We were lucky enough to do a Meerkat experience in South Africa where you get to encounter a family of wild Meerkats from a distance. What they do is that the sentry will send out a repetitive call while the group moves on. As soon as the group moves out of earshot another member of the group will then act as a sentry and climb to the highest point it can while calling out. As soon as the original sentry sees this then it will run over and join the rest of the group.
By doing this the group can continuously move while always having at least 1 sentry keeping an eye out :)
They may be cute, but meerkats are the most murderous mammal known to mankind. One in every five meerkat deaths is the result of being murdered by another meerkat. Wow.
Jesus Christ that camera lens is gigantic

So, if all the meerkats take off running does the cameraman know shits about to go down?
Damn it, I'm not dyslexic but I just realized I've been mentally saying meekrats instead of meerkats for who knows how long now
