MCU Secretly Sets Up Giant Villain Team for Phase 6 - Captain America 4, Spider-Man 4 & Armor Wars

[Applause] a good friend of mine once say the price of freedom is [Applause] [Music] high it always will [Music] be yo what up what up everyone Tay here and today I just wanted to do a shorter kind of theory Talk video to talk some more about the grounded and street level MCU in light of some of the stuff that happened in the Echo series that came out a few days ago so there will be some Echo spoilers not a lot but I am going to talk a bit about what happened in the post credit scene so just in case you haven't seen that show yet and you don't want to to be spoiled you know fair warning and then I also figured I'm not someone who regularly does review videos but I will just say I thought that echko was pretty decent like it was definitely a lot better than I was expecting it to be based on everything that we were hearing about the show before it came out and I think it was a lot better than some of the other recent Disney Plus shows that we've seen by Marvel um but it did still kind of fall apart in the finale in my opinion at least which is an unfortunate thing that we've seen happen with a lot of these different Disney Plus shows but one good thing that is worth noting with that is that we do know that Ekko and some of the other Disney Plus shows that'll come out later this year were filmed before Marvel Studios started putting into place these new changes for how they will do the Disney Plus shows with traditional showrunners and you know show Bibles and all that stuff so I don't think this is going to be an ongoing problem now that they are making these changes but I did feel like even though the show was a lot better than I was expecting it to be that the finale did succumb to a lot of the same problems that we've seen in past Disney Plus shows but yeah like I said I'm not going to do a whole echo review but I did just think I would at least throw out my kind of overall thoughts on the show and that I was pleasantly surprised for the most part and thought it was pretty good until the finale and even the finale wasn't awful it was just a few things that didn't work and some really messy rushed editing but I do think it's definitely worth watching if you're an MCU fan and haven't watched it yet especially if you're a fan of like the more grounded kind of street level Netflix Marvel shows and stuff like that because it did have a Vibe much closer to those shows but anyways before we get into it just a quick reminder that if you are new to the channel and a fan of Marvel and the MCU then you should definitely subscribe to the stabilize this situation before it viral out of control okay so in the post-credit scene of the echo finale we basically get confirmation that Kingpin will become the mayor of New York in Daredevil born again and this is something I talked a lot about in the last video from a few days ago which was posted before Ekko was released and I definitely think you guys should check out that video if you missed it because it goes into great detail about how this whole street level Kingpin Saga that is being set up will start to truly kick off in Daredevil born again and how it could then culminate in this giant street level War event film in New York in Spider-Man 4 and you know there's a lot of other stuff I talk about in that video besides just that but it is a good one and after seeing Ekko I feel like most of what I talked about in that video has just been solidified so I don't really think I need to do another video kind of going over the same theories so you guys should definitely check it out if you haven't seen it yet and you're excited about the street level and grounded MCU stuff coming up because I do think it's a good one but anyways um going back to the echo post credit scene so what we see happen in that scene is we of course see the tease of Wilson Fisk becoming the mayor of New York in Daredevil born again but that was not the only hint at Future storylines that I think we might have gotten in that post-credit scene because when Fisk first sits down inside of his private jet we can see that he's still visibly shaken by what Maya did to him with her new powers and the first thing he says to his assistant is he tells her to assemble all of the remaining heads because quote we need to stabilize this thing before it spirals out of control and when I first saw this post-credit scene of course I was excited about you know Marvel Studios confirming the whole mayor Fisk story line coming up in Daredevil born again and likely Spider-Man 4 and how that will likely you know adapt from the devil's rain Saga but the bigger question that I had was who are these remaining heads that Fisk is referencing and what even is you know these heads and also what is it that Fisk wants to get under control before it spirals out of control well I think what Fisk is probably referencing when he says they need to get this under control is probably just the superhumans and superpowered people in general problem considering that he just encountered mayia using her powers on him that seems to make sense because even if we go back to the original Netflix Defender Saga which now appears to be official Cannon to the MCU by the way this is the first time we've really ever seen Fisk go up against someone with full-on superpowers and as Fisk gets into his jet and he's still shaken by what Maya did to him this is when he sees the news clip about the mayor race in New York and how there is not currently a front runner so this experience with Maya could be what actually inspires Fisk to run as the mayor of New York on this anti- superhuman anti-vigilante campaign just like he did in the devil's Reign comic run where Fisk became the mayor of New York and then outlawed vigilantism and then assembled his own Thunderbolts team to go out there and arrests superheroes who weren't abiding by this new law but let's go back to this question of who these remaining heads are that Fisk referenced well one possibility is that the remaining heads are just other people high up at Fisk industries that Fisk works with I mean that is definitely a possibility I think it would be kind of a boring anti-climatic possibility you know it wouldn't be something that was super exciting but I