Login Form in MS access Part 1

welcome to triple-a tech Channel in this tutorial I am going to show you how to make lock in form linked to backend database this login application consists of validations permissions and force quit database after three wrong consecutive login attempts and demonstrate you how to make change password form with reveal password feature how splash form displays username opens and closes after 3 seconds dashboard form displays usernames and PC names add user form with permissions and subform allows user having develop to open forum in design mode let's start makin um a success file for secure back-end database rename it log in be e double click to open it click option button to enable security warning select enable the content and then click OK click office button click access options select trust Center and then settings trusted locations click add new location click browse and select the folder location of database here login back-end database is located in documents folder click OK enable subfolders checkbox click OK click OK to close Trust Center click OK to close access options close the database open it again security warning will no longer display click create then click table design type user ID in the field name select Auto number in the data type combo box type user name and leave text data type as it is under general tap replace field size 250 type use a password and leave text data type as it is under general tap replace field size 250 type permission and leave text data type as it is under general tap replace field size 250 select user password again under general tab click input mask button access will ask to save the table save it as TBL underscore user ok click no to bypass primary key confirmation select password as input mask click finish click Save click view button enter new record for use a table in the username type triple-a Tech enter user password for Triple A Tech in permission field type developer as develop a privilege next record type Micah's username type password for Mike in permission field type admin as admin privilege again enter next record type Aaron as username type password for Aaron in permission field type user as user privilege click Save button then close the database back-end database open ms access application click office button click open and then just select log in be e database select arrow next to open button select open exclusive select database tools in menu click encrypt with password button enter both password and verify password click OK close the database reopen to verify whether database is protected or not enter password click okay now it is protected next make a new database file name it log in form open it object type to set view by objects click external data click access select link table option click browse select login be back-end database click open click OK enter password click OK now select table to link to click OK now open database again to view information and close the database let's design the forms click create then design adjust forms width to 6 inches high to four inches of detail section right click on detail section enable header footer sections click on header section change light grey back color click on detail section change dark grey back color click on footer section change same as header section click top left square of the forum change Auto Center property - yes borderstyle property to none record selectors property - no navigation buttons property - no scroll bars property - neither and control Vox property - no other tab change pop-up property day yes and modal property - yes select label control and draw it on header section of the form renamed to triple-a Tech selected again change font to Britannic bold click B for bold a to Center and font size to 36 now go to other tab and change name property to lvl underscore triple-a tech now select combo box draw it on detail section click cancel next select text box control and draw it under combo box select both of them change font size to 16 select both of labels adjust them properly change font color to white select comma box label and rename it user name select text box label and rename it password now select combo box go to other tab rename at CBO user select data tap click row source property button to pull up query builder the show table dialog box select the user table then click OK select and drag user ID to first field select and drag user name to second field close the query builder and click yes to accept changes select format tab change column count property to 2 in column widths property enter 0 semicolon 1 select text box go to other tab rename its name property to txt password now select data tab click input mask button select password mask click finish next select command button control draw under textbox click cancel rename its caption to login select it again go to other tab of property sheet rename it CMD login select cursor hover on property to hyperlink and right click and copy login button paste it select and drag it under login button renamed its caption to change password select it again go to other tab and rename its name property 2 CMD change password rest will be the same now select image control and draw it select image from Drive click OK select command button for exit the form draw it go to other tab rename name property to CMD exit change its curse property to hyperlink and now select format tab change transparent property to yes command button over image control select both of them drag them to top right corner of the forum let's check the form controls click view button first hover over the exit button second pull down combo box to check user names third asterisk should be typed in text box fourth hover over command buttons right click select design view click Save button type frm underscore login and save as box click OK select triple attack label control copy and paste it in detail section change font color to white set font size to 26 rename it login form click view button again to view the form a perfect now right-click select design view click Save to save the form next right-click the login form copy and paste rename it frm underscore splash click OK - form and select design view delete the second label in detail section copy and paste the triple a tack label on detail section change its color to white edit text with word says right-click header section disable header footer sections click yes to ignore warning adjust forms height to 5 inches select all the controls in detail section except triple-a tech label and delete triple attack label copy and paste it on spot drag it to the bottom of the form rename its caption to use a name go to other tab change its name lvl underscore user now select image control and draw it between two labels select image from Drive okay click view to view the form go back to design view click Save to save the form - bored form copy login form again then paste it name it frm underscore dashboard click OK right click dashboard form then design view change second title to dashboard select and delete rest of the controls select and draw label control - poor title rename its caption to database user copy-and-paste current label and paste it to base user paced again drag it under second label select all these labels change font color to white font size to 16 change second labels caption to PC name change third labels caption to PC user select database user label go to other tab rename it LBL underscore user select PC name label rename it lvl underscore PC select PC user label rename it lvl underscore PC user now select command button control draw it on forms detail section cancel rename its captioners add user select it again go to other tab rename it CMD underscore add user change cursor on to hyperlink and copy this command button paste it drag it under adduser command button rename its caption as design mode select it again go to other tab and rename it CMD underscore design mode now click view to view the form rolls on the form it's all set now back to design mode caution click save to save the form for changing the password form copy log in form and paste it rename it to frm underscore password change click OK change form in design view change lock in form label to use a name select it go to other tab and rename it'll be el underscore username now select user name comma box and delete it select and copy password text box paste it drag it above password text box rename labels caption as new password adjusted parallel to its textbox properly you adjust same as above label select second text box go to other tab rename it txt retype lect first text box go to other tab rename it txt new pass here click data tab see if input mask is set already then rename command button caption to show also rename second command button caption to change select show command button go to other tab rename it CMD show pass similarly select change button rename it CMD pass change click view to view the form first if something's in complete check passwords are masks with asterisk in both of text boxes also check with hover over hand on all buttons remove the values then back to design view go to other tab set tab indexes of the text boxes click to view the forum dabbe indexes are set label caption need to be edited click design view add retype word in second text box set all the alignment of the controls you check to view it again and then back to design view finally click to save the form for user form copy and paste the password change form rename it frm underscore user right click use a form then design view Edit label username caption to new user sect it again go to other tab let label name as it is select and delete both of text boxes also delete show command button while form properties selected go to data tab add user table to record source click add existing field button select all fields with Shift key pick and drop on on the form to auto align right click then layout click stacked edges to all of those accordingly for visibility select all labels change color to white select and edit first label caption to user ID edit second label caption to use a name edit third label caption to password leave permission label as it is select all change font size to 14 edit command buttons caption to add user select it again click property sheet click other tab rename it to CMD underscore add user adjust the controls accordingly now select subform ctrl draw it under controls click Next add available fields to selected fields click Next scroll down select none click Next rename subform to frm underscore user sup click finish subforms insertion CMD exit button is disturbed just it accordingly finally click view to view the form perfect bye to design view save the form login form part 2 in the next video
