e no on the stick mana SRS Runway Auto is lo 89 press that 2 500 3 rotate [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] he everything [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] w [Music] w [Music] [Music] sh [Music] hello hello what is going on everybody welcome back to the channel piston Saturday man I was just so fired up that I figured I'd throw a little just a little extra juice for y'all I know that wasn't a b60 Duke but it is the same engine like coming Tio 540 I believe the Duke's 541 it's a different turbocharger on it but nevertheless very very similar same horsepower um Chie is actually a little bit bigger than the Duke but uh you get the point same deal the sounds are freaking awesome the Duke sounds like the video the video sounds like the Duke I just can't get enough of the Duke so we're doing more Duke fine today we're sitting at an a mer flight hanger right now in Burbank and we're going to head up on a real world route that I've done in uh this uh well not this particular airplane but I've done it before on a twin piston and then uh maybe we do another route uh tomorrow or Monday but um yes it's going to be a fun one Blast Off out of Burbank heading to San Louis Obispo uh should be a fun one up the coast we are IFR on this leg we got a clearance already baton we got some Center online and it's going to be fun so I hope you guys enjoyed that alixa rastas thank you so much for the support 36 months more stuff like this oh man appreciate it there'll be more coming Alexa there there'll be more Alexi Alexi rastas there'll be more coming um when we do our day in the life of an a Flight pilot I have another video that I can share with youall so um hold on one [Music] sec so yeah it should be fun hope you guys ready to get this one going uh who else is here Scott's in the house Keith B is in the house a Nick Zack lewi is here spous p f C receptor team vodka I believe this is team vodka here in the king air and many more let's come out of the hanger you can see here that yes indeed am flight hanger I actually did my check ride right on this ramp right here I actually have a picture of Chie actually have a Navajo then I have a picture of a 99 walk out to the ramp from this very very spot so here we are approaching our b60 Duke Grand Duke with the juicy uh turbocharger sounds now I'm kind of working on to don't mind my upside down flag here or a slightly tilted flag I'm working on I'm going to straighten those out and then I got the old am flight scratches up there on the top so it's going to be absolutely spicy once I irn out that little flag up there I'm be rocking this Livery for a while this particular airplane is uh just got me so I mean it's I love the cesna 310 I love the milis 310 but man I am absolutely in love with with this uh Duke I mean just the all the features that it has and it's just it's so good and the cockpit is so good and I just can't I can't get enough of it it's like when the TBM first came out man I couldn't stop Flying TBM then the Leer came I was flying the Leer couldn't stop Flying like I'm flying this piston Duke around and I just want to fly more I want to fly more I might even do another stream tonight we might do a night stream to see what this puppy looks like at night um Billy B16 how does it compare to the fly someware I'll tell you this from the fly someware the 414 I've said it before great great airplane I love it good sound set good systems modeling the only thing that it lacks is to me it's the it's the I don't want to say maintenance program but it's like it lacks a soul because if I can't break you if you don't if my ga airplane doesn't punish me for flying it incorrectly then why would I fly it correctly you know why can't I just shot cool the turbochargers why can't I just mess with the pressurization you know so having a indepth highly detailed simulation Under the Skin puts these airplanes like the just flight all the just flight GA stuff the black Square stuff it puts them above the 414 for me and I have nothing against the 414 I love it I think it handles well it's a great bird but I kind of put it close to how the pc12 is right now the pc12 best pt6 um single well one of the best pt6 sound packs for the single engine you know we have pc12 in the TBM PC2 Great Sound pack and great model great cockpit but it's just lack Soul right because you can do anything you want to it and nothing is going to happen to you so for that reason it lacks a soul and that's why I got to put these airplanes in front of it it's just like you you own it you know fly it like you own it and that's how I feel with the black Square aircraft and the just flight GA stuff so um that is what drives me to these airplanes and that's why I put them above the 414 but I mean it's still a good bird Firefly dropping 10 gifted memberships dude I appreciate that very kind of you thank you sir if you pick up a membership from Firefly make sure you say thank you Firefly I think we're out in your neck of the woods right now right we're in the uh out here out west isn't this where you do some firefighting stuff actually I just saw that there's a firef fire firefighting Squadron on the 146s that are hiring right now out there in California so anyway we're going to get this thing fired up holds also for the uh any builds a300 no so no soul on that one I mean I could well I thought it has some soul with the Marin ter or is that the 310 no because the the a300 has it like wears down the tires and stuff so I feel like that one that one actually has a soul but um to me my airplanes and especially like you know you can say you can put airliners in that category but to me airliners there really shouldn't be I shouldn't say shouldn't but there really doesn't need to be a maintenance function because flying 121 Airline stuff you show up you fly the airplane it'd be cool to inop stuff as long as there's failure Simulator the major systems like and you can and you want to study like the Phoenix for example a study level airplane stuff you know but it's not like a ga stuff where you're flying along and your RPM gauge stops working or you're um you get a boost controller failure I I feel like more stuff happens on GA stuff than it does on airliners so um you know but the Phoenix is like is the Pinnacle of airliner Sim and I I got to tell you I think the black Square uh Dukes TBM got to be at the Pinnacle of GA stuff and you and the commanche throw the commanche in there as well albeit it's a single engine piston so I do love the single engine piston a game every now and then but for me I got a Turbocharger this is where it's at man right here these big Lycoming 540 engines absolutely love it Beast of an airplane um and it's just so much fun to fly so here we go let's fired up and uh let's uh let's figure out our flight plan here so first things first let's go ahead and remove the flight control chalks remove the uh throttle lever stops so make sure we're idle forward cut off that looks good I'm going to come down here we'll turn the nav light position on that way when it's powered up um we'll have the nav light on everything else looks good the nothing else to check here we'll go outside or I tell you what we got to pull our covers off so let's go in here let's go ahead and pull the pedo covers engine covers you can see I load loaded us up here pretty good um not necessarily taking it as as passenger weights I'm just loading it as weights in general in the cabin so uh I got us loaded pretty good in the middle of the CG there we're 6600 lb so we're getting up there to our 7,000 Max takeoff weight which ironically is actually very close if not almost exactly the same to the chief in right at least some of the ones that we had but um anyway um let's uh let's continue on here so we got our our payload a left engine right engine 100% thank you very much uh Team vodka we got our electrical cabin and here you can see on my failures I'm going to bump these up let's go oh 25x reel that's let's keep it at 10x we're going to keep it at 10x real time for our pip or I keep saying Piper gez for our um Duke now could you imagine black Square where you at can we do Piper Chief maybe Piper Navajo maybe how about Beach 99 airliner next I mean you've got the pressure well there's no pressur in the 99 but you could do like you've already got the cabin you've already got the pt6 simulated Beach 99 black Square Beach 99 black Square it'd be so so freaking cool or Piper Chie Piper Chie we got a we got a hound black Square for that anyway um let's see all right everything has been removed you can see our Cal flaps are in the full open position down here now this airplane is obviously much much nicer than the PA 31s that I would fly Freight in so this is like premium Deluxe Freight we'll go ahead and pull our keys off the dash you'll see that uh nose will close we got our little uh hatch open and I'll tell you what let's just go ahead and close the uh cabin door as well so we're all closed up we're on board we're going to fire it up we've already got our clearance so let's go ahead and turn the battery switch on with the battery switch on and I'll turn on the avionics here real quick so we can set up our radios and then we'll do an engine start Mallen thank you for 16 months of support dude very very kind appreciate that best intro after the Epic interview with Miss V1 hey appreciate you Mallen thanks for that appreciate your support glad you enjoyed that intro my man glad you enjoyed it so having circuit breakers is having soul I disagree uh well no I think having circuit breakers is is part of the Soul um you you know if they pop but if having circuit breakers that pop in accordance to their Associated systems you know like if you blow a fuse or something and then that system won't work until you activate like strobe light for example and then when you if you turn the strobe switch on then it it senses that it's blown and then the fuse will pop then um as some of the examples were given before from black Square so that's the kind of stuff that I really really like plus I also really really like you know this uh like engine condition and then if you look at and the meantime between failure mode like so you have all these averaged failure hours right so the instrument air partial panel let's look something little like or a fuel leak every 2,000 hours on average is when someone would have a fuel leak you know and you can increase that I just love that I mean look at all this stuff avionics ice detector all this stuff just absolutely that's that's what gives this airplane soul and I absolutely love it uh some people can drag can't drag the tablet around Manel says you can have you tried I tried moving it Dall I can't move it either I don't know where you were where you supposed to is there like a special click spot but yeah I can't move it around either it's almost like it sits right there I'd like to be able to put it honestly I'd like to be able to put it right here on the seat would be cool um yeah I'm having a hard time driving it myself though dle all right uh while we're uh on the box here we got 122.8 as Unicon but we're going to need to contact La Center 3555 so let's put that in there 3555 that'll be on active one we'll mute the radio for now uh going out of here we're going to be on the vanise 3 departure I'll show you here on my Navi graph uh hopefully we'll we'll depart off of eight and be a right turnout heading 213 to fill more which is 112 decimal 5 so we'll put 112 decimal 5 right there in active one that is set and also uh we'll push this and get it over here 112 -5 now I did install the kln 90 mod and it's fantastic but I don't remember how to use it it's very complex I'm going to have to study the manual on that one but um I did get it installed it's pretty nice I wasn't going to bring a 5 430 with us today but I did uh just because of um some of the IFR airspace or yeah IFR stuff we're going to be doing today just make a little bit bit easier for streaming purposes um than just going straight uh round gauge but all right avionics is off let's run through a quick B4 start flow so um park brake is set we're idle forward cut off on the uh Power levers here we'll get our pressurization after engine start we're clear prop right we are clear prop left and we have the battery switch on we're going to leave the inverters off first thing or second thing we do we're going to get the pre- oiler and with the pre- oiler we're looking just outside of the red about 15 psi on the oil here it take about I 15 seconds or so you can see it slightly rising up and should keep on coming baby you want it just out of the red Andrew Dixon good to see you man welcome to the stream glad to have you on board anytime now there she goes boom see it popped out of the red all right we'll go ahead and turn off the pre- oiler we're going to go full forward on the mixtures and we're going to go ahead and start the uh primer and a real easy way check your engine page here this is kind of cheating you want to get a little bit of fuel on the cylinders but not too much here we got left and right that looks good let's go ahead and kill the Boost pumps bring the power levers to idle crack the mixtures right about Yonder and we'll leave this up here for starting right engine so clear prop guys take a listen to these sounds let me juice them up here for you starting engine number two right left both cross handle here hand on the mixture and throttle all right she's coming to life run that power up th000 RPM once she set 1 100000 RPM since we're basically sea level just bring that mixture back about halfway so we don't foul the plugs hold it about 1,000 RPM now uh with our number two engine already at 1,000 RPM makes it easy match your throt levers boom so now when we start number one we should be right about 1,000 RPM clear prop my yoke is shaking on the desk it's so cool I forgot here let's bring you guys on probably see my yolk shaking all right there she is she's up and running bring you back to about halfway for now th000 RPM on both we can go ahead and get rid of the tablet we don't need you anymore after start flow let's start with the top Master avionics main inverter generators one and two coming online fuel boost pumps off cow flaps should be full open on the ground or depending on the temperature um we do need to warm them up a little bit so I'm going to just go ahead and close them for a few one two three close them about quarter away all that's going to do is help warm up the cylinder head temperatures a little bit faster it's 77° out here we're going to be taking off relatively soon all right so I'm going to hide this cam for now uh but we are fired