last night was the big country showdown for our top nine contestants and they were lucky enough to get some tips from the legendary country singer Kenny Rogers the ultimate country song is a song that has a story paints a picture of where you are and drops you off at the end of the journey with an emotion of some sort the stakes were high but for our country crew this is your night babies this is your element wear that hat proud country music was more of a gamble for both Chris and age but Keith Urban's song seemed to be the perfect hand to play I actually really enjoyed him in hearing you saying good job on a Keith Urban song baby you have a knack for picking the right song for your voice and I thought that it was a contemporary nice take on the South parish shuffled things up a bit with the judges and it was Simon's turn to deal out the compliments I didn't feel like you connected with the song and I didn't I felt like it was kind of a struggle for you [Applause] Peretz I have to disagree with Paula it was very good I thought it was an excellent choice of song but the nice street didn't last long because everyone knows how Simon feels about country music [Music] that salt was just so peculiar like country music it's okay you're right I don't say it I don't yeah suddenly Simon was back to his old tricks I thought the song was horrible Mandisa to be honest with you I did get booed for being constructed because I think you gonna have to do better than that in the future I thought it was safe boring lazy safe boring and lazy yeah Simon's love life ladies and gentlemen but tonight Simon's love life isn't in question it's yours America who did you love and who will be going home your results are coming up tonight we're gonna play it a little differently contestants I'm gonna split the nine of you into three groups of three one of which is our bottom three here we go good luck dim the lights and let's start with Taylor you sang take me home country roads would you stand up head right here to the near side of the stage and start the first group Taylor thank you sir Mandisa you sang any man of mine would you stand up head down here to the middle of the stage and start another group remember three groups of three one is your bottom three tonight okay Eliot you sang if tomorrow never comes would you stand up and join Mandisa in the center of the stage now Parris you saying how do I live head on down here I want you to join Mandisa and Elliott in the middle of the stage making our first group of three come on down and now ace you sang tonight I want to cry stand up ace to the far side of the stage you're gonna start the third group and on a cross bottom three that's what we're looking for now Kelly you sang fancy stand up and join Taylor right here on the near side of the stage okay Chris you sang making memories of us would you join Taylor and Kelly near side of the stage making the second group of three Kathryn you sang bringing out the Elvis Bucky you close the show with best I ever had both of you to the far side of the stage please making the final group take a look and what your votes have done who is in that bottom three ladies and gentlemen is it ace Catherine and Bucky perhaps that is your bottom three or maybe you've decided that either Mandisa Elliott or Paris will go home is this your bottom three here we have Taylor Kelly and Chris potentially your bottom three tonight let's make it a little easier for one of these groups America is voted Taylor Kelly and Chris you are all safe you may have a seat so who is leaving us bluesy sexy and peculiar Bucky the judges thought you were in your own element and in the other group Mandisa paula liked you Simon however thought it was horrible Elliot the judges thought you were fresh but lacked confidence finally Paris the judges thought you had a tough time that's what they thought but what did America decide let me tell you now who is in the bottom three Bucky Catherine Ace you are safe you may have a seat congratulations guys which means man visa Elliott Paris your bottom three this week America take a look at those faces remember this is what you decided but before best volkl's of all five seasons Mandisa one of your favorites as well what do you make of these two do they deserve to be here I've always said this you know no matter how good the singer you are you always gonna be tied to the song you sing if I have to guess based on the song was the thing Eliot you'll stay good luck guys the person with the lowest number of votes leaving us on American Idol and going home tonight is Mandisa Eliot you are safe you have been such a great spirit on the show men decent so many fans out there now in the studio we have loved having you with us you'd like to say
