welcome to r slash pro revenge this is a story of someone getting back at someone with pro revenge after being wronged and today's first story is be a jerk about fixing my car hope you and your manager enjoy unemployment thanks to my dumb luck in january 2018 my best friend his girlfriend and i all went out we took my car but i got so drunk my best friend drove us home as we were approaching a roundabout a driver from a side street pulled out in front of us then slammed on their brakes causing my best friend to swerve and hit the concrete median with both driver side tires we parked the car in a parking lot in uber at home next day i had the car towed to my personal mechanics shop insurance guy assesses the damage and my mechanic gets to work he does everything he thought it needed put it on the alignment rack and found out that the engine cradle had been bent in the impact and it needed a new one he didn't have the capability to do this so they sent my car to a different company let's just call it abc repair abc repair outsourced the engine cradle replacement to d weed shop aka ds cargoes takes forever because the first cradle they got was bent so they had to order another one from california dude ordered the wrong parts originally dude gets the cradle in on the day my rental car coverage expires as a single dad i needed my car also this whole time the manager of abc repair shop was not keeping me up to date on any of this was dodging my calls and anytime i did get him he was rude to me so guy bus reared to get it in that day test drove and returned it to abc repair right before closing time where i was waiting to pick it up ds gave it a clean bill of health and handed over the keys here's where root sh begins so the minute i left abc shop that night there was something wrong with the car since i have a bit of auto mechanic experience i assumed it was a wheel bearing next morning i call my insurance adjuster who tells me to take it back to ds and see what's up so i call him up and say hey it's the dude with the engine cradle job uh i think there's something wrong with one of the bearings ds yeah i know about that me uh so why did you give it a clean bill of health ds i was being rushed to return it so i just said it was fine it wasn't critical so what's the big deal me uh okay well this needs fixed are you sure you know exactly what's wrong ds 100 right rear wheel bearing me okay i'll call a gesture and get it approved for repair i have no more rental coverage but i'm going out of town this weekend and i will not need my car thursday through sunday i can drop it off then does that work ds sure no problem see you thursday morning ds orders the bearing with insurance approval and all is well i go in thursday morning to drop off the car and the convo goes roughly as follows me hey there here's the keys now if it's actually not what you think it is or there's more please call me right away i'll call insurance adjuster and get it approved since this is the only time i don't need my car for transporting my child ds no worries i'm positive it's what i think it is but if not i'll call i head out of town have a great weekend no call from ds monday morning comes around and i'm about to head to pick up the car when i get a phone call from my adjuster he tells me he just got off the phone with ds and he was informed that no work was done on my car all weekend i was livid i asked why an insurance adjuster said he didn't know head down there and talk to the guy myself so i did i walked into the shop and ding the bell he walked into the office and said can i help you as if he didn't even know who i was followed is the convo me yeah insurance guy tells me you didn't touch my car what the heck happened yes well it was the right front not right rear bearing like i thought so i couldn't do it work since the right front wasn't approved me but i asked you to call me if it wasn't what you thought it was and you said you would why didn't you call d.s well who's paying for this you or your insurance me that doesn't matter i asked you to call so i could get it approved while i was out of town why didn't you call me d.s i don't have to answer to you it wasn't the approved work i didn't do it end of story me why didn't you call i could have gotten it approved like i said before i left her out of town ds turns around grabs my key off the counter behind him hands them to me and says take your keys take your car i'm done dealing with you i walk out peeved and across the street to his manager's office and asked to talk to the manager on vacation until wednesday i leave my number and ask manager to call me in the meantime i get car to original mechanic who starts bearing repairs on all four tires approved by insurance is a we're sorry for ds shop experience he also noticed that dsd's the wrong strut in my car when he replaced the engine cradle and didn't put the rivets back in the plastic wheel well liner causing the tire to burn a hole through it which insurance approved replacing both with the correct parts manager finally calls me at 4 45 pm on wednesday after being busy doing payroll all day me so do you know anything about why i'm calling you dsm no clue what's going on me begins to explain what happened when i returned from out of town then state the strut was wrong and the liner was ruined dsm interrupts me he couldn't have ruined the liner by replacing the cradle me oh so you do know who i am what actually happened i never mentioned engine cradle replacement dsm we'll all apologize for wasting your time but i don't know what else you want me to do sorry hangs up on me the revenge remember that trip out of town well on my return trip i was bumped off my original flight then bumped from that flight to the one that finally took me home i get on the plane find my seat put in my headphones and start to settle in now mind you i was out of town for a party and i was wearing a themed onesie a gentleman in a business suit sits down next to me i'm naturally an outgoing person so i strike up a conversation me hey there heading to destination for business or pleasure him business me what do you do him i'm the regional vice president for abc repair company my eyes got huge it was destiny so i began to tell him my current experience up to me leaving for out of town the a-hole manager had his shop to the ds jerk they were subletting business to vp was taking notes on my entire story i swear his jaw was on the tray table he was furious he gave me his personal cell and email and told me he'd be having a talk with the manager he also had his company pay for five more days for a rental car since they ordered a used cradle and not a new one which a-hole manager decided he didn't even ask my adjuster or me which wasted five days the next afternoon after i pick up my car and had that experience i got a call from vp he wanted to make sure my car was fixed and that he also found out there were more complaints about his manager who treated me poorly the manager was