Living In San Juan del Sur Nicaragua - 90+ Countries With 3 Kids

they just couldn't get rid of us here we had to stay won one more method [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] we love it here so much that we've been looking for the last little while to see where we can maybe stay for the next month and we found the best place so we are at a place it's literally walking distance from Sun windows so you're in the village and you can like literally walk up you walk up quite a bit some stairs and we're here at a place called Pelican eyes and it's just beautiful they have these amazing villas to rent and the girls are so happy because well you'll see why right now so tell me Chloe why do you like it so much already well like I like beautiful as men this is I like the whole layout let's go for a tour and see so so we've got this beautiful sitting area kitchen and full set up a living room we're gonna have the most amazing sunsets yeah oh my gosh this is where we're gonna sleep here look at that the sun's starting to go down there in a distance of my mind and I like the shower the bathroom Austin really nice I'll just show you one more thing up steps when I'm most excited for is to upload and to folium almost has it been a while but you've been living in a suitcase yeah I mean even if you stay a place a week and it's dependent they don't really have like closets or stuff yeah bestir very open to like those windows are they right open hey your most favorite thing mister my favorite things oh my goodness so this is just amazing look at that Wow Chloe are you in paradise mm-hmm this is what I really like this is for me like a piece of art you see this the sinks are just beautiful that gorgeous look your tooth out so when I woke up this morning I was a little bit disoriented because you kind of wake up you're like wait where am i and we're staying here for a while and you know just kind of get confused a little and I'm just about to go outside and read a little and anomalies there cruise ship but now there's a rainbow it's really pretty lookit see it there in the distance yeah looks like it's fading away oh it is fading away down all right so we've been here now two weeks and if you can imagine we've not gone to like the real real grocery store for a real grocery so it's our very first day we've managed to just do the little kind of mom-and-pop shops and stuff like that and it's been like make do right because they have more or less everything but right now we're gonna do one just like you have it a real shopping we're doing like the real thing so we're gonna go buy everything that we need you know like mayonnaise and ketchup and everything so apparently it's not like a big grocery stores if you want to like a big groceries people go over towards rivas which is about 30 kilometers away or they go all the way to Managua Simon egg ladders yeah they pull into their Costco Walmart so yeah so he's just in an event up there so it's about eight to ten minutes walk really not that far maybe even less from the city center charvel grocery store [Music] okay so we're gonna do American style we're gonna grab two feet carts stock up all right [Music] the Christmas stuff we should do Christmas so girls how did we make out are you missing a lot of that maple syrup we're gonna do some baking though right so we just came back home from shopping and I was gonna show you everything that we got and do a little bit of a price comparison or at least share with you the pricing so here is what we bought so got lots of stuff 12-pack of beer we got some coca-cola Canada Dry some oatmeal bread flour we got a couple pineapples lettuce cheese tomato not tomato ketchup so milk I steep some vegetables soups pastas here we go we've got lots of spices here popcorn some tuna bananas mayonnaise here of slit bait belittles so we're gonna have some of this like they do this is some beans some oranges we've got a big thing of water lots of Twitter paper and eggs cleaning products dish towel so there you go quite a bit and so just to share some of the pricing we also got ice cream and a whole big pack of ice cubes just for all of it all of this food here was $150 so not bad so there you have it now we're gonna do some baking and cooking and we got our Kiwi Z friends coming up for dinner so it's gonna be a good night what are we doing today Chloe going to the swimming pool really nice cuz they have three pools I can get used to this weather here because it's always warm always sunny well we're not in the rainy season that's why but you don't have heaters in the houses which is amazing yeah that means you never get to that cold so no always nice temperature yeah so we can swim in this pool but I think we're going to go down to one pool down below and this is their second pool they actually have three pools here so lots of options to swim [Music] so in case you guys are wondering what we're doing today yeah well it's another beach day but today is a specialist when I arrived at the beach look what I saw I can medium flag so this can literally been a Canadian beach day more than just the steaming flavor so the reason why it's so special is because there's actually two other families here from Canada different Montreal so one of them has three little boys one of them is Chloe's age and the other one they have two little kids and they're both staying here for a couple months so this is really fun we shall criss cross paths again this is got a bird on his bike [Music] well today is another day in paradise I'm just walking down the hill here look at my view the girls went to the beach for another day of surfing and sunshine I got some work done and I'm gonna go into town right now I'm gonna go to the cafe and just get some more work done and then I'm going to go out and join them so really hard life to get used to but it's so nice I don't think I'm ever ever gonna want to leave I'm just loving it so much and like I said yesterday we met these amazing families to Canadian families