up we got our after start flow let's continue on let's come down here oh I should have turned the beacon on should have started with the beacon on uh we're going to H hit all this stuff here in the runup uh we'll come across here we're only going up to 14,000 ft so we will set our pressurization pressurize right about 3,000 ft on the cabin and and rate knob this is not like turbine Duke you don't have to go bananas on the rate knob right there about uh 45° or so is good uh on the rate we're going to go bent blower high and we're going to go Auto cool right now 77° so it's relatively comfortable in the cabin you'll see the air conditioning scoop open up here check that puppy out how cool is that now you will see it go into ground mode the same as the turbine Duke now I think I made an oopsy I got to check but I think you're supposed to actually have the air conditioner off for takeoff so you close this scoop Um this can uh and will affect performance if it were to fail in the open position so if you were to have a single engine at a high gross weight and air conditioner failed you're just you're just setting yourself up for failure so I'm pretty sure that should be closed for um for takeoff but we'll leave it right now everything looks good let's go ahead and set our GPS up okay we're going to let you get the position we'll do our quick flight plan in there we're going direct Filmore and then uh we got our squat code 4702 so let's power up our Garmin transponder GTX 327 so our squat code is 4702 on the ground here in Burbank 4702 and we'll just put you on actually it should be on altitude for uh on the ground right now for these guys so 4702 is set Radar's on there's really nothing out there which is uh pretty nice as far as uh weather's concerned our flight plan we're going to go uh fim Filmore enter after Filmore we've got Victor 186 to Romeo Zulu Sierra so I'm going to have to double check here on our it's a straight line isn't it oh it's basically Dino so we're going to go de o I'm looking on my uh navigraph I know you can't see it but we all know how to read navigraph charts by now hopefully de a n o Dino will enter you Southwest USA after Dino on Victor Airway it's then it's basically direct to uh San Marcus Santa Barbara VR which is Romeo Zulu Sierra so we'll go ahead and select Romeo Zulu Sierra there is one Waypoint on there before there but we'll be fine after Romeo Zulu Sierra we direct to the field I believe right oh no um well yeah we are technically are we actually F mqo let me double check yeah direct Mike Quebec Oscar so we didn't file the airway there which is good there's a lot of way points on that one so Mike Quebec Oscar moral Bay Southwest USA and then at the very end uh we'll put our destination in there of kpp kilo Sia what is it Papa Bravo I always mess this one up no s Bravo there we go always confuse those all right flight plan is in the box that looks good get rid of the cursor FL Flight Plan off and matter of fact we'll go here actually let's go back to flight plan and let's go direct F more activate and we'll leave it on the map page for now but we're going to actually keep you in round gauge for the departure 12.5 we'll tune that in our departure procedure calls for a right turn out of here on the vanis 3 show you here van eyes 3 will'll taxi out um hope hoping we're just going to get we'll request uh we're right over here at the mlight Hang request Runway eight for departure and on the Sid vanise 3 off8 it's a right turn heading 213 we'll pick up radar contact and eventually go direct to Filmore we read the textual climbing right turn heading 213 so that's in the Box assigned by ATC top altitude is 4,000 that is set magic Barrel ref key check our six-pack is good you can tap on the glass if your G if your GES if your gauges are stuck um which is a really neat feature you can hear it tap tap I love that feature just realism to the next level all right our radios are set last thing I will do is I'm going to set the uh Runway head roboat heading I said 213 yeah 213 on the heading so we'll spin you back to 213 here oh sorry I left the navigraph on the screen I'm just going to leave that sucker off nobody got time to look at navigraph charts all right 213 close enough is set and we're about ready to go so uh we'll give him a call right now 3555 3 maintain we'll pull we'll pull up to a spot up there on the ramp so we can we'll let them know where we are we're going to be base of the the tower essentially 673 maintain 2 for sping 2 for spacing 52 Ming La Center good afternoon am fly 202 on the ground at Burbank base of the tower requesting Runway 8 with the weather ready to tax it contact 2805 sorry 37 best for Speed until rer than I got to figure out which is my radio okay there we go that'll work wait which one's my radio which one's my primary I thought that was C this is my Comm one interesting oh yeah I see that because I see yeah 2805 that's my comp too SoCal good afternoon am flight 202 on the ground in Burbank base of the tower requesting Runway 8 with the rathera ready to text imply 202 so departure did you have a clearance that's primitive and 4 702 inly two2 Roger rooll 8 uh are on the north side of the airport uh we're on the south uh let's see yeah we're on the South Side flight 202 Roger 8 taxi via Charlie from Taxi via Charlie and FL 202 all right or 646 Alpha Whiskey rollway 8 follow the uh a FL we'll follow the a king air coming out behind us all right don't forget the TPS reports all right running out here to Runway eight we'll just do a quick uh run up we'll do an abbreviated run up we'll check our volts and amps on our anti ice we'll do two prop Cycles get some fresh oil in the hub you can see here our cylinder heads are basically in the base of the green so I'm going to go full open 26 right clear for kickoff we go full open on those Cal flaps now just had them partially closed to help expedite that warmup process if it's super hot you don't need to worry about it just keep full open on the ground they will warm up trust me about 70° cold airplane just help them a little bit all right so holding short of Runway eight we'll stop here kind of at a 45 so we can see any Landing traffic we'll set the brake all right run up here so couple things we're going to do take a look at our volts let's go ahead and I saw very slight jump ped Heats you can see him jumping they all work so we got our Heats we don't need them right now so but we they we do know that they are working because you can see the volts and amps trickle so now let's go ahead andun two2 rway 8 clear for takeoff turn right heading 2 one0 climbing maintain four all right heading 2 one0 Runway a clear takeoff and flly 202 quick cycle of the props and 216 still got a p push in the alley your discretion check our manual boot pressure you can see the DI ice pressure there beautiful all right let's go full rich full forward on the props let's get our pumps on let's get our lights on heading 210 4000 is set we'll go Beacon and recog and nav and strobe and Pitch trim is on for the autopilot if we need it that was that was a quick that was a quick run up oh we got a bump there all right right turn heading 210 climbing to 4,000 ft Runway 8 now turbocharged piston engines don't bounce them off the governor it's almost like a two-stage power set so you'll hear the turbo here let's spin it up you hear the [Music] turbocharge now nice and easy nice and easy nice and easy that turbocharger all right full power power set manifold pressure is in the green whoa we got a nice little cross one there air speed is alive Los Angeles 63 radar contact climate maintain 1 3000 1300 [Applause] [Music] start the right turn heading 2 one Z we're climbing to 4,000 bumpy today 120 knots on the speed aircraft calling for radio check loud and clear Los angel3 descending 16,000 14,000 K 673 still approach altim 296 Center maintain 1 1,000 all right approaching 1,000 ft maintain 1 1 low the nose I'm going to bring the manifold back about 32 radar contact passing 1.8 for 4,000 and FL 202 202 CL and maintain 8,000 CL maintain 8,000 and 202 all right 8,000 is set we're on heading 38 in now let's bring this back to about 2900 get it off the red line there 20 or 28 if it's Friday we'll do 29 first4 run that trim down a little bit go ahead get our fuel pumps off 2.5 for four we're nice and trimmed out look at that bird fly is great bird fly is great once you get her trimmed out 130 knots in the climb out now we are clean sunation over here the cabin is climbing oh I totally forgot to turn the air conditioner off again forgot to turn the air conditioner off but you can see now tail to the north we're going to be in and out of some clouds here so let's go ahead and get our uh our heat on Microsoft icing purposes no need to run any prop Heats yet 646 off the team only eight click take off turn heading 210 climb and maintain 4000 all right looking at our fuel flows about 180 or so here on the initial climb out turn right heading 3 Right Turn 3 and fly two2 all right brought my mixture back a little bit got us about 190 on the fuel flow making a right turn now to heading 3 leaning the turbocharger is a little bit different than just leaning a straight piston twin um if you lean for Peak you will probably end up cooking those turbochargers so there's again Aviation there's different schools of thought for a whole bunch of um our procedure where I worked was we used we would lean for a fuel flow so that would be how they wanted us to lean we'd lean for fuel flow um predetermined fuel flows that we knew at certain temperatures and altitudes were going to be sufficient to keep the engines cool and it wasn't running wide open was approach good afternoon back memory B here if you don't even have any reference just take a look at your gauge here so this is your takeoff fuel flow this is climb about 75% power 65 and 55% power of fuel flow now when you're doing those things you also want to monitor your cylinder head temps because if you keep leaning it too much if you lean it too much you're going to be running those engines too hot and you will cause undo stress but uh if you also run them too rich if you never lean them in the climb out and you climb up to this altitude this airplane's got a SE service ceiling of 30,000 ft you will bog them down and you will have issues so you have to lean them um depending on how high your cruise alude is is going to dictate how much leaning procedures you're going to have to do now for us today leaving sea level climbing of 14,000 we can be Ballpark and be just fine it's also a short but if you were filling up the tanks on this airplane and you're going 30,000 ft you need to lean according to the PO so you don't have issues short flight like this though ballpark figures is all you need2 proceed direct Filmore direct Filmore andf flight 202 all right so we've got it already dialed in let's go ahead and scroll our HSI until the needle is which is right there start the turn so right now we're we're not even using our GPS we'll Center that needle there's our altitude 748 check ready to start on Del yes uh DG you're right this does climb higher the the Duke turbine conversion you lose a little bit of service ceiling I'm not sure why that is I don't know if it's a structural thing but you're absolutely right d the turbine is limited to 28,000 a piston version can go up to 3 so I I'm straight honest with you I don't know why that is I'm only speculating it's something to do with the structural limitation because obviously those pt6 could keep going if they wanted to maybe it's a differential pressure thing I don't know all right here comes 8,000 ft we got a temporary level off I was a little late on that just floated the boxes in the back there that's all right boxes don't right that's a good part about flying fre eight trim it down let's go ahead and we'll do an intermediate level off here we'll bring our power back andly 202 climbing maintain 13,000 climb to 13,000 and flight 202 all right 3000 get that nose back up run that power back in we didn't even lean yet so that's all right about 38 in it be fine we'll do another quarter inch there on the uh lean now down here I'm also these are also our uh cylinder head temps down here it's a digital readout so you kind you can kind of gauge see what they're doing and when we get it up to cruise out to to get the auto pad out we'll talk more about cylinder head zero a I almost need a little bit of Aon trim on this puppy let's [Music] Rudder that might have been too much maybe just one click one click Aeron trim there we go but I mean she's I mean look at that I guess I didn't need it at all maybe I was just fighting a little bit of wind there I mean once you get her trimmed out flies like an absolute dream heavy right all right looking at our DME we're 17 miles out I'm going to come down here and get our uh redirect going here on our Filmore redirect enter activate now we can see 135.5 a 3555 and flight 202 see out of 10,000 ft let's go ahead and get our lights off we will go Beacon only and we are out of the icing condition so we'll go ahead and save electrical power these aren't we'll talk about that here in a minute two up at Cru La Center good afternoon and flight 20215 climbing [Music] 13000 we'll also switch to uh GPS flight 202 La Center welcome climate 14 14,000 clim 144,000 and flight 202 so what's interesting oh you know what I think that's why this is not reading there we go we need to be in Arnav let's redirect it [Music] no so my rnav my GPS is actually a nav 2 source that's interesting I have to figure that out here let's go autopilot on attitude heading right now that's fine CDI is in GPS mode um let's see HSI Source nav one but nav one does not own or does not have a GPS that's going to be problematic so we're going to have to back it up with this but keep the needle in uh VR you see what I'm saying chat because this GPS is linked to our second OBS very interesting because this is this is nav one this is nav two if you look at my options here primary is the kx15 which is this little guy right here altitude alert so in the second are is at 430 that's right we can do it I mean we just uh we just got to be on it that's all we'll just keep it in heading mode and I'll tell you what I've uh amount of times I've flown the airplane in heading mode mod if I had a doll off for every time I'd have probably $10 no probably more than that actually what's interesting though is I don't have any nautical miles or anything like that the 5150 La Center contact welcome boarder whiskey pass 8.6 for3 6 for 6 Alpha w g Center welcome climbing T 166 64 Tango let's fly the airplane we're close enough there on our