welcome back as lossless scaling application has received a major update in the form of version 2.7 that helps in reducing UI ghosting in case you don't already know this application is a universal frame generator it works on any GPU whether it's from Intel nvdia or AMD it does not matter this application is built using machine learning it is compatible even with integrated gpus in order to get the best results it is recommended to cap the in-game fps to half of your display's maximum refresh frh rate for example my R LS display supports up to 120 HZ a fresh rate so I'll be capping the in-game fps to 60 the app even works with 30 FPS and 60 HZ refresh rate combination but with this combination graphical artifacts will be easily noticeable basically you want the base fps to be as high as possible to mitigate the frame generation artifacts this is the update lock part of the lsfg has been reworked to detect UI more effectively as a result a significant reduction in UI ghosting and less impact on the main image in case of incorrect detection I have tested the older versions of this application in some games I observed very aggressive ghosting for example Spider-Man remastered and alen Wick part2 I will be testing these games again with this new version fix multi-display option not working fix random freezing when dxgi API is used lossless scaling now requires to be installed through stream no stream running internet connection required you can exit steam keep running lossless scaling application in the background it will still work with your games this application is not free it sells on Steam for around $6 Us in India it's priced at around rupes 345 very affordable I'll show you it settings now this application also includes different upscales from this drop down bar under frame generation select lsfg this is the frame generation component of of this application clip cursor setting enabled draw FPS setting enable it will show us the true FPS count with this application running in the background capture API dxgi unfortunately vrra still does not work properly with this application I did observe some screen tearing around the bottom part of the display when I was testing the games click on the settings Cog here make sure startus administrator setting is enabled this is the hotkey to enable this application control alt and S that's it now in order to use the upscaler I'll just set Rog LS display to 900p CPU boost disable rsr disabled using a 30 W manual profile I have set Thea buffer size to 6 GB my allly is running on BIOS version 337 I'm using the latest table GPU drive from AMD and version 24.2 point1 I'll kick things off with Spider-Man remastered first I'll be R the game with the 30 FPS cap then I'll enable lsfg to double the fps to 60 we'll try to observe the added amount of smoothness and the graphical artifacts I'm using rtss to cap the games fps to 30 there you go Run the game I have installed it on an SD card Samsung Evo plus A2 rated Speed Works very nicely with ro Alliance steam de okay I'll show you the ing game settings 720p resolution not using any in-game upscaler anti set to TA in-game Bing disabled medium preset motion blur strength set to nil after B overlay in the top right corner connected my Cosmic by Stratus Z to Ally via Bluetooth mode addal in [Music] settings free sync enabl vyn enabl Adan antix setting enable rsr disabled all right the game has started there Spider-Man 30 FPS Gap moving the camera around yeah I can observe the sluggishness this is 30 FPS I'll enable lsfg Now using its hotkey it's FPS counter can be seen in the top left corner getting 60 FPS yeah I can observe the added amount of smoothness spidey's character model is not flicking this was happening in the older builds of lossless scanning okay I'm observing having some graphical artifact on the bottom side a screen tearing like effect I'll swing around the city artifacts around the character model has been fixed now with this new [Music] update some tearing can be observed on the bottom side I'll be honest controls are responsive even with the 30 FPS cap okay ugly tearing can be seen it seems the character model is flickering now I'll just remove this 30 FPS Gap open rtss and just type 60 back to the game yeah now we are getting around 100 FPS this is amazing game is running so smoothly no graphical artifacts and just swing around the city at a very fast space observe the bottom side of the display increasing the base FPS definitely reduce the screen tearing like effect on the bottom side game is definitely playable now this update really works helps in reducing UI coasting FPS mostly stays around 100 check out the input response now I'll test the next game buty smooth performance in this game now I'll be running GT4 using dxvk mod basically wcan API in case you don't already know you cannot use FSR 3 and even ammf with wcon API but lsfg works very nicely with this game using the same settings as before it's not recommended to run this game at an FPS higher than 60 it can break some missions but using lsfg we'll be getting around 100 FPS it should not affect the game engine as the base FPS will still be around 60 in game settings 720p resolution High to very high settings in game Bing disabl show the adrenaline settings freeing enable vsync enable antix setting enable there's niik I'm standing right right outside his apartment building so much traffic here perfect for