Metal Detecting finds GOLD Laguna Beach Treasure Hunting 2021

[Music] [Applause] so guys we are back to metal detecting the beach today and they must allow your dog to come out here huh if they're putting out the doggy bags these are a lot of stairs here but this is not thousand step beach so we are metal detecting laguna beach today and they are doing some building right next to me here used to be a house i think it was a house or i know it was an empty lot for a while i don't remember what was there before but they really are doing a great job i'll give you guys a peek see really all that so the concrete work is getting poured foundations being set beautiful i can hear the waves and it's a little chilly out today i've talked to a few of my friends that have been skin boarding out here they haven't seen any detectors out here or they don't remember if they did usually when i ask them they're like uh yeah nah i don't remember but when i see him at the wedge so you see any detail oh yeah man i did yeah you know stuff like that but this beach is beautiful it's got sand that's why i'm here there wasn't much sand the last time i was here so when they pushed some sand in maybe they pushed some other stuff with it hi how are you doing all right did you ever find any good treasures i do i do yeah if you ever want to see i have a youtube channel called fun with jim really yeah you'll be surprised what i find thank you all right i don't know if you guys have ever seen this beach i don't know too many detectorists that come here because they really don't know where to park all right i just put the 15 inch coil on all right and i am freezing cold i'm in shorts i got my jacket on you know that's how i roll so at one time this beach used to be so sandy that uh um you couldn't see these rocks that are right out here never knew those rocks existed and then a big southern hurricane you know never hurricane never really hit this area but the big swells do right okay guys got my first target here i'm thinking probably just a quarter or a dime or a penny or something crusty all right that's gonna need some cleaning to identify that's an interesting 28 on that all right got another target right here man looks like a crusty dime man the thing is i think it's just a clad dime seems thin all right in the pouch it goes this was a loud screamer here probably another dime huh no that's aluminum cannon what is that what is that huh okay it's a dog tag all right that's a modern dog tag okay he's got to check this area out here refill that hole back up so this area didn't have much sand in it and whoo it is stinky wow like old nastiness okay guys i figured i'd show you this area a little bit i am only reason i'm all the way back out here is because i'm this is the area where i'll start looks like somebody's private access to their home here pretty cool i like it nice gated locked gate easy access up i mean well if you can climb stairs i guess it's easy access but take a look at that i think i don't know if you guys can see it but here it's just sitting right on top we can't call it a sun breaker no it's just been exposed or pushed in it's actually dry is that a modern one heavy i think it's just clad yeah just clad all right this is where i'm at now this is where the basically the hunt begins for me you have to watch the waves as they come in here a lot of sand got pushed up in here so i'm hoping that it's nice and quiet and then it just anything gold just rings like a bell but you saw that the upper plateau up there is what exposed that so this whole area right here the upper area probably might pay off a little bit better but the only way to know this lower area is to get down in there and the way the tides are today there's no really high or low tide like right now it's going the tides going out but it's not going to get much lower than that it's one of those choppy conditions so i'm going to concentrate on this upper area and there's a little bit of a cut up here we're going to work that area and then i'm going to show you from up here this beach and how far down i don't know if you guys have ever seen this one on camera i don't know if any of the detectorists in this area have taken you to this beach and uh i don't keep my beaches secret because they're open to the public and these beaches in laguna change every day so feel free to detect them every single day of the week as you will see this sand is always changing see the coarse gravel on the top a little tiny rocks on the top and then the fluffy white sand on the bottom see you can see it's constant change occurs in this beach one day 10 gold rings will get pushed in if there's 10 gold rings that could be pushed in out here you know and then and then the next 30 years there's nothing [Laughter] because most of these beaches on the west coast the everything is continuously dragged out so diving out here is a different story but there's laws out here i don't even know if you're allowed to dive in this spot so i don't think you can fish here either this is uh surfing skim boarding those type activities