after two weeks exploring southern spain i finally made my way to the beautiful city of malaga located on the costa del sol and in this video i'm going to take you with me as i explore this incredible city showing you the top 10 things to see and do in malaga spain vamanos to start off the day i am here in the center of the old town of malaga at the malaga cathedral construction of the cathedral began back in 1528 but even to this day was never finished which gave it its nickname la manquita which translates to the one armed woman and this is supposed to be a really really beautiful cathedral so i'm really excited to go check it out let's go [Music] i really enjoyed walking around the malaga cathedral it is sunday so there was a mass going on and it was just really beautiful a really nice atmosphere and there's some really cool colorful stained glass it was free to enter i'm not quite sure if that's just because it was sunday but something you should definitely check out here in malaga [Music] so pretty much right across the street from the cathedral is parque de malaga or malaga park and it's this beautiful pedestrian walkway with tons of trees different kinds of trees and has a really nice jungle feel to it so let's go walk around and explore [Music] [Music] this park is so peaceful it's just steps away from the old town part of malaga but there's hardly anyone here you can hear all the birds chirping the sun is peeking through the trees and it's just a really really nice place to visit definitely something you should check out here in malaga on the other side of the malaga park is the pompadour museum which is a colorful cube housing 90 pieces of art from the pompadou in paris so if you're into art or just want to see a really cool structure definitely make sure you check out the pompadou museum [Music] after admiring the pompadou museum walk right down the stairs to moye uno which is an open air complex lined with tons of local boutique shops as well as your more traditional cafes restaurants and stores it's also right on the water lined with tons of palm trees so it's a really nice area to go for a little stroll [Music] towards the end of my unu you'll reach malaga beach which is the main beach here in malaga now because it's located in the city center you can expect lots of people and lounge chairs but it's a really nice beach nonetheless with a really beautiful backdrop of the mountains and pretty blue water [Music] if you're short on time or just don't want to travel too far malaga beach is a great option otherwise there's also tons of other beaches for a little more tranquility all around malaga but either way make sure to hit up a beach to enjoy the sun here in costa del sol malaga and on to the next spot [Music] i am super sweaty but i finally made it up here to the gabriel faro castle which is in moorish castle built back in the 14th century and is one of the most iconic places in all of malaga and they have killer views of the city check this out a little fun fact about the castle 2 is that if you visit on sunday after 2 p.m it's free entry otherwise it's something like three and a half euros so you're still not going to break the bank but a nice little tip in case you're here on a sunday it is really beautiful up here now i won't lie it was quite the trek to get up here to the castle but that's what you get with all the beautiful views that it has to offer there is also a bus i believe that will take you up here but the views are always better when you climb on my way down from the gabriel faro castle i'm passing by the alca baza which is an old moorish fortress built back in the 11th century it's supposed to have some amazing views of the city as well and just a really cool fortress to explore so we're going to go hit up that next you get some really nice views from the top of the alcabasa as well and similar to the castle on sunday after 2 pm it is free otherwise you're also looking at like 2 or 3 euros so not too bad but definitely worth the stop and the climb to get up here is nowhere near as bad as the castle so definitely a must do here in malaga right next to the alcasaba you'll find the roman theater which wasn't discovered until 1951 but is believed to be the oldest monument in all of malaga [Music] i've walked back into the center of old town malaga and i've made it to the main shopping street here which is called cai marquez de larios and many people compared this street to saks fifth avenue in new york city they have all those brand names that you can't pronounce and just really don't understand like mango what do they sell like fruit or something [Music] to end your time here in malaga and to round out the top 10 things to do in beautiful malaga spain make your way to one of the city's many rooftops to catch an absolutely spectacular sunset over the city it's the perfect way to unwind and appreciate malaga from a different perspective [Music] what an amazing way to end an amazing day here in malaga that sunset was absolutely incredible malaga has been so good to me well there you have it those are the top 10 things to do here in malaga spain i hope you guys
