cover this guy Paul joka to a 648 I keep on spinning this 240 pounds foot where the falls thrown perfectly how can you stop that to trail there's no possible way that the truck could ever stop that ball it was perfectly thrown good pattern by yogic and Michigan had the first in Bell on a second [Music] five yard line a gate of what will be second down and goal he's a heavy ball player agency him like most quarterbacks who are running the option out there just trying to pick up an extra yard or so Karpov says huh last year I broke my arm doing that this year I'm gonna get down to the ground I'll take my 1 yard and we'll go back and run it another play second down and goal now from the 5 [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] that'll move it back to about the eight yard line go [Music] what Harbaugh likes to do down here is roll out and what the wide side to his right he certainly would probably have a flake all where he can roll out to the right and look downfield to see if he can find his big pie tin Kenneth or Paul Joe gets in the end zone because they must go to the end zone it's third down and eight yards to go for the touchdown that ball had a very fortunate bounce for Jim Harbaugh go back to throw it got plenty of protection that's Jamie Morrison he's [Music] a very heady ballplayer we said keep an eye on him prior to the game he was perfect that time hitting Jamie Morris out in the right flat after he came back to throw waited let's now watch it he sits back here and he just waits for the play to develop it didn't develop where he wanted to do so he took his second choice and Jamie Moore's was open and he got into the endzone for 6 points Michigan now leads 20 freedom nothing surprised and Mike Gillette will try to make it 24 Gillette and the Wolverines have opened up a 24 nothing lead over the Golden Gophers of Minnesota with 659 to go in the birthday [Music] excuse me any Christmas gifts under $10 our ace November best buys this chicago cutlery gourmet nights that is only 977 what a Parkin we are back at the Metrodome it's been all Michigan to this point 24 nothing there it is number of plays nine yardage 33 four minutes and 14 seconds on that last drive here's the kickoff brick son go it's gets the bear foot into it and it's taken at the 8 yard line 5 Terry Stewart didn't advance it very far though after the reception he gets it out to about the 12 you could talk about this Michigan defense all day long they've played this year against the great quarterbacks in the big 10 Jack Trudeau GM Everett Chuck lon that one of those three was able to throw a touchdown pass against this Michigan defense look at the great field position Michigan's had here in this first half on the 45 yard line Minnesota starting out on the 18 yard it's pretty tough to get the ball in force if you don't get that feel for this and to me the most incredible thing about the Michigan game against Purdue is the fact that we've seen Purdue we know how good an offensive cup they have they were unable to get the ball into Michigan territory all day 44 yard line that's all the farther they got it then here [Music] offensively [Music] try to pull that same play that he pulled on the last possession this time it was good for only a two-yard gain and a molar making the stop for the Wolverines to middle linebackers really do fill well Mike Mallory and Andy molar we made mention Mike Mallory is the son of Bill Mallory down at Indiana he is another young son [Music] for the first down David Puck was looking for Running Room and found none riki foggy also took a spill after handing it off mark nester took care of foggy Mike Mallory took care of puck well let me tell you something here's words one in-laws looking out quickly Michigan comes off the line of scrimmage makes penetration into the backfield of Minnesota and that's why Minnesota can't pick up any art third down and six the game again is to the full-back puck he got it out to about the 19 yard line it's three yard shy of a berth Laurie and Andy molar making the stop and the Minnesota fans getting a little frustrated now I think the whole team is becoming a little bit frustrated this Michigan defense is awesome they are just so quick so fast and they're they came here ready to play Kelly checks into the funding his last pot was partially blocked Eric Campbell is the deep man for Michigan he's standing at his own 35 yard line Galilei gets a good kick away this time 37 yard line here's Campbell Campbell out to the 47 yard line and that's when the Wolverines will put it in play [Music] many smiles on the faces of Minnesota fans right now there's one it is 24 nothing Michigan with 518 remaining in the first half we'll be right back this is super football Saturday I'm twisting inside it looks like quarterback coach Jerry Hanlon up and up in the booth can't even get in touch with his people on the on the sidelines but of course when you have 24 points they may not need you to the second half [Music] almost intercepted by Anthony Burke Burke had a chance to go all the way if he get around it after getting that hand up Jimmy Harbaugh head John colas are open out here on the sidelines here he goes back to pass Jimmy Harbaugh big number 95 puts his big mitt up there Anthony Birk knocks it down good play by the big defensive end if Burke had turned the other way he would have been able to pull that one down may just stay right in Michigan's pocket [Music] they'll have the tailback Bruce Holmes and Jo Kristofferson sought event that's only the second time in this football game that Michigan has started in their own own into the field and that's at the 47 yard line and already we're seeing some substitutions offensively for the Wolverines now they bring colas are back yet they bring Jamie Morris back in I imagine that it's a passing situation it is third down and 12 at the 45 yard line [Music] plenty of time to find another man now he's traveling [Music] he was open in the middle of his own and when you give Jimmy Harbaugh that kind of time he looked down the field and saw who did he see that big guy 640 240 pound Paul yoke it's right in the middle of his own look at when he moved out here nobody's open good blocking up front Harbaugh kicks out to his left and he throws the ball running on his left and yo kitch is open in its 19 yards and a first down for University of Michigan that's one thing it quiets the crowd down under there at the Minnesota 36th great patience shown on that last 25 ball [Music] about three are Peter to Jerry number 32 who may even stop for Minnesota the only thing is this Minnesota defense has been on this field a long time this afternoon and sooner or later they continued they'll break more than they have already efficient leave 24 to nothing after a two yard gain its second down and eight we'll take a look at the Minnesota marching band at halftime we'll also meet the athletic director and former great athlete here at Minnesota Paul gale our Big Ten players of the week will be saluted now look at the Big Ten standings and some highlights from the first half [Applause] over four minutes remain in the first half Harbaugh back to throw on second down the 30-yard line by Jamie Morris Peter Najarian back in the coverage for Minnesota John Kohler sire and Paul yokas were running down the field they were clearing out and that little Jamie Morris I don't think they can see him out there you know he's totally five-foot 775 fives he might not see him out there but surprisingly enough Jimmy Harbaugh really finds him very quickly on the for a touchdown on the last touchdown that time he found them in the sidelines again it'll be third down and four the ball right at the 30 yard line Eric Campbell comes out wide left this time Yogesh goes wide to the right side [Music] that's what is incomplete defense doesn't break they all the Gophers had the blitz on if that's the first time Jimmy parbat just didn't have the patient when Paul Lucas went down and ran the pattern he was covered very well by Dwayne do trout and it fell incomplete it'll be a fourth down and we're looking for