hey everybody welcome to another cricket craft tutorial before we get started apparently my cats going to join us yet again for another video before we get started though make sure you subscribe to my channel I put out new videos on Wednesdays and Saturdays hit the bell icon because that will alert you to and I post a new video today we're going to show you guys how to do print and cut tags these are super easy to do and these are awesome for either if you're going to like sell t-shirts you can do care instructions on this cute little tag you can also use these at craft fairs and all sorts of places to put a price tag on your items they're really really great they're super versatile and you can do a lot with them and you can even turn them into like Christmas tags that are maybe personalized for your friends and family let's go over to design space and I'll show you everything you need to do in order to make a tag there's a lot of ways to do your tags but world-- just do kind of a general idea including the logo so well first start in our design space and we're gonna click on upload and what we're gonna do is upload just the logo that we're gonna use so I'll need to go to my downloads and find where I downloaded my logo to cuz we're just gonna use the one from my youtube channel so we're just gonna make a general idea now because it's not an SVG you just want to make sure you choose complex that will make sure that all of your colors stay true just click continue because we're not gonna clean up any of the background because white ink doesn't exist so you don't need to worry about it so make sure that you save it with the left-sided one which is save as print than cuts or I don't know why this is so close there you go save as print then cut so click Save and a lot of times the printing cuts take just a couple minutes longer to save on design space I think a lot of its just based on the fact that it's um a little bit more complex for design space a lot more colors things like that so we're gonna get that loaded in and it's probably gonna be a little too big right now for what I need but we'll just move that to the side and we'll use design space access for this but we could also just use shapes or you can go on Google but let's look at access and all I'm gonna do is just look up a tag shape and we'll search that and I don't know if we're going to find anything that I want to use so we may just use Google because this a lot of times their tag shapes are just boring and I don't like them so let's just go to Google so we'll go to Google and all we're gonna do is just search for a tag shape and we'll go directly write to images and you'll see there's a ton of options but I want to go ahead and we'll use this one right here because this one right here I'll be able to show you a little bit more so what we'll do is right click save image as and I'm just gonna say that as tag shape into my cricket folder get rid of the Google you don't need it anymore go over to upload in design space click upload images browse and we'll go back to our cricket folder and for this I know I remember I call it tag shape so I can just search for tag shape it should come right up now we always tell you to remove all of the white but in this case we're actually not going to do that and I'll show you guys why we just want to remove this outside portion and then right here in the little circle if you remove all of this right here you're going to end up with nothing behind it and just a simple outline and that is not gonna work it's not gonna cut it right and it won't print it right now I will say that this is not the best image you can see all the jaggedy edges so we may end up just going ahead and saying forget it but what you can do is you save it over here as a print then cut it's just a lot easier to do it that way again because white ink doesn't exist you don't have to worry about that too too much so what we'll do now is figure out with my mouse ran off to and insert that image in and we will use this one here and then this will actually combine them so I'm gonna make this a lot smaller and what we're gonna need to do is tell this the logo that it needs to be in front of our tag so you can either right click on it and send to front or over in your layers panel just drag it up so that it's above the tag shape it's just a personal preference thing just depending on how you want to do it so I want this to take up a decent amount of my tag space but I'm gonna leave a little space I'm gonna show you guys especially if you're doing these for like a craft fair you can very easily add a price to this so here's our logo on our tag let's go ahead and add some text let's just do something that is five dollars so nothing crazy so we'll just do five loops and not grab the wrong thing let's hit undo just because I accidentally grabbed the tag and not the five I'm gonna move that off to the side we're gonna just change our font again this is just a quick show you guys how to do it so I'm not you know she worried about what it looks like it's fine and then you can just place you or five dollars wherever you want or your price or whatever you want to put on here a thank you tag if you wanted to tell people like maybe what's in your product but we need to make sure that we change the five dollars down here to cut or to print so select it and up here