do have to admit that it could just be something kind of in like that however one of the theories that I briefly mentioned in the last video was how I think that Kingpin could potentially be a member of this sort of secretive anti-s superhuman cabal that's made up of different characters from within the government or other high levels of power around the world and some of the names I mentioned when discussing that theory and other members besides Fisk who could also be involved in a team like this were Thaddius Ross Valentina and Sadie dver because like Fisk these are all characters who have also shown a lot of disdain for superhumans and Vigilantes and they are also characters who are in high levels of power within the government because as we know Valentina is the director of the CIA and will also be revealed as the Director of the Thunderbolts in the Thunderbolts movie and then Kevin feige has confirmed that thus Ross will be revealed as the new president in Captain America 4 and then there's also sad dver a top agent at damage control and another thing I also mentioned in that last video is how Kingpin could possibly be behind damage control and funding it and possibly be the one responsible for turning damage control from basically this you know Disaster Cleanup Crew to this superhuman enforcement group that it is now and the reason for this is because Kingpin was actually a part owner of damage control in the comics so definitely I wouldn't be surprised if Kingpin is also revealed to be connected or funding damage control in the MCU so yeah after seeing the echo post credit scene I started thinking yeah maybe this Theory really isn't that crazy perhaps the remaining heads that Fisk mentioned will actually be this secretive cabal of powerful officials who all share the same goal of outline superheroes and Vigilantes so that they can control what super humans do and use them to their advantage just like what Thaddius Ross wanted to do with the Avengers back in Phase 3 because we know that this is what Fisk does he has his public front but then behind the scenes he is always secretly conspiring with others to build up his power and status I mean if we go back to the original Daredevil Series in that we saw how Fisk was secretly working with the hand the FBI and he also ended up controlling all of the New York crime bosses and often times he was able to do all of this while still keeping his public face and continuing to have a large amount of support from the citizens of New York and after I posted that last video I started thinking about other characters who could also be involved in this anti-s superhuman cabal and I have to give credit to Colby on Twitter because he is the one that suggested that it would make sense for Sharon Carter to be involved with a group like this because of what happened with her in Falcon and the Winter Soldier which I have to totally agree because after what happened to Sharon in Phase 3 not only does she now have disdain for superhumans but at the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldier we also saw that she received a full pardon and even got her position back at the CIA only for her to then go outside and make a phone call revealing that she is basically still working as a spy to sell advanced technology so yeah I definitely think Sharon deserves to be on this potential cabal list and then some other characters that I could also see being involved in a group like this are Zemo Justin Hammer Sunny bir Samuel Sterns aka the leader who will return in Captain America 4 and maybe even Shu and the 10 Rings because we know that Sam Rockwell just returned to voice Justin Hammer For What if season 2 and it's been heavily reported that Justin Hammer will also return as one of the villains in the armor Wars movie and then as far as as the leader goes I'm not as sure about what kind of role he will be playing in Captain America for especially since it sounds they are you know reworking a lot of elements of the movie currently but in the comics the leader was directly involved with Thaddius Ross becoming the Red Hulk and we know that when we first saw Samuel Sterns introduced back in The Incredible Hulk movie that just like thadius Ross he was also obsessed with figuring out how to duplicate the Hulk process so it's possible that he could be the key to Thaddius Ross eventually becoming the Red Hulk in Captain America 4 and that maybe Samuel Sterns could even be working for Ross on some kind of new super soldier program to create other hulks as well which could all kind of set up the rumored World War Hulk movie and then another character I mentioned is of course Baron Zemo and this would make a ton of sense because it's no secret that zemo's entire goal is to stop superheroes and superhumans from operating and even though he isn't located within the US he does hold a high level of power in his home country as a high nobleman plus another thing to note on Zemo is that at the end of Falcon in the Winter Soldier Valentina actually makes a comment to John Walker's wife that alludes to her actually being the one who planned the attack with Zemo on the flag Smashers as they were being taken into custody hey Walker or check your phone looks like our friend Zemo kind of got the last laugh couldn't have worked better if I planned it myself oh well maybe I did no I'm kidding I didn't or did I so yeah that little line of dialogue right there would seem to suggest that Valentina has connections with Zemo and that she was actually working with him to take down the remaining flag Smashers and you know we know that characters like Zemo and sunny bur were locked up the last time we saw them but if those characters do have these powerful government connections then it would be easy to see how they could potentially be freed from their captivity the next time we see them because of these connections you know that they could get them out or that their sentences will be up or whatever so yeah but anyways those are some of the characters I think could potentially be involved in some kind of secretive anti-s superhuman team if such a team does end up being revealed and I'm sure there's some other ones that I probably didn't think of so if you guys have other characters from the MCU who you think makes sense to be involved with that