Mario Kart Shortcuts You’ve Never Seen Before!

hey guys it's Troy here with my rival Nicholas how's it going my fellas let's go baby it's so much more powerful here in person I can really feel the whole room shake energy wall Shake is oh my gosh Nick we're playing the brand new version of retro rewind drop today version 5.1 20 new track updates new shortcuts new item box changes let's go pretty much the biggest update since the very beginning of time itself so we have a lot to look forward to here hopefully some new shortcuts on the horizon on this track the shortcut is no longer free there's actually some off-road similar to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and we are top two right now Nick is beef boss I must note that right now I did not have his me on the emulator so Nick is enjoying some uh some GameCube controller emulator retro experience using the only other me I had yes has to be BOS shouts to profession yes all right Nick this is despite the experience we got to keep changing our combo we got to make it interesting for the fellas at home what what combo are we using next Oh I thought I got you almost almost I'm going for side side red side red oh no all right let's see if that actually ends up getting me the victory I think shooting start would be nice but yeah like this track it used to be you could just do the shortcut and it was Automatic Auto first place do it every single time now it's a little bit tougher I I I mean you know you could still do it easily with a mushroom but I don't really know if it's possible to make it useful shroomless yeah for sure and I love you can trick off all the rails endlessly get multiple tricks I'm going to take home the win Nicholas is going to get fourth maybe or third really close fourth course all right not bad not bad not bad not bad not bad Nick decided shooting star he's going Rosa shooting star beat boss Rosa shooting star combo I'm doing Bowser shooting star and let's see what our top speed is with this thing I'm I'm guessing probably 93 oh we got jigsaw Flex in the room let's go shout UPS let's go and we're going for the rock top if we get a mushroom good luck I think this like a hybrid between flame Runner and mock first yeah yeah oh for sure it's really good it's really is it better than the mock likeke though that's the real question I'm not too sure about that one oh almost made Rock hop almost yeah no the speed is not quite there that's the only downside oh oh no 94 okay that's actually really good even with Bowser it's 94 that that's actually really surprising really good oh sick red Dodge I'm in second place is that Nick in first no it's not no it's not far from it okay you're not F far from a man no I am humble Rosalina which also goes 94k Dage oh that's actually amazing I'm going to try to get a mushroom Y no mushroom trying my hardest doing some really wonky strats first place is way up there people are going to probably go for a shortcut that's oh oh wait did you go up your rock I did going end too well knew to say yeah no that was not great okay well I mean my race is going a little better so far that's good to hear at Le of us are doing well there's no blue shell that I'm is that you in second place anywh I'm in second yeah yeah you're crazy I'm I'm making shooting star users proud all five of them it's not my day okay I thought jigaw Flex was in first but he's actually in last a lap behind I don't know what he's doing he's on the jet though who knows what's going on oh my gosh if I get something higher than 10th I'll be pretty happy oo oh oh Nick what happened on this one A lot happened brother let's oh the Press of a button you are so good at this track go is cool one cuz you could five for five the shroomless shortcut but how is it going to feel on the standard bike M we are alternating picking inside drift Vehicles today Nick chose the shooting star and I'm challenging him now with the standard bike all right we in competition as per usual of but it's a friendly competition once again as prual time to nail the shortcut shom list even though I have a mushroom I'm doing it too I have a golden as well got it w baby I literally went from fourth to Second it's a busted shortcut if you don't know the shortcut you're learning retro rewind I highly recommend you practice it because it's a it's a shortcut you get to use five very yes there's not many shortcuts you can do five times seriously I think I'm be able to take go first here oh is that your back no it was actually first place oh but I take such wide lines with this thing it's actually oh I'm going for it again okay I failed it but I didn't fully fail it so I'm still on second it again let's go baby two for two baby let's go I'm like 1.5 for two right now blueberry yes all the blueberry pies I'm in first place with a mushroom this is insane uh blue pretend Nicholas is Bowser Jr he's in the middle I I see him Justice for Bowser Jr topnotch nendo character o I got to use this and this is bad and okay well I made it I am so screwed that was the worst time shock ever I do a shock what's my fail the Great thing about this combo is I don't need to do SOS yes the Excel is very Nick you're still very much in it I am