a 47-yard field goal Mike Gillette connected on one from 28 yards [Music] to the right yeah but lack of direction wind is blowing hard so Minnesota is able to stop the Michigan ballclub this time and they'll get the ball back with three minutes seven seconds remaining in the first half and Michigan with a 24 nothing lead the Gophers in deep trouble now with no points on the scoreboard Michigan scoring 24 when you run the kind of offense they do with with the rookie four-game you don't have that down field passing you're looking for the big players you rely on ball control it makes it very difficult for you to pick up 24 points against a very very good Michigan defense that has given up only five points a game penalty markers are down the ball was snapped this is the best field position that Minnesota has had here in the first half and they just looked five-yard to it this'll blow the ball back to the 25-yard line they look like they're going into a double wing passing formation with Ricky buggy you're going to have to come money offense they're gonna have to come out of their game plan of trying to run the ball right straight up the middle and establish established Apache game have two tight ends in there and E hair is wide right Anderson wide left the whole back David cut back out to the 30-yard line where it'll be a second down to ten about a five yard game [Music] here's the message in here Mike's a senior that's the offensive line sitting on Michigan's they should be praised they've done a great job offensively [Music] but it's incomplete Michigan's great penetration defensively like Mallory in their Mark Lester northwestern Michigan State tied in the first 377 I think that's being played up at up at Michigan State Ohio State Wisconsin no score Tennessee seven Mississippi nothing in the first three and here at the Dome it's 24 nothing Michigan with remaining in the we're down in town [Music] he was out he was out of bounds they're saying no catch did not have to but a great play by Ricky Bobby just to get out of this great rush on it Valdez later runs a little out pattered but fog is being chased and he finally gets it out to his halfback but he caught the ball and he was out found and the camera showed very clearly that Baylor came down out of bounds and I didn't want to do that I really saw him well without 1:40 [Music] it's a pretty good kick away [Music] was a knuckleball it was not a spiral tough to catch bubble by Michigan what's the ball it just it looks like a knuckleball it's coming down and it was hard to judge [Music] like Minnesota maybe they are saying that they did not give him enough room to make America that could be that's what it is Campbell had to come up for that ball a little bit and you've got to give a punt returner a kick returner a little bit of room to make the fair gratuity calls for it and that's what we're going to get here we're going to get the penalty Markoff against Minnesota [Music] for Minnesota today we'll take a look at this and we'll see first book will hear from the referee what executor for the opportunity to catch the ball attack 15 yards against the kicking team first down didn't give that receiver about a 3 yard area to make the fair catch and Minnesota did not do that so what could have been a big play for the Golden Gophers instead goes Michigan's way a steep Franklin was down there number 40 just a little too quickly maybe the fans don't like it [Music] first down 30 to the line Bruce Holmes finally brought him down Cantus firmus tight Inquisition running what we call a drag out and it was a good clear by number 40 John colas our and the pig catice was open on the sidelines just flip stop their fight Jimmy Harbaugh and Michigan picks up another first down and they are again in scoring position those receivers for Michigan like a couple of bookends Paul Yogesh 6-8 there at Cadiz six six it's a big guys first down at the 32 yard line a little over two minutes remaining first half [Music] yes it inside the 30 a gain of about five we have less than two minutes here in the first half Michigan leads whitey Ford another nil for Minnesota Steve wrote us making the stop on that last play five carries for 23 yards down Jamie more to go here to ball five five he's also caught a couple of passes one key one a touchdown second down six after the four yard game colas are comes out alive [Music] back to throw [Music] think so but the referee did boy that's a close call he caught the ball and when he what the referee said is when he hits the ground Steve Franklin was right there but yo pitch was wide watch this watch it very closely now he catches the ball he brings it in yes it is a touchdown he went [Music] all he had to have was possession and he did and the ground cannot cause a Funko quite after at that feels good and the Wolverines for Michigan have opened up a third [Music] Gophers [Music] Ron we've heard a lot about this Michigan Club the great defense they have we're getting a chance to see him today for the first time and certainly they're living up to the reputation they're not a bad offensive team either not at all and as we mentioned keep an eye on Jimmy Harbaugh Jimmy Harbaugh has been absolutely fantastic what's his great catch by Paul yo kitch he ran an out pattern out enough he ran to the sidelines then he went up the field and Franklin could not keep up with the nerdist the catch is made he brings it in he has control he hits the ground and the ball crumble that is a touchdown so in a minute 24 remaining is now 31 nothing Michigan Wow who'd ever thought this everybody lookin for a defensive battle here today between two very good defensive teams of Michigan have to happen these offensive lineman John Elliott done by Kelly Bobby Sabatino played Miller Jerry queer know these these five guys are really playing great football in front of Jimmy Harbaugh in that Michigan offense here's the kickoff Melvin Anderson awaiting the kick from suck OS and this one will go through the end zone we come out to the 20-yard line looking ahead one week Rob Primmer can we do that yet Michigan Ohio State we've had a chance to see them both well that's it that is a great rivalry and we're going to have the Wizard of Oz and the yellow brick road on here at halftime Alan Holt is checked into the game now at quarterback replacing Ricky foggy yeah the Ohio State Michigan Michigan game that's an outstanding game if that is not a that's not a game that's a battle and as we've seen them many times on Turner Network we've seen the Woody Hayes and he knows the people up north can play football and we know that Ohio State came to but I think it's a little [Music] he's got a first down well Allen Hulk a couple weeks ago against Michigan State got some ignited was able to throw the ball and there's 118 left here in the first half when they see if they can get some points on the scoreboard he played the entire game against Michigan State that's when Ricky foggy was out with a groin pull [Music] stopping the clock with a minute eight to go in the first half Michigan in a prevent defense they're there they're playing that deep zone they won't let him get deep pouch went right down the field stopped in between us and he was hit perfectly by Allen hold the first down again for importance of Minnesota Gophers 24 yard gain on that last play in the timeouts been taken here by Minnesota watch the rollout here he got off to the right spots his man open Gary Coxe Gary Coxe makes a great catch downer 24 yard gain and a first down out of bounds stop the clock they didn't even have to call timeout but they did because I think they want to spend into a free play coming into this game Gary couch had only caught ten passes all season but he averaged 41 and a half yards per catch that's a pretty quick that's a pretty good day if you catch one or two a day or you're breaking 80 80 yards young fella having a good time at the Gopher football the resurgence here at the Humphrey dome and right now the Golden Gopher is is hoping to get something on the board before the first half comes to an edit they sure would like