good day everybody today we're going to turn this box into a bolt-on box the box measures in at 36 centimeters i think i can fit three rows of bolt on in this one so i'll just divide it into three equal parts my previous box was a taller one so i could fit in two rows but with this one i'll just fit in one row we'll also need some holes for the air vents i'll make them a bit smaller this is a five mil drill that dowels i have are eight mils it's a bit smaller just to stop insects or flies from getting in there we're also gonna afterwards i've got a net that i put over it to help with that as well it's not a big problem in the winter it's more for the summer then we'll need to do the same for the bottom five centimeters from the bottom i'll just make some holes for the air vents i've got some dowels that i've been reusing i find it works a bit better than the wire it's a bit more sturdy and it doesn't flex when you hang the bolt on it next you'll need your heat source i've got a globe socket connected here to a self-made extension i'm not an electrician so i rather not show you how to do that i used to make a hole in the back there and screw it into a little plank at the back i find that removes the plastic there and it's just more place where flies might get in so i'm going to now make a little thing that i can slide in and it's easier to reuse for my little reusable slide modification of the heat source i'm just going to take it to two little planks and screw it in like that here's my new little modification just slide it in underneath now there's a setup all done just slide this in there to the back see now with the sliding in lamp you can just close the lid of the box nicely and it doesn't make an extra hole and it's better to keep the bugs out it's also getting a bit harder and harder to find the light clubs that are not energy saving these are the ones i'm currently using wouldn't go above 60 watts for heat generating as it is in a bit of a concealed space there's a fire hazard the first time i set up a box i always come back after a few hours just fill the top of the box make sure it doesn't feel abnormally hot before i put the meat in it i just spray it out with a little bit of vinegar not too much to affect the integrity of the cardboard just to reduce the chance of having any nasties in there my previous bulldog was bigger i could do two layers these are smaller boxes so i'm just doing them side by side all together there's about four kilograms of raw meat in there so you can easily put two kilograms in each box to prolong the life of your boxers you can cut out some extra cardboard slide them in at the bottom that way will catch the driplets you can also have a reusable plastic tray you put in the bottom once you have it all set up your dowels are cut to size and you have your sliding in lamp it's quite easy to set up another box if it wasn't for recording these i could set up both of them within 10 minutes this is just some muslin cloth i'm putting over the top to help to keep the insects out i'm just keeping the lid closed with some duct tape that was about two kilograms of raw meat that went in there turned out quite nicely if you would like to know how to make bolton i have another video up i'll leave the link here thank you for watching i'm happy to answer any questions in the comments below have a nice day