getting slaughtered cuz I failed shortcut dang where you I would have made it I I'm in six oh you I think I would I would have been in first place right now if it wasn't for that I item oh prob it wasn't worth it to be honest but there we go I got the cut again all right three for four two 2.5 for four I'm I'm three for four as well nice nice lap three was a bit this is it all right dude Good all them is inside drift now so the Phantom has some redeeming qualities now actually you manag to get an item box and yeah the fact is inside D how much how much speed do we get here we get to 9 to that's actually pretty decent not too shabby yeah it does not feel like I'm on a heavyweight I already got bumped off this is not looking good good thing it's a long track maybe we can make the comeback the respawn was atrocious and I'm in last by quite a bit dang I have a bill in 10 this actually goes slightly faster than standard bike M standard bike M really good vehicle but probably not the best for front running since it's pretty slow for sure I think it's really good in the middle of the pack I think so as yeah the drifting is still pretty cursed not going to lie yeah 100 not quite but we want MX just actually helped me out there thank you and I'm I'm working my way back I'm in 10th right now we're chilling and I'm in 11 going for a shot oh okay okay so we're the back right now is there only 11 in the room yes oh you know what that means right we got to have Troy the boy join that's right up indeed yes yes uh Bill Uber ride that is a 3.3 out of five not going to lie I like the specifics you know if only you could rate Ubers that way then I know I really really accurate stats system indeed yes oh my God that was horrible I'm I'm going full landscaper strats Nick you'd be proud landscaper tww I'm stealing your title from landscaper nme nowhere to be found that's right hey the a stat on this thing is really insanely good I mean it's one of the redeeming absolutely why your thing Dodge me please it is kind of fun to use a vehicle where I would have no chance of getting better than seven and be able to actually get a top three spot this is great had another like 3.5 out of five start ride no Casey took myly better than last year Phantom mael yes go Nicholas go go go go you win on my vehicles I win on your vehicles That's The Story So Far So now it's my turn to choose a vehicle so this is one of the tracks that has a changed shortcut the railing actually has a purpose now and hopefully we can demonstrate it today with the bit bike yes hopefully I just bombed the whole room that was amazing whoops I'm going back for an item oh my gosh this thing's drift is pretty solid the acceleration is the best ever oh yeah so busted I'm probably going to chain here and just hopefully get to pull off the shortcut for you guys you guys can see the new magic there's 20 like added shortcuts to Retro rewind some of them are harder than others I just I'm oh I can't even land on the rail oh that was really bad this thing is extremely slow good thing this is Mario c 2 there's plenty of time to catch up me and Nick are in the back of the pack right now hey you struggling with bit bike what's up dude up man still better you here then standard bit bike at least we have you know our inside drift exactly Nicholas I'm coming up through the middle here Nick's got mushrooms mush sheets for D oh I'm going for it again right now let's see oh I just went too far to the left last time what oh I can't even get close right now this going be tough I'm still going for it pretty much how it works now is the first part is still the same where you it's like a jump panel and then afterwards it turns into a boost panel at the very end you can do a nice little corner skip riding the r I don't know if we'll get the chance to demonstrate with a bit bike though hopefully you get it this lap let's see I'm in last by a lot right now so no item maybe maybe I could showcase its potential and get it and save I just got bombed in 10th I'm in second with the bit fight this makes no sense second wow how okay wait I got it I got it oh my gosh go 10 you got second I got second bike let's go oh my gosh let go so this is one of like the only tracks where I don't have to layout memorize the Mario Kart tour track there's a couple of them we're all camping for item boxes mautino on the standard bike Bowser I am repping Bowser as well on the Wario bike and Nick Warrior bike War classic love to see it goes crazy of course this goes 90 at full speed that is not a good sign no that is really rough the magic Cruiser is at 91 that's absolute shame and suffering and even the standard bike we were complaining about it it's 92 it's actually better than this by quite a bit seriously a what's going on it has other things going for it but speed is the most important stat in Mario Kart seriously and you know drift and weight matter a lot as well oh oh gosh you're going to take me out oh that in air FIB was so close we actually had a really good first lap we're in the middle here with this atrocious vehicle yes somehow my greens always hit me off the wall all using the mega I care I threw like two greens forward I don't think it was mine though