to go in on a positive note and I'm sure that's what Lou Holtz is trying to do at this point and that's why he put in Alan Hope a freshman quarterback there's a first down at the 46 yard line of Michigan boulders the quarterback lucky Africa and Wilson the running backs now [Music] at the 47-yard line he was swarmed under the Blitz was on Jeff Akers number 33 the first man to get through and they'll call a timeout again stopping the clock at 57 seconds remaining in the first half a blitz was on Michigan came with everything all linebackers while we have a moment here let's pause five seconds for station identification this is WX mi TV 17 Grand Rapids there's a man have gone through to bring down the quarterback Jeff Baker he's honorable in Massachusetts an interesting quote from Bo Schembechler in the newspaper here a couple of days ago talking about his defense he says at times they even scare me well you know what he has thought though he has thought that all year long something was going to happen sooner or later and it hasn't they get some getting better without their way I mean they they have they have held the opponents to 51 points while Michigan is scored 240 points that means you're scoring 26 at that point six points per game offensively and defensively you're holding people the five point six people like Iowa Illinois Purdue and now of course Minnesota well you know if you can hold a team to five point six points per game all you got to do this for one touchdown every week in you're a winner that's right and Michigan has certainly done more than that here today they believe it 31 nothing but 57 seconds to go in the first [Music] that's a 43-yard line Richardson is a quarterback who is used at times in that backfield as he there a running back or a fast receiver they caught that fast got out of bounds very nicely for a seven-yard game fifty seconds remaining it's a third and nine at the 45 yard line [Music] [Music] what looks like a little bit of a late hit by Michigan Jeff Baker is over there on the tackle yeah look like to me it was a little bit of a late hit too you can't throw those people down when they're out of bounds so Michigan will be penalized look at 40 seconds left here in this in this second period that's the first break really that Minnesota's had all day well I say who doesn't agree with us call at all as welcome back there he is raging over on the sidelines well he's one of those raging bulls anyway as we all know goes up to 25 [Music] first down for Minnesota forty seconds remaining in the first half [Music] technical difficulties with the referees microphone so we were unable to hear that last call with one for the lady hey is that pallet Anderson that Kenya it's a first down 34 seconds remains Doug Mallory and Brad Cochran were back in the coverage for Michigan even though Mike Hammerstein put on an awful lot of pressure Michigan had a defense back there it was his own defense and a good kit right in the center of it Mel Anderson in a good game tackle by the University of Michigan defensive backs [Music] here the clock is moving with 30 seconds remaining Piper Crombie dives ahead of the agar line and a soda took the time out they tried to crunch up but there's a flag on the field and it might be against Minnesota the flag is back near the goal line that is their last time out for Minnesota [Music] Oh so it will be halfway to the goal line in 21 seconds left if you if you take a look at it you can throw at least two passes and kick a few low post Schembechler you know here he comes out of the field he wants to play that defense a little good I think seconds the player even a referee in the last minute that he hasn't agreed with and he's done a great job for the University of Michigan over the past 17 years he's won over 80 percent of his football games and that makes him one of the greatest coaches in the history of the University of Michigan and in the country so the personal foul call against the Wolverines moves the ball out of the hole second down 21 seconds remaining the clock now begins to move Allen hold a quarterback [Music] about the 1-yard [Music] try to hurry up now get a playoff but I'll tell you what I think I think you got enough for the first down and that'll stop the clock just so they can move the chains only two seconds remain now [Music] in those first half [Music] you don't know how they can call timeout I think they're all out of timeouts well I thought they were too but the referees indication was that the timeout was taken here by Minnesota the scoreboard clock showing no timeouts left for the Golden Gophers but they apparently did have one left that's how much we know a beer can that's how much the scoreboard clock codes all we can do is look at the scoreboard clock and apparently one of the timeouts one of them obviously I think Lou Holtz what to get him in a positive mood right now get something on the scoreboard I don't know if he's gonna kick up field well if I were him I'd kick a field goal right now finally a score for the same stage of the game where Minnesota began began to come to life against Michigan State 31 for halftime and they came back in the second half to make it a ballgame 31:26 here they pray all 31 nothing well the only way you can the only way you can get your players really in a spark is to give some kind of points on the scoreboard even though Michigan has 31 points if they go in 30 1 2 3 and it'll be it'll be a spark for them because they did get some points on the scoreboard against this tough Michigan defense while the ball is resting on the one-yard line on that time to run one play before the first offense running backs are Kevin Wilson and Valdez sailor you know if you don't get this in now Minnesota doesn't get this in for a touchdown big one that they go into the locker room with a real bummer because now all of a sudden Michigan's defense is held with no place [Music] people were huffing and jumpin on that line of scrimmage we don't know who it's going to be again we might have two separate penalties here one penalty flag was thrown in the end zone and about the time of Gary couch caught the ball the other one thrown back at about before yard-line and then of course if if Minnesota was offside and one of their linemen lifted up their hand that means it was a it was before the play so that the other ones won't count we can see people jumping up and down we saw those flags go out very early [Music] was in incomplete pass he thought he caught it it was at giveth the penalty was against Michigan and so this play will be run over here the ball - about a half yard away might be a first down that final play of the first half one more time of course it doesn't make any difference whether it's the first down or not there's nothing there isn't any more time on the scoreboard so this will be the last play of the first half Wow inches away [Music] we have we have install against Michigan we have some difficulties also with the with the microphone on referee on the referee so we can't hear what the cars are now on hold asking for quiet now [Music] taken by Michigan [Music] think you don't think it over not a bad boy right there you already know you're up against one of the top be fences in the nation one of the toughest defenses in the nation they were ready to they were ready to call their play and they were ready to get it going but Michigan's defense now they may be thinking exactly okay let's find out what what our plan was to stop Minnesota if they were close to the goal line and so they call the timeout wanted to talk it over but they should in defense is allowed only two touchdowns all year was know when he scored one and Indiana's scored one that's Bennett and no extra point thing about that is one of the touchdowns at Indiana score Michigan fumbled on the one in the half yard line and Indiana got in with that and it took them three down well here they come again the golden gophers trying to become a thirteen to score six I guess Michigan as bigger the running backs in there the quarterback this again will be the final play of the