Magician REACTS to Eric Chien Chocolate Candy RUBIKS CUBE on AGT 2019

[Music] [Applause] [Music] hello everyone my name is Jason Parker and welcome back to this channel about magic today I'm reacting to Eric chin and his third performance on America's Got Talent 2019 in case you somehow don't know Eric chin is a magician with amazing sleight of hand skills I've already filmed two reactions to his previous two performances on America's Got Talent you'll find the link up here for one of them and I'll put the other links in a pinned comment below in addition at the beginning of this year 2019 he was performing on Asia's Got Talent which he won I also reacted to all of those acts links below oh that's gonna be a lot of links hashtag link fatigue I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore and I'm pretty sure you don't either so I've been told that tonight Eric will be performing his chocolate slash Rubik's Cube routine I've already seen this before on Asia's Got Talent but I'm gonna go ahead and look for what might be different what he might have updated and if you haven't seen it before well then it's totally new now that being said let's go ahead and jump right into the reaction here's a magician who's known for quite a while what he wanted to do but making it happen turned into a really tough challenge here's Eric chin I fell in love with magic when I was in high school because it's praised so much amazement and Wonder and joy for other people I was raised in America but I was born in Taiwan so I had to go back to Taiwan for mandatory military service five years ago we weren't allowed to bring anything which was really hard for me because I was not allowed to bring cards I felt lost I'm stuck without magic you know I felt like my identity was gone one day we were doing laps and I found a coin on the ground and I figured out that I could do magic with it and I realized whenever we had brakes and I could practice with leaves rocks candies rubber bands anything I could find around me so during that time my imagination just grew which has led me to be the magician I am today [Music] already nervously my palms were sweaty right now but I'm also really really excited I wanted to show America that even the smallest things contain the world of magic because I really believe that there's magic everywhere but not like Simon Cowell believes or he really thinks magic is real Julian we're gonna need you for this next performance so Barrett has faced some pretty big obstacle to be here and just after the break he faces his biggest challenge yet he has to impress America to stay in the competition the pressures on we'll be right back up to the break [Applause] no break for us let's continue immediately welcome back to a GT and right now here's our next performance please welcome Eric Jin he'll let you leave that background it's great to be back now do you love chocolate I love chocolate then you're gonna love this I wouldn't do that you know he's been practicing for two weeks with those same chocolates I'm just saying [Music] how's it oh that was really smooth even better than before okay he mix up the cue for me just going to mix it up I show you know what if we just add a little bit more chocolate [Music] and we can use this cute split into two okay just give all of them a quick mix and when you're done just place them back onto the table you take your time I don't have to figure it out make sure it's empty now we're done just put it back on the table [Music] see the first one two more [Music] very nice a very nice idea I just want to say real quick that's something magicians like to do this dice stacking routines they get a cup like that and they get like three or five dice and they'd pick them up one at a time off the table shake them around and then normally they lift it off the table and all five dice are stacked on top of each other some kind of feat of skill kind of like juggling actually anyway that's cool to see that Eric Chen already changed up his routine and this part's new and that's great he had this concept to stack Rubik's cubes like dice what a clever idea although I have to say I just saw him mess up and I'm assuming you saw that too it seemed like there was a little bit of a goof up there and you saw an extra Rubik's Cube for a second that being said it seems like he recovered from it very quickly and just kind of adapted by using the one he was holding already and stacking the other two dice on top Rubik's cubes you know what I mean anyway I'm already pretty happy just to see the fact that he's changed up this routine it's not exactly the same as before let's keep going [Applause] ah [Music] [Applause] that's really cool that's nice [Music] but you have to remember in the very beginning every single cue was simply just made out of chocolates but these are real chocolates too you can see [Music] and of course Thank You julienne thank you everyone [Applause] all right now before we hear what the judges have to say I'm gonna go ahead and give you my thoughts first off what's up with that background that doesn't have anything to do with chocolate or Rubik's cubes and in fact it's kind of giving me nightmares for weeks unless there's something I don't know about owls anyway number two I saw that he changed the ending as well on the Asia's Got Talent version he ended with this kind of colored confetti shooting out of his hands just filling the air and feeling kind of the whole stage and I think a lot of people enjoyed that before I'm not sure why he removed it maybe it had to do something with the requirements of the TV show and the cleaning crew thirdly if I remember correctly on the ages Got Talent performance he had the hosts hold out their hand and then he had the Rubik's Cube made out of candy and destroyed it and the pieces fell onto the guy's hand and he was really amazed to like see and feel it I don't know why Erik didn't do that this time maybe he