Magic Grandad: Toys - Episode 2 - 1950s

[Music] I told my manager I'm racing my go-kart sitting on a box it's time you used your imagination like I used to when I was your age but in the 1950s just after the Second World War that's him more than 50 years ago yes what's some of my favorite toys Britta brilla Steve Irwin shining far more Morton yeah that's it cool hey you too funky come up for a ride Yeah right come on it could look here Eddie I wanna [Music] why do I always have to loudly did you enjoy the ride yeah dad we're in 1953 why all the houses so small Holy See it's just after the war and people needed houses fast that's why all these houses were quick to build oh hey look the playing cowboys and Indians brilla brill if you use your imagination you can be anything you want I bugs you breed a cowboy whoa duck for cover granddad the Cowboys are coming hi this is Tom and this is Melissa for come this way oh right I'm an Indian it don't take this stay back Cowboys have guns when I say a Tucker well Tucker okay ha ha ha wait for me hi come on speak with a forked tongue you not a man surrender I'm not the enemy I'm the messenger now get off what message do you have speak up the shop lady said come quick she's got a surprise [Music] [Applause] well as of today the 4th of February 1953 sweets are no longer Russia [Applause] what's Russian during the war there wasn't much food so everybody got to share and the call at rationing well today sweet Rushton stopped so everybody could buy as many as the one will make the name yeah I'll help we need two little wheels will we get them from Oh time for a livin up Bluebell there a bit old and rusty but they'll do my sisters [Music] [Music] I'll do the height right no orange I'll do the a duty yellow and I'll do the see in red [Music] I never should say the crispy bass with my mistake I never I've got a cushion for the seat and we'll need some strength for the steering I got some ribbons hold the sweet shop down look great flying behind the cards look we finished the main board what you think it looks great here on the back [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm finished I'm done as well so am i let's take a look at it we might need to make some changes but I doubt it whoa it's brilliant it's amazing colourful James and Katie how are you doing yes well nice to meet you right hello nice to meet you how are you and you you're all right good right right I've got a surprise for you on the back of the car somebody hold that door for me thank you and I've got a present for Katie from America come here uncle a job that grows real hair look Melissa her eyes are so real and she's made of plastic thanks uncle I haven't had a new turn ages right now we got something else here who's gonna help me with this one come around and help me you lot over there come around that side cuz I can hold this so you come around leave the door that's it here it comes right boys gather round I've got the back end open it it's a surprise it's great I bet it goes fast let's race them in the park Tom we erased the champ our race when you pedal car yeah what I was the school jump when I was a kid you know Tom your little kid this is it do won't shut your eyes thanks goodness now you keep your head low and pedal as fast as you can [Music] [Applause] [Music] who's going to be the winner pedal car causes stronger made of metal pasta has four wheels my wife's going to win so don't utilize yay what's it take nearly hot bus food [Music] [Applause] yeah you did Tom billet grille we almost got stuck in the 1950s for ever imagine that mm-hmm I'm quite like building a go-kart wouldn't be too bad I liked it when Katie got her new down from Uncle Tom she had another new toy I ages you see after 1953 all the toy shops in England to start to make lots more toys and soon all the toy shops will follow them then I think Oh am i living in the 50s yeah you could never live without this gameboy and you could never live without your girlie makeup darling time for me to go again I think Oh granddad well there's lots of places in history for me to explore but don't worry if there's something out there that's brother Brown I'll come back and get you by now we ought to go inside and play with the Gameboy and stop arguing what would you have liked the boat living in the 1950s [Music]