first half after that pass interference call against Michigan Michigan defenders now trying to intimidate that's how they jumped offside before they tried to intimidate that offensive line maybe make them jump offside and if that happens then they can refuse the penalty and their backers have again for the touchdown is Valdez Baylor but they're going to call a penalty I think gives Minnesota but it will be before the play got started it will be on the left tackle and they'll have another boy it is against the Gophers [Music] we're going to be down here forever aren't we awesome a touchdown that penalty well not only left tackle the left tackle of Minnesota offside watch him over on the left side D it right there left guard he was before the ball was snapped he was he was making his block now the ball comes back to the five-yard line and once again we will say here comes the final play of the first half we hope so that now I think I could sit here and if I were Lou Holtz but five yards to go why not take the three points in it's a little confusing right now let's take the three points in see if we can get four touchdowns the next half [Music] may have had that in mind but they're going to go for the touchdown the 5-yard line [Music] that Michigan defense does it again a big goose egg number 33 Jeff Akers making the tackle on to bring this first half to an end watch how they're walking off the field now great rush by Michigan great defensive coverage in the backfield there's the tackle right there by number 33 Jeff Akers he did not get in and when I saw this Minnesota team going off the field they are in a dejected mood right now they are not on a high they're on a loan well they marched the ball all the way down the field only to come up empty and at the end of the first half of play here at the Metrodome it's still 31 nothing Wolverines [Music] I'm colas our wedding the kick they try the onside kick little trick very employed by Minnesota but it didn't work as Michigan is going to get the ball an excellent field position not a bad idea but Keith Cowan number 58 was right on top of it the only problem with the idea is it didn't work it was a great idea and it's always a great idea if they do work but if it doesn't work it puts Michigan into great field position and if Michigan can get more points on the scoreboard and it could be Katie bar the door for Minnesota gopher making against the ball right at the 50-yard line but as you know if you were in that position you're 31 and nothing's behind you got to try just about anything to get on the scoreboard [Music] got about two yards in that said Peter Najarian in on the tackle for Minnesota along with Matt Martinez and Bruce Holmes Oh Peter de jure and he just loved to play football he's out there to hit for there he is he stuck again they're stuck together again that's how hard they hit their helmets are stuck together trying to pry them loose there it is Vica didn't you believe that cruise holes they can tear them white but we're stuck together you think there ain't some he isn't going on there your crit watch it watch this on the replay now watch these two guys whack into each other and the helmets they couldn't get intertwined we get the feeling that some of these Minnesota players kind of feel like they've had Michigan people on top of them the whole ballgame [Music] about eight after a two-yard my wife to throw in second down an open receiver now complete to Eric catice from Cincinnati Matt Martinez back on the coverage and the Wolverines are inside the 10 yard line another first down watch Candice come from the left side here and pop off clock to the back sees nobody's open he just whips over here to the right all of a sudden he sees Eric Cadiz break open Eric's wide up and then he makes a good catch and it's a first down and goal the goal on the eighth for the Michigan Wolverine that's a 40 yard game that's his third kit for 65 yards [Music] Perryman the ball-carrier picked up about er Anthony birth making the stop for Minnesota [Music] mark that ball at the six yard line big number 95 [Music] Eric Kenneth Eric Kenneth back in for now they spotted the ball just shy of the 7 yard line from the second down and goal looks like Michigan's going to have to go up top [Music] inside the 5-yard line even a Jerian back in the coverage now be third and goal [Music] very impressive performance today by the Wolverine those are the errors of we mentioned this little guy jim harbaugh sneaks that way he's not really a little guy he's six four three two hundred Bob I'm he's pretty big kid you've never heard anything about him all year we haven't seen him so obviously he didn't know a great deal about Jim Harbaugh before he is very impressive today he is an excellent day running the offense and he's cool back go for the yard line find it open man fires it up and fires it incomplete John call us are they intended receiver in the end zone but the incompletion will make it forced out and bring on the field goal unit all good defensive play by Matt Martinez Matt's in the end zone over there and he's hurting pings on to John Kohler cider is done knock down colas are done and then he tried to spend it in here's the play right here where Jim Harbaugh price is brought to him and is not able to do it will be fourth down the field goal try flank Gillette will be putting this one from the 15-yard line a 25-yard attempt he connected from 28 yards miss from 47 million is good from 25 yards away just two minutes into the third quarter the Wolverines have added some more points to their lean it's now 34 nothing's Michigan chief and when Ron Cramer back with you from the Metrodome in Minneapolis where it's 34 nothing Michigan we are first quarters for Wisconsin three Ohio State nothing [Music] they went back to the wishbone Anderson was wide open ran it down and in down the field Ricki fogging up that was a good roll that was a perfectly thrown ball out of the wishbone watch him he just sets back there and he wings it and now Anderson is wide open that ball could have been caught Tony we're back on the coverage for the Wolverines son the incompletion makes a third and seven that would have certainly encouraged this Minnesota offensive team score score michigan state's leading northwestern at the halftime 13 to nothing [Music] for a tea party back to throw complete the intended receiver number six Eugene Gaylord called lucky vice-presidency Minnesota and the Gophers will have to pop the ball away and he mower moved in front tipped the ball now they're gonna have to punt it again Michigan will have another chance I think Michigan's only punted one time in the football game they have played a near-perfect football game perfect as far as nobody getting the ball into the end zone John colas are waiting for it at the line call for the fair catch there that's what Michigan will put the ball in play it was a good kick by Adam Kelly 48 yards and no return again they're deep in their own territory Michigan coach is still working very hard [Music] the coaches never think that these games are over and that's why I always keep watching do I like to see these notes to play in football game even if Michigan alleys 34 turn up at his jokes until football going on out there yeah that was Gary over on the sidelines [Music] small making to stop for Minnesota though we'll probably try to keep the ball on the ground keep that clock movement maybe more fit in group so he's going to come off and they're going to bring in big Herman Morris alpha P alpha P remember junior from buzzards bay Massachusetts Bay I'll tell you what you got to be tough to do anything up there seven carries the 23 [Music] stop shy of the first down a lot of yard shy Doug Mueller number 46 making the stop for Minnesota just rated his stuff pullback carrying the ball Michigan now third down the one yard to go try to use the clock as I mentioned before 1041 here the third period missed at least 34 to nothing third down actually less than they are to go for the first down two tight ends in Ann Arbor Michigan [Music] 26 yard line and then some