us and that is it's a warning give no place to the devil hallelujah let me read something to you from ii corinthians chapter 2 verse 11. the bible says lest satan should get an advantage of us for we are not ignorant of his devices you know there are many things people don't know about satan the bible is letting us know here he is an opportunist and if you don't play into his hands it's not going to get you ephesians 4 27 says give no place to the devil that means they want to call satan he needs a space to operate if you don't give him that space he cannot operate in your life in other words do not put yourself in a position that will make it for the devil to take advantage of you where you are going is great and you cannot allow the trap set by the enemy to catch you see there is a story in the bible that actually mirrors this the bible says the days when kings were going to battle david stayed at all it was that time that he saw bathsheba having a bath what about in the king bible say give no place to the devil once you are where you ought not to be you are already giving the devil an opportunity to take advantage of you hallelujah but it's a story i love so much that is a warning to all of us especially ministers in numbers 22 balak the king of muab wanted to hire balaam to help him cause israel it's a story you are familiar with he sent officials we give to bala to persuade them to come and curse israel when balance saw them he went to pray and god told him that no you can't cause god's people they are blessed balaam understood divine plan that israel was to be blessed israel was to be left alone but you see as the people continue to put pressure on him they get sent more dignitaries with bigger gifts balance started caving in you know from don't go to okay eventually he heard god saying okay go but mind what to say when you get there at this moment he had already given a place to the devil because when he got there he still wanted to cut them three times for that matter the bible says we are not ignorant of his devices in other words follow what the bible says flee temptation there is a position you can put yourself no matter how well-meaning you are you are going to compromise there are places you should not go to there are people you should not be too close to [Music] for instance it might not be good to go visit opposing sex alone that you know you have an attraction for these are common steps that believers take to open the door for the enemy it's like smelling what you don't want to eat you might end up eating it so this morning i believe i'm speaking to somebody maybe you are planning to go somewhere today that your spirit man forbids that the word of god forbids trying to build a relationship are you watching me are you already close to somebody it's not your spouse it's not but you are close to the person and the temptation is growing the bible says give no place to the devil lest it takes advantage of you for you are not ignorant of his devices so we are being admonished this morning don't place game he's gonna win don't step into his arena you can't defeat him there in the sense of don't play his game don't be where you should not be do not watch what a christian shouldn't be watching hallelujah there are places where you go to they can choke you and you find yourself taking wrong steps so the bible says give no place to the devil i pray for everyone watching me this morning going through one temptation or the other that god will lift you above that temptation if there are dogs who need to close by you yourself go quickly and close those doors either relationships you need to withdraw from stop if there are things to delete from your phone delete them quickly give no place when you give satan one foot it will turn into one acre just one look almost destroy david's family just one look there are looks you should not look i pray the lord will strengthen you to say no and to do the right