heading all right leveling at 14 14,000 couple things we need to do first down we're going to go left to right so we're going to bring our manifold pressure down Main 5 we're going to go4 go 3 4 in bring props back fude and then 5312 64 Tang actually just be clim 5000 Runway call for taxi M 5000 call tax synced up and with our fuel flow we're going to lean for B mean 1 2,000 for 230 55 Center welcome climing flight lev8 there we go all right so we've got uh 34 26 and we're about 75% on the uh fuel flow so Cruise checks are good double check our cabin everything looks good we go ahead and turn the air conditioner off we don't need you right now it's 70° uh matter of fact we'll just keep it in Auto low is fine we'll bring the scoop back up Oto it's holding us right there at 69° that's just fine uh up in Cruise we've already got our Heats off uh we're going to make a turn here at Filmore I'm leaving the airplane in uh heading mode right now cuz we're about to make a turn and then I'll get to the uh the chat here let's go back to live screen live full screen Camp all right sorry I missing the chat there for a minute again these are one of these airplanes that are just awesome flying airplanes but especially when we're on ATC here but if I look at my Navi graph coming off of Filmore VR we need to join 250 so let's go course mode and select 2 right there there's our two from flip so we'll go ahead start the turn and then once we get established outbound we'll actually go into AB mode and we'll track outbound on the 250 Z radio November 8 Z whiskey Juliet uh you said should the GPS still linked with the HSI though um no because it would be linking this one and this autopilot is only go the Sentry 4 autopilot is only going to work off the primary HSI so if my primary HSI does not have a GPS with it you're not going to be able to I'm assuming I'm assuming that's what What's Happening Here If I to put the gns 530 as the primary then you would have GPS nav and I know that works cuz we even did that the other day so that's all right we'll go ahead and establish outbound here that's fine you can see our flight plan here matter of fact I'll go to the flight plan page we'll activate the second segment menu activate leg activate there we [Music] go little bit S turn here we'll go into nav mode close enough let's see how she does probably turn over there and capture it oh look at that though hop swap to the 530 I might do it on the ground in St Louis Obispo Greg FC receptor so I'm not I I'm not using is the 430 working title the 530 oh the 530 is the TDS so the maybe the 430 is working2 but I'm not sure because like I said I mean it's it's just an awareness GPS is what this is in this case then because if this airplane was outfitted this way and it the the autopilot could not follow the GPS then technically this GPS is only for situational purposes right you can't file slant golf unless actually you probably could because you could use this as a CDI I got to check I got to check the regs on that one uh I think you could fly with this as an actual CD guy now this is this is still really nice to have you know when I flew as you saw in that intro video there was no they would ain't no GPS in that bird literally held together with speed tape and and uh and God knows what else Bravo cross pirate and maintain flight level right we're level 14,000 though we're settled in cabin is rapidly cooling so we're going to need to go let's go Auto heat we may have to I don't want to start the janitrol we're just going to freeze ourselves off how about that I will do it as Auto heat as much as possible but uh we ar going to start the janitrol heater we got our leather jackets yeah the aircon flap is open which now it is closed so we're going to let it try to do its thing here man I love this airplane all right let's get settled in look at these views I'm going to read back in the chat here sorry guys missed yesterday's stream What did the play money mean uh spoy so the turbine Duke I did some research if you had a a a Grand Duke like this one here and you wanted to retrofit with the rocket engineering PT 6s it's going to cost you a million dollars just to do the retrofit let alone the price per hour cost and maintenance cost and training so I wanted to label that stream Fu money because everybody everybody loves to have a little Fu money right um that's really what if you have a turbine Duke you probably have that money I just realized something here we got our c still open let's take a look at our temps our cylinder head temps are on the bottom of the green so we'll go ahead and close them up two 14000 should be close enough now our cylinder head temps will probably rise up a little bit we'll keep an eye on them I'm actually surprised there's no gauge in this airplane for your cow flaps it's kind of unique maybe you just have to time it all right so our cow flaps are closed looking at our cylinder head temps there they're in the green everything's in the green oil pressures everything's in the green green looking beautiful our fuel flows are good we got gas on board and we're just cruising chat cabin is pressurized our props are perfectly synced right now but you could use a prop syn if you wanted to but we're professionals out here today so we're not using any prop syn 1991 la [Music] sounds on thisd are just awesome there's downtown LA um I'm watch with yoga used to the going back in the chat here guys I'm trying to catch up 5390 La Center contact this is pressurized Isaac yes what if you press the V just above air speed does that switch H side of yes it will switch it to GPS but it will be flagged out because the prim Ary HSI would have to work off of the primary GPS my primary GPS the way it's set up is not the 430s so I think this is actually correct behavor unless I'm completely like just misremembering here I think this is correct Behavior 25 Juliet 29 n 5 the bar now with interesting as you can see we're a little bit off course there but I mean we're we're using the the needles now we got to make a we have a change over Point here you can see Dino uh then we got to tun rzs after we hit uh dino we got to join the San Marcus which is 114 decimal Niner have that in the standby we'll put you in uh this one here see if we can dial you in now 11 14.9 you can see we are getting VR2 nav that looks good and yeah see this I think is CDI out here it's interesting American 1991 proed life V probably the inbound radial is going to be 109 outbound so that's going to be oh jeez what's the opposite of one [Music] 109 it doesn't my trick doesn't work so there's 110 so 109 is going to be 279 279 on the heading so I'm actually going to select heading 279 we'll go heading mode M 202 proceed direct theal Bay direct moral Bay ml 202 all right so that's going to help us out we'll go ahead and stay at 279 and now we'll go direct Moro Bay which is actually the next Waypoint which hopefully we can uh IDE it this far out Morrow Bay VR is 112 decimal 4 let's see if we've got it we may not we might have to use the GPS CDI 112 decimal 4 not quite so what we got to do here let's go to our flight plan let's go mqo direct enter enter and then we'll put this on this mode here you see I think this is bug because we should have a cross trck play C 295 we should have a cross track here you see what I'm saying that's what's I think we might have a slight bug so we'll just go heading mode here we heading her all the way up there yeah so the da42 default flight M TOS with the absolutely nailed did the recent updates that s feels good as command sh can be done uh what are we talking about are we talking about the talking about the takeoff I know David's complaining about the squirly takeoff Behavior I think that's because this is supposed to be in Sim update 15 right it's supposed to have the Sim update 15 ground physics um and of course this is not sim update 15 so I wonder if that will change but in Crosswinds it is it is pretty squirly um I'm going to have to tweak my ruds I noticed that in the turbine Duke as well it was pretty squirly so but it's still it to me it's Superior flying than the Comanche even Stone David like just hand flying this puppy around is uh I find it Superior honestly I find it almost superior to the 310 it's right there the 310 hand fly so good as well the 310 is a little bit more doile right it's not as aggressive you don't have turbocharge engines your straight piston so it's a little bit more docile in terms of handling I don't really want to say more forgiving because the lack of turbochargers actually makes the 310 more punishing if you were to lose an engine um but this airplane is more it's just more [Music] aggressive hit CDI on the 430 then your second VR will do it [Music] well see no now it's just check it's it's just tuning this 14.9 which is the other VR which we don't need right now uh which is 124 we need 124 uh which is Mor o Bay you can see we have no reception of moral Bay it's a little far out so the only way we can na there is through this but this tells me that it's bugged because we should have a nautical mile in track tomorrow Bay right now we don't have that in the GPS so this particular 430 is confirmed boat um so we are kind of just pink lining it I will hot swap it to the 530 on the ground because I know the 530 didn't give me any issues in a test sector so we'll we'll hot swap it to the 5:30 once we land but right now uh we're doing just fine and as soon as we pick up the moral B VR here we'll be even looking better off the working titles are bugged in the current version this is uh why they're waiting for s aha see Lucas thank you I appreciate you um that makes sense and no I am not using the Sim update 15 beta sprious pod I am running whatever the last stable is so this is no sim update 15 beta or anything like that I'm just running straight normal uh let's get a a look at our air speed here we'll set our outside air temp is minus C is on the inside [Music] right yeah so 0 minus 10 so we're going to look at our indicated air speed we want to figure out how fast we're actually going uh true so it's minus 10 and we're at 14,000 ft so we got to find the minus 10 so 10 20 30 now we're going to scroll our cruise altitude under Theus 108 window and this is like a mini e6b you'll see here our true air speed is going to be changing so we're at 14,000 ft we want to put 14 under the minus 10 line so right there so right now we're chewing out at about 230 just under 230 knots y'all see that it's kind of hard to zoom in on it so to find out how what your true air speed is take your outside air temp right now it's minus 10 so this goes in Celsius that's 10 20 30° and then you put your cruise altitude in the bottom window right below it so we are at 14,000 ft right at- 10° we're chewing out at just under 23 so you could use that for additional uh performance calculations if need be the kln90b is very nice Michael back I installed it and uh and I'm and I was messing with it but I I don't remember how to operate do you have to the kln 9bs in chat do you guys do you have to innit your lat long I thought there was a way to or I thought there was a way to um I only used k90 like three times and I was being trained each time on it um I thought there was a way when you load it up in the k90 that you could put a reference like airport in there not your lapt and I couldn't remember how to do that so I was busted out of the gate but I do have it installed it looks nice if I can watch a tutorial video on it and maybe get it back in my memory we'll use the kln 90 more but um yeah I can show yall the k90 when we get in the when we land on the a pilot posted a video on increasing a completely different action or different section of control Lodge help let me look around it really helps uh yeah Force let me know pilot and post a video on increasing completely different section I'm very interested what that is uh says black Square on the jet fly form said you put a hot fix up okay I mean honestly could I wouldn't mind flying this straight up just regular uh round gauge no GPS I mean that's how we should fly this puppy but we're looking good here I'm going put you guys on the outside you for a second list these oh look at that I need to uh hold on guys I got to answer this uh call real quick give me a minute what you heard what I said my first officer is shaking his head right now would be the first time November 646 Alpha Whiskey proceed direct the field direct field all right let V far as FAA approved I doubt it no not Cru gedge oh look at that shot [Music] though I just learned how to use K 90 watching Kip's video kind of insane for a '90s instrument I know it's pretty um it's pretty Advanced for its time oh I love this Duke now the only thing I wonder where the turbo is on this on these are 541 so our vents were we had this whole panel was a vent panel and you could see the turbocharger at night on the right engine which we don't have it on this one contact approach3 maybe it was the left engine I don't remember I have a video of it somewhere you can see that turbo glowing at night which is just spicy just our heading here just a few degrees to the left look at that yeah Greg it is surprising what it can do water what's up man if flat VFR Za approved I'm a rated 380 pilot on the Xbox controller oh man 398 is back 398 welcome back descend via the angel 4 Ral onar 299 so after this uh we're going to we'll hot swap on the ground and then we'll uh we can do some GPS up up to the Bay Area 39 I'm feeling like we got to do you guys want to do a PM stream in the Dukes 299 do a night stream in the Duke somewhere where could we take them could pick up out of Hayward and West CO 4,200 climbing 5,000 West Coast is just so much more for pons because of the we'll have to see we'll see what's what's going but I'm actually curious to see what these puppies look like at [Music] night fly on the North to see the Northern Lights it's already night time here FR not CER clim I know for y'all for y'all it's probably pretty late even D's probably dark I'd hot swap to the PMS TDS they're not bugged all right spio yeah I I used the uh what did we use yesterday TDS and it worked just fine we'll try the TDS Kip mentioned the commanche would get the kin also nice man PM stream with basic V nav oo where could we fly maybe we could take it in we could do like a I got to find a route that'll take us where it's not super crazy with changeovers maybe we'll leave from like monay to to Sedona well because I want I want to fly over some terrain at night in the Dukes that's what we're going to do we're going to do a Night Flight in the Duke raw data only no GPS cheating that's going to be fun look at this