COOKED IT! Drifting Nikko Circuit in the Mark II

hello we're out here again today at nico circuit for a car modified wonder sokokai which means uh tractor of course i brought the mark ii it's uh not looking too pretty right now but that's not what we're worried about [Music] okay i need i need to explain something i need to explain the joke with that car so right now the most popular anime series in the whole country is called kimitsunoyeba which means demon hunter and one of the main characters who has been turned into a demon wears like a bamboo muzzle in her mouth to stop her from attacking people so that's why that car has like that piece of bamboo on the front there the character's name is nezuko that's what she looks like so that's that's the joke it's so popular that recently it became the number one movie of all time in japan basically anybody in japan right now would get that joke so mark 2 is unfortunately still ugly i don't think i've actually washed it for the past two times i brought it out it's still all you can see it's been in the rain this is from when i drove it at uh minami cheaper circuit well so something else i'm trying out today are these velino tires as you can see i've already been driving on them so i kept one of the stickers here in my toolbox so this is the special collaboration griever tire drift tengoku edition all right so these are designed specifically for drifting and to collaboration with drifting goku magazine now they have a special design on the sidewall now i tried to color it in with a posca pen but it was too thick so i did a really bad job but here you can see here drift and goku right with the cool little logo special collab griever so they came in my size so i bought a pair 265 35 18 inch and what makes these special is they're meant to last forever so this is already done two sessions at sportszone yamanashi and two sessions here at nico and it still looks brand new the only downside is they don't have the most amazing amount of grip but they do the job i did bring out a pair of grippy boys just in case i wanted to go for some grip uh kenda kaiser kr20a those are the good ones in the same size 265 35 18. so these will probably have a lot more grip but honestly i'm having a good time so far today so i'm just going to stick with the dory 10 tires i know i haven't really talked too much about the modifications we've done to the mark ii uh but let's just go out for a session first okay cool okay i'll just open the back just get a crack oh is that you or me that was my oh okay okay bloody gopro noises all right uh really shallow there first [Applause] it's so easy now with this power dude it's so easy with this power oh my god yeah you're making them so easy it is easy i just i wish i'd known that a properly set up jzx is just like ridiculously easy to drive yeah i would have tried to get this car back on the road a bit sooner problem is i have to drive harder now way um oh he doesn't want it okay all right here we go street koi red uh radiator on yeah and i've got the oil cooler and um steering cooler in a box in the garage which is not where they should be a couple chasers you were chasing the chasers i chased the chasers and then was chased by a chaser the thing is though that care is automatic and close automatically it's automatically close to stock so you think i would have been a lot closer but that guy is sweet so this day being run by a car modifier wonder this is the car modify wonder s15 aero [Music] and also the [Applause] 180sx aero they do make aero for jsx 100 as well uh the front fenders on my car actually [Applause] can't modify wonder smoker i like this rear wing here's the guy we were driving with before i need to point something out he was doing really well like i was uh i had to work to keep up look at this [Music] look it's automatic and it's pretty close to stock on the inside too i need to make mine look good i also need to clean the lens [Music] alright [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] ah [Music] [Music] um [Music] there's something about a rusty old corolla wagon it's got a lot of room for tyres as well [Applause] so the suspension mounts have been uh redone on the back and it's got like fuel system's just like just here see most of the coolest cars here are eight sixes like there is one entire class that's mostly a 86ers and their friends i don't know if i've seen this one before have i seen this car before uh okay here's another joke uh in japanese so when you have your fly open like you know the fly on your pants it means uh your fly is open and we can concrete matte green the size of these 175 60 13. oh just spending all my time talking to people instead of making a video sorry all right let's go out last session uh it's monday today because it's uh coming of age day no he what that means is 20 is the how do you say it the age of majority like when you become an adult is 20 for like uh you know buying alcohol and cigarettes and gambling and you know all that sort of stuff and they have a ceremony on the same day every year where people you know they dress up in kimono and yeah you meant to go to the town hall and have a big meeting and stuff like that so it's a public holiday for that but i'm out here at uh nico circuit what reminded me of that last time when i was at uh tsukudama circuit i was saying oh it's nice to be out here on a tuesday and everyone thought that was very funny i said tuesday