Michigan off it we talked about the defense being awesome today Michigan's offense and defense both played a fantastic game headed by Jimmy Harbaugh quarterback Harbaugh is having a great day throwing the ball but if you talk to foshan Beckler he is a disciple of the running game he says if you can run the football offensive way and stop the run defensively war games sounds a lot easier than it is for a loss of the yard by Anthony Birk back to the 25-yard line Kirk did a good bill was not plucked right Big John Elliott he slipped through the line in the tackle for a 1-yard log anymore so it'll be a second down and 11 but you flip from the left side here you see him slip through here Tereus pushes the guard out of the way makes the tackle just the way it should be done Minnesota by the way playing defensively today without one of their top players marked as pabich who's all Asprey knees a good one yes he was ah Kherson playing in that spot today [Music] now he's found somebody open firing down there that his complete to fall Yogesh first down Michigan inside the Minnesota 40 wow what a play by Jimmy Harbaugh all of his people downfield were covered he just kept moving to the left moved around to the right his offensive line Elliott Vitelli cappuccino Miller and queerness they all blocked for me moved all the way out to the right side all of a sudden softball joke it's down the field what's this throw now it's perfectly thrown at a good catch by Paul Yoakam on the run there he is look at this catch that's a big basketball player you know used to be players played basketball at Michigan up until last year when he came off for football and Bo asked him to come he said I certainly will and he's been a great addition five catches hundred 19 yards and two touchdowns Gerald white gets the ball inside the 35 yard line a five-yard pickup I'll make it second down and five Bruce Holmes making the stop for Minnesota [Music] looks like the trophies going back to Michigan they already got a textbook the Little Brown Jug is inside that case it's protected well I'll tell you something you just don't fool around with the little flower crown jug if you go over to that sideline you just can't get it back for nine burials quarter in at 64 yards now for Gerald white [Music] caller for our games on second down six [Music] the way inside the 20-yard line for another first down for the Wolverines Donavan small finally made the stop for Minnesota devastating offensive lines is doing a great job as we mentioned they're big they average about 275 up front 15 carries for white 80 yards pretty good day from that fullback position first down at the 18 they should get leaving in 34 times a finding of minutes ago an affair the ten yard line every time they run the ball or passed the ball now just ripping dick jumps into that Minnesota defense scenario at five carries for twenty yards [Music] I was gonna mention the young cheerleader trying to get this thing going but it's pretty tough when you're 34 to nothing behind and Michigan moving again offensively second down three yard the ball on the 11 yard line of Minnesota [Music] - white white gets inside the ten close to the first down Doug Miller making the stop long ago freeze see what I was saying about extra effort even white what the sport of the way it is is really working hard because you know get dulled you're going to get hurt Michigan cheerleaders these guys are part of the gymnastics team at the University of is you we're down about a yarn to go for the first down the ball in the mine yard line of Minnesota it's a play he's got the first down inside the five yard line we got a first and goal on the floor Steve Gibbons making the stock for Minnesota you're watching a great football team I can't understand how there's that they've lost one game and tied one at this point [Music] Iowa's not a bad football team either are they and neither is Illinois fine I will see that Iowa club next week that's right against this Minnesota fall clubbing it'll be Iowa Michigan of course has their annual date from Ohio State one week from now first and goal from the 4 yard line [Music] back of the five Oh made by Steve Thompson [Music] he carries 88 yards we still have almost a quarter and a half we have six minutes left here in the third period Michigan leading 34 to nothing just total domination by this Michigan football club something we really didn't think what happened at the beginning of this game Minnesota really has been coming on in up to this time that we just thought that Minnesota would play right down to the wire [Music] blocks upfront by Eric Kat is too tight in the second touchdown of the day scored by Gerald white it's also up to 93 yards in 1930 you know one thing when you're traveling to you know you just you don't have as many players you can only put in somebody players your travelling squad is much smaller than this ones you would have it all game Gillette will attempt the extra point buddy Robbins doing there's Gillette's booth it's good now the Wolverines of Michigan continue to play very impressive football with 544 to go in the third quarter it is 41 nothing Michigan you know when I started dipping Kodiaks made him a friend here real happy because it's his brand now it's my brand too good and Morris with a special cut two packs right and it's got a big fresh one to dream flavor but don't take my word for it just ask my friend here he really got away with words Dhoni the lengths people go to to listen to a Delco music system may strike you as a bit odd but did you've heard it nothing else sounds quite like talcum because it's specifically designed to match the acoustics of your very own GM car while it's still on the drawing boy Delco electronics delivers sound so true you'll never want to stop listening Delco designed in sound you'll love it too much to leave it Michigan leading 34 to nothing 5:48 the last one 90 yards five yard touchdown run by white here's the kickoff and it looks like it's going to stay in the end zone Gary Stewart he liked being that to run the ball out so look I'm out to the 20-yard line let's see what unit New Hope's will send out there now he's got Ricky foggy still in a quarterback Rozelle Richardson backfire on without [Music] [Music] trying to get the boss very difficult at this time though when the stores 41 to nothing [Music] across the 30 yard line I'm guilty number 41 making the stop for Michigan green pass left one man screen out there with Valdez Baylor nine and a half yard pickup and E hair and Gary couch continue to shuttle in amount of a lineup bringing the plays in from the sidelines the coaches in there now block up front on that last play to buy number 65 Dan Rickman just shy of the first down they mark the ball it's second down less than a yard to go Roselle Richardson [Music] thank you Richard Zurich ibague have the law I think they think everybody on the officials were faked out as well on that play they blew the whistle on Richardson got stopped now I told you you can think goodnight I've never seen that happen did I tell you he can fake they'll mark the ball at the 33-yard line it'll be a first down what's this fake to the believable takes it back out of this cut there he is out there and the bristles blow the whistle was blown Wayne rose out Richardson was hit at the line of scrimmage and Ricki foggy still had it so it's a first down for Venice Oda at the 30 I can't do much about it you blow it you blow it get on this time Ricky foggy is snowed under back at the 48 yard line that time he should have given it to Rozelle wrister clinic the lobby second down about 14 David Polk charisma got through to get credit for that quarterback sec we got sixty four thousand one hundred and twenty nine a full house here today to see this game that Michigan totally dominated Minnesota leading 41 did nothing with four twenty six left here in the third period Oh on second down and 14 fires a down fail for Gary couch but it's incomplete how did he come back to the 30-yard line they run for life Ricky foggy pressed pretty hard by that Michigan defense the