now in 1965 liza minnelli won a Tony for flora the Red Menace in 1972 she won an Oscar for the movie cabaret which was of course two years earlier musical for the Broadway stage which won a Tony not just hold on now in nineteen in 1973 she had the nerve to win an Emmy for her performance in Liza with a Z this girl is very good if you dig Talent now tonight she is a Tony nominee for her electrifying performance in the act here's why [Applause] maybe sat on the porch of the farmhouse the little old lady rocks back and forth and crossfade the crickets look at the rooster smell the hay and see the pretty little egg at the hen just play the little old lady took off her glasses and squinted how she responded literally had me floor she said it's nice to meet some who appreciates the beauty that nature UNMISS yes it's sweet to hear but be mine [Music] [Applause] I [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] b-baby bride [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] colles peach preserves oh please my nerves [Music] skies [Music] [Applause] [Music] I can't see [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] take [Music] [Applause] [Applause] I first acted in the live theater the University of Chicago after a number of years I got to New York and finally had the pleasure of appearing on Broadway with Jack Lemmon and face of a hero it's a lot of Shakespeare I don't suppose you could ever do enough though unfortunately most people have never had the chance to hear me sing which is why they chose me to present the award for the most outstanding performance by an actress in a musical Madeline Kahn on the twentieth century [Music] into [Applause] paisan [Music] Sternhagen [Music] joe-joe well the winner is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh my nerves thank you so much I think the thing that I like to do most in my life is to work and to work hard and I think the thing that I like second best is when somebody said you you did a good job so thank you I'd like to thank everybody connected with our show they know who they are Thanks [Music]
