the lord has been with me sometimes i couldn't see him i didn't know he was there i didn't know he was working in my favor but but he was always there for me growing up as a child [Music] my mama my daddy would let me do the things that other fellows were doing i couldn't get away with smoking and drinking it i couldn't hang out past midnight i thought they were mistreating me sometime but but god knew what he was doing he knew what i needed to stay with him even when i went to college i couldn't do like the other fellas they didn't want me to sing gospel i measured in music and they wanted me to sing beethoven and mozart and all that was good i did that but every chance that i got i was up in the room singing for the lost church [Music] i'm thinking for being there i don't know where i'll be without the lord church so many things we've been through i look around at my fellows over 35 years i've been singing ain't got good he's been with us we never had a serious accident on the road ain't got good any good tonight and i'm thinking i'm thinking right now lord thank you jesus for being there [Music] two years ago my mother passed i'm getting better but i can't hardly talk about it sometimes that was the hardest thing for me to deal with but god held my hand he took me through that church he was there for me i didn't have nobody else to lean on by the law [Music] that's why i sing this song he was there for me wherever i go that i've been involved in he's been right there have i got a witness anybody knows that he's been there for you have you have we been there for you come on just leave me here and say lord i thank you lord i thank you thank you i thank you thank you jesus thank you lord oh thank you jesus i thank you all for being there oh thank you lord thank you for being there you've been there for me long wherever [Music] [Applause] there's one other song we want to do for you before we leave many times we go to gospel programs and we find that folks never do an invitational for folks to come to christ it's all about the concert and what kind of moves you got and all that you know and that's good and a little showmanship is good but it's for someone to be brought closer to the lord that's the essence of the whole matter you know that's that's what it's all about [Applause] and tonight we want to give you that chance we're not going to take a lot of time with it we're just going to do a song and you know who you are you don't have to step out you don't have to raise your hands but you know where you stand with the lord huh you know you know where you stand with him [Music] he's there you may be in church for a long time you may have been in church for a long time and still don't know the lord you might been cooking in the kitchen more in the yard nursing singing in the choir preaching in the pulpit for years something still is not right there but you still have time huh you still have time to come to the lord lord i'm them they ran faster saying a lot better than we sang but some of them have since faded out but with your prayers and god's help we've been able to survive and we've been able to accomplish many things so we thank you we just pray that through our songs and through our music someone has been touched and we pray that someone has been led closer to the lord that's really what it's all about so we thank you again god bless you all [Music] and so i had to sing lead in his place that day and i was sitting again yeah yeah i got my back seat stuff the group was organized ah start again okay we signed with air gospel uh we were one of the few we were well that's right okay okay all right we're one of the few groups in the area to be signed with a record uh major record label i was doing all right we signed with air records that's why i got that okay i love music period help me out to all the gospel announcers and our promoters and sponsors we thank all of you and especially uh it's by your help and your prayers and especially god's help that has caused us to be who we are i don't say that [Music] but we're here today because of the support of the support the surprise and we trust that [Music] someone would take someone i always got like extended sentence i like just one little sentence after sort of extending i just want to say thanks especially no matter what satan brought in