I mean that's with Bakerfield viia out that way wel back PM stream with stalls and Spins yeah no thanks but I'm I'm with Dall at the very beginning of this stream I think this is this airplane is becoming more exciting to me than even the 310 now I'm curious to try the just the straightup Duke because I don't love the Grand Duke with the winglets I wish I could fly the Grand Duke grand dke Grand Duke without winglets but I know that's not how it how it is uh how it's rigged up um plus I love the turbocharger sound you know but I I don't think I've even stepped foot in the regular b60 without the winglet we might have to take a look at it I just think I mean this Wing is so juice with the vortex generators on there and no uh no winglets now I've got a video somewhere I'll have to see if I can find it I had a fuel cap leaking on after takeoff you just see it just pumping out over the the lid was closed but I think the seal was busted and just spewing out how to do an air return land back in the old Hayward look at these this color is so much a mar flight color this is a just fly Livery I just put a mirly logo up there and then uh I was going to put it on this side but I'm not skilled enough to do it where it goes over this door so I wasn't able to put it on that side then I got straighten out the flags I put 300 Bravo Tango we used to call it 300 tits is what we used to call this airplane because it was such 300 Bravo Tango was one of the worst Chieftains we had in the fleet I mean it was like uh I don't even think it had a GPS uh matter of fact it might have been the one that had the k90 if I'm not mistaken um and it was just I don't actually know it didn't have a k90 but it had um it had one of the older autopilots like this is the century 4 which is actually not terrible um I want to say it had an 30 which just like was super sus all the time it was basically a turn coordinator autopilot and the amount of times it tried to roll you in IMC it just was not very kind nobody liked flying 300 BT you think the Piston sounds better than the turbine spus I tell you what man the Piston it's just more more raspy more raw you know the pt6 is such a a a refined beautiful harmonious engine sound whereas these turbocharged Pistons are just raspy aggressive you know I like the scratchiness on the surface you like that fractality yeah yeah I like that too thank you little my artist uh what are we doing we're doing 200 200 knots and correction we doing 190 knots andly two2 six Alpha Whiskey speed4 jeez freaking King Air is smoking us all right that should work out then and play two2 discretion of 6,000 2 N visual 2 ner expect visual 2 Niner P discretion down to 6,000 and FL 202west 635 no Noe no NP n 635 Center welcome clim flight level 280 2835 all right so we just got DME hole I'm going to turn the autot off for for a second so we got to do some Mental Math we're at 14,000 he gave us 6,000 31 mil out so call it uh 6 12 18 146 I tell you what we'll trickle down we'll trickle down to 6,000 what do you even talk about stage cooling all right we'll go autopilot on we'll hit that down we'll trickle down I probably shouldn't have set six right away there oh you meant the comp text reest fine never mind8 problem change by thank you David Isaac gifted five memberships appreciate you man pick up a membership from David Isaac make sure you say thank you all right real quick here on The Descent couple things we need to hit on so stage cooling what is stage cooling real quick I did a whole video on this I'll probably have to reink it in the Discord ially what makes these airplanes challenging is you cannot just bring your manifold pressure back to idle because if you do that you're going to shop cool the turbocharger and you're going to cause damage and or crack it so there's a couple different rules for stage it's either two in every was is it 2 minutes or uh manifold pressure below 25 in or air speed below 180 knots I think those are close to Ballpark SO2 turn right heading Z4 sequence right turn 040 in flight 202 all right so it's going to be a hard right turn 040 what I'm going to do now is I'm going to go ahead and pull back two inches so we're at 34 let's come back to 32 six Alpha Whiskey descent and maintain we'll start the clock so I'll bring my yoke back up here Chrono [Music] I should have showed you guys my yoke it's working too it's following the airplane which is pretty cool Delta indicated so the uh we got two minutes you can see we're increasing speed which is fine we go all the way up 230 about two inches every two every two minutes how about Reno to SFO or Selenas or Fresno I almost wanted to go to Fresno thret I saw there's a scenery there but I like I don't know if I want drop 20 bucks on it I do like Fresno uh 39 I like the idea of Reno because Reno I've been to Reno and the chief before at night and that's sus going over those mountains so I definitely think we could could do Reno maybe Reno with you on the N we could do that Reno to oaklander welcome climing level7 370 what's MFR Firefly I2 turn right a right turn heading 29 Z set maintain 5,000 all right right turn all the way around heading two ner zero to send and maintain 5,000 and F 202 all right so he's given us the 360 treatment that's fine this is what happens when you fly slow airplanes in busy airspace radio check calling for radio check by and he gave us 5 000 on the out dude so five is set Mather it's Mather right Medford Mather 5150 keep spinning that heading knob round you got to be careful you don't go all the way past what you need it to be or past 180 and then it will come back make a left turn you don't want to do that so now that 290 is on the same side of the turn we'll scroll scroll in 2 Niner there 2 Niner Zer 5,000 is set we're on The Descent now as we descend about every 1,000 ft or so we're just going to crack we're going to add just a little bit of mixture just about a quarter inch or so bump that fuel flow up because remember if you lean it out now coming out of 14,000 ft not a huge deal but if you were to come out of uh you know 28 25,000 ft you're all the way lean for Peak and you try to go down to field elevation you're going to choke out your engine they're probably going to the roll out from the turn you'll have traffic 12:00 a indicating 4,8 we'll be looking uh M FL 202 all right so I've got our nav one now we're picking it up we're 27 miles out I've got our I've got our uh HSI working now that's been two minutes oh it's been 246 let's go ahead and bring it out let's come 30 in 818 contact approach 1.6 in is set we'll go ahead and reset how do I reset the Chrono I forget press and hold it there we go reset you all right we're rolling out a heading 2 ner Z down to 5,000 increase rate ofc higher right now but you've got traffic at just above 35 and you're on the same routing for a while so uh yeah s about that no it's just kind of cool to see the Yol moving at the same time as the airplane absolutely love that about this yo the force feedback is just it's made G flying more funon monter trucky Taho after 11000 some good op I'll have I'll look at it I'll look at them all tonight I'll I'll see what kind of sceneries I have and then we'll go from there I think I have a Reno scenery do I have a Reno scenery Del 971 descent the round is two arrival one left all right so we're on the desent uh couple things we can do here let's check take a look at our pressurization we're going to be landing uh basically uh field elevation right so I'm going to slow the rate down here and I'm going to set field elevation which SE level so the cabin is going to slowly start descending we got our pressurization set how's our maintain the speed Let's Go Auto cool 45 Delta red speed you can see our air conditioner scop going to open up here Auto cool is coming down about 30 seconds I started that late so I was about 30 seconds late so we can come back down to 28 in now 28 in on the [Music] manifold let's go ahead and reset start the clock two more minutes 6 T getting ready to come at 10 we're going to get Landing lights on Taxi lights on and for awareness we'll go Beacon and [Music] recognition oh I'm not going to see that we're looking at fight 202 1,100 you think I'm not going to see that guy down [Music] there5 Delta I tried calling you there red speed to 28 it'll be an episode of Blanco Lio [Music] CMO you like that one that was a fun rout we yesterday team vodka got to cut us off via ATC that's pretty awesome and two2 turn right heading 315 traffic will be 12 traffic or field will be 12:00 about ner miles right turn turn 315 and uh we got the field sight for a 202 it's way down there 202 good for me clear Vis apprach Runway 29 clear visual 2 Niner M flight 202 all right I'm going to run the props up I'm going turn the autopilot off I'm run the props up because I want to see if I can get uh a little bit more drag now he left us he he got us in here pretty service termin I don't want to be quite full there let's go about 2,800 I ran them up a little too far get a little bit more mix there's no way we're gonna make 29 dude we're 9,000 feet1 Papa La Center radar climbing I'm going to ask him for a right 36 32 via Papa and Center FR flight two2 you mind if we do a right 360 here we're just a little bit High 22 any Roger do things all we're going to make a right 360 here in the turn a good day 4117 that'll help us come down as well we don't just want to shot we should have been we had a little bit of a issue there with oural nav not working we got a little bit we it snuck up on us a little bit close traffic 6:00 2,000 report them sight I there's no way I'm going to see somebody at 1,000 ft when I'm at 10,000 unless it's [Music] night oh God I love it all right uh two niner will be our Runway visual don't to put any approaches in there make this right 360 field elevation down at San Lou BAS I'm trying to load up na yeah 212 so there's three minutes now we can go ahead and bring that power back below 25 in now we can really start that decent so you can see we were just about one or two stage cools late if we had started stage cooling just about 4 minutes early we would have been able to go idle and then we'd be able to make this decent much uh much easier yeah the outside sounds are just Insanity aren't they deler at 5,000 he clear us for the visual approach I'm going to set 1,500 ft actually it's 200 so we're th000 above we'll set 12200 he cleared us for the visual so we can keep on coming down we can be powered to idle here actually we'll get the uh gear horn is there no gear horn mute fly 202 Runway 2 N clearland wind two n clearland and fly 202 I guess there's no uh ear horn M we'll come outside here so we don't have to listen to it there's two niner we're on approach run that prop up 2900 give myself a little bit more drag let's go ahead and get our mixtures in a little bit more almost full Rich Center Southwest 19 [Music] I got flight I can't see the screen I can't see the screen I can't see where we're going1 recordings on all right I'm back where we [Music] at9 all right there's our v9 it's going to be tight flaps approach counter that down7 now for 788 laer welcome climbing 29 that be [Music] your gear down now we can trim that puppy back now she's really going to slow down all right we're on Final let's get our pumps on props coming full forward gears down flaps approach normally I want to say normally but you can land flaps approach you really don't need full flaps on this particular Runway 120 knots on approach about 100 knots as you cross the threshold as we get ready to be about 500t above we'll go full flaps though just to as we're in the white Arc full flaps you got to be in the white Arc 135 on the speed Del pitch and power for about 100 knots 110 100 knots over the numbers no no really not much faster than 100 kns over the numbers you're going to oh I forgot to get G's on dang itate all right Gump checks complete gears down mixtur props throttles 100 knots we're looking good chat Delta 971 keep speed up until uh rounders keep the up we're not an airliner so we don't have to put it on the markers if we don't want [Music] to no 45 Delta po oh that was butter hard on the brakes I want to make we'll make this next one we'll make speeds at rounders we can make the reverse I speed all right as we get ready to clear here th000 RPM bring those mixtures back about halfway get those pumps off foul those spark plugs if you don't man I wish we had G's on for that that was a hell of a butter barely even heard the touchdown sounds and the touchdown sounds are fantastic here on the8 that a 575 Center welcome climbing L go to 55 do window open for juice we'll clean it up here we'll stop short get our brakes on we'll get our window actually before you open the window we'll come over here to our cabin we're still going a little bit let's go ahead and dump the cabin M flight 202 on the ground in San Louis abiso we cancel far thanks for the ATC all right so he's off so we'll go ahead and uh open the window for juice bring you up I see a 310 over there I think somebody I think I saw a king over there play two2 thanks all right coming in the r here we'll kill the avionics we kill the kill the Jens kill the inverter actually before I did all that I should have shut the uh air conditioner off that's right we're just taking it on a turn We'll Kill the Lights all right in here we'll set the brake spool them up th000 RPM at least 12200 that's fine idle cut off idle forward cut off magnetos off off and Battery switch off now I never opened the cow flaps on Landing so that's one thing we got to make sure we we take a look at for the next engine start that we do open them up I'll listen to them ticking oh oh my lights just fell off here hold pretty sweet pretty sweet First Flight there in the Piston I'm going to save this replay this will be ksbp landing now we'll hot swap a radio and we'll get ready for our second leg we also got to open up those doors so uh let's pull out our tablet let's do that first let's get the nose baggage we'll get the cabin door open let's come over here and let's throw in the the 530 and we'll do this as the secondary radio or you said the the 530 is bug too right so we got to use the gtn 750 we'll use the gtn 750 on this leg and tonight we're going to do zero GPS team vodka thanks for flying along man thanks for cutting me off see you at the wedding team vodka is off he's going to go to a wedding well I'm not going to see you there but have fun at the wedding anyway so this is what we'll swap into a 750 and no radio or just a radio in the secondary so let's confirm that now I I did notice this before in other airplanes that have hot swappable radios if you swap