so guys i was just walking along here and i want to show you the size of this rock this came from out here those are the size of the rocks that are just right offshore here and that's what you would normally find here well you could see a little bit of sand but um when that hurricane i think in hurricane mary or something like that several years ago he like exposed those rocks and maybe a little bit more of that a few more of this stuff back here i mean it took a lot of sand off of this beach and really i had a good successful year that year you know but um as i do with any el nino year or you know big storm event that comes from the south as well as the northern you just gotta know which beaches are facing which way and this is always a afterthought this beach it's not the one i target because it doesn't get a high volume but the volume of people it does get have money they have money these guys walk their dogs down on the beach almost every day i know it doesn't look like much on the outside of this this side but that's a nice place guys oh that's even nicer we're going to be walking in front of there that's the royale laguna royale that's a homeowner's association they like trying to keep this beach private but it is public access i got here right i'm jim public but it's beautiful this whole areas i love the homes all right the sun is finally coming over the hill oh yeah it's gonna be beautiful today guys i can hear some sea lions talking that's about it been quiet all right it's been a while since i've heard a target and i walked up here in the bushes near the entrance to the really nice homeowner association there all right let's just scoop it deeper huh out there's a quarter nice and clean see 1998. all right my eyes can see that one all right come on brothers and sisters and cousins this area i just kind of work real slow and then i am going up and down up and down so i came to the upper area because i do i find change up here quite often near the entrances where people grab their keys and and uh you know to get back in the facility right on the face of this cut so some are like right in here oh oh my gosh that's heavy and look at that crusty dime that's why it pays to go slow over those walls walls of that look at that that looks clad and old crusty i love coins like this and sometimes i like them to be not dimes something cool and different all right into the pouch see if there's anything else up here all right and below this cut probably about uh 16 17 feet and it finally came across a chirp sounds like a dime hopefully it's something better [Music] out give it a kick here there it is nice crusty dime yeah everything today is crusty it'll be fun to clean saw some people practicing tai chi another guy practicing his volleyball serve it is beautiful out today this morning got another target right here i think it's deep iron whatever it is it is deep i'm guessing tent stake maybe out of the hole or nothing that sounded pretty good for a second well maybe oh man this one is making me work solid 24 out yeah is that a dime again dime dime we'll take those all the time yeah that's awesome that is awesome yeah i'm getting dimes huh that was deep that was deep okay got another target right here right on the inside bend of an old trough drop was probably 24-36 hours ago now i'm done or penny nice and coppery green so almost everything i believe used to be in the ocean this you know these aren't from the dry sand this is from the because the sand level was much much lower this is a lot of sand for this area especially in this back corner here a lot more sand since the last time i was here for sure this area was fairly rocky right where i'm standing was rocky and you know probably that's probably 12 more feet of sand in height than the last time i was here that's not a very good target but you never know now it's awful sounding that's not a good target yeah when you take a scoop like that and then you get you be good 15 16 let's go 90 degrees oh be gold for me be gold the quest to the golden bottle cap not grunts it's just lower oh you sounds like one heck of a nice clean bottle cap man bottle cap is out bottle cap oh it's not even a bottle cap it's one of them thingies now do you guys know what that is piece of aluminum i think it's uh something that's supported i've been finding with things that like that that are like a little bit smaller than that or the nose rims on the masks you can find a lot of those okay well we're getting targets in the wetter sand so come on gold this thing's so loud it sounds like aluminum can for a second maybe another copper penny almost sounds like a vape and it's ringing at 22. what is that dog tag huh what is that let's go wash this off how beautiful it is guys you know i couldn't wait to get out of bed this morning i massage my dog's legs for about 15 minutes something broken off is what it is okay barcelona i'm guessing that's what that is barcelona so barcelona something broke off of it so we'll have to figure that one out that's kind of cool all right i prefer gold i prefer silver and but