First of all, thank you
so much for being here. Thanks for having me. I've been asking for you. I mean, you've been here
before, but I've been saying, when is he coming back? So what do I call you because
you have many, many names. Yeah. My government name
is Colson Baker. You can call me that. Carson? Colson. Colson. Carson's fine too. All right. Well now you have
another one too. Yeah. I loved your performance on SNL. I loved both performances,
but the second one I loved especially. And I heard that
that's not how you were supposed to perform it. No, no. It had a whole-- like it had all these
lights and production that was going to it. And I kind of got what
I asked for I guess. I was backstage, and I
cleared the room out, and I was just like-- to the universe, please let
me touch people in their homes with raw emotion. I went out there, and
Jaquers as he came out, he was like, he was
like, the last song man, we'll just bring it home. And I was like, yeah, for sure. And I was getting ready to
go, and the production manager came up, and he was like-- yeah, your whole
lighting board crashed, all the production is gone. It's just you and your guitar. And then he just walked away,
and then there were like 3, 2, 1, go. And I was like-- and so for the first like 20
seconds, I could kind of just feel that my nerves were-- because I was just like,
yo, how is this happening? Dress rehearsal,
everything was so good. And then as soon
as the chorus came, all the emotion took
over, and then I think it worked out way better it. Felt like everyone connected
with just the music instead of like-- Absolutely. No the lyrics were beautiful,
and I loved how raw it was. And maybe that gives you
an idea for other songs to be stripped
down like that too, because I like how
much energy you have, and then I loved the second song
because it was so different. Yeah, me too. Thank you so much, and
that was for my dad who passed last year, so like-- I had been waiting
for a cathartic moment for a long time, and it felt
like randomly SNL gave me that, so. Yeah, yeah. Well it reached a lot of people. It definitely touched me. And then at the end of the show,
you and Pete fell off stage. Do you blame him for that? Or do you think that it was you? Absolutely. This is my thing with Pete. This is my thing. He-- you know how
there's method actors? Yes. Pete's like a method
person, so like every time I show up and see him, he
has like a different hair color, a different
body shape and type. So last time I saw him, he
was skinny and tatted like me. This time I saw him, He's
like removing all his tattoos and he's yolked. And he's huge, like
Arnold Schwarzenegger, so I went to like give a--
this is a great show hug. And he's huge, and I was just
toppled over, and fell over. But I've been
following for years. I'm like a-- I professionally hurt myself. But because you loved
it-- there's a photo, let me just show you. This is you, and I think
Megan is in this photo also. And you-- where's, what's
happening, where you going, why? Yeah, this is a
prime example of-- well, I survived this one,
but this is our first date. And that's, yeah. That's hard climbing down off
of a dangerous three story balcony in heels. And why were you doing that? I saw this roof, and I was
like I used to hang out there. I just want you to come and
see my world for a minute. And the door was
locked, so we had to scaffold around like the
balc-- it was very dangerous. And it was your first date? First date. And second date,
what did you do then? Well, she loves nature. She's very in tune
with the Earth, and I'm scared of sharks, so
we went swimming with sharks. Well, we had two
shark experiences. The first shark
experience was the day before where we got in
the water, and I was like, oh I'm actually
comfortable in the water. This is really cool. Like just come in the water. And she got in the water,
and she put her goggles on, and she was like, babe,
there's a shark right there. And before she
finished her sentence, I was already halfway
down the street. I left her in the water. Just leaving her there. Yeah. And then, I'm not
a nature boy yet. And so, then the second
day, we went and then I committed and I
swam with sharks. And when you say
swam with sharks, you were in one of those cages? No. You were free, just like out
in the water with sharks? Like remember when
you were Dory? I do. I was Dory. Like there was nobody
else but me and her. Wow. Where was this? Where did you all do this? In Bora Bora. Wow. Well, if you're going
to get eaten by a shark, that's the place to get eaten. Yeah. Yeah.
