I wonder why the part was cast first in plaster, and then that mold was put into greensand? Couldn't you just pour the metal into the plaster cast?

Polymaker makes a cool filament specifically for this that can be smoothed with IPA. Really cool application of 3d printing!

Nice job! Few questions though:

  • does PLA vaporize? There is hardly any dust after heating it in the plaster.

  • if so, can you use molten aluminium and pour it directly on the PLA print covered in greensand?