them and you don't reload the flight sometimes the GPS and autopilot will have an issue we're going to cross our fingers on this one we'll hope we hope it works here so I'm just going to leave it like that for now now is there a ground power I'm curious external power maybe we don't we can't get it here because we're not at an actual ramp maybe yeah yeah we can't get external power here that's fine so we're out on the ramp we're unloading let me get a uh let me get the uh Flight Plan up here how do I feel about the honeycomb Bravo I love it man the Bravo throttle I love it because of its versatility you've seen me uh change this throttle from cesna 310 King Air fer F28 like you can make it be anything you want now I know some people that have had issues with this cross my fingers knock on wood so far mine's been fine um there is another throttle out there that I am really trying to get a hold of for y'all so I can show you guys some stuff before it's fully released but that's all still under wraps team vodka knows what I'm talking about and I can promise you the one that I am working on getting my hands on uh will replace this in a heartbeat and be a probably 10 times better so um chocks maybe let me take a look at that let me go back to full screen cam here maybe we do need chocks I don't I don't let's see maybe you're right external power no I think it might be because we're actually not at uh not at an actual spot but that's fine let me refile this here let's get a new Flight Plan new flight will be continuation of ampf flight 202 so we'll still be 202 and we are s PB no SBP where the hell are we SBP and we're going up to Hayward the home base and we are in a b60 Duke b b e b where is it b60 Duke Grand Duke quick question can I use EDM 760 you mean what's EDM unit to lean Oh you mean the um you mean the uh yeah the engine Trend monitor is that what you're talking about out okay so classical gaming yes you can if you're on the Piston Duke absolutely it's you you can you can lean for Peak lean for like what is it 50 degrees Rich of peak EGT you'll be fine but Grand Duke I'm not saying you can't lean for Peak but you've got to be careful at how long you run it that hot because the grand duuk with the turbocharger is is a little bit more demanding and it's going to it can have issues if you run it at Peak e GT for long periods of time so um check the p on this next flight hopefully we'll get the autopilot working with the GPS and then we can take a look into the manual specifically for the grand duuk to see what it says this turbocharger is a slightly different model than the one that I used on the uh on the 540 Lycoming but it's I'm it's fairly similar I think it's just the way it's uh it's mounted all right so that's our flight plan we're going to use our 750 so we've got uh that's all in there we don't need the packs The Crepe 3 out of San Louie we don't want to do that no we don't want to go in board we want this flight plan here mqo passo Robel Victor 25 Aussie uh we're going to go up to cruise altitude we'll see what it gives us here let's go ahead and generate the flight we'll file it we're not even going to do a b back screen we're just doing this in real time we'll offload some cargo pick up some new cargo and we'll head that way so I'm going to file this real quick quick and I need to disconnect and then reconnect uh David Isaac it is the honeycomb Bravo throttle we'll take this one up to 16,000 ft that's fine uh air speed and knots is probably going to be 200 dial that back just a little bit 57 minutes in route a little bit longer flight plan so we'll have to look at our fuel burn for that all right Flight Plan has been filed I'll reconnect connect let's see our flight plan is in there s Louis to Hayward beautiful all right and we're going at 16,000 all right let me recycle fly live let's edit you should be reset what sceneries um will H I'm not I cannot remember who made this one I think there's only one option right for uh for St Louie and I think this is I bought this off the orbic thing so whatever one of oric is it's pretty good little scenery man I use this a lot for my corporate jet testing San Louie and monter and and uh there's another one down here too I'm drawing a blank um but yeah I believe I got off the orbic thing can you do full tutorial of the 339 Neo no when we get an actual 330 then maybe all right let's take a look at our bags here let's go ahead and change we'll offload some rear weight and we're going to need a little bit more gas we're going to need to top it off we'll take 40 we'll take 40 we'll go 40 gallons uh which is 1.8 hours endurance but we're going to run it fast so that should be plenty of gas there with the reserve Fuel and we are gross weight at 6,400 tell you what let's lighten it up just a tad let's take 370 out of the nose let's go a little bit lighter offload cargo here so there we go we're 6200 lbs about 500 pounds lighter than our last flight we're all set up there on our weight and balance that looks good now I'm curious because I don't have any uh I'm going to reconnect here normally I get a PDC here let me reconnect HF flight 202 Beach 60 Duke Flight Plan I really don't like this new hold on I gotta disconnect again I don't like this new Flight Plan filing thing here for these guys are a this is so like confusingly stupid all right refiled all right I guess we're not getting PDC that's fine uh let's see make sure there's nobody on above us SBP technically we are under control of La 3555 we'll talk to it we'll get a clearance and then we're headed up to Hayward all right cool flight plan is filed am flight 202 in route burn 242 lbs let's fire it up let's get one engine running and then then uh and then we will do our avionic stuff so you could see here this almost looks like it's trying to Vapor Lock us that's pretty interesting see the red it's building a vapor lock so let's go battery on let's go cow flaps open I thought there was a way there we go let's open them fully is there a specific Advantage this turbocharger to a turbo prop at this plane turbocharger is uh much well it's less expensive than a turbo prop that's for sure and you get more performance much more performance with the turbocharger um than the straight piston but a turbo prop would be superior but more expensive all right so our Cal flaps are full open we going have to see if we get a little vapor lock there um we don't need to do any pre- Oiler I don't think we need to do a pre- Oiler cuz we're hot so uh we will crack the throttles here and I'm going to crack that let's just see if we can get a uh we'll do a quick shot of Prime on number two run those up Let's see we clear that vapor lock here we go oh jeez Let's Go full open right pump There She Goes fuel pump off Crank It come on baby come on come on you can do it that starter's getting hot let's go to the left engine this is this is wild so our our right engine's Vapor locked we let that starter cool let's go ahead and uh get the prime open left engine Oh wrong throttle whatever there we go the wrong throttle open here comes the fuel there she comes crack the throttle bring the mixture down here we go start baby there she goes all right so we got one running that's good yeah we got a vapor lock on number two how cool is that pain in the butt bring that mixture down about halfway all right we got a good start on number one uh our right engine starter is still cooling let's let it cool for a few more seconds let me just uh get the avionics on here real quick I want to make sure this loads up properly yeah looks like it's going to work and this is going to work here that looks good now I'm not going to be able to uh save the flight plan toss System test okay I don't know if it's going to work cuz it's naved out you see that Southwest 1942 round two arrival Runway one left transition Vegas left generator on charge that battery up two arrival we'll pick up a clearance from this guy and then we'll start one2 while we let that starter cool La Center am F 202 on the ground in San Louis vispo like to pick up ourr clearance to Hayward and flight 202 La Center you're cleared to the Hayward airports via the OD tomorrow Bay then as file clim 5,000 expect 16,000 5 minutes after departure 7317 all right clear du Hayward uh ODP obstacle departure moral Bay transition as filed 5,000 16,010 minutes squawk 7317 for ight 202 ight 202 rebank correct 29 for departure call ready for taxi 29 for departure we'll call you ready to taxi FL 202 7317 there is good we got our squat code we're going to do 5,000 initial 5,000 set turn we going to turn the radio off here in a second all right now we got to uh I tell you what we're going to leave the avionics on a scw it we'll turn it back off avionic coming off inverter off so we don't mess it up on the start and let's take a look at our all right our starter has cooled off very nicely let's give it one quick shot of prime here fuel flows coming up all right Prime off match the throttle position please baby come on come on there she goes bring our mixture back down about halfway all right now we got two good starts now we can go ahead and get everything fired up avionics Master generator 2 is on cow flaps are full open we've already done our initial runup checks that all looks good Beacon's on nav is on let's set our uh Cruise altitude our final Cruise altitude 16,000 bring that rate up about 45 degrees that looks good we'll go Auto cool on the blower air conditioning flap's going to open over here our cylinder heads are nice and beautiful all right let's load this flight plan up here so we're on the Hayward or let's see load procedure System test okay now the ODP let's take a look at this we got a it feels like a re from yesterday except we're in the Piston which is arguably almost more fun uh uh departure Sid ODP departures Runway 2 Niner we know where it is crep frees the other way Wier four trees begin trainer line fence line okay take off obstacle departure notes obstacle departure takeoff notes minimums takeoff obstacle departure Runway 29er climb on heading 290 to intercept the moral Bay 050 to moral Bay and hold continue hold and climb uh Southeast left turn 306 inbound across Morrow out of above 4,000 M for route of flight so uh couple things we need to set up here Morrow Bay intercept the 050 to Morrow Bay so so let's go back I wish I could just put a Runway 2 Niner in there right we'll go back go back go back add wayo mqo moral Bay after moral Bay good afternoon top0 passing 1 1, 11,000 on the R 2 except maintaining flight level 100 which is going to be Paso Rob Papa Romeo Bravo how it going this Mike what's up man good to see you we're just fired up on our second leg here we're getting ready to depart head to uh head to Hayward our home base uh we need to load Airway Victor 25 41 go ahead Tod for1 omn o all the way down there Woodside that's loaded up we'll load that and then from there direct to Hayward Hotel whiskey Delta Hayward Executive Airport loaded in messages are cleared out back map page is up now we got to do kind of an interesting little hold situation 050 radial off Morrow Bay that in Del Karen it is uh it's ridiculous how detailed this airplane is absolutely love it a the 050 radial which is going to we got to do the 240 inbound right yeah we need a 240 inbound dang it spin baby spin oh yeah hold shift much better 240 inbound that's what we need to intercept I wonder I could put this in OBS mode but off 29 all right that all looks good I'm going to zoom it out just a tad all right 5,000 in is set I think we're looking good pit trim is set let's close it up head over to the base of the Tower and we're ready to taxi taxi lights coming on brakes released let's go oh dang I just cleared my squad code 7317 on altitude that's what I want La Center amp flight 202 base of the tower ready taxi with the weather uh there were two aircraft there and flight two 2 Runway 29 taxi via Alpha 29 2 Niner taxi VI Alpha 202 all right 299 5 is set oh my gosh navigraph has been up the whole time sorry y'all sorry thanks Firefly a 2727 rate contact Lo let's go panel light on here so we can see a little bit let's get let's turn the red off just the white light all I want right now 295 Lake offine we've already done our runup checks everything else looks good we can bring these to half here because they're plenty open or there plenty cool two it's about halfway there taxi out 2 Niner so Runway heading it's intercepting the two 5 Z inbound hopefully he'll just give us a radar Vector shortly after departure when the fuel introduced into cylinder turns into vapor because the engine is hot and more fuel can't flow in exactly John so it it atomizes the fuel atomizes in that's that's one of the problems with the fuel injected engine is the fuel will atomize in those fuel lines and it becomes what's called Vapor locked so once it becomes a vapor it's hard nothing will pass through you get that essentially a fuel bubble in the line so you can't get any fuel to the engine to start the engine so you got to clear it out there's a couple different ways you can clear it out basically when ready takeoff two ner clear for takeoff two2 um you can uh you can go wide open on the throttle and crank that starter so you can clear out the the fuel Vapors that's one way to do it probably one of the ways to do it all right Beacon recognition strobe and nav Landing lights are coming on we are cleared for takeoff 5 ,000 is set mixtures are coming up we're sea level we don't need a lean them Here's 2 Niner uh cool so you could wait until the engine cools all the way down um that's that's could take a while what we had to wait for is our starter our starter started getting hot so not only did I have to wait for the fuel Vapor to clear we cleared the fuel Vapor but then the starter was turning red um so we had to LIF the starter and there are real world starter limitations that you have to be very mindful of all right let's spool them up and get out of here listen to this turbocharger one oh we got to turn the air conditioner off for takeoff I actually remembered check that out so this is going to close listen to this [Music] oh man these sounds air speeds live we're rolling rotate wind straight down the runway much nicer now you know what I don't think I ever reset my trim positive rate Gear Up fly with [Applause] [Music] oh so good so good La Center H wind all right I'm looking at my second HSI here for navigation got 240 s we're going to keep climbing we got to comply with the ODP here so basically 120 are blue line Delta 75 Al there's th000 ft lower the nose just a tad back to about 39 in bringing the props back 2900 sync those propellers our CDI is alive on the