defensive unit of Michigan among the best in the nation and we certainly have seen why today now watch the Blitz coming in there as you can blitz Todd Schulte chasing Mark Miller chasing ready getting rid of it the on the field in completion makes third down and 14 Anderson comes out wide right and the hair is also here on the right side try to stay in bounds and make the cat's couldn't region the incompletion we'll make it brought down that defense just kept coming again it was Jeff Akers and Todd Schulte linebackers who who blitz on that last play coming after Ricky palki chasing him out of the pocket that's when incomplete down the field Ricki foggy has not had a good day throwing the ball but he's has a little time back there to throw Giovanni Johnson back there waiting to kick from Adam Kelly and the Wolverines are going to get the ball back in the decent field position again Emily just did get this one off a good high long kick Johnson back of a 16 yard line up across the 30 another michigan touchdown Giovanni Johnson but return from the 17-yard line eighty-five [Music] all he had to do is outrun Kelly [Music] season opening to the outside there he goes Katie bar the door there's nothing there but the goal line two-point attempt here is going to be tried by Doug Mallory you can get an extra point Gillette's done all the kicking today but now Mallory does the booting on this one and it's good so with 3 minutes and 49 seconds remaining in the third quarter it is now Michigan 48 minutes so de and nothing we'll be right back this is super football Saturday on Turner network television [Music] i guard he sees a little hole in the middle there all of a sudden he breaks to the left and he's gone to the races there's nobody out there Kellie's they're trying to catch it but you know Kelly who's a putter is not going to catch the wide receiver Giovanni Johnson touchdown Michigan lead 48 to nothing we still got 349 left here in the third period now let's make a correction on the extra point that was Pat moon - who did that extra point for they sometimes give us double numbers here at this time we thought it was Mallory but it was not it was booth here's the kickoff and it'll go through the end zone Minnesota will start playing on the 40-yard line [Music] Jill bunny happy young men what a great feeling that is many great backs have never had to run a kick all the way back he said that one all the way back to Ann Arbor I got to be a happy bunch of playing the way they are against Minnesota force next week is going to be the big one against Ohio State we're going to have a big one due to because this Minnesota team is going to have to go to Iowa and I'm sure they're not going to play in the same manner that they're playing today it had just been one of those days for the Golden Gophers they've been unable to get anything going [Music] he had adopted now that's the second one earlier Mel Anderson dropped the touchdown pass Evan Hicks was back on the coverage for Michigan all day long even when the passes are good and he's not rushed look at Gary couch this is right in it and he's got to make these kinds of catches whoops where's the ball [Music] not doing much walking around today he's a little bit disappointed the long day he'll get ready for next week Lou Holtz will never quit [Music] he's got the first down all the way out for the 31 yard line quarterback draw up the middle got some scores Michigan State 13 Northwestern nothing Ohio state 7 Wisconsin 6 a little bit of a struggle for Ohio State the second Nebraska three Kansas 3 in the first air force 14 Brigham Young nothing that sort of a surprise do [Music] the air force could be undefeated this year and maybe Frank [Music] down back in the 28 a three-yard lost hot Schulte got in there to bring him down or choked he's doing a good job there's a little Brown Jug they're getting it ready to go back to NR Friday about where it's going this year [Music] forty-eight Michigan with just under three minutes to go under there in order [Music] as a young man looking on there that maybe someday I'll be playing for it himself wouldn't that be great [Music] 13 foggy back to throw the pass is incomplete at the air and the receiver once again Ricky foggy had no time at all back there [Music] score to the left side of a Michigan store you can see how they've dominated possession of the Little Brown Jug in recent years the way I'll have to come damn Harvard and get sent one back in schmuck look at the keys under lock and key you can't open it anymore third down 13 39 to go there at quarter down this path is dropped again that's been happening all afternoon to the Gophers Todd Schulte was back in the coverage [Music] Adam Kelly checks in and here comes Giovanni Johnson back on the field even it didn't even if it didn't happen things were happening from Michigan sights so strongly that even if they would get on the scoreboard the score is now 48 for Michigan nothing for Minnesota they gotta give the ball up against this defense hasn't quit for Michigan yet they I don't know if they have a first down here in a second oh you have to chew up I'm sorry [Music] the near sideline Johnson has it at the 31 yard line this time he will be brought right down at the 35 a 4-yard return nothing like the 85 yarder the last time was it stopped golden made the tackle for Minnesota 42-yard kick for Adam Kelly and a four yard return Michigan takes over again two minutes 24 seconds remain in the third quarter [Music] and the Wolverines have completely dominated this game Chris Serb rug has now checked in a quarterback the junior from Alliance Ohio Ripper it got a lot of play last year after Jimmy Harbaugh out of her motor Prague's really has some experience so it's the new quarterback mr. broy [Music] well do about the 38-yard line goes web a gain of two a lot of substitutions being made now by Michigan he looks on the Minnesota side line you could certainly understand it that scary couch you drop that little class a little while ago second a day the reason 48 nothing [Music] is there broad as the paramedic carrier we'll get it out to about the 40-yard line another two yard game these homes that Martina is making the stuff what I go for is I was going to say there's a lot of clean jerseys in here but when you're playing indoors and you're not playing on the dirt there everything looks like I'll tell you what if we were playing outdoors today they wouldn't be clean two inches of snow up here in Minneapolis and still coming third down and six there might be six inches out there now yeah well I'm flying down to Florida so well is there brought back to troll for the first time either some fresh air of fire got a completion to Kent Higgins the junior from Battle Creek Michigan and where Minnesota has been unable to connect on that particular kind of play all day Michigan has seemingly done it whatever they need to do that's just because the quarterbacks have just been very very patient look at he gets away from that tackle right there as Erick does then he goes downfield akin Higgins right in the middle of the zone that's a first down at the 45 yard well I'm going to Florida so I don't care if it's those year by the way we have not informed our viewers yet mr. Kramer that a couple of days ago he became a grandfather we want to congratulate well is the football game going on but a happy grandfather I hear India Ruth comer 9 pounds 6 ounces my daughter Cassandra down in Florida and her husband Brian made the old guy pretty happy they can call you Gramps now 6 the 41 yard line and there's Gramps right there hi mom I know my mother's watching I got to say hi to grant great-grandma 2e second down six yards to go up the 41 yard line forty-eight nothin Michigan only five seconds remaining in the third quarter they're gonna let the clock expire here nor quarter number three comes to an end and spin all Michigan 48 nothing the Wolverines laid the Gophers we'll be right back [Music] we have one bar quarter of football ago here in Minneapolis it's been all Michigan 48 nothing for the quarter about to begin we'll be right