so hello and welcome guys today we are gonna talk about the new lumion 11 pro and we'll try to render a daytime scene normally i'm not a big fan of lumion i still prefer 3ds max for architectural renderings but when it is about large exterior files lumion comes very handy so here i have a [Music] sketchup file which i have downloaded from sketchup warehouse [Music] as you can see this file is quite large and fairly well detailed so at first we have to import this model into lumion so let's start let's open lumion so here you can see the welcome page and we'll directly go to create new and here there are some examples some presets beach environment mountain environment forest environment desert tropical and others but we'll select the plane environment we'll start from the scratch so let's click on it [Music] here you can see there is nothing just grass and skies so we have to import our model so here you can see there is a green button called import click on that then go to the file that you want to import click on that press open and it will show this window and press ok now it will take a little time roughly around 30 seconds to import the model it will it depends on your ram [Music] so our model is here here you can see all my previous models and this is the latest one in the imported models library i'll select it and i will just put it on the origin [Music] here the model is here but there's a little problem the roads aren't showing uh i think because [Music] it went under the plane of the it went under the lumion plane [Music] so what we can do is select the model [Music] and select move up and move it up a little bit [Music] here [Music] now the roads are showing it's okay here we have the 3d model imported into 3d imported into lumion so but first the most important thing is camera control uh it can be hard for the new commerce and i really struggled with the camera control at first still i'm not good at it so it's simple to go to the go to go to front you you can use your mouse you can scroll to go forward and scroll back to go backward that's the basic one scroll front and scroll back and if you want to look around with the mouse click on the right button of the mouse and you can look around with it by clicking the right part of the mouse so now keyboard controls so to go forward you will have to press w it's like a game the controller is like a game if you place wwe go forward also if you press the up arrow button it will go forward w or up arrow button both if you want to go backwards press s or down arrow button [Music] same if you want to go to left you have to press a or left arrow button if you want to go right press d or right arrow button and another thing is when you are moving this with keyboard if you press shift it will the it will make the process faster see pressing shift moves the camera faster so that's it and another thing [Music] if you want to go up press q i didn't know it at first and then if you want to go down you press e and again if you want to speed the processor press shift and q it goes up press shift and he goes down so there's our camera movement i think you get an idea oh another interesting thing is if you are far away and you want to select some area or go to some area just point at the area and double click on the right part of the mouse it will instantly teleport you there that's a cool feature so at first what we have to do is set up the camera not the material i know materials material assignment is important but at first you have to know what kind of scene what kind of angle you want out of your project so we'll go to photo and here you can see there are 10 slots you can store camera here [Music] i will press q to go up [Music] and edit eye level the eye level i like to put it around four because the human eye level is around [Music] five feet so i think this is a good view okay let's store the camera [Music] so the camera is stored if you move around or do anything into if you if you double click on that it will go into the same area so now the material assignment go to build at first we'll have to let's select the grasses to select the glasses put select the material and select the grass and go to various in the material library go to various in various you can find 2d grasses or 3d glasses whatever you like if you like 2d grasses there are lot of options i like to use 3d glasses something like this [Music] or maybe this yeah i remember that i like it so glasses are done let's move to our pavement [Music] please save changes and select the pavement to outdoor stone and select payment as you like i'll check all of [Music] [Music] them i like this one i will stay with this one so the pavement is done let's select the road go to material library outdoor asphalt and i really like this old cracked spelt [Music] i like it i i like to use it so there's a road i can play with the scale a little more [Music] and then the colors of the root crossings to outdoor i will just select cluster [Music] so our road is looking good let's go to the soft paving there are no soft paving materials in lumion i have searched for it i have searched indoor and outdoor i have searched in stone there something like this but no true soft paving so what we have to do is select a material like this and double click it and in the choose color map click it and select an additional texture if if you want to put it see it's there so let's select this post and i will put some kind of outdoor metal to metal and put some rusty metal there that's done [Music] let's go to this pavement and this pavement i think i have seen something like this