someone to kiss and make me forget about you and maybe someone will give me a sigh and i'll pretend i never lost you [Music] but then again when i think of the past i might be reminded of [Music] and not someone like you so maybe i'll find someone to kiss and make me forget about you and maybe someone will give me a sigh and i'll pretend i never lost you but then again when i think of the past i might be reminded of you [Applause] [Music] and make me forget about you and maybe someone will give me a sigh and i'll pretend i never lost you but then again when i think of the past i might be reminded of [Applause] [Music] you [Applause] well the first part of the show a while ago i mentioned about the little jimmy helping me get on columbia records and he really did because he had to come out through phoenix arizona at one time and that's when i was working out there and on a radio station he came up to be on my program and it just happened that fella was in the house that jimmy knew real well it had a lot to say about you know certain things like putting people on records and things like that jimmy put in a good word for me and i appreciate it let's make him real welcome out here again all right [Applause] [Music] [Applause] my old lady's getting older and her love's growing cold and all we ever do is fuss and fight it don't do no good scolder cause her feet are even colder she puts certain things on me every night [Music] your lowdown [Music] [Applause] [Music] don't [Music] [Music] get them cold feet over on the other side before a slapstick [Music] when my teeth begin to chatter then she yelled out what's better and all i can do is lay it wide get them cool feet over on the other side just curling toes around the other way [Music] [Music] well that's about all the time we have for this time folks we'll be back again someday before we go i want to thank little jimmy dickens i want to thank june carter mother maybelline the carter sisters gordon terry and i want hall of fame classic country memory right now here is [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] for the alabama jew buddy [Music] so [Music] for the alabama here's a group of fellas now that saying the types of song that you like now and in fact they well they do any type they do any types he was mentioning but this type they do here is what they're known for let's get them out and make them feel real good while old hickory quartets things don't walk this path no more down a little away from my house further down the mountainside that is a girl named betty who was always ready to [Music] i went and told her mother that we loved one another and i don't [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] hanging on the mountainside [Music] [Music] [Music] no more don't walk the path no more my grannies i've walked to many one since i was a kid the fact is they've got all different kinds past was born and raised and uh well here's the feather i'm fixing to bring on now that walks any kind of path any direction and he always brings good will anytime he comes on the show or walking past this make him feel real welcome now the ambassador goodwill dr lou children hello and thank you very much hello my friends for the day will be under the direction of professor red taylor professor will you exercise the old man please sir thank you i'm ready [Music] [Music] uh lou childress i granted that's one way to walk a path here's some fellas now that we we think walks past pretty good in fact they don't do much walking they ride a lot different boats and horses and everything they all over more than they are anywhere else most time they've been back to grand ole opry for a long time everybody loves them wherever they go come around guber creek uh alabama i believe is where they're from they so funny they that sometimes you wonder if you're laughing at them or whether they've got you hypnotized let's make them feel real good lines on oscar i don't know where they are hey tommy where are where do i put them out there behind the barn oh here they are oh my god if you guys will get out down let's do a little bit of work here yeah lob's always going me and jody's gonna write him but he wouldn't let right both of us write him so cousin had to lead him in for us glad you got him here i'll tell you right here's the longest i ever seen that we always have an argument with every time we start to sing it cousin jody and oscar and tommy always has an argument over this and so tonight we'd like to sing it let you folks kind of figure it out one called i'm my own grandpa now it is hard to believe ain't it it's sure if it'll work out it sounds funny i know but it really is so [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] now many many years ago when i was 23 i was married to a winner who was pretty as could be this winner had a grown-up daughter who had heard a brain my father fell in love with her and soon they do her well this made my dad my son-in-law and changed my fairy lights my daughter was my mother cause she was my father's wife to complicate the matter even though it brought me joy i soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy my little baby then became a brother-in-law today and so became my goal though it made me very sad for if he was my uncle then that also made him brother how the winner's grown-up daughter who of course was my stepmother i'm my own grandpa hallelujah i'm my own grandpa it sounds funny i know but it really is [Music] [Applause] name put your instruments down and get with them while you're don't do an operating square dance but let me get the mule off [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] uh the word answer is grand old opera square dancers neighbors we like to sing fast songs funny songs in fact we like to do all types of songs and act all different ways at times but there's a lot of times we like to feel serious and do serious numbers at this time i'd like to do a number that we have out on capitol records it's a true story about a little boy that we met in wichita kansas while we were on a tour we call it little toms little tom what will be your face little tom will you be someone great [Music] do you know right from wrong are they teaching you at home or have they turned you loose to rome little town i walked into a cafe and ordered myself something to eat when a little boy walked in with his shoes half off his feet he said buy paper mister i said how old are you son seven sir when my papers are sold i'll be on my way home what's your name thomas but everybody calls me little tom they named me after my daddy but they say i look like my mom i said well it's almost midnight son you should be home asleep he said i know it but i want to buy me a bicycle and i gotta help mommy buy something to eat my daddy's pretty mean to us and he spends most of his money for wine and he don't hold a job like other men because well he gets fired all the time i said has something to eat you hungry son he said i guess a little bit i believe i'll have a hamburger and a glass of milk to go with it i said is that enough he said make it two because i ain't eat since noon i bit my lip and fought back tears as i watched the little guy leave the cafe and i wondered how many more children would be brought up that way little tall what will be your face [Applause] now friends here's the welburn brothers teddy and don [Applause] barton let me be the first to [Music] [Applause] [Music] because i love you soul but if you should ever find that you don't love me darling let me be the first to [Music] [Applause] be the one to come and tell me so please don't let me hear it from another start and let me be the first to know [Music] [Applause] [Music] i've seen it happen to so many others they seem to find their love has grown cold but they don't have the heart to tell each other darling let me be the first to know it would break my heart to find that you don't love me it would be so hard for me to let you go but if you should ever find you love another darling let me be the first to know [Music] thanks so much wilburn brothers neighbors no show is complete without any comedy as most of you know and especially a country top show and grand old opera shows are never complete without a lot of funniness and we don't know if any two funnier people than minnie pearl and