definitely leave them in the comments and there has of course been villain team ups similar to this in the comics like for instance there's of course the masters of evil however the main team that comes to mind when I think of a team like this is actually called the cabal and and they also go by the name of the dark Illuminati and this was one of the most powerful super villain teams we've seen in the comics that played a huge role in bis's dark reain and dark Avengers Saga now I should note that this team did go on to have a second iteration that was led by Thanos during Jonathan Hickman's incursion Saga but the original version of this team was led by Norman Osborne and also included characters like Dr Doom neyar the Hood Emma Frost Loki and Taskmaster and this team came together in the aftermath of the secret Invasion story because this is when the public sentiment really started to turn against superheroes like The Avengers as the public instead looked to villainous characters like Norman Osborne to keep them safe because it was actually Norman Osborne and the Thunderbolts who ultimately took down the scroll Queen and ended the secret invasion and following that Norman Osborne was given an award by the government and given a lot of power and credibility which he then used to take control of hammer which was previously shield and also became the new Iron Man and headed up the dark Avengers but another thing that Norman Osborne did behind the scenes when he got this new position of power was he then formed the cabal as a way to unite these Global forces and these different villains under the same goal so yeah it's a pretty similar team and concept to what I've been talking about with this idea of the cabal in the MCU and these different villains all coming together within the government with this anti-s superhuman agenda so maybe going forward into the rest of phase five and phase six we could see Kingpin Val Thaddius Ross and some of these other characters I've been discussing actually form what could be the mcu's version of the cabal from the comics because even though what looks like Daredevil born again and Spider-Man 4 will probably take a lot of influence from the devil's Reign story I do think when it comes to the bigger grounded MCU story that will be happening in Phase five and phase six with other projects like Captain America 4 the Thunderbolts and armor Wars I think a lot of those projects will actually be taking a lot of influence from the dark rain story and the dark rain story very much like the devil's rain story Focus is on the theme of big villains infiltrating the government with anti-s superhuman agendas and passing anti- superhuman and vigilante laws which then forces the Avengers and other big superheroes into a position where they are now Outlaws and have to fight against the government to take these villains down and it looks like this will be a repeating theme in many of these upcoming grounded MCU projects because in Daredevil born again and Spider-Man 4 will likely see Heroes like Daredevil and Spider-Man as Outlaws and being hunted by mayor Fisk and then in Captain America 4 it's reported that we will see Sam Wilson forced into a similar position where he'll go from working for president Ross to becoming an outlaw and fighting against Ross and his regime and then again it looks like this will also be a theme that will pop up in armor Wars because based on the reports that have come out for that movie it sounds like in armor Wars we will see roie being forced to turn against the government after they start developing their own Stark technology and Iron Man suits and we also know that this will likely be a big theme in the Thunderbolts movie where certain characters like Bucky and Taskmaster and Red Guardian will actually be forced to work as superheroes for the government to get their sentences commuted so yeah that one won't be exactly the same but it definitely still fits into this anti-s superhuman theme that I'm talking about so if the dark rain story does end up being a big influence on the grounded MCU going forward then maybe some of the cabal comic characters like maybe neyar the hood and Dr Doom could also end up being involved in the MCU version of this team and don't worry I'm not going to get into a whole Dr Doom will he or won't he be involved with Secret Wars discussion but it has been reported that Dr Doom will likely be introduced in a small role in the fantastic ftic 4 movie so it depends on what Marvel Studios plans are with doom but if he does get introduced in the Fantastic 4 as the leader of Latvia his own country then he definitely is a character that I could see aligning himself with characters like Zemo and different global leaders in this anti-s superhuman agenda as well but you know we'll have to see what happens with that one however there is one other character that I also think could be involved in a cabal like this that I have not brought up yet and that is Mesto because we know that Mesto will be introduced as the villain in the Iron Heart series and it's been reported that the other villain of that show the hood will actually be working for Mesto and that throughout most of that series Mesto will actually be disguised in his human form as a giant Tech billionaire who has imbued the hood with magical powers and then sent him off to steal advanced technology and with misto acting in his human form as this New York Tech billionaire this makes me think of something like Al Pacino's role as the devil and billionaire tycoon in The Devil's Advocate and if that is kind of how Mesto will be introduced into the MCU then I could definitely see him also being involved in a cabal team up like this and perhaps taking on a similar role to the role that Loki had with the cabal in the comics where he could be working with characters like valent Ina and Kingpin and that they probably wouldn't even be aware of his true form as the Lord of Hell causing chaos on Earth they would just think he was this Tech billionaire who's got the same ideas that they do so yeah as always we will have to see what happens because I mean this is all just Theory talk at this point or honestly maybe it's just what I would do if I was in Kevin feige's position and I was thrown in right now into Marvel Studios and just said go this might