in stone no i just didn't like [Music] look same whatever this will go and check further this one looks good but [Music] nope [Music] [Music] whatever tiles [Music] yeah i think this styles looks similar so that's our pavement and this part has another material so for this i will go again to the stone [Music] i will choose something like this [Music] so now this plant planter box [Music] choose it go to outdoor concrete and choose the concrete as you like [Music] i think this concrete suits better and then the wooden material would [Music] so we have completed assigning material [Music] to the outside of the building now let's go inside first select the glass i don't like this green tinted glass i'll change it to outdoor glass and this one i like this one slightly blue tinted and for this sign [Music] i will choose something metallic metal aluminium it's okay and i will preserve its original color i i will put the polarization here also here in settings you can make it a little emissive so in the dark it can glow [Music] so let's select the tiles and for indoor tiles go to indoor tiles and now i want something simpler [Music] yeah this one this one looks good so that's it and [Music] i'm really struggling with the camera work here for this indoor wooden floor go to indoor wood and find something dark like this maybe this works for me [Music] oh we forgot to change this texture the gray bricks to outdoor bricks and i think we have a we have something like this here yeah looks good so what we have left is this column like things go to outdoor concrete [Music] yeah nice this mesh outdoor metal uh something dark yeah oh we hope we have also some blue bars here so we'll select that to outdoor wood and choose whatever wood you want to put there we also wouldn't structure here i'll put the same material [Music] here so i think we have finished putting the materials there is one thing though [Music] see you cannot go into the basement because of this plane of grass so we have to make a dent to do that you have to go out of material library go to landscape and choose height in the height you will see raise and lower i will select lower and let's see what happens see the basement area is opening up so that's a nice thing [Music] so let's see how it looks in our photo looks almost the same not much and now we have to put trees and visitations and all the stuffs first i have to fill up these planter boxes so again go to my material i will shorten the grasslands a little bit okay now i will go to content library find detailed nature and select place so here you will find some really nice fine detailed trees i will put them one by one like this [Music] [Music] so you just have to be patient and [Music] put up these trees in right places [Music] [Music] oops [Music] so i think i'm done here also want to plant some [Music] some shrubs here and there this is this one is little big about this one [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] i know this is boring but you have to do it to make the scene beautiful [Music] because plants are beautiful [Music] [Music] so here i have put some plants on the planter boxes there [Music] now we have uh some other planter boxes inside the bill inside the building sorry but uh we didn't change the material we forgot go to various 3d grass that's normal 3d glass and i would like to put some wood there not that maybe this one so we have to again put some sounds big [Music] there's some plants [Music] another interesting thing about this version of lumion is uh it the plants will attach into the landscapes like grass and etc automatically so we have also another space here needs some planting you can just you can just do one thing just put a plant and press alter and sorry press shift and [Music] now you can't do it with the high detail plants [Music] i will show you later so here [Music] putting plants [Music] i think that's enough for the building it will take a very long time to fill up all the planter boxes so now we have some areas where we can put plants so this time i'm gonna select nature and some trees and here you can go to the mass placement just do like this you can reduce the number of trees you want you can increase the number of trees i'll also do it here [Music] [Music] and we have another place here [Music] a different kind of trees choose whatever you like [Music] i think these are perfect amount of please so trees are done for now but i'll not let it stop here because for the reflection of the glasses we need an environment but as you can see the whole environment is empty so we have to put bulk amount of trees around this perimeter to get some reflections try to choose trees with good heights [Music] also these roadsides need some [Music] vegetation [Music] [Music] [Music] okay i think we're done with trees now place some buildings because it looks good go to buildings select some generic apartment buildings and if you press r in the keyboard you can rotate so press and rotate and you don't have to the single placement [Music] yeah put it right there i'll put another one here here and some on the back side [Music] let's see how it looks in the photo [Music] it looks good this building can go a little [Music] right select move horizontal and we can also place some trees here in front of them now let's put some benches for people to sit on outdoor furniture i like this one single placement this are to rotate i didn't want to put it here [Music] move it back [Music] again [Music] r to rotate and press [Music] [Music] so [Music] there are no lights here you have to put some street lights go to lighting