I flew overnight to Delhi and then on to cut my dairy in the morning I booked a window seat on the Left hoping to get views of the approaching Himalayas I think this is just cloud we circled above Kathmandu waiting for the weather to be clear enough to land for 45 minutes and it was okay another group member arriving earlier had to land at Lucknow in India flying on to Katmandu later like once nice to fund us again we were given a huge coach to take our small group for trekkers six of the seven crew and our food and equipment Bessie's aha we took four-wheel drive cars to jagat following the route of the unup on a circuit which we would also follow for the first two days of walking [Applause] buddy [Music] hey didi Tina [Applause] after three days of air and road trouble you finally be here [Music] [Music] this is where the end of the man asthma circuit joins the start of the annapurna circuit you you were told the roadies of Manaslu looking back I think what we saw were just minor peaks northwest of mine asthma [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] tomorrow we would be turning off the uh Epona circuit in the afternoon I walk 25 minutes further to the next town along chummy [Music] [Applause] [Applause] you you you we had three different permits for this route one for the other corner Conservation Area the second the new area and the third for the Mustang area [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] and you can do this yeah we don't like it we go in the loge [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] you oh yeah it's still on the you stir [Music] estimated time from here huh right around oh yeah around that cutout fifteen to twenty minutes I will suffer a lot of tracking groups dying it now we're told that the only campsite is full so they booked us into a tea house [Music] [Music] we would descend this slope and continue up the valley two days later one of our group was feeling unwell possibly from the altitude today was a rest into climatization day in the morning we took the trail towards kang la for about an hour then we returned via the villages oldest monastery [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] you during the morning with the group I noticed you read the top of the cliff above the village so after that [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] after a tough day crew greeted us with hot orange drink and noodle soup overnight it dropped to minus 2 degrees C in my tent [Applause] the person with altitude sickness recovered during a rest area now but my lunch time today was unable to continue you were several days of tough walking from the nearest Chitra group need Accord a rescue helicopter on the satellite phone and stayed with him all the rest of us had to keep walking with the assist the helicopter for the sick person didn't come yesterday he had to struggle on to camp late in the day today he waited again with the group leader while the rest of us went on everyone on the trip was required to have insurance to pay for emergency rescue [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] I lost count of how many times we had to hit across this stream on stepping stones there are a few flakes of snow as we need come overnight the temperature dropped to minus 7 degrees C in winter overnight the mule man left saddles on the meals to keep them warm apparently they weren't keen on this and they had the ropes holding the saddles on in an earlier day one of the mules at the bar of soap from our hand wash cookie there were several extra means carrying a very nice-looking food feeling [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Wow gelinda we took trekking poles and instep crampons encasing as snow in the past but for us it was dry my camera DPS put the pass at five thousand four hundred and twenty meters other references including the map put it as much as five thousand five hundred and ninety five meters [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] shortly after arriving we were told that a new landslide had made our route for the next day impossible the guides would scout ahead for an alternative you [Applause] [Applause] the crew had worked out a new route climbing higher than previously planned to get around the new landslide this ago [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] we camped in the grounds of a teahouse with a solar heated shower today was a rest day in the morning I explored the village and downstream from it you [Applause] [Music] you [Music] [Music] in the afternoon I followed the jeep trail upstream I never really got the hang of this rest day concept [Applause] I tried to get to the source of the river later I worked out that this was just a small tributary the tanguay Cola continues for several kilometers more you [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] amazing [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] yeah the land of yellows everybody said going a little moving down ah [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] we camped in the grounds of a teahouse again [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] a final night of camping was again in the garden of the tea house just outside the city walls he would be continuing mostly by car so he said goodbye to our mule handler he set off to meet up with his next clients we had only two hours the next day to see the city so I went to have an initial look today the royal palace was damaged in the 2015 earthquake repairs were still incomplete [Applause] so-called low caste people live outside the walls below the city [Applause] that is how my family soft keys and does he live there at all Tom do the car yeah we had a $10 guided tour of three monasteries Photography was banned inside the building so these exterior shots are all that I can show you [Applause] survives vegetation we left 19 minutes late because the car wouldn't start in the cold weather [Music] yes just over 4,000 warning he pulled over behind some parked cars and the driver and crew vanished eventually it turned out the car had broken down looking too narrow tracking both directions here what's up we stopped again we were 10 minutes drive from the town people in many of the cars in front started walking the car had got stuck trying to drive over a big rock got some snow and ice [Music] you you we had a final short walk in the morning one group member asked to go in the car [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] my bad shook son by mountains I'll say you can't swim can you oh yeah okay thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] you my second flight was delayed 90 minutes apparently Katmandu his priority two flights to look like which can only go in clear weather when you hear lines to fill the bottle captain and Islam [Music] good morning ladies and gentlemen on behalf of EOT Airlines captain and gilsu and the entire remember who love to open up Andy after lunch I spent the afternoon looking around shops in Tamil worsen camera baptists recharge this was a free day which could have been used to get back to Kathmandu if there had been problems with our mountain flights the day before rather than visit tourist sites that I'd seen before we decided to walk