bottom and departure amp flight 202 we're at a 2.3 CL 5000 on the ODP off 29er San Lou here's our two so let's go ahead and start the turn back to the VR Play2 R contact come maintain a 16,000 202 Southwest 1942 at Roman cleared is all right 16 is set now I forget what the hold was uh 29 so to VR hold climb and holding patter hold Southeast left turns 306 inbound I'm trying to do a hold entry here on the fly so 240 306 inbound we're going to cross probably just do it direct right yeah be a right turn all the way to the opposite of 306 theal 26 outbound so be a right turn 126 outbound [Music] so we're not using nav one we're using nav 2 here I've got my CDI on GPS mode we got to get above four so now technically we're above four so I think that above four for route of flight so we don't need to hold anymore so if we're above four I don't think we need a hold anymore so we will start don't have FL if we were below 4,000 ft we would have to continue this hold this turn to one uh what did I say 106 but we're above 4,000 so we can continue for route of flight now so now I'm going to continue to lower that nose accelerate to about 140 knots here in the climb out and now I'm going to follow my nav 1 HS side which is sync to my Garen so trim it down just a little bit more there give me 140 and let's go ahead and quarter inch back there on the mixtures lower that nose we are cooking with gas now discre and all right cabin's pressurizing everything looks good 74° air conditioner's off we don't need it all [Music] right gosh I love that sound outside man let's get back on our course line here Joe you end up picking these birds up I know you were thinking about picking them up inste set of the 414 let's get her dialed in here turn the Sim down a little bit November 705 Lima that's there we thank you you're cleared to the moday airport via the obstacle departure to Mor Bay M Quebec Oscar direct Papa Romeo Bravo than as files clim maintain 5,000 persan CL maintain 6,000 and SP 671 Me by when you stream GA I tell you what Billy I just I'm having so much fun with these birds man mic like I love our Phoenix I love the pmbg I love our fuers I love all the airplanes in this Sim but it truly is a different level of joy and satisfaction when you fly GA low and slow and I mean we're not even that low or slow in this it's just a different level of satisfaction and enjoyment and I can't really explain it until you until you experience it yourself in the Sim you know it's hard it's hard to beat I think I think the true Aviation Enthusiast really get what I'm saying I start multi- engine training next week I'm glad I pick these practi heck yeah absolutely practi in these birds absolutely we're a little bit late there on the mix Lane let's go ahead and bring that back just a tad more once we get up to cruise we're going to dig in the P for leaning procedures on this particular airplane double we'll double check that I'm not just blowing smoke I go through phases of GA then airliners Etc yeah Billy I do go through phases as well you're absolutely right a lot of phases in the Sim there's 10K let's go ahead and get these lights off just straight Beacon and nav 187 La our tempts everything looks good cabin's pressurizing temperatures are fine we'll go Auto heat there at a 10K keep us nice and warm Spirit Wing 788 at Roman cleared ILS Runway one left first Cole I agree there's a there's definitely a different challenge factor with G bird as the Disney I mean but this this bird you get her trimmed out I love flying with the Bruner man I don't know if Bruner is going to Expo but if y'all are going to the Expo and the Bruner Booth is there you got to try it for yourself then you guys know what I'm talking about so we got a little bit of a crosswind here it's pushing contact I keep coming to the right and I keep getting blown off so that tells me we got ourselves a little bit of a cross so let's go ahead and come further jungly Sim was gifted a membership from Billy B16 what jungly SIM out here ghost watching the stream Billy B6 thanks for that thanks for that gifted membership man very kind I'm more upset jungly Sims out here ghost watching The Sim jungly what's going on with you man Joe play sou R says I also got it never got a chance to be at the TBM but I think I'll hold off until they update it oh you know what time to the round two arrival yeah I love the TBM too but this airplane brings more with the tablet for sure I'd love to see the tablet interface there for the TBM I'm get I'm tired of s turnning we're going to do an auto attitude hold here autopilot on nav attitude hold maintain 140 climbing to 16,000 [Music] and we're looking good we're climbing like villains now 194 Pistons have inertial STS no no thrust set they don't that's just a uh that's just a turbo prop thing because remember the turbo prop is bringing air in to compress it and give you thrust there's really no the only I mean there is air going into these engines but it's not um 7 Li Runway 29 t Echo Alpha cross on Echo it's not like forced induction through a turbo prop through the compressor hot section now this air is coming in it is and it is filtered you know there is there is thanks for the ATM flight two2 so um so I mean that's a good question but yeah there is no intercept on this they're definitely not a so um I'll have to link cuz I did a a whole video on the turbo charger and exactly how it works uh on these engines a long time ago I actually did an explain look your turbocharger RPM 103.8 that's crazy um it'll be a good refresher there's our alert box we're on 228 we're on Unicom let our level off I full of retro fixes for black scare in the works that's what I've heard Force rptor FC receptor Zippy's here what's up Zippy Mr starter second leg is a 750 yeah 750 is working just fine I honestly think it was because I the way I had it set up I might have to try the working title again I swear I had my working title working just fine working title working just fine what does this mean low heat low heat right in the middle it's 74° all right as we level off here we'll go ahead and close the Cal flaps a little bit and we will set Cru power come back to 34 in bring our props down [Music] 2600 get them synced up [Music] there and come back to about 75% on the mixture all right [Music] I found Auto it tends to Auto coordinate for GA interesting uh SLO I have not noticed that I'll have to pay more attention to it cabin temp is like it's perfect 75 degrees in here turn it off for a [Music] second does that mean it's perfect When You Reach 75 deges [Music] 73 bring it right about there not sure why it's blinking at us yeah Jonathan I don't know that normally tells you when the cabin temp is low or high right now our cabin temp is perfect 73° we're pressurized everything is working just fine I'm not sure why it's blinking at us SLO picks up a membership from Zippy zpp SLO sure you say thank you to the legendary Zippy Zippy thanks for that man I appreciate the support we'll go ahead and close cow flaps all the way up now and then we will uh I'll turn the volume down and we'll set in here I'm going to pull out the manual I want to look at these leanings proes that should be fully closed we're looking good let's take a look at the outside view here for a minute I don't know where we need to park it I guess we'll park it right here turn you all the way down all right I'm going to pull out the manual y'all I want to read a couple things as much as I love those sounds I think it's better to just chill like in the cabin view right here all right we're set in here does the tablet show anything what do you mean for leaning it shouldn't uh let's see combustion heater is working turn it off buting heater's off temperature will drop rapidly let's see if we can just get it cooled put it here at 1200 noon Zack vwi you loving the G8 content lately awesome man I'm glad you're enjoying it because I'm enjoying it too pul sock is down to 86 still in the green that seems kind of low pull the trade table out yeah no trade table on this sucker all right I wanted to look at Clear cylinders clean plugs we don't want to do any of that turbocharger RPM is down 83% or 83,000 RPM we have an active failure electric bus two right uhoh did we pop a breaker oh look at this I reset the breaker oh it just popped again uhoh electrical bus 2 powers out cabin altitude high well we're fine maybe it can't read it the cabin is at 16,000 cabin is so we didn't pressurize she didn't pressurize chat uhoh where's our O2 masks is there an O2 mask we can put on where's our O2 MK chat we got to descend we can't be up here at uh 16 ,000 ft we need an oxygen mask where's our oxygen mask do they not carry oxygen Mas because it's pressurized I think you have to I think you have to where is the mask can you not put it on all right we got to descend down to 10,000 ft I'm get getting very very sleepy will this ruin my cruise my my cruise and chill music here all right we got to drop down to 10 thou uh we could do 12 cuz it's day VFR we'll drop down to 12,000 we'll go 12,000 we'll go attitude and we'll go down just a tad we got to get down 12,000 ft oh my pressurization dump switch is still in dump scratch [Music] that chat we had the dump switch on my goodness not to mention we also have a bus two failure I have to pull the checklist out let's go Auto heat see we warm it up a little bit all right cabin's coming down we're coming down we're all right pressure zero we're we're uh where there she goes cabin's coming down differentials climbing we're we're getting there chat we're getting there crisis averted all right okay both lights will flash rapidly when the cabin pressurization exceeds 15,000 ft without supplemental oxygen to indicate a hypoxic cabin Greg thanks for the info man oh geez I distinctly remember V1 skipping the pre-flight we did skip the pre-flight uh oxygen check which do not do chat do not do that's all right crisis averted uh there was a super chat I was going to get to as well uh who was that Johan Jacob sorry man I got super hypoxic there we had the cabin in dump mode and uh we all just almost passed out and pulled the pain Stewart or helios's flight but thank you so much for the 140 Zar love your stream so much to learn from you V1 thanks Johan thank you so much for that support I hopefully uh I didn't miss you there on the uh on the thankk you because I noticed you dropped that a few minutes ago but appreciate the support man feeling sleepy just a little bit just a little bit sleepy I was trying to get in my manual for the uh we got to look up the bus two fault and we need to look up our well we don't need to look up the pressurization cuz we saw that so bus two and leaning procedures so cabin pressure yes I know there look I just opened the manual to the uh to the cabin thing all right uh is there no supplemental oxygen controller though I thought for sure we would have a supplemental oxygen [Music] mask that's all right all right well you guys enjoy that I'm scrolling through the uh spark plug fouling no no turbocharger Basics no critical out to no during climb and cruise using an a to engine leading such as EDM is Monitor precisely set mixture for best power that's what we were talking about someone asked about the EDM yes that's that's a great way to do it because it's very precise much more precise than what I'm doing we're just doing short flights though but yes if you want to if this was your own airplane you would absolutely uh probably use the the EDM to be as accurate as possible because you want to treat these babies as kindly as you can because they are expensive to fix uh let's see engine power settings here we go Full Throttle maximum continuous power fuel flow uh between 10 and 20 should be 133 if we extrapolate that maximum continuous 75% 133 on the fuel flow let me take a quick look up here what do we doing we're doing hey that's about what we are we could actually bring it back we're a little bit Rich 100 150 so that's 125 we're pretty much right at 130 um if I go to our digital fuel flow oh isn't there a way to uh lean Rich of peak EGT cylinder head temp I guess we just we can bring it back just a tad more we should be 130 on the fuel flow for 75% so 110 20 30 so we're basically right on it at this altitude so you can see by ballparking it the way I was doing it by bringing it back about a quarter inch every th000 feet or so as you climb up you're going to be in the ball park um now the longer your flight is and the higher you're going the more important that's going to be and maybe tonight if we go over the mountains at night we will use I will um we'll do the lean Rich of peak and uh we'll check that out but you can see here we've got our EGT is 155 614 is going between two cylinder heads 370 so they're all in the green which is um oil 202 I'm not sure what clld is battery volts difference gallons per hour 22 gallons per hour is that US Dollars $11 per hour 22 bucks an hour on the fuel that's com be more but I'm just looking at the manual table um so for our 75 continuous power standard day we should be at 133 on the fuel flow if we wanted to go down to 65% we could actually lean it to manifold pressure 30 and 112 we should be right about actually we should bring this back a tad we're at 34 in we're running it a little bit high at 24 I mean we we should probably wasting a little bit of gas here let's see if this changes our speed much we're 180 indicated let me bring this back a tad bring back 2 in 32 in on the manifold now and let's run this back up to 130 a little bit more fuel There She Goes so 130 on the fuel flow 32 in probably not going to change our speed all that much still holding right about 180 that's going to be a little bit nicer to our engine we're not running her quite as hard and you can see it only a change of maybe three or four knots USD is used okay that makes much more sense thank you I was like US Dollars that's high that's fancy you could set the price per uh gallon of fuel on the uh EDM oh man look at that though that's just this is awesome view there's a button above the co-pilot to get fuel flow on the Dem a button above the co-pilot stack to get fuel flow above oh uh EGT fuel flow all EGT interesting I'm just going to keep it in all is it all is it just keep cycling is that what it's doing when it's in all mode I mean I'll just use this gauge right here I mean this is very rare did I have a fancy EDM 760 in any of the airplanes that I flew mostly it was just these up here that's how we did it um I actually like this fuel I actually like the other fuel flow gauge better that's kind of split so have one on the left and right so as you increase power the needles kind of go up left