m1000rr or s1000r which one should you buy I'm Manny from M million and let me try to help you answer that question for the purposes of this video we're going to take this as a stock and 1,000 R what is a stock at 1000r it's a $41,000 plus taxes and fees German Superbike that has a carbon fiber body and different geometry for the suspension than this S1000RR thanks to its upper and lower trips rear suspension linkages it has titanium engine internals and a titanium exhaust on the factory and it is the homologation super bike what does that mean they've made this bike to have a platform to go World Super Bike Racing with it and try to Domin World Super Bike and for this purpose of the video try to think of this as a stock 2024 M package S1000RR I know this is a 2020 and it's far from stock but we're going to compare brand new to brand new stock s1000 and m1000rr so what is a 2024 S1000RR with the m package it is a German Superbike that has 205 horsepower it costs $26,000 plus your taxes and fees and it offers all the creature Comforts that you would want and more from a super bike like cruise control heated grips and it will come with an acrich Muffler and every since the debut of the S1000RR it really raised the bar for all the competitors so now let's try to answer the question which one should you buy or let me try to answer the question in this way which one would I buy with my own money so what's different between the s1000r the m1000 first we have the price the m1000 is $41,000 plus your taxes and fees and a top speec S1000RR will be $26,000 on your taxes and fees the next thing that's different is going to be your body work the m1000rr for the 2023 and 2024 model year comes with the distinct different body work which includes your carbon fiber front subframe which gives you that complete different look when you're even riding the bike you could tell that you're not riding an S1000RR anymore because the previous generation that 21 and 22 model year m1000 wrrs looked almost identical to an S1000RR with a different sticker job on it other than the Bodywork the suspension is different on these bikes the S1000RR has electronic suspension on it top spec and it has a different rear linkage setup for the rear suspension the swing arms are exactly the same except the swing arm on this bike is black and the swing arm on an m1000rr will be silver and I want to note BMW calls there's an anodized silver swing arm but I think it's just painted silver swing arm the swing arms are exactly the same the next big thing that's different are the brakes but the top spec S1000RR comes with the exact same front brakes as the m1000rr but the biggest difference will be your underslung rear caliper setup and the quick change rear wheel setup that you get on an m1000rr if you're not racing if you don't need to do a quick pit stop there is no difference or there's no benefit of having that on your motorcycle but then again that can be fitted onto your S1000RR and the next big thing you're probably going to say is the engines are different on these bikes as I went over the specs the 2024 S1000RR is 205 horsepower and the 2024 m1000rr is 205 horsepower the only difference is that the m1000rr has titanium engine internals and it being in homologation bike it's prepped in a way that with a few parts you could gain a lot more power but I'm not talking about some Bolton stuff it's most likely the head gasket when you change on an m1000rr it gives you a lot more power because you change the compression you have to change your tune but then again are you going to change your head gasket on a street bike to gain that much horsepower and if you're after all those gains you're probably going to be able to accomplish similar things for less money with an S1 1000RR and let's get to the final thing that I know that it's an obvious difference as I mentioned in the beginning of the video you got to think of these bikes as stock 2024 model years I know this is not a stock m1000 level L neither is that a 2024 or stock S1000RR but a stock m1000rr comes with a full titanium acrop exhaust system it's not a full race system but it's a full titanium system that is conforming to all the legalities of everything single country in the world whereas the S1000RR comes with just a stainless steel system and its top form will come with an acrop slipon muffler on it and the final differences that I could think between an s1000r m1000rr is your upper and lower triples on an m1000 are completely different yes that fits in the suspension category because it does change the geometry of the motorcycle a little bit whereas the s1000r it doesn't have the fancy upper and lower triples on it and speaking of CNC machine stuff the m1000rr comes standard with these beautiful rear sets by Gillies tooling that's made for BMW motor rod you can get them from giles's tooling and they're quite costly if you want to fit them onto your S1000RR but it is an accessory that you can fit on your motorcycle as well now that I went over the stuff that's tangible let me tell you the differences of the intangible things that these two bikes really have obviously I'm going to say the looks are tangible because we already went over that but one thing that's intangible that when you ride these bikes the m1000rr has a little more crackles and pops but in terms of character to me these bikes are identical when you ride them other than that subtle crackles and Pops that you get from an m1000rr the s1000r also gives you all the excitement that you would get from an m1000rr and I would dare to say an average person riding these two bikes blindfolded not that I would ever let you ride anything blindfolded would not be able to tell the difference of which bike they're riding they almost sound the same they feel the same and they give you the same riding enjoyment that you would get out of these bikes on the road and let me also bring this up and I'm going to say this and I would like anyone to challenge me on this for an average Rider if you take any of these bikes on the track I don't think your lap times are going to be any different on the same type of tires and if you give them to a pro Rider with the same type of Tire it's going to be very track dependent because if you're going to be able to use the arrow benefits of the m1000rr I don't think your laptop is going to be that much more different than an S1000RR because we all know how capable an s1000r on track is as well so which one would I choose using my own money putting aside all the ownership experience that we had with our m1000rr because after after all I'm a real Enthusiast and I really really think BMW has a pretty good offering on the table with an S1000RR is it too obvious yes I would choose the S1000RR I wouldn't choose the fully Decked Out n package S1000RR because as I mentioned that bike is $26,000 plus taxes and fees I would actually go for the Lesser option bike so the base bike with the carbon wheels it only comes in at $22,000 it comes with mechanical suspension because I know that I would rather put the Olin on it it leaves $199,000 in my pocket rather than buying an N 1000r so what can I do with that while full six carbon is going to have a full carbon fiber package to convert your S1000RR into an m100r including that display surround which is your front subframe it's going to be available and I could tell you it's not going to cost anything near the price difference that we're talking about and I'll put ol in suspense ition I'll put at least brakes and run the unders slowing rear caliper setup on it it'll make something that's very enjoyable to have and something that I would be proud of owning and this being said I don't know what you would choose put it in the comments below would you really go on Fork out $41,000 for an m1000rr or would you grab an s1000r and just either write it as it is or trying to personalize it yourself if you like the video please give it a thumbs up if you have any questions or comments leave down below until next time guys have a good one [Music]