testing we're getting around 60 FPS game is running using vcan API by default this game runs using direct 39 API don't use it game is going to stutter a lot even if you run it on a high end PC now I enable lsfg there's the FPS counter and yeah we are getting around 10 10 FPS okay when I move the camera around quickly I observe a pain brush like effect around ni's character model not easy to observe this it's just that in this video I'm looking for graphical artifacts that's why I'm staring at nik's head I'll be very honest with you guys lsfg is better than amd's ammf driver level frame generation oh no cops are after me time to escape 100 FPS game is running so smoothly take a left [Music] turn it's a very poorly optimized title on PC platform this game was really ahead of its time 120 FPS oh my God GTA 4 interface is not flickering this problem is not present in lsfg we have seen this problem in FSR 3 mods so excellent performance in GTA 4 now I test the next game now I'll be running Mortal Combat 1 won't be using lossless scalings FSR upscaler we'll be using game's own FSR to implementation still useing the 30 WS profile 720p resolution addal lens settings Fe sync enable V Sync enable anti setting enable this game FPS is capped at 60 in game settings 720p resolution I'm using the medium preset I'll enable FSR 2 using its quality preset sharpness level set to 30 start the game all right the fight has started here we are getting around 60 FPS okay Cosmic fight status Inc fight is really very bad for fighting games the d-pad I cannot execute the combos finally now I enable lsfg there you go yeah FPS increased up to 120 look at that animation it's so smooth oh my God got Ki in the face fatal blow it actually runs at 30 FPS so we are getting 60 FPS still animation is smooth oh my God the spike Pi through his skull and we hammered him in the hand KO the top left corner yeah I can observe the added amount of smoothness oh it's running so smoothly 110 FPS definitely working and I'm not observing any graphical artifacts there my boat there was the T subtitles are not flickering I have tested Luke FC's FSR 3 mod in this game observed a lot of graphical artifacts couldn't recommend the mod lsfg works very nicely with it here goes Nathan it's a scripted event it was s oh no I observed some graphical artifacts there ghosting lasted for about a second almost got cut in half so minor graphical artifacts are still present yeah I'm s of the artifacts again comat 10 FPS mostly stay above 100 I'll be testing the next kame cyber Punk 2077 again I'll be using games buil in FSR to implementation 30 W profile and in settings resync enable vyn enable antix setting [Music] enable preset set to medium FSR 2.1 enable using its quality preset scroll down these are the settings that come with medium preset disable motion BL medium to high settings apply 720p resolution Window mode set to full screen weing disable both newm 9 and Luke FC's FSR 3 mods work very nicely in this game I'm standing right outside Visa partment building here FPS is around 50 to 60 night City it's actually the daytime okay I'll enable lsfg now okay I'm seeing a black screen I think I need to change the display mode this can happen sometimes just set the Window mode to window B now enable lsfg yeah it work back to the game and now we're getting around 110 FPS I can observe the added amount of smoothness not observing any screen tearing playing the game in first person mode can't observe any graphical artifacts around the character model plus Point okay I'll engage in combat kill the BS interface is not flickering go for a right switch camera oh my God cops appeared out of nowhere Need to Escape hting around 88 FPS stunning visuals controls are responsive no problem with that hit a [Music] barricade gas bumper is sended properly no flickering going around it youve seen this happening in some FSR 3 mods cops are chasing me on bikes they have a death fish yeah smooth experience in cyber Punk I'll be testing the next game now I'll be running alen W part 2 Epic Games version I have Clos steam it's not running in the background losless scaling application is still running still using the 30 W profile 720p resolution add in settings while and W to free sync enable V Sync enable and Dela setting enable in game settings display mode set to Botts 720p resolution FSR 2 enable using its quality preset weing motion BL and F disable using low to medium settings SS AO enable R Racing disabled of course start the game there's Alan wck he's a writer trapped in another dimension a dark place whatever he writes becomes the reality he's writing a story how to escape from this dark place okay we are getting around 40 5 to 50 FPS now I'll enable lsfg there you go getting around 80 FPS I can observe the added amount of smoothness not observing any graphical artifacts around W's character model this update really fixed this issue in this game this game features dark environments asfg works very nicely with it I engage in combat taken I'll just point my flashlight at [Music] it first the darkness oh my God the shadow charge towards me he has a weapon come on wa is pumped up Shadow is gone 80 to 90 FPS this game runs very nice on ra more Shadows really impressed by the overall performance of lsfg I'm saying this again lsfg works better than amd's ammf which is a driver level implementation of frame generation that's it for the video