because i am from australia we say tuesday not tuesday what's my goal for the last session i guess just to maybe go a bit harder on the first corner because you saw before i was uh you saw before i said that um oh there's haryama there was a judge session earlier today and i did drive in it i wasn't really driving uh i guess as good as i would like i didn't really try to be honest i'm in the uh second highest group i think like the middle expert class so i didn't win a trophy this time he said that uh he said i looked good but i was too shallow which meant i wasn't going out wide enough out here i'll show you what i mean so this is the uh this is the course so when i was doing the entry i was coming out wide like this but then i was cutting in really shallow like this and he's supposed to go further out like middle of the course not uh not you're not supposed to hit that in-clip just back there you're supposed to kind of go through the middle of the course i'm not gonna pretend that like i'm doing really well in this car around there because i'm not honestly spending such a long time driving you know the beer can and a86s and stuff like that which uh you know not the best drift cars like they're not set up the best it kind of makes you forget how to drive really hardcore see this that's the one i'm supposed to take right there yeah that actually felt a bit better well it needs a bit more sleep time in this car and we'll uh will do really well there's various competitions they hold here and a lot of the track days have mini drift competitions like the one they had here today so i think uh we'll have to do a bit more of that [Applause] that was a bit uh too saucy by the way all these people who say oh don't don't mind you the straight there are exceptions and one one exception is here at nico [Applause] all right overheating gonna cool it down all right okay don't get too wide here oh that's a bit too wide whoa it picks up speed i was going too [Applause] fast love it also the steering is uh a bit hot too it's kind of uh it's kind of stiff see how much tread they got left they're still good these could go these went an entire track day on this one pair of the drifting goku grievers i mean they're not very high grip but that's impressive this might be a good tire to take to ebisu for matsuri if they're going to last look how they're still fresh there's a little bit of a chunk there but that's it these are great [Applause] let me show you something this is called uh the good neighbor 5000 it just looks like a piece of rolled up cardboard you may say well if you live in tokyo like me and you don't want to annoy your neighbors you just stick that in there and it cuts all the noise oh [ __ ] what is that [Music] oh we're actually we're overheating [Applause] [Music] uh yeah i got a little bit too keen on that last session uh it overheated yeah i wanted to put some uh more water in there before we get home it's a few hours later i've just pulled into a parking area to get some dinner what i thought i'd do is read out the list of everything that's been done to the car i know i've done a pretty bad job talking about what was actually done to the car when i took it to rusty so let's just go through this list here all right here we go hks camshaft and cam pulleys timing belt idler pulley timing belt tensioner camshaft oil seals crankshaft front oil seal water pump water bypass gasket o-ring crank pulley vvti pulley the ocv low temp thermostat upper and lower radiator hoses coil red three pass radiator ignition coil coupler yeah they get a bit brittle after a while and one of them had snapped off so they were all replaced hks fan belt fan belt tensioner oil filler cap they replaced that oh it's like seven bucks sard catalyzer yeah it actually has a brand new sard catalytic converter so it's legal vr muffler that's rusty's own brand of muffler and honestly it's kind of quiet for the track but my neighbors haven't complained yet so it's it's good iscv filter yeah they put a filter on that oh yeah we took out the air con condenser there's no more air conditioning in this car trust pro fec that's the boost controller trust intercooler yeah we've got a full trust uh intercooler system including the blow-off valve oic 559d twin plate clutch uh the original clutch i thought it would be okay but it started slipping on the dyno so we had to change it that just added a lot of uh cost to it what also makes that expensive is you have to change from a push to a pool type clutch and the kit costs more money also the fuel that was in the car when i gave it to the tuner was kind of old so he had to drain the entire tank so yeah that yeah that was my fault ari tessan from rusty does a lot of collaborations with parts manufacturers and the turbo on here is kind of experimental which is why i can't really say what it is uh but it's on here to see if it will last like it's meant to be sold as part of a kit for like uh you know a car that's used on the street which is you know what this is so uh i don't know i guess we'll he he keeps telling me to check the the shaft play and see if it's still okay or not and it seems to be okay so and one thing that's not on this list is the ecu which is a link jzx100 1jz specific replacement board for the factory unit it's been really good so far it's got a bunch of really cool features that i'm not going to show you this time i think we're done for today anyway thanks for watching i'll see you