back this is super footballs baddest you know how we like to feature some of the stars of the past from the schools that we happen to be featuring every week and if we got one for you this week check out the guy picture oh wow that was my old pal Tom's head spin he and I were friends and still are very good friends in Detroit there's oak cranes without his facemask watch this great block how do you like that it'll bounce up in the air no spray work catches the ball do you know how many years ago that was about 31 years ago 1954 Ron Cramer all-america round down six yards to go for the first down sir brug is the quarterback how are you ladies Perryman and Webb of the running backs field Lonnie Johnson all [Music] I'm keeping rolling [Music] go [Music] Peter Najarian hasn't quit he may attack over Minnesota along with Steve Thompson -6 yards defensively Minnesota finally made one of the big play and what they did is they strung server up and he couldn't find a hole and he couldn't pitch it back it was covered well good tackle by the jurymen cannot quit they you've got to learn something even though you're behind 48 enough you must continue to work as hard as you can and Ron you were right on the money when you were talking about Michigan's third quarter performance this year by out scoring Minnesota 17 nothing in the third quarter today they have now outscored their opponents [Music] and getting it down to about the 41 yard line is fill weapon over 46 Larry Joyner made the tackle the Minnesota this is a rare occurrence punting situation Illinois leading Indiana 14 to 10 indeed in the second quarter Michigan State 19 to nothing over Northwestern in the fourth which gets Bates really coming on they really are really I mean after of course they started out their season they had to play Iowa Michigan in Illinois that's pretty tough that's pretty tough League they're very Undine they have a lot of juniors and sophomores and if they fiorina Karima came back through that was a big difference he Robins on the putt for the first time today [Music] what is going to sail all the way right how about that Wow how about that that only is the score 48 enough enough he puts him in a hole on the one-yard line just stop the ball like hitting a chip shot he hit it between head back up spin on it well the rap continues there at the metrodome with 13 minutes 17 seconds remember the Golden Gopher has really had their backs to the wall here at the one-yard line total offense Minnesota 189 Michigan 398 they're now at quarterback rosal Richard said the running backs that's a per crumby he's a freshman from Aliquippa pennsylvania 5-8 180 pounds Courtney Holmes also in the lineup an effort by Tim Schulte out there pumping him out of bounds the outside linebacker from the University of Michigan he was down on the ground and kept crawling and finally pumped about a bounce again a couple they are so it'll be second down and eight [Music] what else could happen to this Minnesota here [Music] but here in that backfield in his pass intended for Roselle Richardson falls incomplete and his David Poe Karishma has already been given credit for one quarterback sack today and he almost got him another one he thought he was gonna throw him up understands that's what it looked like to be get him all the way almost up right up to the wall so now it is third Avenue that's a lot of pressure on a freshman quarterback to like Allen hold but he got rid of it it's now going to be third down buddy I think you just said that video 48 nothing Michigan dominating this thing from the very outset and they have done a little bit of everything covered fumbles intercepting passes they drove for touchdown touchdown return kicks for touchdown Minnesota coldly I I was wondering if you were going to mention that it rolls out Richardson maybe a yard there and that's all what about the button these are all substitutes but they're still in there getting hard and they're still making good penetration into that Minnesota offensive line a no game Kelly will be kicking from the Mary back of the end zone Giovanni Johnson waiting at the Minnesota 47 he's already returned one fun [Music] Kelly's kick taken by Johnson at the 44 yard line to about the 37 yard line that's where the Wolverines have put it in play excellent field position once again 40-yard kicks seven yard return Michigan as you mentioned good field position this telecast authorized under broadcasting rights granted by the Big Ten Conference in the Turner Broadcasting System incorporated any publication reproduction or other use of the pictures descriptions are accounts of this game without the express written consent of the Big Ten Conference and the Turner Broadcasting System is derivative reserve drug is the quarterback [Music] buycks is laid out of a 32-yard line before he stopped Michigan running the ball as much as possible keep that clock moving 12 minutes left here in the fourth period variares ak made the stop for Minnesota doesn't look like much of a kids for Minnesota to do anything especially to come back this this ballgame I think we can smoke cigars with the score 48 to nothing and Michigan has only allowed six points in the fourth period against all upon second down five after that five my webs are broad keeping this one gets inside the 26-yard line there is a penalty marker down at about the 29 or far we bail holding or something of that nature against the University of Michigan but surberg found those found a little room got it up for the first down but I think he's going to be a penalty against vision [Music] well the clock stop to the 11:40 remaining we got a whole honey offense that's one of the few penalties in this football game we haven't had very many that's what will be stepped off you can rave all you want about the Michigan defense but this Michigan offense take it down against a good defensive team Minnesota's defensive football team is a good football team well they they only they had prior to this game 16.4 points scored against them for game that's not a bad that's a football team [Music] caravan the ball here about 36 yard line Bruce Holmes tripped him up so the rows of all hopes of Michigan and continue they'll be taking on Ohio State next week while we are in Iowa for the Iowa Minnesota game and it looks like it will be one of those three in there Iowa Michigan or Ohio State going to Pasadena it's coming right down to the wire to go for the first down surprise back to throw complete a one-hopper the intended receiver cam Higgins Donovan small back in the coverage for the Gophers [Music] Michigan of course will cut again and Lonnie Robbins checks back in he's been a pretty decent kicker this year he's 39.5 but very little return weekend approaches out saw him on that last play when he hit that little chip shot that stopped on the one-yard line if he could do that again that just looking looking Michigan is going to stop the clock and take a timeout here only ten men on the field didn't have enough players on the field when you get ahead you can get confused too Michigan certainly is a hit this football game 48 to nothing against Minnesota so the timeout had to be taken by Michigan look alike put down the Bluehost is done here I know Minnesota fans have to be very disappointed today and they were looking for a very close game at least and that hasn't happened I got some scores Michigan State 19 to nothing over northwestern Wisconsin 12 Ohio State 7 in the third quarter Iowa and Purdue are tied in the second quarter there's the punt by Robins and this one will not stop for about air force 14 to nothing over Brigham Young 14 to nothing at the end of the first period Kentucky 13 Florida 15 that's a final and here in Minneapolis it is 48 Minnesota has the ball with 10 49 to go in the game they trail 48 nothing Alan Holt in there in quarterback again and they need some perks they kind of travel a long way today if they get 20,000 yards I guarantee that in 10 minutes and 49 seconds they might be able to put more than 48 points on the scoreboard Rehana ground all over 64,000 here today and the