and right um this one it's easier to read but I don't know you I like the other one because you knew the second you looked at it you were looking at fuel I mean even though this says fuel right there I don't know I just found the other one easier to read I like just manifold pressure and RPM to be like this but we got a little ways to go yet I'll tell you what let's uh how's our cabin we're still coming down our ground speed of 220 knots ah we'll leave it we're fine for now I wanted to check out some more stuff in the manual here bring you down to right about there all right crisis averted let's resume our chill music standard day Isa Cruise climb cow flap switch on the pilots Lower Side however there are no cow flap what is this song I don't think so we're going to Skipper you around there there are no cow flap position indicators while this may be frustrating it is accurate to the real aircraft full cow flap actuation uh-oh oh our Sim was Frozen full cow flap actuation time is approximately 14 seconds similar to setting Flaps in older model S aircraft the switches must be held for the approximate duration required uh for the desired setting since this is TDS and flight invisible switch is positioned between the two cow flaps that will act both Cal Flaps in same time which be found so there are no indicators which is true to the real airplane which is very interesting Force Raptor or FC receptor gifted 10 memberships thank you force receptor appreciate you man thank you for being so kind and supporting the channel if you pick up a membership make sure you say thank you what about the electrical fault anything you oh thank you thrust set yeah we need to see if we can find is there like a let me go to the checklist at the bottom we had a bus two fault right let me scroll all the way to the bottom of my checklist here list of possible failures there's a ton of them I can probably check in the iPad too and see the systems that are failed but I want to actually look at the checklist first lean of peak oh I was looking at it's got some pretty cool stuff you got alarms and everything all right in R climb Cru props to 25 for Cruz interesting lean of peak or Rich of peak is the mix uh pedo heat on if less than 4C which we're pretty much right at the limit we probably should turn our pedo heat on I'm actually looking at the cruise checklist now 32 in manifold 2500 on the prop so we're running Friday power we're going a little bit more than the cruise but uh let's see bulk Landing abnormal emergency checklist here we go what if I can show you guys this can you guys see this let me bring up the uh I don't know if you can see this hey you can all right Cole thanks man thanks for saying that man best flight Sim Channel by far V1 has helped build an incredible Community hey Cole couldn't have done it without all y'all you guys are the heart and soul of this channel right I mean y'all this is the reason the community is the community because of y'all and all the support that you give each other oh that's a view right there all right uh high pressure diff generator failure AC doorf no aircraft door I don't see anything about that so it'd probably be in the P electrical smoke or fire so this is where you would want to know your aircraft systems right you want to know what is on certain buses let me hide that for a minute let's come in here let's take a look at uh our circuit breaker is popped for electrical bus 2 let's see what we have running on the electrical diagram here it's a it's an AC right let me see electrical bus 2 electrical power bus one and two so we got two buses left and right avionic starter motor right here left windshield and standby avionics inverter so this is what's faulted out right windshield heat switch must be on usize standby avionics inverter that's interesting it's not the Avan it's electrical bus 2 right pedo heat right propeller heat strobe propeller sink so these I would imagine we lose oh right here yeah right our bus two but it's a backup right because we still have the other bus to so we're fine and right distribution bus is still getting power through the left gen so it's redundant who would have thought I mean we have a redundant system so even though that breaker is popped we're fully redundant right now and everything is still functioning that's the way I've I read this why are we playing Christmas music here what's going on all right um yeah you guys agree with that so the way I'm reading this if the right bus breaker is popped the distribution bus is still getting power from left gen and the left bus two is still powering electric bus 2 so we are 100% AOK in operation right now you can't message land ASAP no we don't have that yet now this is an interesting so to use the standby inverter you got to turn the windshield heat on that's pretty interesting how that's wired up like that so we got the main inverter standby inverter though has to run through the windshield e too efb is topnotch glad to see this becoming more standard yes I know Zippy zapple it really is awesome to see how this is working look at the nose baggage lights that's so cool so we're fine now we're going to keep our meantime between failures up maybe 10x is too much I don't know are we getting ready to go over oh we're going over Monteray chat first jet Landing ever did Monterey California where's the airport should be over there somewhere right over there over there I don't know oh right there I see it off the left wing yeah right there you can barely make it out first landing I ever did in a jet Monteray Airport [Music] yeah it shows the pop breaker Isn't that cool yes spus if we had an audible aler alert we would have heard that cabin altitude go off oh that's a good point check the uh manual for the GPS let me double check I'm reading it right now what is a I don't see anything I don't see anything saying about the GPS I honestly think it's just properly it was set up because my autop here we go let me read about the century 4 autopilot here let's look at this real quick uh relatively simple heading attitude mode pitch trim power switch I've used the Sentry 4 many times I want to see if it shows where it's linked to now I don't have my pitch sync so on the real uh in the real airplane the way this would work it'd be kind of like the ba 146 where you can press the uh switch uh the uh toggle After Burner switch and then you could then move the airplane where you want it and then release it and then the autopilot would engage at that pitch [Music] attitude control wheel steering button Yol but I don't know what the native binding is I don't I don't know if you can even bind this me you can bind it on the 146s autopilot mode can be used to togg without needing to lock down at the pedestal don't even have the flight director on that doesn't say anything about that doesn't say anything about that there's our weather radar we know that works engine condition faults transponder all of our circuit breakers gosh this is what we're talking about on the pre-flight when we did our engine uh or when we did our load checks that's what you're looking left and right generator loads windshield Heat make sure we got volts windshield heat switch must be activate windshield standby avionic AC inverter which is very interesting to me DI ice boots we check that if you get a red it means you lost section on that engine left or right oxygen yok mounted chronometers we've used those Tac timers uh includes hob timers proportional injured current RPM over cruising RPM indicated T of an hour okay so you got to have it over a certain RPM to build Hobs time there's our carbon monoxide if you're running the janitrol heater want to be very careful that you don't uh get carbon monoxide poisoning cabin pressurization we've talked about this in detail uh my ti was at zero so we had no differential pressure which meant that the airplane out out the cabin altitude was at 16,000 ft which is this long needle here which is no good so you want to see this this is your differential pressure um and then of course you when you're climbing or descending you'll watch the cabin climber to send there pressurization air shut off valve piston d from aircraft two turbocharge maximum attainable inflow is dependent upon turbocharger RPM if the throttles are reduced while operating at very high pressure out to use a turbo RPM may not be sufficient to sustain cabin pressurization check valves prevent rapid depressurization of the cabin but leaks in the system pressure Escape that cannot be replaced likely to be accompanied by more spere reduction engine performance so this is high altitude turbocharger management which we may get into tonight I mean it's already 540 I didn't realize this leg was going to be so long we may do another we may do a late night stream we'll see low thrust detector this is interesting I want to read this real quick let's take a quick look see where we are though uh because we don't want to be behind on our desent we're actually getting close we might have to tackle that tonight we're going over Monterey Bay now God I love this Sim can still see the skid marks and the captain's underwear jeez it's pretty extensive fractality spous P thanks for the two year two pound donation man check page 157 of the manual all right man appreciate the 2B Dono very kind of you sir let me check that right now gosh I love I love flying out here on the uh West Coast in Pistons 157 I'm going to come back to the low thrust detector but I need to check 157 for GPS let's see uh let's see why is the autopilot behaving standard not changing modes no that's not it no how do I choose between current avian config select an option page of tablet yes yes yes H is that what you're talking about um no additional packages should be required to work correctly the product only tests with the TDS 750xi freeware PMS which I don't have free working title 530 package installed please see third party and GPS system section for the manual H I'm not um I'm not seeing what you are referring to but I think it's kind of what we had what we've kind of determined does the aircraft you Sim update 15 ground handling Sim update greatly enhanced and cross land these optional parameters were incorpor entire black Square Fleet within 24 hours because the Improvement was so dramatic all right so we need Sim update 15 is basically what what he saying there tip over sideways because you don't have any uh crosswing correction turbocharge is equally accurate flight director did not disengage use the event Auto disengage toggle rather than aut off this may I'm going to have to read this for um binding oh look at that Nicholas C sansky whoever you are you are Legend sir look I have all these have the King Air I have the Caravan real taxiways I don't know if I have that I might need to get it just cuz I love black Square uh have that have that have uh no I don't have the Bonanza but I have the baron so the only one I don't have is the Bonanza I love black Square Nicholas sagansky you're a legend man absolute Legend Boris audio works is also a legend but a very extensive manual set no doubt oh we got some fog on the horizon chat we got some fog up there Sapp Victor 25 Aussie and then into Haywood so we are looking good we'll cut across the bay cut across cut across the finals we may cancel and just go VFR here in a [Music] minute let's get up here and enjoy some uh GoPro view look at that man it's putting me to sleep I freaking love this airplane I don't know if I should be more fascinated by V1 live reading the manual or by the manual [Music] I think we might have been within the useful Consciousness window we might I think so tore 16,000 probably would have been okay Kendrick what's up good to see you Zippy thanks for the two pound donation man you showed me jeson play control you showed me Jon play control EMT fin wa I'm but I don't think I can play that Cu uh is that on that's not copyright free though Zippy right Anthony teal good to see you man afternoon V1 sorry I'm late got the ribs on the smoker oh Anthony teal you reminded me you guys have control I have to pull some ribs out of the freezer right now for tomorrow for Mother's Day so you have control don't touch anything I'll be right back [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] for [Music] [Music] all right we're back sorry thank you guys for uh hanging out oh we need to start down dang it let's go ahead and start our stage cooling right now we're at 32 I'm going to bring it to 30 in 30 in and let's go ahead and start the Chrono Chrono is on 2 in every 2,000 ft we're going to dial in uh let's go ahead and dial in 5,000 ft right now and we're going to go attitude hold and pitcher down a little bit and I tell you what we'll stay on our flight plan but in real life right now we would not be doing this um actually let me check the map make sure no one's coming into SFO I hate flying right across the finals five arrivals but nobody's in the vicinity okay so I'm trying to be cautious because coming into SFO here there would be people lined up for SFO now we're going to be way late on our descent so I tell you what we're GNA scroll our heading to 090 or make it 070 that's that's close enough we're going to come up the other side of the bay so heading selected actually screw that you guys want to let's do a Let's do an Oakland tour screw it come left heading left ight 202 request uh fly over of downtown Oak of downtown San Francisco all right whoever came in and said they got ribs on the smoker you're a legend cuz I almost forgot to pull the meat out of the freezer for tomorrow had to get the steaks out had to get ribs out Anthony teal my man appreciate you dude appreciate you all right coming into the bay area though this is juice there's SFO it should be up there actually it's right there there's SFO right there let's make a a cinematic approach through the bay to celebrate piston dukes and all things andly we need someone to do like an airlight Livery I know it was never on a Duke but a fictional airlight Livery would be pretty cool on the Dukes I mean mine is kind of like man the colors on this default one are spoton matter of fact it's pretty darn good if someone if I could just figure out how to put the airly logo on this side the problem is the door I don't know how to run the text across the door without it looking janky and then I need to fix my flag up here and then I would like to put a bunch of dirt and Grime on this thing I got my little V1 logo on the door down [Music] there Anthony teal yeah Happy Mother Mother's Day to miss V1 thanks man I appreciate you dude yeah it's uh you saved me there bud hard to control a plane while sitting on top of