welcome to People Entertainment Weekly's red carpet live are you guys excited yes we're excited to be here like we said downtown LA it's hot it is hot it feels good it feels good and guess what you look good too look there is so much to get to today we're excited to have you here with us we are gonna go down the red carpet the stars gonna be talking to us all the way up until that Emmys broadcast begins later on tonight like we said the 70th annual Emmy Awards I'm Jeremy Parsons host of people now Lola so many stars so many categories and things to talk about right out of the gate who are you most excited to see what are you pumped for well you know I love fashion so I'm excited to see all of the dresses but I'm also excited to see these badass women on the red carpet the finest actresses in the game today all on this carpet I cannot wait to see Penelope Cruz and doubt Jane Lynch talk to you name is La Heat the list goes on and on Tracee Ellis Ross Issa Rae we're gonna get to all those a good thing guys we've got you covered with not only some of the stars and we're going to be talking about we've got three different locations down the carpet and up the carpet JD Haman people deputy editor along with Rocsi Diaz the host of people check TVs shatter down the carpet a bit hey guys how you feeling what are we looking forward to Hey decidedly warm we chose for it to be this at least it's not how hot it was three years ago this carpet it was like 115 degrees people were passing outside we should consider ourselves lucky right now that we're here at the tail end of the carpet so just in case anybody tries to get away they won't be able to because we have them covered right here right here and give them a great big Hollywood bear hug which is what it feels like we're in right now so yeah really interesting things right now of course they're celebrating the 70th this is the 70mm e celebration and ford the at occasion the carpet is gold did you notice it's not it's a shimmering gold carpet which traps the sunlight nicely and radiates it back up and upon of celebrity and glamour we love it a lot of great performers here tonight we've got the whole cast of Game of Thrones which is gonna be so interesting a whole Lannister family nominated and you said a clever quote from the land oh yeah well they always pay their debt yeah so I wonder if they pay their I mean that but what we do have to do is check in with mr. Jared Hall jared is at the other end of the road we got this carpet covered for you I'm telling you guys how are you Jared we do from every angle hi I'm great how are you you guys look stunning we are so happy to be here and this position right here I mean you can kind of look around Milo Ventimiglia right here we just had Chris Sullivan was here so many nominees already strolling in they've been out here for a good hour now I'm talking to press kit and their photos taken you're gonna hear me probably scream a little bit when Tracee Ellis Ross comes through I'm an enormous fan of the blackish actress and fingers crossed for a win tonight I don't know you guys I think it's already a crime that she hasn't won before but we'll get more into those nominees and categories later but yes it is with it we have a great vantage point up here like you said covering from all angles they just keep strolling around this corner and we're gonna get him here we'll send them down to Jeremy and Lola Roxy JD you got em all covered but right now we are gonna go back to Jeremy and Lola yeah guys the one and only Michelle wolf is here hello hey what could happen when Michelle wolf walks up we're ready we're strapped in and ready to go Michelle take us there you went back a year a year and a half ago and we're able to tell yourself then what this moment would be like maybe not this exact moment but this face of life what would you say how would you be able to sum it all up I would just say like I wouldn't change anything I wouldn't change a single thing I'm very happy what happens when you run into and out on the red carpet today oh my god I can't I first of all I want to apologize terrible right we understand from your perspective look you go up and down this carpet all these stars are here who's Michelle wolf forget excited to see Oh I mean I've been talking about the whole time big killing a fan so big Sandra Oh fan and then all my comic friends that are here means good to see other comics dressed up when you look at the the work you've done and and all are the controversy right that surrounds everything that you've done which is which is this kind of interesting maybe blessing curse I don't know what's the reaction from your comedy friends and the people that know you then versus maybe the reaction from other people what do you see like the the juxtaposition yeah I mean with my comedy friends it's mostly either we either make fun of each other or like that's a good joke you know so that's all we care about we care about like did you write a good joke and yeah I mean that they're they're more like they look at it from a technical perspective yeah speaking of good jokes any advice for Colin and Michael tonight go hard go hope they don't pull any punches is there a joke you have in mind that if you were hosting tonight that would be the thing I don't start the worst thing that's a comic specifically not thinking oh hey it's so good to talk to you thank you for being here you do too fun going down that carpet good night tonight thank you have fun all right so so someone's coming up behind us and she is a stunner all the cool Evon you look fantastic extraordinary and this has been an extraordinary time for you I cannot believe you almost didn't pursue your dreams of being an actress you did everything but almost went to med school I got my master's degree I worked in Liberia doing Public Health in a war-torn country a war-torn country now I may be the lab for a living so it's just kind of amazing when you think about all those different things what is it about acting that gives you may be a fulfillment or something that those other things didn't