spirit be with you all and with your spirit and for us to be worthy to participate in this holy celebration let us approach our loving and compassionate father and ask for his mercy and forgiveness us pray grant us o lord we pray that the course of our world may be directed by your peaceful rule and that your church may rejoice and troubled in her devotion through lord jesus christ your son who about the grace that was to be yours searched and investigated it investigating the time and circumstances that the spirit of christ within them indicated when he testified in advance to the sufferings destined for christ and the glories to follow them it was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you with regard to the things that have not been announced to you by those who preached the good news to you through the holy spirit sent from heaven thanks into which angels long to look therefore gird up the loins of your mind live soberly and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of jesus christ like obedient children do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance but as he who called you is according to marek glory to you o lord peter began to say to jesus what have given up everything and followed you jesus said amen i say to you there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands with persecutions the eternal life in the aids to come but many that are first will be lost in the last will be first sisters and brothers the gospel of the lord grace to you lord jesus christ brothers and sisters in christ what are we capable of giving up for jesus could we give up our riches and could we give up our life of hedonism and worldliness perhaps this is quite hard to do if we do this abruptly because we've been used to living this life for so long but we see the demand of jesus that even relationship if you're going to leave your father your mother your children almost all those people you are due to us that you have to sacrifice for the sake of jesus but if we try to slowly detox ourselves from life of worldliness and we begin to trust and love jesus more than this world we also see a mark of improvement in our life slowly also that there would be less human created worriness and problems this is for the reason that we decided to embrace jesus more than this world i think the best example i can give or i can share with you especially in today's gospel is saint francis of assisi himself when he already encountered jesus in the life of the lepers and much more when he went outside assisi and see the realities of life outside his comfort zone there he encountered god and he was so in love much more when he went to san dimiano and he saw that bellapidating church and heard the voice of jesus my son built my church for its fooling into ruin and then all of a sudden his father was surprised and destroying all their belongings and sharing it to the poor even to the point of embracing the lepers not in his first encounter nandibirusha no and jesus became the very core of his of his life he stripped himself naked in front of the leaders of the church during his time acknowledging that the power the riches that is coming from god is his treasure and not the treasure of the world i don't believe if we can still do that in our time today but i think giving up sacrificing our comforts and everything for the sake of god is also a big struggle on our part but in our gospel today brothers and sisters jesus is telling us that that if we give up this world and choose to follow him we will receive more than this world could offer true indiana only god only god can give us this gift of life i'm not saying that the riches of the world is bad but if we use the riches of the world to promote the kingdom of god if we use the richness of the world to let other people see that they are also blessed by god we are on the right track but if we allow ourselves to be entangled by this power of the world you know by the riches of the world if these creatures of the world will distance our relationship with god then we are not in the right trap so sisters and brothers we slowly have to cut and cut cleanly our relationship with our friends especially who have not brought any good in our life there are some friends you know and much and then we begin to develop a much deeper relationship with our family then slowly detach ourselves from our vices and anything that is impure we all admit that that we have our own we have our own impurities our weaknesses and limitations and once we recognize that and come to god pleading for his mercy and forgiveness i believe god will not turn his back against us and then we also develop a real relationship with god then we have to also attend the mass and even read the holy bible to guide us through and through in our day to day journey in this world so sisters and brothers in christ if god will demand us to follow him and ask us to sacrifice something that is really precious to us never be afraid of to give up because god will not invite us to follow him to ruin our life god will invite us to see that he is more you know generous than the world can offer god will invite us to a better life god will invite us to follow him to see how precious we are in his in in in his company so brothers and sisters let us help to make let's make decision what can i give up at this point in time in my life to follow jesus aware of the danger in putting our trust in the pleasures of this world we lift up our hearts in fervent prayer to the father and in every petition our response be father you are our all father you are our all but the church throughout the world may be an effective sign of the way to everlasting happiness and eternal life let us pray to the lord father you are our all that we may learn to trust in spiritual values which enrich our being and not in material possessions which bring discontent to our souls let us pray to the lord father you are our all that we may never close our hearts to those in need but consciously involve ourselves in christ's work of healing and reconciling let us pray to the lord father you are our all that the sick and the disabled may experience the lord's care through the love of their neighbors and friends let us pray to the lord father you are our all that the coronavirus pandemic come to a swift resolution with a recovery of the sick and the protection of those who serve on the front lines grand solas to those who grieve the loss of a loved one sustain those who have lost their livelihood and comfort those who are separated from family give wisdom to government leaders and medical experts who are instrumental in overcoming this crisis help us to rise above our fears and isolation while acting responsibly for the good of all let us pray to the lord father you are our all that our deceased relatives and friends may enjoy god's peace in heaven let us pray to the lord father you are our all and in the silence of our hearts we offer our personal intentions let us pray to the lord father you are our all heavenly father [Music] look with compassion on the needy enlighten our lives with your truth and give us the grace to live out the high ideals put before us by your son jesus christ hosanna in the highest you are indeed holy o lord the fount of all holiness make holy there for this gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfalls so that they may become for