and it just seems like the people that we're meeting here are all kind of I don't know if it's like adventurous but it's like the kind of people that are out of the norm and so they're all like really unique in the style of what they do for work and what they're you know why they're here and everything like that and honestly guys if you come to San Juan de su you might just get sucked in as we have because a lot of people come for like a couple days a couple of weeks whatever and then next thing you know two three four months later they're still here they load a lot of the stories that I'm hearing and what else so the the Kyuubi friends that we have they're flying out from San Jose in Costa Rica and they keep extending their stay too so it's just so much fun the kids are having a blast and who divita here in Nicaragua [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] well it's quite fun to go in the shops and trying to find everything you need because you go into like they're all these little mom-and-pop shops and they all have like different things it's like a you go here for this they're for that string in this place singing supplies in that place so it's really fun we're finding everything we need on this one little streak so this morning we're running some errands and going to find some stuff that we need and it's really cool because to me found like all the things we need on just one little string yeah and it's like all these opportunity like fish fowl so we're just down in the village and it's around 8:30 in the morning if there's music oh my god looks like you like there's another festivity but we're not quite sure [Music] so we had this lady come over and she helped cooked she cooked something and she cooked like banana pancake kind of thing with cheese stuff and mice it's really good thank you I just want to share with you guys if you're coming and you want to go to treat Casa this is where you take the shuttle so this is the little Hut there it's right beside the restaurant that's called a day press so during the day or during the night I mean this is actually shut with the gates so you might not recognize it if you see over there dolly quests the restaurant it's right beside W West when here we go off in a way for another day [Music] but I think they're gonna make it train and all [Music] a little boyfriend [Music] here they come all together hopefully this end doesn't end up in a bunch of cries [Music] the girls good girl some boys please same girls what are you eating uh it's uh it's explains why are we here again on a Wednesday is this like a routine now what do we do on Wednesdays in Sun one yummy pink [Music] [Applause] [Music] so you know you're starting to feel it home when you actually babysit other kids in the different countries so that's what we're doing today unknown to me rather organize these guys to come over so I got that and like the moms like okay what's the house you're staying at we're being the kids I'm like but but up here they're really cute problem is we don't have many toys and toys that works waste their crema stone yet and check what's your brother's name you go happy to babysit Chloe Chloe and the little ones are having fun playing with the water here's what the fish market looks like down here and fun and if you want to come it's a good idea to come to the ones at the end versus when you first drive in there's other ones but apparently these ones are the local pricing so this way looks like [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] what we just found here this is I don't what you call a heavy-duty RV that can go through anything from Germany looks like a military like machine so another day here at romanzo Beach and we're about to go take the surfboards oh yeah we're doing an official surf lesson look at this wait I gotta show you what is ready can you show me your shirt now they've got the Canadian flag there he's got a shirt good guy to come take surfing lessons with when you come [Music] so today Raja leaks on her way down the stairs but we are doing something super special what are we doing we are going horseback riding we are gonna go horseback riding so we're not sure I was reading online some of the different things that you can do and sometimes you can go all the way to the beach I'm not sure if we're gonna do that to her or if we're just gonna do a smaller tour since it did say online that you have to be 18 and up to do the beach tour but we will see and where we're going it's called Rancho cheetah math day so the Chilam I play ranch and let's go on our tour you guys excited yeah yeah super excited love horse background are you excited she says she has to yeah we love it don't we there we go so the nice thing is is it's always beautiful right now Ashley can son fun yeah you always need a hat but it's gonna be four it's gonna make for a very hot horseback ride won't it yes we have their jeans and closed toed shoes so we're gonna hopefully we can try and then that way we won't feel a heat so much it's nice we're going right now like sunset ish just before sunset so we're gonna have the most amazing sunset the most amazing views because it's so chilly everywhere you go here and just an overall really cool experience even though we're hot we can always end it with a jump Lapua laughter right behind us there's a funeral going on and it's almost like a real parade so they're coming with the vehicle I would stay in film it but we got a ghost we're already a couple minutes late we're getting all cowboyed up here's their dressing room they have choices of jeans so you can put on boots you can put on even like these shirts or hats and bandanas so we're gonna look like these cowgirls here and out for a good time [Music] [Music] you when I wear trouble in sight beating hearts don't lie and then they page a story to rise love your device and it's all in we're going away [Music] your thoughts so far girls about your experience here this may be such a cool experience so we are gonna