Measure Amps (non-contact, DC) on a car

I'm going to show you how to measure amps with a clamp-on ammeter it this one measures other than amps it measures volts ohms capacitance whatever I set it to 600 amps the biggest possible and DC not AC as this is a 12 volt DC battery or batteries are DC okay you don't have to guess anything there and I'm just going to clamp around it here all the power is going to flow through there through that those cables to the starter motor when this one fires off and I'm gonna set it to measure maximum ampacity there all I need is to fire this thing off well you should have a number under display now other than zero point whatever it was there 217 amps that's massive my previous measurement was 280 it does vary a little bit so you can average them out so there you go that's how you can use a non-contact yeah I know in contact a meter there you go
