going on here my name is BJ Carter from Lake Tahoe started building an ultra 4 car about 5 years ago and it uh actually turned into [Music] something Toyota Right Toyota what year what where did this truck come from 89 extended cab was once a two-wheel drive truck brought it home after I crashed a rock crawler in hopes of just doing a quick cab Swap and then ended up basically making a race car out of [Music] it what do we got going on suspension WID with this thing junkyard tons Dana 60 front 14 bolt rear it's got some cool Parts on the axles about 17 in of travel in the front 24 in the rear strapped it [Music] works super tight pack packaging in here it's incredible I think it's shoved way back there you said LS7 have any kind of idea on power it's a Chevy performance crate got it from Chevy performance so whatever the the tag said 505 so sticking with 505 um never put it on a Dyno did do the electric water pump just to push everything to the back a little bit quicker and then return it quite a bit quicker it's got the cool CBR pump for the steering aside from that it's pretty much bone stock yeah just like an 89 Toyota just like an 89 Toyota I don't trust something like that can't help but notice you have a winch in the back I do I have a winch in the back solely because packaging is a nightmare um it wasn't going to work in the front for balancing the car properly throwing another 40 50 lbs in the back made a huge difference yeah hasn't failed me yet oh see a fuel cell what's size fuel cell do you have in this so 32 galon Jazz Jeep fuel cell okay um just running 91 pump gas and again obviously another nice King shock package in the back you mention what kind of travel numbers in the back right around 24 strapped in the back 3.0 bypasses again same package as the front a 16 in the rear instead of a 14 okay um little bit taller bump Phil Liberty Mountain Fab dialed me out with all these and it's been [Music] great thing screams race car inside race cars what's your basic necessities what are your leverage for got my gear shifter here turbo 300 reverse manual valve body okay um Atlas is right here front axle rear axle PL in simple not a lot going on the whole car runs through a switch Pro um it's a holly system but everything runs through the switch Pro keep it nice and simple you got your sunroof up there too got a sunroof yep yep it's it's and it's summertime still at least down here it's summertime so it's it's open I'm stoked to see this thing run today let's go check out your competitor and line you up all right let's do it [Music] this is by far probably one of the nicest things I've ever seen on dirt in my life and this gentleman Mr RJ owns it Mr RJ what what is this uh it's a 1989 Ford Ranger cab it has stock Ford Range uh Ford Ranger frame rail from like the nose to the back of the cab and then the rest is tube chassis so luxury pre-runner is basically what we call him so are am I guessing you go out in this first and then you bring like the big energy after that there you go okay style and comfort then you can just I don't personally do that cuz I don't have the budget to race but it's just for me to have fun in before we get into anything about the truck what does it cost to run something like this from the truck to the race to getting it there well the pre runner is considerably cheaper most pre- runners run on 91 octane so uh it's just costway less to campaign a like a trophy truck for a season the Logistics Fuel like getting everybody down their helicopters all deal helicopters Millions I mean if you're going to be successful if you're going to take it seriously okay I'm best way to make a million racing and start with three that's what they say that's what they say insufficient nothing like this since I worked on f35s so well I think Ken's car had this stuff on it been this close to Ken's car they usually say get away Gary what is the engine setup on this so 460 in big block Chevy okay airflow research heads Chris Rob cam shaft I think we're like 11.8 to1 on the compression makes around 700 horsepower just shy of 700 okay uh turbo 400 transmission it has a Evan Weller rear gear running a 514 and then shock package we got foxes all the way around 2.5S and 3.5 bypasses uh 20 in of front wheel travel 28 in of rear wheel travel we built a couple pre- runners in the past but this was our first build and now we're building quite a few of these so so for people out there they're like man I want to buy this truck from RJ right now what would it cost to buy this our base luxury pre-enter price is 350 and then what does that include so that includes nice interior heat AC engine package any LS engine package you want non-s supercharged okay it's more if we go supercharged would somebody provide the truck or is the truck already Prov yeah that's all we need is a cap okay bring me a 77 F100 Dent side cab we'll make whatever you want to make out of it these are forged race Walkers bead loocks 17in and then this is the original KR BFG tires so this is what the trophy trucks used to run in the '90s okay and they the tractions eh so I said that's an advantage to my competitor most likely oh okay on the I think he's four-wheel drive so yeah is this four-wheel drive two whe two whe Drive yeah two wheel drive oh so can it go four high and all that or just no no just two whe drive you got three speeds turbo 400 so first second [Music] third apparently this truck has a trunk and I was like where the is this trunk now we going to open this and show y'all because this man like like dude you getting $350,000 worth of truck and y'all going to see for for sure for sure push that detent in put some pressure on it there you go there we go there we are bro y'all got to see this this man not playing anybody who has dampers on their Hood EG hatch Subaru knows these things go out I don't know how heavy this is but I tried to pick up one of these tires once and curl it and I almost threw my back out yeah that's good and both of these is holding all how much does this all this weigh I don't remember the total but the wheel and tire combo is 123 lb each okay so 123 basically we have 250 lb right there 248 lb right there so plus the trunk itself so you're probably looking at 300 lb all this back here what is this for so we have a a toolkit right here from boxo tools two Optima batteries tow strap Jack Jack extension you know if we go on long trips I'll put oil bottles or something in here just we have extra oil stupid question I noticed the positives are hooked up but not the negatives why is that they actually are but they're this is a dual terminal battery so you can see down there we got the negative going down to off the Side Learning something new every [Music] day this is nice you got leather leather it it actually looks like leather but it's marine grade vinyl and I did that for a reason okay just to it's more budget friendly but also it just takes the elements a little bit better we do do Alcantara or leather for my clients that they their budget's bigger and they you know they're all about it what would you prefer um I don't know actually building both probably leather if I had the budget it's just smells better and it's awesome it still smells good in here but you know it smell like Forever 21 in here I don't shop there man I've been there many but it's sad that I know what it is then huh gauges comms all that you want to go through that and then you got I noticed you got a nice tablet over there yeah so we have the iPad over here I'm not sure if you can focus on that that's so the passenger can monitor engine functions okay so a lot of times being a big block they're hard to cool down so if I start getting warm the passenger can call out my temp so I kind of know if I need to back off on a trail or not phone mount uh AC vents we got Heat AC here I always use switch Pros for all the switching on all my vehicles they're good good family-owned good company they always take care of me um rugged radio same thing with that company they're amazing with communication so I have carto car communication plus I don't have them in here right now but I have headset so usually we're just wearing headsets so we can listen to music okay and then analog gauges in front of me so from speed Hut so just you know tack Speedo and then all the regular monitor stuff like oil pressure water temp is that a e braake handle yep okay ASD all right all right I me think they're like the first guys in the game back then the OG Hoon handle I think was made by ASD way back in the that is a Brian Scot question oh it all I know is there laying around the office and I'm like well if ain't nobody going to take it it's for me so I just put it in my hence while my cars get done thanks bud Mr RJ thank you for showing us this truck now you got to actually use it all right see what it can do all right all right man I really I really like the Toyota I like the Toyota too but honestly that uh that Ranger got that look I'm going with the ranger yeah I mean I'll probably just go Toyota just because I know everybody else is going to go ranger but the ranger is going to win but I want the Toyota I want the ranger but I'm sorry Ranger can you see that oh yeah toota bro I think my boy RJ is going to