I think it might have been yours I it was my own greens hit me every time I can confirm that easily yeah without a doubt oh my gosh what am I doing yeah the acceleration is really nice like when I had to break for a box I had to speed up again and I was at full send there's a small amount of use cases for this like other than that not too all right we're going for shortcut oh did I hit you almost no top tier all right we're going for shortcut let's go oh oh MX stole my box Bam Bam let's go f let's go fella let's go okay I don't even think I'm going to be able to get to second because it's so slow but wait wait wait wait wait wait wait oh everything's working I'm in second I'm in second Beautiful go go go how long will I be able to maintain second that is the question I am and six messing the boxes oh Home Depot ball dag is on the cheap charger oh I want to know what's happening on your screen so bad it's just a lot of Calamity and people slam my box man and I get R can can I still get a trick here oh you can that's actually pretty good that is just the worst hey fell we're in the same spot dude we both got Absol body this one yep absolutely yeah I actually had a good race until one red shell and that's sometimes all it Tak takes the vehicle is just so slow I know all right we need to pick something fast it has the heat has the speed I know exactly what we have to do next okay you know what I think we might have a good vehicle for this we do I not all that bad I wanted to punish Nicholas cuz he put on some you know a slow combo and it's time to do the fastest combo this is easily the fastest combo in the game sure people say that jet setter the fastest but can the Jet Set wheelie I think not n today we are going to turn very little and wheelie very fast yes it's going to be exactly what we need to recover from last race where we got decimated and this going pretty well so far yeah we have a tough room too so I mean I think so far on this track we're just doing one track each combo I think that the last corner is going to be the only tough part it won't even be that bad though there this entire track has been fairly smooth so far to be honest this is a spear track I'm convinced agreed agreed I'm in the BL Bill Uber ride rating clocking in at ooh all right that's like almost like a 4.9 out of five that was impressive I'm in first place baby to get a five you have to dodge the shot yeah that's the rle that's why it's 4.9 out of five indeed yes oh I'm in third right now and I think are you in first I am oh we're top two we're top two woo no blueberry pie in the face the bomb Oh My Gosh Nick I had to purposely crash to the wall bounce off the wall Ricochet missed the blue shell by pixels use mushroom to recover the rest is history I'm in first place we got one lap to go can I pull off the wi with the spear let's find out first to last brother that's all right proba fter to trick off one of these let's see I don't know I don't know I think The Middle's probably the fastest I still know the strats on some of these tracks like this one specifically It Feels Like The Middle's probably the best though I think so yeah it's probably pretty similar o Troy want to do some screen hopp in there fella see what I got my inventory I just lost a lot of time and now I'm getting blue shot I'm going to try to get MX in the explosion oh oh oh I can cancel that for you buddy I got you man you just saved my life thank you yeah I got you dude if I get a mushroom here I could actually win the race do maybe luck will be on my side do it a red shell wait a second do I go for it come on fella come on you got this dude give me a bu bu yes oh my gosh ask sh SE yeah nice oh it's been a rough one I got third I'll take it that was really good for spear Nick it's your turn now we went full speed what's next I think something not as fast hey the vehicle diversity in these retro rewind rooms is no joke it's great we have the flame runner in first we have matino in second using the standard bike l y and we have some shooting star players what else we got Prett what else we got a bullet bike player nice and uh I think me and Nick are using the flashiest combo the most expensive combo if if you had to put a price on every single one of these combos the Wild Wing would be one of the most expensive 100% easily what would be the most expensive the honey coup or be the most expensive the flame Runner oh I think the flame Runner actually it looks the most expensive cuz the art not only that but the functionality the the engineering engine and everything that would be way worth the money for sure so just looks no functionality probably the honey Co probably cool cool okay yeah yeah the honey CP really does look like the gold cart in Mario Kart Mario Kart Double Dash honorable imagion to a shooting star because I think that would take a lot of work to make so okay okay yeah yeah definitely got get back on the shooting star yeah you still use the mock bike I know I just got bumped off phomen a car it's supposed to be the other way around I'm an eight okay we're we're both struggling right now good thing there's a lot of time left seriously did we use flame runner in first race we I can't remember I don't think we did I think we we might used the flame Runner yeah and even if we did let's just pretend like we didn't so we can continue make ourselves feel better yes yes well well I think we'll end with the flame Runner yeah that'll be a to end on I support that ooh blueberry pie in the air does does this feel any different zpl told me that the inside drift code actually has been altered I think it is a little easier yeah it's a little easier to use I feel like it drips a little tighter I think so too I agree yeah no it's it's nice I must say I love this version ofk pass oh best version yeah yeah nailed it oh my god oh uh need this item desperately oh you stole it no sorry buddy sorry I'm going to make it worthwhile I'm in seventh I need there's no item in the middle there oh it was respawning that makes sense all right you got a good spot didn't you seven midrange honestly I'll take ninth place that is a tough one we're going to make it easier now yes and I think we are going to stay on Daisy and we have uh looks like a full room here yeah yeah full room but someone is just sitting at the start okay now they're moving wasn't sure for a second oh experiencing a little bit of lag I don't know about you yeah a little bit it's only a one laap track it makes this one very stressful seriously and especially with this vehicle that we are on where we have extremely low weight I'm getting like 30 FPS right now I don't know about you yeah even on emulator you're getting that mock bike things wow I'm playing on the the Wii U I always get that question what console do you play with your videos it's almost always Wii U and it's occasionally the emulator that's almost never the Nintendo Wii Troy I'm having quite the race right now I got a trick and I didn't expect it and it shot me really far to the left are you in first double first H love well I'm in 10 so we're both struggling yeah this version of this track is absolutely Immaculate though me say oh yeah incredible hopefully the frame rate rate fixes itself I'm a little worried about that I know yeah cuz the track is beautiful it's literally incredible it's literally the best version I've ever seen of this track there's a lot of versions of this track I've seen this track remade many times same same oh I'm using this oh I'm just barely surviving right now in fifth not too bad so scary right now so scary so stressful yeah oh my gosh uh I got to use this I got to use this go go go I'd be so happy with it's right now I'm going to Star as well we're not going to get the Dodge R we're not going to get it yeah I got fif never Lu everywhere you can fall off we're on a low weight vehicle compared to what everyone uses the flame Runner but hey I mean I'll take my plus 24 we're on bullet bike and I'm so happy we have a decent vehicle for this incredible track with a brand new shortcut and yeah so uh I think this would be the perfect time to tell the audience about what's been going on behind the scenes in retro rewind as of late I commissioned zpl for 20 track changes adding shortcuts changing item boxes and whatnot one of them is on this track so hopefully I can pull it off and show the audience granted you know this just came out today so we'll see how this actually goes I'm going to try it myself right now actually I got it I got it it was not it was not pretty but I got it I'm so happy okay I've literally done that shortcut once on time trial and now I've done it once on online beautiful it was so sketch but oh that is incredible it's called It's called The Window shortcut is not in the N64 version there's a much bigger shortcut in the n6 4 version cuz that game is completely busted as we know absolutely so uh yeah I mean it's beautiful you go on the little out of bounds patch do a little bounce use your mushroom little window Happ sort of safety yeah little window happen yeah it's so satisfying it actually is better than I ever imagined zpl completely nailed it shout out to zpl the legend shout outs to zpl I don't think he's awake right now which is really unfortunate cuz I know he wanted to be in this room but he will defin be in the next one for sure 100% and Nick will probably be in the next one too Nick's really enjoying R re I I got Nick back into Mario Kart Wii after a long Hiatus all thanks to Retro rewind yes I'm going for shortcut again I want to try with a bll actually oh okay so the star is very tough but the respawn is incredible Nick the respawn is so good the respawn is so good that I literally failed it barely and I didn't even l lose much time beautiful I might have even gained time by faing the path is crazy in the Mansion what is it good or bad it's looks something bad it's a mix of both that it's cool but it's not faster that's what that means indeed indeed that was like a 2.9 out of five override I like how you have very specific ratings because you know you're giving the audience you know a visual without them seeing your perspective exactly exactly they can feel the 2.9 the 3.3 by cariously through my uh sketchy commentary yes indeed I think I have to go for shortcut I I tried to do the Hop Dodge I didn't get it I can't go for shortcut at least I got it on lap one there's also another