go all the way down to the water we feel really done up because we are like cowgirls here on our horses [Music] so this is the one beach we have not been to yet called by a Yankee apparently also a beautiful one and that's very good [Music] [Music] this is the most amazing experience definitely a bucket list thing to check off I wasn't Chloe treading treading on the ocean so today is Friday and we're doing something a little different because we met a guy here in Nicaragua who's actually from the Netherlands and him and his wife have created an organization to help children with disabilities here in Nicaragua because unlike certain countries they don't really have much help so we don't know what it's about yet or what what they do exactly but that's what we're on our way to go do so let's go check out their organization [Applause] [Music] we make products here like we got a non-profit Bank where your teacher and for the space and for all the expenses so then like 1% of like the money we make from the home selling the price goes back to the families oh they actually like make a little bit of money like and what kind of products are you making so we have here like these are like the mana cost for like the coasters and then we got bigger one in placements and then mallow and milky are working on some bags so that's like beach bags and shopping bags and what we try to do is like with the bags like this is like just a original back and this is just like for example like this is a rice bag yeah and what we want to do is like upcycle the bags because normally this goes through the supermarket and they just like throw them in big portions and then they just throw them away or they just use it like as a as a garbage bag and what we try to do is like get like the ones with with my air quality and then just sew them into like a shopping bag really for example like when I started and I went like into the to thousands of the families they always referred to it not as a disability but like as an illness like they are sick yeah and I was like well what do you do with the sick person to take care of it so let's see a lot before they came here is where they were just like okay things take a chair here's the remote watch some television tell me when you're hungry or thirsty and like it was your own development there was no it was like they were sick and they needed to be bad or whatever and now slowly like very slowly we try to also take what we do here and take it all through the houses it was not for me to go to the families and tell them you know like well use them like they're not sick they that might have disability but there's so much that they still can do and their self-esteem and their character telling it like I just wanted to or show it yeah we like our vision here the bastion do you have a background in this yeah yeah yeah I got my like special needs and yeah so yeah this is your profession essentially yeah yeah just what I what I used to do in Holland it wasn't like this with this rope it was more like it April problems but yeah when I started here I and what is the name of the organization here so the nonprofit is called Casa antiphon and this is the monster yes okay say it again louder in twittering gasps I jumped uh was it like a tire house foundation Casa alpha and program was called mana samito which means like highly happy United yeah yeah so this for example is suffering down those so then you have a card of who the artist was to create it and develop it that's really nice yeah exactly so this is but no no say you gotta just prove that the artist is still here [Music] [Music] so basically Bastian comes every single day here to the library in San Juan and he meets with the kids with disability and helps them to not just exist in life but to actually feel productive and contribute and they do even more so because now Nicaragua wants to going through a little bit of a hard time with what's happening politically a lot of the parents have been out of work and such because they heavily rely on tourism and so now these kids that are making you know this jewelry beautiful bracelet and bag these beautiful bags so we just bought one like this like this they're actually able to provide for the family and they're the ones now that are providing if you can imagine for some of the families so the kids feel like they're contributing they're part of society and they're not just kind of tucked away so there's a really good experience did you guys enjoy it yeah yeah it's nice to learn and see what people can do and it's nice to have people come in and and change people's lives with that so it's really cool is this beautiful place up here near romance Oh Beach and it's a couple it's an Irish restaurant but it's a couple actually from Poland who are gonna do all the cooking so we are so excited there's a whole group of us and here we go see there's the lowest median another Canadian another Canadian [Applause] [Music] [Music] nobody wants to go in the car everybody wants to go in the truck [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we had adopted grandparents in certain African countries and now in Central America we have an adopted son yeah so how many sleepovers have you had Trevor I made sleepovers have you had tonight support for things look forth and we did karaoke together and just down together kind of dancing where we doing guys Chloe came down in her bathing suit she forgot that we were for some reason so I think we might just like kidnap him for about a month yeah B and travel around with somebody hey you up for it we're getting mirror and the first day here at least in Sunday's favorite cafe [Music] from a friend of mine who saw you just the other day oh I guess that you were back in town it's been a long time since you've been around remember when we used to make the streets unsafe together baby bear we were young and foolish there oh how I wish we could go back again I've decided spins along baby reaching lap did such a heart for