choose a street light choose something simple like this one put it in the corner of the street so [Music] i'm putting this randomly because it's a tutorial video i don't have that much time but if you want to be precise you can do it [Music] so these are the street lights now we need some traffic lights and this one looks good put it here [Music] and another one is here okay now we need some cars these trees are empty go to car circuits here transport [Music] select any of the cars just put it there [Music] again you can press r to rotate it will snap at 90 degrees [Music] [Music] and here you have different kind of persevere series [Music] um [Music] i will put another one just another car here [Music] okay you're done with cars or maybe not [Music] i'll put another one here so now let's put some people people and animals [Music] as you have benches at first let's put some people on benches select r2 rotate [Music] oh two guys on with basketball shots and onward suits hanging out together that's really cool this guy is waiting for his office bus don't know and he's busy with his phone we can put some female [Music] [Music] sometimes you have to repeat [Music] there are some sitting areas here also so you can utilize them [Music] [Music] [Music] so we have put some people in the benches now let's put some people on streets this is working [Music] [Music] so let's put people randomly [Music] [Music] let's put some bikers i think there are more bikers there in assorted you can find [Music] guys it's scooters i'll put a few more people around the perimeter of the building [Music] [Music] let's put some traffic cons here outdoor buildings waste utilities and they should traffic consider [Music] yep to me this little variations makes big difference we should put a car which is going or coming out from the basement okay what's next you can put so many things you could put leaves and shrubs i'll put some plants here and then just checking it's not obstructing the view of the [Music] building [Music] okay i think we are done with [Music] the materials you put in here so let's go to camera view again [Music] it looks like this so how to make it better this is the most important part and here's some of us don't know what we're doing so in the custom style go to effects and [Music] first choose all the things that i am choosing choose hyper light go back reflection real skies sun [Music] two-point perspective shadow skylight color correction [Music] and all the other things now either precipitation i'll come back to it later fog [Music] autumn colors i like it exposure [Music] chromatic aberrations [Music] i'm looking for analog color lab color correction of some curves [Music] analog color okay this is our scene now this looks messy of course but we'll make it better now first we have to go to global illumination did you put global denomination i don't think so there's global [Music] elimination [Music] [Music] here global denomination and also hyperlite already okay first [Music] sorry check out all the things that i have chosen global illumination analog color chromatic aberrations exposure autumn colors for precipitations color correction skylight shadow two point perspectives on real skies reflection and hyper light so these are the things i did choose so first we should go through global elimination so the sun amount it should be zero follow-up speed it should be one [Music] and the reduced spots will make it a little like 0.7 and will turn off pva spotlight and gi that's global elimination and analog color lab so we'll put a little style and we'll reduce the amount here the center of color styles chromatic abbreviation [Music] will that's it exposure if you want to make it a little lighter you can spread out autumn colors like this it's my personal choice you may not like it but i like to use it over [Music] fog fog density fog full of [Music] brightness for the color i will choose [Music] [Music] that's it precipitation rain or snow zero uh precipitation phase is okay particle quantity i'll make it zero particle size zero blocked by plants and trees will make it higher blocking distance higher extra fog addition lower and block bias here you can see the changes on the streets right so this [Music] color correction you can change the temperature a little bit and one thing [Music] for skylight which is the brightness hang [Music] render quality and good ultra for shadow i will increase the sun shadow range [Music] coloring will reduce also reduce brightness [Music] omnishadow shadow correction shadow type normal oh you have to turn on the soft shadows and find detail shadows okay now two point percent there's nothing to do here sorry the sun increase the sun brightness and decrease it little skies i will choose [Music] this guy and the heading um [Music] [Music] turn speed reflection on [Music] hyper light this is the right amount i think so [Music] where was the fall yeah we did the fall [Music] we forgot to add another thing that is bloom where is bloom [Music] [Music] here's the bloom and in bloom [Music] we will of course [Music] turn the okay now here the most important thing is [Music] the real sky heading of the sky let's choose another sky [Music] hmm yep that's it somehow it looks better than before i will [Music] strander i'll choose the highest quality and let's see what we can [Music] get [Music] [Music] so guys that's all for today i hope you liked the video as you can see i don't have that much expertise on lumion i struggled a little bit but i think at last the scene came out really nice and i like it i will see you in the next video bye bye
