Mazda Miata the best LOW POWER drift car? Suspension mods only at Minami Chiba Circuit

[Music] [Applause] we're out here today at a place which i've been to many times before but never put on the videos before it's a circuit called minami chiba circa and not surprisingly it is in chiba which is about maybe an hour's drive from tokyo the circuit is a mini circuit which has been upgraded so that it can take cars as well now it's probably one of the smallest circuits in japan you'll see why it attracts the cars that are here today there's about a dozen ways this track can be laid out one is the track you see here with the little infield section there's also over there a skid pan and a sort of connecting road so they can be joined together into one big circuit even though it's not really that big so it's a really good track for beginners but also it can be quite technical so there's a lot of places where you can practice you know higher level techniques as well you would have seen on the first shot there's about a dozen mazda roadsters here and that's why i'm here today remember this guy although from the rockin roadster event at nico circuit well this is his family's track and he invited me out to this day today and he said he'd lend me his rental car to drive it and that's really cool because i've never actually driven here before i've been here about a dozen times but never driven it up just a basic roadster and being basic what that means is that i'm probably not going to fit in it very well but i'll do my best without any further ado let's take this out the dudes sitting over there were laughing at me trying to get in i don't blame them okay i don't fit in this car the tires are gone and uh i don't want to crash it so i'm just preemptively making excuses all right so let's check out the claws that is the gear stick that is not that is not the handbrake that is the gear stick foreign hmm so [Music] oh oh yeah that's good fun and that's a big long sweeper to the hairpin is really good that's a good corner you could do a lot of good practice on that corner does this mean i need a roadster to keep here as well well i guess i'm not showing you the engine because we can't find the the catch release it was overheating a bit now when i pulled in i just wanted to show the engine and cool it down at the same time but uh that's not happening so you use your imagination actually you could just yeah there you go you this this is what's in that except you can't see it how about that it's so hot i just figured out i've drunk about four liters so far today and i still haven't gone to the bathroom and i still want to drink more aquarius is actually made by the same company that makes coke if you look on the back it should say here it is there it is coca-cola so this is uh coke's sports drink because the track is small i think most of the cars here today are naturally aspirated i guess it's not really turbo car weather either [Music] [Applause] green marble finish roadster on volks it's always a good look i think this one's turbo turbo in uh pink the owner says it's red though not pink actually what has he done here that's like uh fake grass matting but he's got it on his uh seat i assume it's like an anti-sweat sort of thing like those uh old seat covers that people use on taxis i'm guessing oh [Applause] yeah i think i need to learn more uh japanese summer secrets because it's just oppressively hot you know like they say is it a is it a track day if you're not getting heat stroke i think those uh they look like steelies but i think they're those lightweight gymkhana style wheels cmc03 yeah see these are alloy wheels these aren't steel oh [Music] work see our kai's jet stream stuff on it also n a rise one wraps oh okay so this is the guy who did the uh the wraps on these cars i like this little wing garnish oh i think they're going to go out soon i might have to set up my camera drove all the way from gunmar which is a fair way away from here ah this is a classic wheel to run on a car like this the cst presidio demon cambers it's not devil camber it's demon camber oh this s14 has them on the back as well yeah these are for those who know these are a really classic wheel and this is uh q's sylvia s14 a [Music] and as you saw before you don't really need much power to get around this track ah they still exist look at this another one with jet stream styling was that a factory colour on this car you know what [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] yeah this is a very common color on uh the mazda lantis aka the astina you all didn't know i was secretly deep down a mazda fan boy did you my first car when i was 18 was an sa rx-7 this is it here 13b with a port-matched exhaust it was fast enough [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] this is a good idea here today generator powering a fan [Music] it's 20 20 and people are still out here getting their beginner drift on in an a86 [Music] [Music] so mmm [Music] [Music] more so aotosan's rental car was good fun and one thing that he said he'd like to point out because after he appeared on one of my previous videos he said he got a lot of people following where's the bonnet catch it's meant to be a a loop there we go he said he had a lot of people uh following his instagram after he appeared on that last video and he said a lot of people overseas were asking if his car was turbo or what does he do for power and he said that he likes uh stock power just bolt-ons if that so this car as you saw me driving it before it's the stock 1.8 yeah with my old things here in the air filter and whatever but uh he said that suspension tuning and all that sort of stuff is a lot more important this car has widened uh lower control arms on the front you know all these uh suspension things first outer sun said suspension stuff is more important to make a roadster drift than power and it really was very easy to drive i don't know you know there's these but these days there's this i don't know what do you think actually while these are here 1990s carboy style [Applause] street style toge style by the way this is a rule in japan see the shift knob doesn't have any indication of the gears on it well you have to legally have it somewhere in the car so that's why if you ever buy a shift knob from japan it comes with one of these stickers yeah what some people do is they'll just get a piece of gaffer tape and just draw on it with a black pen it will pass with you know a bit of a raising of an eyebrow but it'll generally pass if this is your first noriero video and you liked it make sure you