hiding the complaints and they never reached corporate so he was fired i didn't tell him about my experience that morning with a guy not doing any work on my car while i was gone that peeved him off too he said he would be in touch after i talked to dsm on wednesday i called vp back and told him what happened he said thank you for the information and hung up about a month later i had a question for vp not related to any of this so i called him up and i learned that they stopped giving their work to ds shop and when the owner of ds found out why he fired both ds mechanic and dsm so that's my story hope you all enjoyed moral don't be a d-bag be honest and you won't get bit by karma the second story is don't like homeless people in your fast food restaurant let's send a few hundred so a bit after college i took a part-time volunteer position at a community shelter helping the areas homeless i was a caseworker basically we met with everyone once a week and make sure they're doing what they need to job interviews saving money because the ultimate goal is to get them into their own place my job was to make sure they had everything they needed bus passes help with resumes teach them about bank accounts help them open one once they found a job etc work with local salons to get them free haircuts for work etc really cool local community shelter that wasn't just a place to sleep each night if they got in we helped with everything and had a computer lab and classes etc for resumes and interviews so i'm the point of contact for kind of all of their issues i'm not a therapist but they opened up to me a lot and asked for help or what i could do to help them and that was my job connecting them with people or resources they needed over the course of about a month i keep hearing the local mcdonald's down the road like half a block away is routinely asking people in my caseload to leave not come back they don't need homeless people begging here etc i was pretty shocked and we provide everything it might be the best food but we make sure they eat three solid meals a day it really messes with them for a place to discriminate against them and i definitely wasn't happy i go down to talk to the local manager and sure enough she doesn't want them in there not because they don't buy stuff they definitely do but she just seems to not like homeless people well my position has me reach out to corporations local businesses and such to seek donations of services or goods to help these people so i went ahead and reached out to mcdonald's corporate i outlined what we do gave them numbers and we actually really do manage to help the majority of people that stay in our shelter obtain employment in an apartment told them a lot of people that go out for interviews don't manage to make it back for meal times if they would ever be so willing to help us or something to get these people a meal while they're out it would help a lot mcdonald's corporate and the pr person i began working with really liked this idea and wanted to help us so they sent us a ton of never-expiring coupons they wanted me to provide other shelters information so they could reach out and help there also when i say they sent a lot i mean a few thousand coupons more than we could reasonably use in two to three years and i was told when we need more just shoot them an email or a phone call so what did i do began giving coupons out with bus passes to people going for haircuts interviews work everything i sent more people to that mcdonald's than ever went there before she continued to be fairly rude to everyone and scrutinized the coupons to the point she turned a few away big mistake lady i called my corporate pr contact and told him the program is working great but the local manager is discriminating against the homeless who have a valid coupon one thing large corporations hate is when local managers go on power trips and get in the way of their efforts to help people especially when it's great pr and cost them almost nothing i was called back the next day to be told that no one will be bothered by her again and her views did not align with those of corporate and they apologized even more and guess what sent us out even better coupons for better meals never did hear from anyone i was working with again about her no idea where she went or what the local franchise did with her and the last story is my contractor was cheap so i made sure to get my money's worth so this is actually what happened between my father and the contractor who built his house my childhood home in 2000 my parents and their two young children ages 7 and 5 that's me we're looking to move into a house big enough for a family of four and that they could stay in for a very long time they found a newly constructed street in a quiet neighborhood in a town known for being family friendly it was perfect there were only four available lots so my mother chose the one she liked best now the houses on these lots were still under construction so they were mostly just framing at this point so my parents decided to contact the contractor let's call him alfred and see if they could have any input into the design as they had already set up a mortgage agreement on the property alfred agreed but didn't let them do too much which wasn't all that bad my parents were pretty busy trying to sell their old house anyway a few months go by and the house is finally ready to be moved into my parents are thrilled they finally have their family home we move in and everything's great for about 36 hours on literal day two the furnace in the basement breaks and spews smoke throughout the whole house setting off the smoke detectors the police and fire department show up investigate and tell us that we can return in 72 hours so we stay in a nearby hotel for three days everything is great again until we start noticing a bunch of small details that alfred seem to have overlooked my dad hires a home inspector to look at the house the inspector finds numerous faults that could cost thousands to fix my dad is peeped so my dad being the calm a-hole he is and i love him for it decides to get some help in paying for these repairs to his seven-month-old house you see alfred had been the contractor for four houses on the street of which only one ours had been bought so my dad went to the bank and expressed interest in the other lots he asked that a 1 000 lean be placed on each one this was all legal alfred found out and was rightfully angry he couldn't sell these lots because of the liens he asked my dad to remove them my dad agreed and said he would if alfred paid for the repairs alfred refused to pay so my dad refused to lift the liens alfred then sues my parents my parents counter sue the court rules in favor of my parents my dad had to lift his liens but alfred he had to pay my parents fifty thousand dollars instead of paying two to three k for repairs and a home inspector looked at the other three lots and made him pay for any repairs on them thank you for