i prefer to find things and not nothing you guys see it how you doing yes you see it oh my gosh oh my god all right you got too many lucky lose going on right here i'm just gonna put that in the pouch guys and we could talk about that later i uh did put the knocks over at first guys and i saw that glistening had to turn the camera on let's get back to this maybe there's more to it let me get back in here yeah i think we just want to take another dig here but i think what happened is if you can see up here people were sitting on that ledge kind of see their butt butt print i think that's a fresh ball i think that's a fresh goal i mean you see how shiny it was right it's not any erosion but i know gold takes a little while to erode all right got a loud 26 right here maybe another dime or penny or a metal something hulk buster okay man that thing is heavy though man must be a fresh ball kids toy and i'm right near these stairs going up to somebody's private gate but it is also where everybody walks over the rocks and most of them are taking a beeline of those restrooms just like i'm going to normally there'd be a flag up showing the conditions dogs are not permitted on the beaches between 9 a.m and 6 p.m from june 15 to september 10th well that is clear explanation so when haley's feeling better she can come here all right she loves new beaches all right right up against this wall is that it right there baby see maybe right here real rocky here got it i think it's just gonna be a dime or a penny and there's a penny i think all right and memorial penny all right you know i detect weird spots guys okay i stumbled over maybe a penny sounds like it's right there out and it is a thin penny wow that thing's been in the ocean being hammered by by rocks there's a thin penny so push in but not enough heavy stuff guys on to the next 21 here all right and there's the crusty penny all right slowly working my way out of here it's been fairly quiet even though we did have a nice score all right bottle cap not sure yeah there it is angry orchard why is an orchard angry okay guys we're gonna wrap it up here it's been really quiet even though we did find something pretty nice did get a little bit of change here yep there's that healer i mean the stairs we're gonna climb i'm shutting everything down okay at least it's not quite thousand step beach it's 999. all right we'll get up here and do a u-turn all right so we started down there and then worked another three quarters of a mile that direction which we can't see but skin borders are just showing up maybe they're boogie boarders skin boarders not much action for them right now but there's sand on that beach which is what we want okay guys hey guys here's the wrap-up it was a fun day down there today i always love going to laguna beach guys so here's my garbage got a pair of zilla's the sunglasses dog tag was like one of my first targets or second targets ring up like um like a dime and i believe that one did too maybe more like a quarter it is heavy must be like uh die cast or something sorry planes are going over and this thing says barcelona on it but it's clearly been broken i'll have to see what it looks like when it's cleaned up but i got a few pennies looks like seven and i got four dimes and two quarters am i forgetting something oh oh yes i am not really i am not forgetting that omg so here's the thing that's an awfully big chain guys awfully big chain and the clasps are broken off of it there's no there's no class i sent a picture to a photographer buddy and she believes that this is actually a made to go around the waist of a young lady not sure i can tell you this much each one of these is heavy each one of them so i know that's gold so let's find out what kind of carrot it is okay guys putting a little scratch on here i don't see any issues with that let me get that light a little bit closer here all right i don't remember where i made the scratch from pretty good scratch these chains are usually about 18 karat so let's start off with 18 karat i'm doing some computer updating right now guys so my computer may turn on and off and it may make some noise okay 18 carat looks like it dissolved all the way through so let's go with 14 karat it looks like 14 karat is staying strong i would call that 14 karat gold okay guys let's get a weight on this 21.94 grams guys i always love finding gold and 20 21's been a great year for gold chains for me i love it this has just been great now i can't tell you if it's i know it's a gold chain right 14 karat gold shade they can't tell you if it goes around their waist it goes around their neck or what it is but it is a gold chain i will tell you that much so it weighs approximately about 22 grams and at 32 grams about 700 bucks i imagine a little over 700 in scrap value of course i value things at scrap value but it's worth a lot more than that i'm sure that there's probably some kind of a designer for it and that's what i'm going to research on if i can find the designer what i will do is i will pay for it to be repaired correctly and that will up the