be something I would going to think of to do with the ground MCU projects going forward considering that we have all of these different anti- superhuman politicians coming into play and all of these Heroes being on the wrong side of the law to fight these corrupt characters like Kingpin and Ross and Valentina I just think it makes sense to have these villains working together towards these similar goals and to be conspiring behind the scenes towards those goals just like the secretive cabal we saw in the comics you know it seems like a logical direction to go so yeah you all let me know what you think and leave your own theories on all of this in the comments below and I think we will call it there for the main section of today's video but like I mentioned earlier we do still have a few different MCU super thanks a happy New Year short question this time for the street level topic when do you think the punish will appear in a project outside of Daredevil or Spider-Man 4 do you think he will be in the multiversal stuff for Secret Wars what's his future like in the MCU outside of the street level stuff and then he also very nicely adds you're the best Channel on YouTube and we will get you to 100K subscribers soon all right thank you very much for this shorter question this time Aaron and yeah I am super excited about John Bernthal returning as The Punisher the first season of The Punisher is probably my favorite Marvel show ever and you know it's been confirmed that he will return in Daredevil born again and then there's also been some rumors about him possibly also showing up in Spider-Man 4 which would definitely make sense based on the different reports we are hearing about Spider-Man 4 and then there were also some rumors that Marvel Studios may be developing a new Punisher spin-off series kind of like what they are doing with Daredevil Barn again and that is something I think would be really really cool if Marvel stud does it right I mean I will admit that I do get a little worried that if Marvel Studios did do a new Punisher show that they would not want to go as hardcore and as dark and adult as what they did in the first season of the Netflix Punisher show which is just so perfect in my opinion so I would love for them to do it as long as they fully commit and do it well because it would be so disappointing otherwise and as far as where the Punisher could show up besides the street level stuff I kind of of doubt that he will show up in any of the multiversal stuff because I just don't think his character would fit into that as well in the MCU even though we we have seen Frank Castle cross over into a lot of multiversal and Cosmic stuff in the comics and I just think that Avengers Secret Wars and Avengers 5 are already going to be so packed with characters and that Marvel Studios are probably having a problem trying to figure out how to use so many characters but have it all make sense and fit everybody in in a way that works and doesn't just feel like they're throwing random characters for just the fan service of it but the one area I could see Frank Castle possibly showing up outside of the street level stuff is maybe in the Supernatural MCU with characters like Ghost Rider and blade and the midnight Suns and stuff like that I don't know if they will do that but that is the one area where I think it would make sense and that he could still kind of fit into that the same way he does in the street level stuff and that it could potentially work so yeah thank you very much for that question Aaron you always have good ones and then the last one we have is actually a two-parter from Matthew Templeton and this one says another great video as per usual my questions are as follows number one why do none of the Char characters ever use the bathroom I mean we've all watched them eat and have the opportunity to expend the energy but never the rest of the cycle I mean I think we all know the answer to this question is because no one really wants to see these characters use the bathroom and that Marvel Studios are not going to spend precious screen time in these movies on someone going to the bathroom however we have heard Tony Stark specifically say that he can pee in his Iron Man suit because it has a filtration system and that you could drink that water so we do at least know how Tony Stark can go to the bathroom at least number one in his Iron Man suit but anyways then for the second question here it says any chance Silver Surfer gets the X-Men 89 treatment it just finished on a pretty open-ended opportunity for continuation question mark I know Marvel's financial difficulties at the time contributed to said ending but they've had a pretty decent couple of years since and it would be a great opportunity to lead up to the introduction of Galactus and the Fantastic 4 among others it was a greatly underrated show UD deante keep up the great work all right thank you Matthew and to be honest I'm not exactly sure what you're referencing with this question I think you might be talking about the silver surver animated series and you know kind of doing something with that like what they are doing with the X-Men 97 animated series and if that is what you're talking about I think with Marvel and the animated shows they are kind of waiting to see how well these future animated shows they already have in development how those will do before they decide if they are going to continue developing new animated series on a regular basis and it has been heavily reported and rumored that the Silver Surfer is going to be one of the characters that Marvel Studios are going to introduce in the Fantastic 4 movie they're even worse some reports a while ago that Marvel Studios may do a Silver Surfer one-off like special presentation for Disney plus before the Fantastic 4 movie to kind of set up his character now we haven't heard anything about that in quite a while so I'm not so sure if that's something that will realistically happen but I do think there's a good chance that Silver Surfer will be introduced in the Fantastic 4 movie and that that's coming out in just a couple of years so that'll probably come out before anything else you know we could potentially see as far as what you're talking about so yeah I'm not sure if that's exactly what you were asking about but I I hope I