game that's already been decided escort they homes of oliveria gets it out to about the 23 yard line but it's a great place to watch a football game it's very comfortable and it's enclosed and there's not any car there's no need and you don't have to wear all those we mention here the Minnesota fans we're hoping to have lawyers be a real factor of this game at Michigan so completely dominated this thing right from the outset that it was only a factors very briefly in the first quarter you're right [Music] you'll be shy of the first down he stopped at the 29-yard line know some good history going on Michigan obviously has an awful lot of those second stringers in right now so they're getting some good play and they want to show both just exactly what they can do [Music] as the Michigan fans they're very happy today fact a robber three coming in tomorrow 9 minutes 41 seconds remaining the clock moving this will be a third down less than they are to go over the first down you think it himself as the first down after the 36 yard line Vaughn Schulte making the tackle for Michigan from stuck through a little hole over on the right side with a quarterback option Allen hold he studies a French but he's out there to perform a doctor to show his wares to his coach Lou Holtz while here very close to the Michigan football program when this season began Bo Schembechler said I'm going to have a better football team but I don't think the expected he was gonna have the juggernaut that he's got right now I don't think so either what he's at me [Music] the 48-yard line played by a hope but hope is heard and he's limping off the field here's that young freshman he got hit very hard on the leg and it could be that he did injure a nice Oh Minnesota's going to have to replace it once Ricki foggy so foggy checks back in as Holt is shaken up and Paul was moving the football club they watch him here out out here he gets hit right here on the meet you'll see just as he just as he pitches the ball he's going to get hit right there boom it's a first down at the 48 yard line Michigan [Music] unable to find any Running Room stopped right at the line of scrimmage it'll be second down Doug Mallory in on the hit along with Andre MacIntyre penetration by that Michigan defense that's what they've continued to do it that's what stop that wishbone offense you just can't run it if if somebody gets all that penetration it they're looking at his maybe his ankle I guess instead of the thing go Alan Holt being tended to on the Minnesota side line and second down tianbao clock moving and a half minutes remaining in the game Michigan way to get 48 nothing a 32-yard line on it could be disastrous those who are usually if a guy's running like that there's your flag good catch for 23 yards by Kevin starts in it and a good throw by Ricky bogie but if the clip against Minnesota side everything is for naught and that sort of tells the story of the kind of day it's been for the Gophers even when they make a good play at 23 yard games they get 15-yard totally Ricky foggy back at the throne spot to take Kevin Starks into star child was to do with the ball you avoids a couple of tackles there get downfield clip mean on the offense second down I'm still crit Randall and Tim Schulte bring him down so that brings the ball that clipping penalty back to the 48 yard line where it'll be second down at 10 exactly where it started [Music] by the line to the right side rocky Gaylord is wide left [Music] to run the ball gets it to about the 45 yard line he'll be seven yard child first down Marty ciacco making the tackle full of Michigan good coverage downfield by the University of Michigan [Music] Wow he now 11 carries for 18 yards there's a young man there's papa what a great day he's had he's just a great performing a very heady cleared waited was patient and led his team through 48 points and he'll be back next year Ricky buggy back to throw fresh air gets rid of it the fastest bike at the 23-yard line first down minnesota david arnold the freshman from warren ohio back in the coverage for michigan speaking of pleasure patients Ricky Fogg he certainly did there he was being pressured by Tim Schulte coming over from the left side but he threw the ball a little bit off-balance pounds couch and it's a first down than 23 art game Minnesota hoping they get some points on the board against this highly touted defense there it is just like we told you nice throw into that zone defense David Arnold could not cover first down in the 23 a gain of about three Jim Harbaugh he throws the three touchdowns today all of that in the first half and it's done a great job 12 out of 15 207 Garrett that's not a 50 is it 12 out a good day he was 12 in a 13 last week she thought a couple of pretty good games back to back he hasn't played here in the second half e 2nd down 7 [Music] first down the Gophers tried to get something on the board we'll have a first and goal Greg Randall made the stop once again Michigan has a substitute team on the field right now but look at Ricky foggy he really can't run that often and when he gets you when he gets you suckered like that he's got to come see he can really run with the ball and he gets it right down to the 10-yard line for him for a first down 12 carries for 33 yards they mark the ball just inside the 10 so it's a first and goal with six minutes 25 seconds remaining Minnesota trying to get some points on the board here in the fourth quarter [Music] the Abercrombie and - about the 7-yard line rivers making the stop [Music] drinking buggy on the ground Gregg ah no checking into the tight end spot so now it'll be second and goal from the seven [Music] as Michigan football team standing up on the sidelines they don't want to be Guinea and they have they haven't had 50 touchdowns scored against [Music] go foggy back to throw still looking down he goes it's a 15-yard line the ball is loose but I think it was blown dead it was that was Steve Vibert getting his hands on Ricki foggy well fixed Eve really came in on Ricky didn't he man up say I want this defense is holding again watch Ricky foggy coming out here cipher put that great pressure on him number 86 there he is look at him great tackle right down on the ground a loss on the play and third down and 12 and third down for a touchdown now maybe they'll hold him on anyway the ball mark just shy of a 12 yard line you could see the defense over on the sidelines these guys are really encouraging their pills there's there's number 66 standing over there Mike Hammerstein he's the first one up there yelling it at his and his teammates on the field no no score [Music] on the receiving end and only the third tab is here touchdown has been scored against Michigan [Music] [Applause] many people here but I'll tell you what they really are supporting Minnesota football team Brittany bunky berry pension goes back to pass finally finds any hair in the endzone touchdown only the third against this Michigan moral victory of sorts for the golfers as they get on the scoreboard there in the final quarter complimentary that's good and it's the first extra point of the year you've seen it here first so it has not been a completely empty day for the Gophers after all with 442 remaining it is now 48 seven Michigan we'll be right back this is super football Saturday on Turner [Music] here's the touchdown Andi hair roll out by Ricki foggy finds him in the end zone there it is touchdown only the third one of the year the extra boys first one of the year 13 plays 80 yards 607 and you so do you see that'll be a little bit of encouragement for Lou Holtz he can he can really put his teeth into something at least they got off the scoreboard a lot of other people have been able to get below Miller drive to kick all the way into the end zone Jamie Morris will not run it out and Michigan will take over on the 20-yard line we always got a lot of we have to think a lot of people inside II up here for the University of Minnesota Bob Peterson and his staff is assistant Tommy a green ho who gave us that that film on on our pal fog he'll of course