the glare Shield oh let's see are we at two minutes yet yeah two minutes and 24 seconds so let's go ahead and bring you back 28 in and as we continue to decent I'll crack that throttle up about another quarter inch I'm sorry mixture rather we're to 90 on the heading we're going to leave our uh CDI off into La La Land cuz we're going to come take a tour of uh downtown uh San Francisco [Music] here Duke is cool and all with the TBM cockpit jeffl I'm with you man I love the Duke cockpit here I love it I love it so much but you're you're right in the fact that if I were to rate how much I love cockpit on a scale of 1,000 the TBM is 1,000 the Duke 999 it's that close but I'm I'm with you there that when I sit I mean this Coit kind of gives me anxiety just because it's a piston and there a Turbocharger and there's a lot to manage but for some reason when I sit myself in that tbm850 cockpit I get that same level of maybe anxiety is the wrong word but like it just brings me right back to what life was like flying single pilot hard IMC with very with just all round gauge you know and even though this cockpit is more representative of what I flew matter of fact it's almost exactly to what I flew get rid of these GPS units that TBM is just there's something about it that I love man I just love that TBM cockpit and if when it gets the uh when it gets the updates like I think that's what everyone said that they're working on bringing the TBM up to the Duke level of fidelity with the with the efb and stuff it's going to be unstoppable Unstoppable matter of fact we probably do for a TBM stream relatively soon there's two more minutes let's go ahead and bring her on back 26 in quarter inch up on the mixtures increase that rate of descent as long as we don't get up over 230 we'll be fine might have to uh pitch back here in a minute we'll see we're going high speed though [Applause] we'll come in right over the [Music] [Applause] bay I tell you what for extra juice purposes we're going to do a Night Flight tonight if we do a second stream so we're not going to go night mode but I'm going to run the Sim time down into juice mode knock quite night time because I want to save that for when we do our night stream oh how good does that look though let's come right up the coastline TBM here avionx 2x better um I yeah I I wouldn't say they're maybe not better but like I enjoy it I don't know I enjoy the hell out of TB but I enjoy the hell out of this too look at this I honestly they're so close man they're so close TBM is the only black Square plane that can lock V2 on autopilot really interesting I didn't know that 15 seconds and then we'll be stage cooled we'll be at 24 Ines of manifold and then we can bring that power back even further and then we'll just hand fly all the way down so let's go ahead and get some more juice view here off the right hand side I didn't know it could V lock or can lock V2 on autopilot on TBM speed speed oh no this is what you this is the best part uh Force Raptor so in Crews we would never get these speeds right especially when you're flying for when you're flying someone else's aircraft you're running you're running the airplane the way they want you to fly it that's what makes a professional pilot right you fly it the way your operator wants you to fly it um but this is the best part locking that manifold pressure in and just running that autopilot nose down and getting these high speeds that's I I always like oh yeah I'm fast now I'm a real I'm a real pilot flying fast guys look at this view of SFO coming up over the over the bridge here we're going to fly right over the Oakland or the San Francisco Bay bridge and then we'll fly over the Oakland bridge and make left traffic visual into Hayward I'll turn up the sounds this is going to be juice another crack of the mixture forward we're at 7 minutes so we can reset that we could consider the aircraft stage cooled now actually I think we got to be at 24 for 2 minutes but we're close enough we're going to keep flying fast Boris sounds for the T okay so JP JP brings up a good point if the TBM had a Boris sound pack for the engine so I think the there's a ton of Custom Sounds on that TBM as far as inside of the cockpit and switches and everything and they're great if it had a pt6 sound pack from Boris though I think then it would be even [Applause] better oh that's cool what a you [Music] [Applause] [Music] do that is so cool looks like we just leveled tell you what let's keep coming down 3,000 attitude hold we're almost there 3,000 crack the mixture [Music] [Applause] up right over San Francisco Bay Bridge [Music] yeah JP it would bring I totally agree with you man it bring it to a whole another level I took the ferry took the wife we uh got a ferry over here went across the bay it's over [Applause] [Music] [Applause] here Alcatraz I think that's Alcatraz right there isn't it yeah that's Alcatraz Island The Rock Shan conry oh downtown [Music] SFO this is completely illegal actually when you depart Oakland you can request the bay tour or the um and they'll give you a similar track to this a little bit more [Music] Inland and it has to be traffic [Music] permitting this is why we Sim chat this is why we Microsoft lights [Applause] [Music] in this is why we Microsoft lights in y'all all right leveling 3,000 we got to remain clear of clouds we're proceeding towards Hayward we're going to stay on the over the [Music] water we'll descend to 2,500 [Music] keep trickling [Music] down there's the Oakland Bridge wife used to commute across that every day when we were living in Hayward used to live on Carlos B Boulevard coming across the finals of Oakland 2 Niner now [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I we doing on fuel just added a little bit of extra little bit of extra time there we'll run it in the left matter of fact they might cut us across Oakland and be I've come across this [Music] way across o over Oakland at 2,500 matter of fact that's probably more realistic so let's come over top Oakland 2500 ft and then we'll join a right downwind into Hayward executive JJ Stevens what's up man Hayward executive let me check the weather right now 10 miles clear 280 at 13 280 at 13 so that'll put us on 28 left or right we'll take 28 left it's the longer Runway so we'll be left downwind for 28 left over the top of Oakland 2,500 let's get a magic Barrel ref check magic Barrel ref says 299 or two that's interesting and the weather say 29 or one so yeah that's accurate there is a l DME to 2A left 111 fine but we don't need it we'll just be visual fly heading 07 080 rather I knew you were an aight pilot I flew the AMF flight 213 Oakland to Placerville to Reno to beckworth Susanville then Alura great videos I'm subscriber for sure now Brandon Petty heck yeah man long live the amp flight days man long live the amp flight thanks for subscribing dude glad to have you on the channel [Music] man Reno that Reno run you had to take the uh the oxygen didn't you going up the hill we didn't have a pressurized Duke like this had to take the nasal oxygen bottle all right I can see uh there's Hayward right there we'll set up for 28 left which a longer Runway I will get flight recording [Music] ready then we're just going to go straight up hand flowing matter of fact let's do it now put the cams on autopilots coming off I'm going to set a Runway course line of 290 just as a [Music] reference I'm going to flag it out so I know it's not tracking [Music] anything on [Music] downwind below 180 knots so we're stage cold even though we're 26 in there let's go ahead and continue Des send on down looking for500 ft for pattern altitude actually it'd be uh what's it 1,200 we're not in turb so I used to live out in these Hills somewhere Carlos B Boulevard I just remember the road I when I went up to take the beat out of the freezer the wife was like find a haward yeah remember Carlos B Boulevard yeah used to be up there on the hill [Music] somewhere all right approaching our downwind hey where traffic and flight 22 on right down one two way left Heyward I should be on the actual [Music] sea 120 decimal 2 [Music] there we go hey where traffic in flight 202 right down one 2ay left hey work all right recording is [Music] on lights are coming on so I don't have to do this on short final Beacon and recog strobe and nav boost pumps are coming on we don't need any Heats run the prop up we'll do 2800 it's a visual approach [Music] hear that turbo spool [Music] down what is it 175 we below that flaps approach can get a little balloon here use that balloon to counteract the reduction and manifold pressure [Music] I really need to start loading up my track IR for these visual approaches Gear's coming [Music] down slowing to 120 knots [Music] [Music] probably overshot the a little bit yep overshot got to get the track running for visual approaches overshot and low that's all right we'll level off here 500t runways in sight [Music] trying to get on somewhat of a py there there she is two whes two Reds full flaps start slowing down 100 knots as we cross the numbers oh now we got high that's all right that was an ugly approach take the next one ladies and gentlemen welcome to Hayward executive get them up to 1,000 RPM pumps off clean up the flaps mixers coming back couple inches we'll cross the runway here turn the uh air conditioner off we'll go Cabin dump once we clear we will get our lights taxi Landing recog Beacon only nav and taxi Wing is off and let's pop that juice ladies and gentlemen we here oh what a sweet little Duke flight that was I think that was a butter we'll have to see we got two replays to watch we'll watch that one first all right as we're uh coming in here we did clean up the flaps right flaps are clean we'll put pressurization into normal everything oh we're steering off here we'll kill the taxi light kill the uh Avionics F I can't remember if we parked with the cow flaps closed or open we'll open them I can't remember what the procedure was we'll open them for the next guy in case there's someone doing a late night flight I want to say we I want to say we closed them when we shut down generators inverter th000 RPM on both engines I don't know where we're parking I guess we'll just park here there's really no good spot to park burp Ghost Ride the Whip brakes are set magnetos and make sure everything else is off Beacon is off everything looks good let's go ahead and kill the battery switch we here let's unload 15 30 gallons of fuel pretty good fuel plant if you ask me ladies and gentlemen welcome to Hayward California beautiful absolutely beautiful now I don't know if this is going to mess with the only thing I don't like about doing replays is uh probably going to mess with my engines hopefully it won't let's close the doors we're going to leave the engines off turn the battery switch on put the mixtures up and let's watch the replay [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] oh hopefully that didn't damage my engines we duked we chilled indeed I'm going to need you see your license to registration for stop you were all over the road ah I forgot G's again man there are a few really interested they did in beta With the Wind you might like be one you can feel the wind push the nose down on takeoff if you get a big Dow draft that's pretty wild JJ yeah I'm excited for S up day 15 if I ever get to see it oh look at the scratches on the paint there oh my gosh what a view man that is so juice [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we're a little bit low there correcting agent the bat welcome to private P glad to have you on board uh Adama yeah we uh we're aware that you can close both them at the same time I love it I got it been doing it man thank you makes it handy for sure [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I love hearing that turbo spool down oh that is so much juice [Music] hold it off let her settle oh that was a butter chat 100% butter on that one you kidding me let's do a fly by shot here let's do a little fly by here the camera turn this off I think War put five extra PSI on the turbos oh so much juice you should put the V1 logo you put behind the window behind the wing below the wind screen oh wait right here all right let's go ahead and uh pause here we stop that we're going to load the other replay and Santa Barbara now go into the airplane here Sim's going to freak out for a second hang on we'll let her load in mute the sounds you should put the view and Logo behind the wing below the wind screen on the front like on the nose after you K me talking about like up here or like right here [Music] [Applause] I got my captain V1 Sim right there I might move that [Applause] logo I got to figure out how to put this over the door here [Music] [Applause] [Music] and I got to straighten out my [Music] Flags this one was a bumpy Landing when we flew into here we were getting bumped around oh like bomber noseart [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] a skir emoji and impact look at that [Music] though there's eass [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh we're getting good at Landing this thing chat I'm going to smash my next Airbus landing but we're getting good at Landing this one all right skirt skirt I know I love that here let's watch it again oh so good so freaking good man all right that's it y'all enjoy the last replay coming in here Santa barbarra I'm gonna I don't know if we're doing a late night flight if we do a late night flight it's probably just going to because I can't stop Flying this thing and I want to do a late night flight I don't know maybe an hour or two from now everyone will probably be asleep I don't care I just can't stop Flying this airplane I love it so much thank you all for the support again if you haven't already please do hit the like button I think I forgot to mention that today but piston streams never do good on the YouTube algorithms but if it did I would fly piston all the time because I just love flying good piston airplanes in the Sim it's so much fun so if you haven't already hit that like button I appreciate you thank you all for the support thank you for the gifted memberships thank you for the super chats thank you for the donos thank you for being here being a part of the stream dle thank you for staying up late hanging out with us man hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend always a pleasure to see you in chat I know you're loving these Dukes I know you're loving them dle these things smell like do go make damage in a good way y'all take care stay safe stay safe stay healthy until the next one I'm V1 see [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh
