hi and welcome to our Channel we are foodies we would like to welcome you to Granada Nicaragua palace [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] there were at the bus station this is how it works it's 8800 felonious to go to the border and I know the conversion that's about three US dollars each and it's about one hour bus ride to go he's not Chloe or way can't see it but Chloe is literally dripping so my it's really hot here but thankfully the guy from Adobe he drove us all the way to the bus station so that was super super sweet we would have had to walk only three or four blocks but still in this heat and humidity it just saved us right yeah [Music] when you get to the border of Costa Rica and Nicaragua you have to go in and pay a fee for seven dollars to exit the country but the machine over there is seven US per person and the machine doesn't work there's it's around the corner and they charge you a dollar feet to Christmas so it wasn't too long but it takes a lot of time because by the time you do the paperwork on the other side pay for your exit fee then you come in you pay a Minnesota tax of one dollar per person to enter Nicaragua and then you pay fifteen US dollars for a visa from Hersman then you go through a scanner and it takes just a little bit of time by the time to stamp it off and so now we're going to go figure out the best route to get to for another again god I'm praying I'm not so we're on the best this is like music and the way it works is you actually put your luggage up like this so you keep your luggage with you don't put it under me for the best and originally you're trying to charge us $10 each I really like that sounds too much my guys like no dude for ten bucks left your ID directly in my taxi so it's five dollars [Music] I cannot at the end they put all our sicknesses up the back of the meal from the bars shall I get out they're gonna play him [Music] journey I cannot go [Music] we are all so hot from this but started to go swimming yes let's take you on a quick tour to to show you what it's like here come on take me on a tour Chloe should we go discover it we have lots of lounge areas a really nice beautiful pool they keep them all kind of the same so like everyone has like this wanted a truck or something they'll have kind of like a movie feeder or library so it's nice but then they'll have a little unique taste to it like they touched it we're going to go discover it what's really nice is that as soon as you walk outside you're literally in the main square is so pretty and beautiful the cute little trick it's an actual functioning right now Kevin really it's like a motorcycle [Music] like swimming in the right hand jump it yeah [Applause] [Music] [Music] hey what do you think of it even like it no that's me yeah you have me there's plantains in there the cool slide tastes like pickles this like it's a moldy cheese time for some breakfast I can already hear the music [Music] all day we went to bed they were having a party last night see Saturday night and that is Clayton loud and noisy so just FYI if you're coming here with kids and your kids don't sleep through music maybe not a good idea for a Saturday night I don't think it's like that every night but we fell asleep though we were so exhausted we have no problem falling asleep whatsoever thankfully she fell right asleep music good stop yeah like I think it stopped at three that's what woke me up this one music stuff but we woke up this nice new music playing this is what we're seeing [Music] just going on a little tour this morning to go discover the city of Granada and see if we can find some fruit and vegetables maybe or some things and then we're gonna go on a boat tour so this is gonna be a really fun day [Music] I'm the best rate yeah that one that was the one you guys here's watching this video like when in English like what do you do so huh huh we're the only tourists here I think one of the only tourists you don't see many people walking around like we do so we stuck out like a sore thumb yesterday Daisy the bus is a little crazy quick come on it's just like you squished in there and then but she would say go ahead and you just hop on a train so bad they were like putting things on the back of the bus and then they would jump on and the bus is already moving that's like it's crazy right a lot of churches here and we found another baby we need one of those I love other buildings those are all different colors and very beautiful with European roots you like that all different colors yeah later so we're giving towards the lake [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] another puppy oh look at this one oh he's jumping on you you could just push him down if he jumps up to here oh my goodness he has a broken leg so we don't really know what the tour's all about so far it's just us and the southern couple from Nicaragua and we're here at this place and they've got these dogs and they're really nice kind of lounge area a boat with the slide check it out this is that's really just fig it's not clear look it maybe this is merchants boat somebody stopped us on the street this morning and said there's a really cool boat double decker at the site that is so cool this is gonna be so much fun so this guy literally stopped us on the street today and said hey there's this guy named Martin he has a tour boat and blah blah blah you should go on it he goes every day and has a slide he's like we're retired but we still go down the slide too you think we're gonna have fun I think so too oh my gosh this is amazing so shucks we're not taking merchants boat but that is Martin's boat next to our to us so if you're here this is a good one to take this is the one we're taking those so it's still gonna be fun it's like a party boat looks like this I'm gonna have to ask around because the guy is totally Nivas this time here is Martin's about the lake is massive you come in from the Caribbean Sea they make their way in but they are harmless and there than that there's no crocodiles in the lake so safe to go for a swim and the lake is about eight thousand square meters hopefully I am correct that's what someone just told me you enjoying your rest Chloe [Music] [Music] now the merchants boats ever going over to go down just slide here we go I'm getting it right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] we just [Music] so this is day three for us here in Granada and like each Selena they have a co-working space and so the girls and I we're getting some much-needed work done here today this morning before we head up to do anything else it's gonna be a relaxing day we're gonna get some laundry done maybe go to the grocery store make a kind of cooked meal okay you still have a cake for the birthday girls so we decided to come back here because we really liked it so you pay a little fee but then you can go swimming this like this wrap around black tubes you can go canoeing this pool this ping pong there's a bunch of fun games to play [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and I mean I'm letting you paddle and I'm just chillaxing back [Music] we thought we would share a little bit more insight to you so you can know a little bit about what we did on the tour of it's called las isletas so the islands and it was a short distance stripe so if you want to go you have to leave the city center and you take like a little tour or you could probably do it by foot by take you quite a bit longer and from there all the boats leave and what's some interesting things like Chloe learns so the leak is called Koki Boca but they call a hasta Lake Nicaragua what's easier Lake Nakuru yeah and they also have bull sharks there but it looks like an ocean because it's really wavy but it's not an ocean it's a lake um it's also has 365 Islands so a lot of islands and the lake so it's the 10th largest freshwater in the whole world so that's quite freshwater lake in the world yeah yeah so it's really so we're gonna take you on a tour of the whole city this morning a lot of the buildings that you go in are like this where they have this center area like very Spanish looking and it is one of the it is a colonial city right so the city was founded back in the day so it was founded by Columbus de Kaluga and he came and essentially they called it Granada just like the ancient Granada in Spain and so that's why you see a lot of the colonial style of homes and the Spanish heritage that is here so we're gonna tell you what the local currency is so if you're coming here you know but download the XE app that way you'll figure it out too so it's called the Nicaraguan córdoba córdoba yeah like pretty much I know like this that's basically one u.s. dollar is about 32 their money that's the conversion mm-hmm it's easy to figure out and so let's take you on a tour of this colonial gem of Grenada it's actually one of the top destinations for tourists coming to Nicaragua too so make sure you don't miss it oh and by the way there's been you know so much lately in the news probably if you're watching this in a few years from now it's going to be much different but a lot of people were concerned about the you know your safety and stuff like that and honestly I was having almost like a panic attack myself well when we were in Europe when I was reading about what was happening here and we were planning our trip I was getting really really really concerned like anxiety concerned I was like we can't go it's too dangerous you know there's going to be all these like blocked off streets and what's interesting is as often you see in the media something and they play it over and over and it get like over again and yes they did go through some turmoil and some tough times but it's totally safe there's nothing happening right now and coz of you play it safe yeah I mean that night we're not going out and like City it's yeah but it's totally safe there's no problem to come here to Nicaragua so welcome let's go on our tour so we're gonna show you a tour of the square rate right outside of Salina it's really pretty let's go these are the colonial homes that we are talking about you know beautiful the earth I don't know what's in them but you could totally tell that they're from a long time ago so in the main square you can find a whole bunch of souvenirs let's show them this way it looks like really cool handmade gifts and paintings like this and jewelry pretty though now look at all the beautiful colors maybe next yeah so one thing we haven't figured out is like we are dripping sweating wet and you see these guys that are just behind me they're walking in paths and a lot of people here are and I just can't figure out because they must be used to the heat or something but I think if they went up north they would freeze the one thing you can do while you're here you see all these horse and buggies behind me you can go in a really nice person's buggy tour and they take you all to ride this city they show you all the historical points and it's just a really nice way to see the city and they're really informative so they'll teach you all about it we've had many people approached us to to tell us about the tourists I don't know if the pricing is gonna be like this all the time because right now they're really in need of tourists but it was only four dollars per person to was what he's offering us was at work and last bit one hour I think we're gonna go later there's really nice restaurant beautiful the buildings are really pretty here so addition what the market looks like [Music] chuckling every time for you chocolate chocolate chocolate see you don't have to live in Switzerland to get your chocolate fixed you can get your chocolate fix right here in Grenada can talk to you guys a little bit about how to get here so when you're coming in from Costa Rica you could do it as we did I found out now that we were overcharged but it was still really reasonable the buses are really really affordable here especially the ones that we took because of the public transportation so we just checked out how we're gonna leave so when you come in from Costa Rica you can take what's called a teacup bus and it brings you all the way across the border or you can do as we did where you take the bus and then you walk across and then you take another bus and to leave here we're gonna go towards Sun Quan bitsu which is the perfect surfing village and to go there you take a bus from here from Grenada to Rivas you change buses and from rebus you go to Sun fun than su and should only be about five two or five dollars per person like really really really affordable if you wanted to take it by taxi the guy wanted to charge us fifty dollars to go and fifty dollars to come back so hunter dollars round-trip that we're just going one way so there you go just in case you're wondering a bit about pricing and stuff like that and the buses are really compact as you saw it's up to you to do whatever you want for us that we're so better because the taxis are like really squished when there's a part of us in the back seat so I actually prefer the best so where are we right now we are in the Chocolate Factory and we're gonna go see the pool this is ducks in it yeah I think this place has hotel and chocolate spa and there's more so a museum is it like you everything samples here let's go see the cool what did you say inside the pool Ashley ducks apparently if you Selma some chairs they'll come up and bite you but look at these I think this is where these to do the washing of clothes so [Music] [Music] we're doing the tuffet tour right now and it sounds really good huh the guy convinced us to stay we were gonna come back later because we wanted to take advantage of the sunshine and go up the bell tower but we're gonna do a turn right now it's really nice they teach you a little bit about the history and I guess you can sample some what we're the beautiful table and cherries isn't that amazing so pretty coquetry in September October September to December why could help treat produce normally a hundred a hundred tween and the truth is rate when the corner is gentleman here the high season September to December would never cut the fruit we never juice the fruit for not to you this is exhibition for everybody here grind the cocoa beans by hands no with machines but now we have to grind some cocoa beans we have to dance and also let me show you the history of the chocolate they have a God and this is the gut right here they call the gut make chew on repeat with me make sure for this desert here they have a drink the drink was really really sir drinking this hot drink with spices like cinnamon sticks - Anastos always it was wandering it was he was making drinks for the God but the name of cacao the real name of cacao bean is Theobroma cacao Thiele means gods Brahma is food okay [Applause] [Applause] [Music] chocolate bars with maple syrup and orange orange if you want like your recommendation blue wrinkles print sprinkle of sea salt really [Music] [Music] but with hot days we are going to go out how many fear that in these three steps the city all right [Music] you see in a distance the volcano over there guys when you're coming to Grenada there are two volcanoes that you may want to go see one is very impressive and you can go in at night and you can actually see the lava and like you can see it with the bright colors and everything they do tours during the day as well but if you go at night then you get the really nice tours to see the colors and that's called the Messiah volcano and then right behind you in a distance I don't know if you can see it because it's kind of kind of hazy but over there is some actual volcano so there's two to see it here in the area and that's pretty impressive because it's an active volcano [Music] there is miss Chloe ready to take us on a tour all right come show me all the whole things that you like about this property yeah I like you show you a lot of things first like this and it's really nice to just read a book relax so they're like this swinging chairs like that [Music] we also use so that was really funny i'ma fight for rent I'm cute like the canvases but nothing in it just makes it really cool design [Applause] like that I'm laughing because I just got a coconut so each selena has a co-working space and I'll show you after in a minute the shared kitchen so that's the course with space acquisition it's really nice they ask like in each place they have like an old truck but this we could touch check on what the yeah all open set beautiful and then they have a videogames but that's a ping-pong area a library oh this is the best part of cinema some of my room you put Netflix in there yeah oh so if it rains it rains so pretty eh yeah I love the style of an earlier scene all right I think you took us on a really fantastic tour this is the shape chipped in so it's very nice because you can have your own link with me at the net like the thing I miss the most so do you want to have a sip of your coconut I'm not sure really finally healthy no never hide coconut water like this just tastes like light into coconut it's really yummy look at what we got it's coconut with butter inside of it try it it did it why try it but it's just like water is juliana has a hip behind it's healthier usually you try it I want to see if you like it you've tried it before it really well but that's different this is like their know that when we bought and Kansas disgusting taste like salts this tastes like just watered with a hint of coconut maybe coconut water is what keeps everybody so cool maybe if we wear if we drink it then we can wear pants and not be like sweating you think ok Julia's gonna shine alright so we're gonna go to her here's a guy named Gabrielle and I show us around the most historical parts and stuff like that so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so right now we just stopped here at this fort it's called pork bone Villa and it was here to defend the city against some of the pirates and stuff definitely glass ones so bright and wait till you see the inside is absolutely beautiful look at this [Music] a straight behind us is like a super lively place at night they do a lot of dancing on the weekends and during the weekdays there's a restaurant a little bit further down [Music] [Music] [Music] thanks for watching