was a little bit caught up with a small mistake he made or it could be some other practical consideration for the routine fourthly I think we're on fourthly you know how about Erik Chin's new hairstyle looks like he's rocking a new do and it looks pretty cool actually smash like v in general I don't think this routine is as strong as his previous two routines he did the ribbon acts and imagination coins I do enjoy this routine I think it's very creative and very fun but I just feel like the previous two are more strong somehow in this routine we do see Eric Chen performing sleight of hand as well as using some props and apparatus in fact that last thing you did with the Rubik's Cube or he took it and smash them into the table into candy that's a known effect in the magic community you can buy it if you want to so although that one's very visual that last part I guess impresses me the least and again I'm not hating I think overall it's an amazing neck it's very creative and it is my second time seeing it takes a lot of talent to do what he's doing and he combined the whole thing and orchestrated and made it into a storyline will it be enough to get him to the next round I heard Dom chambers also had a pretty strong performance in this very episode in case you didn't know there's only two magicians remaining personally I really hope Eric Chen makes it through to the next round because if I remember correctly on Asia's Got he only performed three acts so that would mean this fourth next performance would have to be something completely brand new and that would be fun for me I'm just thinking about myself anyway let's hear what the judges have to say that was crazy that's and it's amazing your your magic melts in your hands not in your mouth that was truly unique you rose to the occasion I think you even upped it from your last one you know Dom the other magician had a great spectacular Big Show this was very small but close-up you're each in your own lane I think there's room for two you there's only room for seven going on America's Got a vote you deserve it young man from the words of your competition you are literally one of the best magicians in the world and you did not disappoint Eric Chen on this stage you raise the level of this entire competition and you put everybody on notice again Simon well you know what going into tonight if I had to put my money on whether comparing magician to magician whether who was gonna be the best Eric or Dom I would have said Eric but on the night I think Dom actually was better than you on on the night I genuinely do because this to me I'm getting a little bit bored of the close-up magic and as much as I think you have an amazing again technical talent that didn't Wow me I'm afraid sorry okay Juliana you were sitting right there were you bored with the close-up magic did I look bored my I was gasping because I was right there and it was I mean I was eating the chocolate like there's no way I don't know how you did that that was unbelievable and you said to me right before you started well I'm a little nervous you have nothing to be nervous about is it weird to me that I think she's wearing an air pot at first got air pods on my mind okay okay what do you think about what Simon just said about your performance you know last drink the judge cuts Simon told me I have to make it bigger and Dom did make it bigger for him so he took your advice so for me um I think Nick's I'm pretty sure if I if I do make it through I will try to make it bigger for you [Applause] alright now I'll go ahead and give you my closing thoughts so that's too bad that Simon was being tough on Eric at the end there while I understand the concept of making something big for the stage I feel like there's a beauty with this close-up sleight of hand magic and it's certainly not something that I get tired of by the way I'm gonna make a reaction to Dom chambers as well after this one so I'll share a link with you up here once I have that you can watch it too and hopefully both magicians to get to make it through to the next round I don't know I like both of them also I'm not sure about Eric making it big just for Simon because I think at this point like America's voting it's up to the people anyway probably he was just thinking on his feet in the moment it's a live show now by the way and he was just wanting to express that he's actually gonna take Simon's advice and consider it and maybe use it nothing wrong with that oops and now what time is it that's right it's Aesop's fables story time and let's find one a completely at random the boy bathing a story about pedophilia probably not a good joke to be making oh and there's the picture you can see the boy and the pedo I mean the man standing there chapter 64 the boy bathing a boy was bathing in a river and got out of his death and was in great danger of being drowned the man who was passing along a road hard by heard his cries for help and went to the river side and began to scold him for being so careless as to get into deep water but made no attempt to help him Oh sir cried the boy please help me first and scold me afterwards and the moral of the story line is give assistance not advice in a crisis gotta say I agree with that I guess if you want to try to apply this to a more broad type of thing you could say with communication you're speaking with someone and you can see that they're in a big hurry maybe choose your words wisely or save what you've got to say till later like be aware of the urgency that other people can be experiencing have empathy yeah trying to think of it as any a kind of lesson or interpretation from this story mm-hmm maybe some coffee will help nope that didn't help at all maybe if I stare at this picture harder yeah I guess that's it self awareness awareness of others contextual awareness these are all beneficial anyway if you enjoyed the video make sure to smash like if you want to see more magician