well you know what it is it's just about having a platform and being able to create some things really don't like I'm so grateful that insecure is like the first thing that I'm doing on the on a major platform Thank You HBO my mom is really happy telling a really poignant story like a necessary story for the times that we live in right now so it's also fun you mentioned your parents yeah I know that Nigerian parents prefer that we go into traditional fields like medicine or business what happened when you told your parents that you were gonna be both a comedian and an actor well I told them I was gonna be a comedian my mom was like you want to be a just that I'm a comedian but let me tell you my mom is having the time of her life now insecure comes on in Nigeria through the FEV and my mom knows the time I just watch TV went off and I'm so happy I was like wait whatever so did you watch what were we doing moment that you dreaded most your mom to see from the show well it hasn't happened yet how excited is this array for tonight and what does it mean to her from your perspective I think she I just saw her she looks like an amazing cloud of just gorgeousness I mean her like baby powder blue dress and I think she's just happy you know like this started off as a web series and started off with her just feeling like I don't see myself I don't see myself being recognized I am an opera black girl so I'm gonna create something and to now be nominated for something that you just did because the market didn't value you in that way and now it's celebrating you so it's I think it's a phenomenal trying to be Vance if you not only are you celebrated your on billboards in Times Square and on Sunset Boulevard I cried I imagine I promise you I called my mom these are happy tears gave me you like here's your gesture on Times Square billboards to take that speaking of scare me I have to ask what happens at that yacht party that ISA ray likes to throw on this Saturday before the Emmys because my timeline was filled with a lot of pictures down Jerrod Hall with another celeb thank you for being here love you have a great night hey how are you guys we are here with the Fab five we've got Jonathan Bobby tan Anthony and garam Oh guys welcome and the pressure must be off tonight right because you've already collected your trophies yes it is here to support ya to present though right we're presenting tonight hey but are the nerves bigger to present or waiting they're sitting waiting for your name to be called fashion moment and you are doing it all tonight all looking very different very dapper stellar point where the Fat Bob and we want to make sure that we inspire men to know that they can step out of their comfort zone and do different things up to that word fab it's a short but very important word who are you guys excited to see tonight oh my gosh we've been seeing a lot of them Tina Fey looks amazing already it was Tina Tina Tina yeah always just met her last week or a recently we know a little while back but we got a nice little hangout at the Netflix party over at Ted's house and it was lovely yeah I've been Mandy Moore I'm kind of waiting to see what she's gonna be doing because she has been killing it on her Instagram so I'm kind of excited about so just got here - yeah just beginning we haven't had like a full full brain still have to take it all in yeah you got to take an experience guys you've been filming season 3 Kansas City in a word a phrase how do you sum up your experience there versus Georgia you know it's a very different experience because people obviously know who we are this year and so we've really been able to enjoy the city and be welcomed at a really loving and accepting way were in Atlanta we were kind of there hiding nobody knew we were there we couldn't talk about it so it's been a very eye-opening experience at the Midwest and I'm wondering - because the show's been on and people have seen you is there a different it's a different energy in the city the word is energetic because there's definitely an excitement now that the show's been out and people responded to it as as well as they have it's definitely been a different vibe in that respect but there's when we get with the people that we do make better there's no change in them because the minute they get around the five of us they forget there's cameras they forget that they're on clear eye and they just get engrossed in everything we're trying to help them with everything relish in the wind have fun up on stage and we'll see you soon and we're gonna toss it over to Jay Dee and Roxy now well we're happy to be standing here with the amazing Dakota Fanning who scared and riveted us in the alienist a very very disturbing and riveting tale of Victorian murder and solving um are you good sleuth yourself can you figure these things out specially after playing this character it's such a different and odd space for you know I mean I feel like we've grown up watching you but when you go get roles like that to sink your teeth into you're like ha I'm not that little girl Hollywood anymore leave me alone for quite some time um yeah I loved doing the a leanness and I loved getting to tell a story over ten hours that was something in films you know it's they're not quite as long so it was it was exciting to get to continue the journey with one character and we're doing another series which is based on the second book by the Kayla car and so we get to do more it's so it's exciting it's very it's been different but a really fun experience in terms of doing a period piece you have to wear a lot of costumes in this but you also have to do action and kind of what's the most difficult thing about running around and all those bustles and brooches I think it's just that wearing a corset and having like lots of petticoats and like little Victorian lace-up boots you know they're not they're not made for for action but somehow you figure it out I made for red carpets right now because right now I'm ready to die I'm ready to die have you ever had a mishap happen right before you come to the