it doesn't matter what software you're using to edit your videos if you learn this one tool properly you can make your videos look like this [Music] [Music] foreign before starting the tutorial you can follow me on Instagram and if you have any questions please feel free to ask me on my Instagram I'll try to reply all dedicated questions now let's get started first make a new adjustment layer then drag and drop it above on your clip select this adjustment layer move over to the window menu and open the lumetri color tab under the lumetri color tab open the curve tool and here's the exciting part you can use any software to color grade your videos by using this curve tool so first you need to know the curve line correctly the bottom part will work for the black areas of your footage and this part will work for the Shadows the middle part will work for the mid-tones and this part will work for the highlights lastly the top part will work for the white area on your footage now make three points on the Shadow mid-tone and highlight already we have two points on the white and black part now let the magic begin for my clip I like to turn down the shadow increase the highlight and increase the mid tone a little bit I would like to increase the black part to add a faded look and turn down the white part to make the white part a little bit softer and it already looks much better we can adjust the curves for different color channels red green and blue for example I want to add a more teal look to the shadow part so click on the red circle and remove the red color a little bit from the black and Shadow part and don't play with them too much I think green is perfect let's remove the blue a little bit from The Shadow that's it now we can increase the saturation to make it pop I like to increase the temperature to add more warm color and last add a little vignette to focus our subject and this is hours before and after [Music] now I'm going to show you how I color graded this one before starting this one you can check out my 15 cinematic Lut presets for your next project and these Lut presets are very easy to use you can use them in any video editing software that supports the cube extension and if you don't know how to use the Lut presets so I have included a video tutorial inside this pack so again I'm going to make a new adjustment layer then add it to the timeline increase the adjustment layer duration with your footage now select this layer and move over to the curve tool make three points on the Shadow mid-ton and highlight area again I'm going to turn down the Shadow and increase the Highlight decrease the mid tone a little it would be nice to reduce the shadow a bit more inside the red circle I like to add more teal to the shadow area so let's reduce the red color from the shadow part and increase the red color in the highlighted area so this will pop up the sunlight now move over to the green circle to add a reddish look decrease the green color from the mid-tone and last move over to the blue circle to add more warm color decrease the blue color from the mid-tone and highlighted area it was hours before and after and the final step is to increase the temperature to add warm colors and increase the saturation a bit and that's all for this one thanks for watching I'll see you in the next one have a nice day [Music]