addition to the track it's right here oh okay I'm going to go for it there's an item box added here so yeah I I commission it for a bunch of random things on the tracks like sometimes it's adding adding item boxes sometimes it's changing routes slightly just a bunch of random stuff that would make the tracks more Dynamic so we'll see you know I mean so far it's really impacted I mean impacted the race I did the crazy shortcut I used the item box it's been a fun time right behind you oh I got second snipe him out Nicholas I feel a little bit bad for you having to use a vehicle that can barely drift on Nicholas's big bad castle I know and uh you know you're still top 10 in the world time trial on this tracked 23.98 respect the digits yes sir appreciate that yes I have that I only know cuz it ends with the 98 all right all right so uh I mean this is this is doable it's doable at least at least we're not on the wild wi inside Drift We have a competent vehicle seriously it's it's very doable y this is way better than the spear let's put it that way we at least can test our wonkiness against the flame Runners which is fun that's right that's right oh got the short go without hitting the rail baby sneaker main confirmed woo six box blueberry pie oh I got a pow o Nick I'll be nice to you m kind of kind of oh all right I see what you're trying to do there you screw you over a little bit okay okay okay uh I had to screw over top three a little more though you know you always got to Target people in the front course of course oh got fifth I'll take it let's go nice let's go woo I'm on the dolphin Dasher on a track with no Offroad Nick is on the flame Runner all right I'm going to beat you oh all right dude good luck good luck it's not going to be that good luck I'm going to need it and uh I think you're going to get first Nick I I feel like this is your time to shine right now yeah sorry took C out that is what I get for am not not even on the flame Runner so I really want to have a flame Runner moment you are definitely Ting me in this race TR I said you're probably going to beat me but it may not happen this oh I had the sickest bomb Dodge oh the bull Bill [Music] oh I'm in third right now with the Dolph Dasher on this track I think second just dodg shock by falling off that's dumb that's not good that's not good I need to get big soon I can do shortcut shortcut saves a lot of time yes hey fella Nick you're in fourth yeah buddy that was so mean hey buddy hey buddy I'm going to beat you who's going to get the lows though you going for it you get it I am I got like a get the F oh wait top tier speed oh 736 yes oh my God I could not have played that better honestly but you were in last for half the race and you got third how did you make that comeback you're almost at nines again pure skill pure skill thank you we have another track part of the commission we talked about earlier this has two additions one of them is the platform ramp is no longer a stunt trick it is now a flip Trick because uh before it had no purpose no one ever used it it wasn't faster now faster is going to have purpose it is something you do shroomless and on top of that there is a new shortcut where you can actually ride the top part of the the ledge and it's got sticky Road it's got a trickable ramp it's uh something that I'll probably oh I was going to say I'll probably go for it but at the same time I don't know I just got kind of bodied I I'll go for it I'll show it out I haven't really practiced it at all I'm probably going to fail this don't expect much I'm going to go for it anyway I went for it but the fire color went off same I actually got up there even though the fire pillar ruined my life so uh yeah we're tricking off this we're tricking off this and this is the Strat so you go up there you get the trick and you're able to do that trimless and you get a flip Trick and it's really cool it's a little bit faster it's a trimless strategy so uh yeah everything I commission him for was uh crazy shortcuts and item box fixes so uh expect a lot more of where that came from the Banshee Boardwalk one was just the beginning there's still a lot more you guys have seen three now with snz Mario circuit 2 also didn't really do it correctly definitely uh messed up the ending by hitting the yellow rail but I still got to show off most of that shortcut and the Banshee Boardwalk one was pretty iconic that's one of my favorit one of my favorit too actually yeah so good oh my gosh I shed it feels good to be on flame runer but I'm so used to using bad vehicles I kind of forgot how to play with a good vehicle you know what I mean I know got can't make sure you don't lose your touch there f with the good vehicles got to play when it counts one mushroom rade sounds bad right incredible I'm in third now it's all working out somehow everyone just what in the what everyone fell off I guess I don't know what the heck I'm so confused I I I have such a lead over fourth I don't understand what's happening dude I'm in fourth now everyone just died okay that makes sense cuz I'm like how am I in third with a 30 second lead over fourth I might go for that Strat again it's scary going for the new strats I know how do