Maui Food Tour: The Best Places to Eat on the Island

[Music] foreign [Music] Maui is not only one of the most popularly traveled islands in the world but it is also full of some of Hawaii's most delicious dining choices in this video we'll feature some of the best local restaurants on the island what I did not include in my list are the expensive eateries such as Mama's Fish House which is hail is the number one seafood restaurant to which I agree the restaurants featured are cheap to moderately priced but it is also as good as the expensive and popular spots by the way according to YouTube analytics approximately 89 of my viewers are not subscribers please help my channel by subscribing and do not forget to like this video let's get into it if you are studying Lahaina Orca anapali where some of the best resorts are located you got to visit leoda's kitchen and pie shop I am not recommending this spot because of their dishes although they sell sandwiches and burgers you don't come here for that that you must visit because of their banana cream pie that's right their banana cream pie is simply the best tasting there might be a long line during your visit but it is worth the wait the shop is conveniently located along Highway 30 on your way to Lahaina or Kaanapali you will never miss this shop for breakfast check out the Gazebo a highly rated spot the restaurant is located inside napili Shores Maui Resort and has a beautiful view of napili bay the restaurant's capacity is limited causing a long way to get a table we had to wait two hours under the sun's heat to wait for a table just be prepared that there might be a long line if you decide to eat here is the weight worth it absolutely especially if you want to try local Hawaiian breakfast dishes one of the restaurant's Specialties is the macadamia nut pancakes a lot have been raving about it but it is no better than the other macnod pancakes in other restaurants the fried rice plate was delicious loaded with veggies scrambled eggs and topped with avocado this you got to try the generous portion of the dish was perfect my wife also tried the corned beef hashan egg and she loved it by the way Birds might come and share your meal these birds are so so cute if you want sushi there are a lot of highly rated Asian restaurants on Maui if you are staying in West Maui Japango is a high rated Asian restaurant with an island Flair the restaurant is located inside Hyatt Regency Maui with a beautiful view of the Kaanapali Beach although walk-in is allowed reserving a table ahead of time is highly recommended the restaurant is open for dinner from 5 PM to 10 pm although they have a menu of steaks you come here for the seafood which is sourced locally making the seafood dish fresh and tasty you got to try some of their sushi rolls and sashimi but if I may try the Hamachi Kama a broad Yellow Tail color with ponzu sauce on the mainland when I eat in a Japanese restaurant I always order the broiled yellowtail color if available I could finish the whole meal but I was surprised when I got my order the color was big and I had to share it with my wife good thing we only ordered one the meat of the fish was so delicate and sweet you know it's fresh it is so delicious regarding tacos I got two recommendations both inside Whaler's Village if you are staying in Kaanapali Weller's Village is the nearest shopping center with many restaurants it even has a food court if you are on a budget other expensive options like Hula Grill monkey pot kitchen and Leilani's on the beach are also there speaking about leilanis their Seafood is delivered daily and one of their signature dishes is the fresh fish tacos since the place is always packed we ordered the fish tacos online and pick them up the tacos are on the high end for me regarding price it is 19 before tax for two tacos it is not cheap was it worth it you can sell by the look of the fish it is really fresh the fish is tender and sweet when you take a taco bite although many people Rave about their tacos it is a little Bland for this Filipino tourist a more flavorful taco and a cheaper option are at the Nani Pirates they got a variety of seafood menus but their tacos are the bomb I or the seared Ahi tacos wow it was so flavorful and fresh besides you got three tacos for 16 dollars which is not bad the tuna is perfectly seared with fresh veggies and their signature sauce it was one satisfying meal and I would say it is better than Leilani's tacos the last two restaurants I will feature are my favorite Seafood spots in Maui paella Fish Market is my go-to for casual lunch with good seafood dishes this restaurant first opened in 1989 in Bahia hinz paella Fish Market currently they have two other locations in Maui one in Lahaina on Front Street and another location in Kihei the seafood here is locally sourced and served in large portion at fair prices keep in mind there might be a long line due to its popularity so come early for lunch or dinner although they serve various dishes like a variety of fish burgers and fish and chips the food to order is their Fresh Catch plates if you want to taste fresh seafood meal the dish comes with your choice of fish coleslaw tartar sauce and sides no matter what fish you choose it will always be fresh and taste delicious I ordered a mahi mahi plate with Cajun Rice look how big the portion of the fish that was served I also ordered Sashimi as my appetizer during one of our visits I devoured the Sashimi like a hungry dog sorry I was so hungry from waiting in line for a long time Lahaina Fish Company is my favorite spot for sit down dinners this is not a fancy restaurant where you need to dress up the restaurant has been serving excellent meals since 99 90 it is right in the heart of Lahaina town along Front Street it has a beautiful ocean view if you eat here during dinner come before Sunset and watch the breathtaking Sunset while enjoying your meal although walk-ins is allowed a reservation is highly recommended so that you will not wait in line longer their fresh line caught fish are expensive compared to paella Fish Market but it is not as expensive as eating in Mama's Fish House on our last visit I ordered the Oppa and I had it grilled over a caramelized onion on top of a bed of rice with garlic sauce look at that dish it was mouth-watering and The Taste was Heaven I really love the taste of moonfish you have to try this fish you will never regret that you did this dish by the way cost 41 before tax but it is so worth it because it was deliciously prepared not only is the seafood so good here but their dessert is epic as well we tried their award-winning recipe Mama Pie it is a macadamia nut pie served with vanilla bean ice cream what a dessert it was so delicious just be careful not to eat all of it or your blood sugar level might shoot up share it with your family or friends will you after eating all the food it is time to burn all those extra sugar and calories I
