[Music] it is still relatively early morning here in Malaga City and I've come out today to answer some other questions that you guys have dropped me on my social channels now if you didn't know anything about that about a week ago I started to nays on Instagram stories and on YouTube to find out which questions you might have regarding living in Malaga as an expert or digital normal so in this video I'll be talking about amenities about cost of living and adds a whole bunch of other interesting questions so here you go I'm honestly so glad you asked that question because it is one of the main reasons why we decided to go for Malaga instead of Valencia Barcelona another city further north in Spain since I got here last week it has been warm and sunny every single day and it honestly does not feel like winter I would probably not go something I'm gonna bikini right now but it is definitely warm enough to sit outside and read a book in the Sun one of the questions I read is the smog I have beaches well yes Marga does have beaches in fact the City Beach that I'm at right now is only about a 15-minute walk from the historic center and it's supposed to be one of the nicest in all of Spain if not Europe if you go further south or not the coast of Malaga you'll also find some really beautiful long stretch white sand beaches that are less crowded and have clear water than the ones here in the city [Music] [Music] sorry about the music in the background but one of the questions I got from you guys was how the internet speed is in Malaga and I have heard that maybe compared to other additional AMA capitals like Lisbon or Valencia the internet wouldn't be as fast and reliable but I have been surprisingly impressed the internet my apartment in Miami a new apartment is flying it is absolutely solid and uploads YouTube videos no problem here in this cafe it is a public Wi-Fi free Wi-Fi er and it's surprisingly really good as well like I haven't tried to upload any videos but for a normal browser and it's definitely totally fine and that wasn't a question but the coffee is actually speaking of cafes to work from depart from the cafe canoe Bros which translates cafe with books that I was just working from the following two can also be recommended for the cozy atmosphere great coffee and fast internet connection now Bella poeta is a popular breakfast in natural place this actually three of them across the center so you can choose the one closest to you the third cafe up and working from is the glory oil which was conveniently right around the corner from my place the coffee is excellent the internet stable and prices for food are very affordable [Music] talking about affordable pricing brings you to my about a you next question about living in Malaga Spain and that is the cost of living in this city I haven't been here for an entire month but I will probably be looking at about 8 run in euros for the entire month of January and that includes recommendation and daily costs of living my accommodation cost is 350 euros per month and I'm splitting the apartment with Greg so the toll is 700 euros a month for an apartment right in the city centre and including gas and electricity now one thing to add to that it is also offseason so genuine February especially cheap months if you're looking to rent something during the summer like in August or September or even in shoulder seasons like May April October you will definitely be spending more the second type of expenses I have is daily cost of living so that includes groceries food drinks going out with friends and buying anything like laundry detergent but also buying clothes that is speaking for myself because those of you know me know that I'm pretty good or not spending any money so I will probably only end up spending between 250 and 300 euros a month for all of that cost of course reasons made a pretty normal price at least compared to Germany while going out with friends is definitely cheaper especially drinks and restaurants are very affordable and if you go out for dinner with your friends you would probably not end up spending more than about 15 years for an entire meal including a glass of wine or beer if you're looking into staying a long term you might also be interested in looking to buy a place in Spain because I've been told by many people including friends who live here that buying an apartment or a house in Spain is way more affordable than renting at least long-term [Music] there's two answers to this question speaking for myself I did not need a visa at all to come here no will I need a visa to stay here long term all I will have to do as a European citizen is to go to the Spanish Council here in Malaga and to apply for an ear which is a residency card that will then allow me to open a bank account sign contracts and all that lovely stuff all of which would not be possible without Ania now for Greg is a Canadian visa process for living in Spain could become a bit more difficult and we are looking into that right now from what I've read online there is a youth mobility Rize that you can apply for until the age of 35 which allows you to stay in the country for at least one year and you could then possibly apply for a work visa while you're in the country now what exactly happens after that one year expires I'm not sure but it is likely that you have to stay in Spain for a certain period of time up to five years before becoming a permanent resident there might also be the possibility to shorten that process by investing into the country like for example buying a house but I guess we do not know that for sure so I don't want to make any promises here on the channel instead I want to keep you updated so if you're interested in becoming a resident of Spain and want to know more about the visa process and definitely make sure you're subscribed to this channel oh that is the big question but I will try to give you a couple of ideas like I already mentioned there's a bacon pretty nice beach here in Malaga so any activities that would involve the beach like Sun Tanning thang volleyball reading where the beach would definitely be something that you could do when you live here in classic European style there's a large pedestrian area so you could take a stroll through that and get lost in one of the many alleyways and then on top of that the shopping in the inner cities excellent and definitely dangerous if you are on a tight budget [Music] also like most Spanish cities there's a Moorish castle that is situated on a hill and that I suggest you climb up to because the beautiful out there absolutely insane especially during sunset and then last but not least America's surroundings are really attractive so there are two big cities that are very popular here in Spain and those are Granada and Sevilla both of which I still want to visit while I'm here so if you are interested in any more about my gosh surroundings then definitely hit that subscribe button because there will be content coming up from at least one of those two cities one last question that I want to answer is what would be the five factors that would most influence my decision to move to America or not now I think that my requirements to a new potential home are pretty much represented by your questions well first of all you all know that I'm totally a Sun addict so the fact that it's 18 degrees and sunny every single day even in January is definitely a big bonus I definitely love being close to the beach but I also wouldn't mind being close to the mountains in here and Malaga you have a bit of both my future home mates is most likely not going to be in Germany but I would still like to be close enough to my family that I can fly there and about three or four hours Malaga is a very new modern airport and also a great connection to Hamburg not to forget that feeling intrigued by the cultural language of the place are definitely two things that are really really important to me even though I do speak Spanish I would love to improve it and speak it on a regular basis and there's still so much more like both Greg and I need to learn about Spanish culture those were some of new questions that I considered the most relevant for this video and I apologize if I didn't answer all of them but be more than happy to get to them personally if you drop me a line below this video for future Q&A is keep an eye out on my Instagram and my YouTube because that's where I'll be announcing them so you can have your questions answered next time thank you so much for your support have an awesome Sunday and entire week coming up and I'm excited to see in the next video just EDIUS and bye for now [Music]