red carpet where you're like spazzing out in the car cuz like I just did a major burn yesterday so you know the things that happened how did the zipper break on a dress like when I had to walk out the door and I sort of have did like a crab walk well we'll be googling we'll be trying to figure that out that's our me that's our that's our mystery to solve so many other crazy people here are you fans of any of the other shows that are nominated tonight oh I am I am I'm a I'm I'm a big big TV watcher so yeah I'm excited to be in such great company and excited to see the other people in the alienness we're all very good friends and looking forward to just having fun tonight well fantastic well I think we've got somebody down on the other end of the red carpet so we're gonna throw to Jeremy I think are we not all right guys here we go Regina King have I ever been more of a thorn between two roses than this moment my gosh we planned this we don't really you're no stranger to Hollywood the award shows this whole thing you know what it's about what does it mean to you to be a part of a project like you're a part of and to be representing it's it's pretty fantastic I mean it's kinda was the same thing with American crime I do gravitate towards projects that kind of hold a mirror up to what's going on in the world or in America you know so it feels good that people are actually watching because sometimes I think with subject matter like this people feel like they have to watch TV oppose that they're watching to be entertained so it feels good that they feel a bit of both can we talk about how illustrious your career is and how long you've been in the game you started when you were a kid I know it's all you still look like a child thank you well I I'm only 21 that's right I love it save one for me but talk to me about longevity in this business how have you managed to be here still working still thriving um you know a lot of things that I don't I don't think we have time for me to go through all of them but I would say first and foremost just staying close to those people that are honest you know I'm very close to my family they've been with me every step of the way my representation they're very honest and I've been with them for 20 years so I just think like never let your mind get bigger than reality yeah and in that same note you've seen to some degree the evolution of the industry here right and just talk about what you just mentioned being a part of projects that you're passionate about that have a little heavier subject matter that's a change in recent years isn't it Oh huge change and I mean a big part of that is because of streaming in cable and it's just allowed artists to you know spread our wings and stretch even more and more opportunities to stretch I think that's part of the reason why you're seeing more nominees of color because they're more chances for us to show our talents you know one of the things I think is important to point out about your careers that you also direct know that so you step behind the camera as well what's it like for you to wear that hat oh my gosh I feel like it was a natural space to go it just feels like I'm able to tell stories on a deeper level because this is director you get to work with everyone you're not just focused on a character you're focused on all the characters your focus on the entire visual product the final product from top to bottom so it's just me being able to work with people on a deeper level okay real quick what's the Regina King after-party for the Emmys look like oh gosh well because I'm tied with a lot of people I think I got to go to Fox I think I got to go to Netflix HBO yeah Oh tough life has to go to all these parties my sneakers at some point yeah like vintage Pucci's that are mine yeah [Music] it's so good to talk to you great great evening do some swing we'll figure it out a little later oh we keep on keep on rolling here I believe hello sir how are you oh my goodness good to see you I have one question yes ma'am is your character alive or dead and on power deleterious silver is dead mostly because of the first name are you serious yes joke down a lot of people on the streets ask you most about these days you got a lot of roles take a picture with me my girl hey before we go any further we always talk about the ladies are wearing let's talk about what this man is wearing look at the green what went into the decision it's looking good that was my stylist Simone marine you know she has a relationship with this this young designer named kashtanka turn so he fitted me out a lot of swagger in that suit what does it mean to you to have acknowledgement on a night like tonight I'm very excited I mean look Jesus Christ Superstar was was so well received I'm just excited that our peers are celebrating us tonight that they celebrated us last week we got five Johnny Legend took home the Egon and Angelo ever Hampton Rises like it's been very celebratory for us as a project and also Craig zadan our our producer he passed the other day and so to win one for him meant a lot for us all when it comes sorry when it comes to John Legend I just wanted to I mean he seems like a humble guy he's got talent but when you got Egon over the door I mean does it all change does he call does you return the calls I'm telling you mean it's only Chrissy keeping him humble news Chrissy Teigen actually pronounces her name Chrissy Teigen did you know that so we said John Legend or is it John Legend I don't know you tell me I've never heard it become French uh-huh I like it song yeah they've only gone he needs to create this is one of the dumbest things and I just imagine myself ever being in a project like Jesus Christ Superstar that those songs become so embedded what are you waking up in the morning brush your teeth and it's still going through your head every time I look at you I don't understand and mostly because it's widely applicable to my life and the people in it moment at the mirror what's what are you doing why did you do that last night it's so good to see you take that green