Memorial grows for murdered Manoa family as community grieves senseless tragedy

Honolulu police are still investigating the motive for a mass murder that happened in monoa over the weekend HPD says Paris OD stabbed his wife and three children to death before taking his own life Island news looked into oda's criminal background but found he had no History of Violence employees tell us a faced financial difficulties late last year now there still is a growing memorial for the odas outside their home on vaa place our cameras captured friends and classmates of the children setting up flowers and balloons along the side of the home Otis children were in elementary school middle and in high school we spoke to one of the classmates of Nana the middle child she was like competitive so like I could compete with her and like also get better at the same time and overall she had a pretty good personality and it's kind of sad to see how it ended up like this way Sakura Co the oldest CH daughter was a senior at eani school this is an image of the chapel on campus where the school held special Chapel Services so students could come together to process the news of sakurako's death Mental Health Counselors say that social connection helps students feel less isolated during this grieving process and while everyone Grieves differently counselors say that it's important for parents parents to also stay connected to their children their behavior their routines their grades that's a really good clue that something's going on that's bothering them so a lot of kids and teenagers will really actually present more through their behavior less through what they say well Charter School seeks where Orion Oda attended crisis counselors have also been made available for students families and school person who need help to deal with these deaths