where it says fill change it to print and what we need to do now is select the entire design and you're gonna attach it and then you're going to flatten it what that does is it makes it all one piece and tells the Cricut that you only want it to cut around the edge and not on each individual item so when we click on make it and I'll resize this because it's kind of big but I will just print it that big it's fine so when it goes to make it you're gonna have the registration marks you're gonna have your tag and when it cuts it you'll see that it's gonna cut around your tag so we'll go ahead and click continue I do need to turn my printer on so I'll do that and I'm gonna show you guys if printing and then I'll show you guys how we're gonna cut it but what we'll do is as soon as my printer turns on because it's a little bit testy if I don't let it turn all the way on and if we're good you click on send to printer and this one is going to have your little option to select your printer so you just want to make sure you select the correct printer you can do multiple copies of this if you wanted to with this one you don't really need to have your bleed on but you can turn it on it's just a matter of personal preference on this one but you can either leave it on or off and then you go ahead and click print so we'll go over to the printer and I'll show you how to do it we're ready to print so we're just gonna load our white cardstock now remember if you are using a Cricut Explorer you can't only print on white if you are using the maker you can use other colors but the lighter the color the better so like really dark colors are very very hard you may not be able to cut on those but we'll go ahead and we're gonna just use white I think that will look really nice and plus with our white logo it'll look better it's all personal preference items so just whatever you guys want to do with your um tag you design them the way you want them but this is just a quick overview just to show you guys how to do it so we're gonna get this cut and they're printed and it's prints really fast if a lot of people ask me especially in the comments but I always tell you guys in every single video this is a canon pixma mg 30 22 prints really nice the colors are bright and there is our tag again I did this really really big I probably should have made it smaller but it's fine let's go over to the Machine and I'll show you guys how to load it so over at your Cricut machine I'm gonna use my blue mat and I'm just gonna load it and with this with a print and cut I was trying to load them as close to the corner as humanly possible it just makes it a little bit easier machine to read your sensor marks so what we'll do now is we're gonna set our material on our [Music] design space so it's just a medium cardstock it's nothing crazy and we're gonna go ahead and what it's gonna do now and I may need to lower the lighting I don't think it's too bright I have the filming light on but it's gonna be our sensor marks so you'll see there's a little light that turns on and then your sensor is like kind of right back there in this big housing and what it does now is it's gonna take and read each side of your sensor mark and once it does that what it will do will come back and it will go ahead and cut assuming that it read like I said sometimes if you are having problems with it reading it's because you either are cutting on the wrong color paper you have too much light in your room or it's just being a pain and your sensors are not working we do have see a lot of people who have sensors that just don't want to read so now what it's gonna do is cut now I know this is like a super jaggedy thing so it's probably gonna cut really jaggedy you can see it's kind of shimmying and shaking so you want to make sure you use a clean pad shape what I used was not but it was just a quick one so it's fine but you'll see that it's kind of cutting jaggedy so we don't really want that but it's fine for now and now it's gonna cut off the whole Center and that's just so you can hang it on something if you wanted to but again super jaggedy so I don't know it's gonna cut in a bunch of weird spots now it's welcome to using a crappy image so now you can just unload it and remove it from your mat and let's just take our tag off and a little centered dot didn't really want to come out that's okay that will just pop it out sometimes it doesn't come out just cuz it likes to hold on so there is your tag again I used a really bad version of it so it didn't cut real great so it's not super clean but this was just to show you guys how to quickly design them so you get the idea they're super easy to do there are a lot of fun and you guys can do a lot with these these make beautifully thank-you tags especially with graduation season coming up they are wonderful for wedding showers for craft shows lots of great different options for these and you can be super creative and pretty much add whatever you want with print and cut which is really nice you can use all kinds of different fonts and logos lots of great ideas if you guys have any questions please let me know in the comments down below I'm always happy to answer those for you make sure you subscribe to my channel I put out new videos all the time hit the bell icon that will alert - when I post a new video have a great day and happy crafting