tux and tear up the carpet good night alright and we're going to Jared Hall yes hi I am here with the one the only from willing Grace Megan Mullaly who portrays of course it goes without saying Karen Walker one of the greatest characters ever on television and I am so thrilled to be here with you right now um this is not your first trip down this carpet but it has been a while since you were here so do all of those old memories come flooding back even being here yeah it's really incredible that the show even came back in the first place I mean it traditionally just does not happen and so to me it's kind of like a miracle and yet it feels perfectly natural like we we just went away for the weekend and came back so yeah this is really fun and it's I think the fun thing about it too it's just like seeing friends and people that you don't yeah you every what if from this first season do we call it that the first season back is there a moment a scene that you're most proud of yeah a beirut an episode called rosario's quinceanera I really that meant a lot to me that they would write something like that and trust me to pull it off how many takes was that sitting at the casket really did too and they used the first one yeah take she nails it on the first take it's such though a a tender and special and still in a Will & Grace way humorous which of course it still had to be pulling out that cleaner yeah was that it was that in there were the things that you were like I gotta do something yeah they wrote it so beautifully and I didn't really rehearse it very much Jimmy Jimmy understood that it was something that you can't really rehearse something like that too much or you'll start like coming up with like it's a way to do it instead of just being in the moment so yeah I'd only really kind of you know like walk through it a couple of times before we shot it there are a lot of changes coming up on season two yeah what are you most excited for fans to see well premieres October 4th they think to me I think it's the best I think it's our best yet ever of all seasons I think that's how I feel I I maybe I don't know I haven't seen any of the actual shows but it's felt right feels really good it's still it's really funny but there's some there's like more levels or something now I don't know it's just getting some texture and but it's really really funny well that's what we love and of course expect from the show and a nominee tonight if I didn't mention it earlier you're so deserving you're the role and get as mean as possible because this comes easily to me right well don't turn your back on her ever I did want to ask you one of the things you've talked about is how when you started out as an actor people didn't like you to use your accent as much and now you get to use it more you know I do I do I do everything now now they let me act before they I don't know what they wanted from me well like Hollywood doesn't know what they want at any time I think they want you to do some people in on behalf of the KGB very true well Margo it's so great to see you best of luck we're gonna beads the shoes exquisite from head to toe how did you go about choosing this dress why is this this is a beautiful Couture dress by Pamela Roland and it just it just called out on me you know just picked me you know I mean so I knew are so comfortable I feel happy in it and I picked this one tonight you were just standing here saying that this is a very chill carpet this event seems to be like a it's kind of a chill thing I mean look you're at a point in your life now where this is just this is your part of your life right this is the thing you do what does it feel like to have that as your real I do you look around and say oh my gosh this is really hot it's crazy because when I was younger five minutes ago five minutes ago I always look at these shows I would always watch them back-to-back whether it's the Emmys whether it's the Oscars whatever it may be I would watch it and be like I want to be there one day and now that I'm here it's just it's it's just cool to see everybody you know just vibe and appreciate each other's work it's lovely okay we have to talk about Black Panther did you know that you were gonna be a part of one of the biggest films in history I knew something specially was about to happen hit you it's a juggernaut it would buy think everybody took it and ran with it we did our best we did what we could do we gave the people our love and our hard work and everybody just loved on the project and loved on us and was just really grateful really really great any of your Black Panther co-stars reach out to you about tonight um yes Chadwick you know and Momma Angelo he's gonna be here I can't wait to see her she's just like have fun relax and just have a good time can you tell us about a sequel anything yeah that's definitely coming okay tonight what what you know you've been in the industry you know what these events are like what does it mean to be honored at this point for this project and the things that you're doing well it's it's Ryan Murphy and some of the most extraordinary people I've ever had an opportunity to work with the actors as well as all the people behind the scenes they're really amazing and Ryan is very specific about the kind of work that he wants and things that he wants done and that's like if that makes a great leader what it means to me tonight is that you know there's so much television now yes more than ever and to be included and to be nominated in this climate I feel like I want it's incredible it really is when ryan murphy calls do you automatically say yes because you know he writes amazing roles for women yes you know that you're gonna get something really maybe you're not gonna be able to dial it in because it's going to be so substantive you better not dial in anything anytime right ever but true he takes you up to another to another notch Tom Rob Smith who wrote this script yes an incredible journey and everything in it was incredibly specific and yes that's right when Ryan Murphy calls you say yes I would imagine