we do these yeah exactly just fun though oh oh oh oh should I do this bad idea oh I'm a God do I go for it do I go for it do I go for it oh my gosh beautiful kind of blocking and I'm small I'm just going to chill here potassium peels potassium peels I'm so done where's me that's really bad I'll take your third there fella okay I just pull triple Reds and God you're in fourth you know what you take fourth I'll let you take fourth look at that so this track you know uh pretty standard I think it might be the ctgp version if it's not it's very similar yes it looks pretty similar so far Nick this is our best chance of getting a first in this room we are on the flame Runner another race yes see what we can do I agree good luck though good luck as always this is a tough room really is it is a room where you know it is pretty much like the middle of the night for most the world I cannot believe we even were able to fill the room this is insanity I seriously man all right we're both second there and chilling a I couldn't keep my sh yeah know we're having a great start here and the player in front of us is one of the best in this whole game mode yeah seriously y Absol I'm just hoping he tanks the blue and I can get first here let's see or I'll get back spammed and commissioned zpl for here is another one and we have a good combo I don't know how do the short be with this combo only time will tell I know Nicholas there is a couple changes here good luck as always of course and what the heck was that first of all the the swamp is way closer to the item uh sorry to the Boost panel so that really changes the way that section works you can indeed that was horrible uh anyway yeah you can you can uh trick the Boost panel now or you can uh trap it I mean I can't even talk I'm so stressed with this race we land top oh I got the short I got it let's go yeah yeah so you if you time it right and you hold down on your analog and using a fast enough vehicle damn W baby we're top two we got to get first right here right here right here this we got this let's go we got this we got this let's go so uh yeah I mean the shortcut is incredible see if I can do a side red oh why did it go for you and not him don't worry we're good we're good yeah we're chilling we're chilling it's not going to end up hitting you I did shortcut and this track has quite a few Co shortcuts now yes it does Zid day let's go got the rail I'm going to go for this one too good luck I know I love this track for the textur and how it plays it's incredible I'm going for Strat D got to do what you got to do you know no what happened no I had a fib and I couldn't get the red Dodge all right so I went for a shortcut and uh I did not make it lap three I think that it's a lot easier to do with the flame Runner this thing goes 94 as opposed to 97 okay okay maybe it's 91 yeah let see if I can do the Strat oh my god oh I got it so this is Boost panels up here and then this is trickable so that is the new Strat commission number five you guys have already seen 1/4 of them you this track the other one is at the very end I don't know if you want to go for it Nick but you're the one who actually decided how to change it remember we had the discussion indeed and you said that the rail needs to be a little bit wider so that it's doable you can drift on it yeah so uh I would love you to go for the shortcut and tell me how it is I have not tested it yet but I'll be the judge of that I'll do did the first part you can land up top there's boost panels up there it's trickable at the end it's definitely faster I'm in fourth place because of it amazing stuff the other one is it's a nice little Easter egg oh yeah I just can't get an item box on retro rewind I missed the days of the instant item boxes I know oh man I got to bring those these back man I know I know you want mean it's slightly different than ctgp but overall I would say it's it's it's pretty uh pretty much the same just texture palette difference I don't think there's anything else that I can comment about being different from the ctgp version I don't think anything else was different yeah it feels pretty similar yeah plays really well though I like this one it's one of my alltime favorite Mar K tracks They have a pretty sizable lead let's find out it's going to be pretty soon I'm in a pretty safe spot here actually second place is pretty comfy pretty sure I got six each yeah okay so I got second and there was just no blue shell the entire race once again was it empex X box paddle with 6,000 wins the legend the legend we got one of my favorite tracks for the last track of the volano this is my time to shine Nick top two top two we never got a top two brown flame Runner now the last few races let's do it this is it let's do it first place second place or bust yes let's go let's go please I just want to live I'm getting a third place box in first right now this might really good triple bananas never mind cool potassium potassium potassium indeed I'm going oh baby oh my God where's Xbox paddle where is he nowhere to be seen maybe he got first and dipped oh no he's here he's here last last I see him like he like 6,000 he beat Everyone by Miles actually Legend the world
