Meet Storm our new baby Platypus

So baby Storm was actually born all the way back in November last year this is when she was laid as an egg her mum incubated the egg for about ten days and then she hatched and she's been living underground in that nesting burrow where I haven't been able to see her for the last four months and the day she emerged from her burrow it was a very dark and stormy day and this baby platypus who had never seen anything of the world before was out swimming around she was very confident she was sassing her mother and I thought this little girl needs a strong name Storm it was Her mum Watterrangg is a first time mum and to my surprise she's actually been an incredible mum she's been so attentive and even though her baby is out swimming around in the water and no longer needs her to look after her they still choose to sleep together in the same nest box and they play together every night when they go for a swim