you've got that specificity from the Liat from the man doing the thing and then you put your best out there is there a moment watching back that you've been most proud of that man he really got it right and I got it right and it really worked that's a really good question I'd have to say last year and the Emmys and when I was nominated the next day it was a Monday it was Sunday last year it was a Monday and I had a very big emotional scene that had long monologues in it and I said can we not do that the day after the Emmys and they said no actually we have to do it then we've slated it for then so the fact that everybody on that team the crew hair wardrobe makeup our director Quentin order Peyton everybody was there so present to support me through that scene there's a scene where I'm taking off my makeup and it's a very emotional scene and I think that that I'm so proud of to have been with all of them to have been the way they supported me thank you for sharing that with us and we're out of time thank you for stopping by we really appreciate we're going down the carbonate Jarrett Hall who I have with me she really I've gone very retro the dress I love it it looks as they're the vintage this embellishment is wonderful my friend Amanda Thompson made it for me in England she's brilliant as are you that's why you're here we love you so much tell me in all the years you have had different iterations of shows and characters what is this one in particular mean to you this this point in your life and this show you're doing name in the title small if I called it something ethereal like the world as she sees it you never put your name in the title first thing I learn but then just I can evolve you know what I'm still doing yet still doing all the characters but I look at the world around me and I know the characters I play may be getting older or varying but I'm just it's you know it's being eclectic I'm still so eclectic and I could never stick to one character wouldn't that be a relief well I don't know what it though would you get bored getting changed every 10 minutes a recycling or a constant cycle going on so then when you're at events like this then are you watching or do you feel like you're like that in general life observer picking hyperventilating weird I'm atmosphere and everyone's looking around and but it's a lovely thing to cut others have been coming for years and years and years everyone needs to go and see Jean Kasem who wore her own dress you know everyone it was always I'm one of those people now that says things like I was more relaxed back then I still love Carly it's a privilege I love her and their take as many pictures as I can with Donald Glover and John it are you more nervous for them than when you were nominated does that make sense no like some people are like they try to block it out and not think about when they're nominated my son were nominated and he's 2 years old so he could be soon could happen in a year now I would be nervous but I'm like only happy for them and I'm I really hope Titus wins I sort of feel like he's going good but mostly I need him to sing a song when he gets up there so tight as if you're watching this is something planned are you tipping us off his oh well thank you for stopping by I have a great night have anything impeding my feet to block off the way who's the who the may one of the cast that really gets it down see Elisabeth Moss but then I come in Yvonne is pregnant but that's not gonna stop her from dancing I mean all of us are we all stand a party the other night and Madeleine was I actually shouldn't tell this story we danced sorry mom walking on the red carpet earlier she looked absolutely amazing holding that pregnancy very very well are you guys like crossing fingers that you get then you get the win and then all of a sudden you get a baby at the same time I think she's gonna be okay she's gonna hold on she's a strong girl I know it's gonna be a win we're all excited for her so we can't wait to meet the baby and also hold her other little baby she's gonna win so one of the things that's surprising about your cast is you all have a really good time but most of the time when you're working together you're just really putting each other through I know so how do you decompress after you know a mass hanging or you know whatever what do you guys do to kind of blow off steam it's funny because all of us to be still in between takes we love a lot of Taylor Swift t-swift we love ya love she's never won in gilead yeah and we tell jokes we shop online we talk about Drake I mean we just do the things that normal people do it's just that where could be yeah any moment and you have to stay in the bonnets yeah up there in Toronto how about that Drake yeah well in the six he's the king yes yeah we know about Toronto yeah we do once again congratulations on everything the show is absolutely amazing we look forward to many many many many more seasons to come throw it down to Jeremy and Lola yeah Jeremy Lola what's going on we're we're here with young Kevin Logan Shroyer how you doing the man we've been waiting and we found out everything about him grew up in Redondo Beach surfing yes and then it just segues into acting somehow and here you are I know and Here I am that's great so tell me about if you backed up a few years the kids surfing in Redondo Beach knew about this what would be your piece of advice or this way you'd sum up the whole experience I've been working on now to just enjoy it because this is my first Emmys that I've ever been to and that's spectacular to see everybody here and it's really cool and like yeah I don't know I still feel like a surfer kid from Redondo Beach so that's kind of cool the red carpet is sort of like surfing right you got it you gotta ride it do whatever you want tell me about the whirlwind of this is us from your perspective right you're just saying that you were coming in earlier with sterling Kay and some of the other cast members what is that what's the vibe like between all of you guys it's great it's like a family like it's really cheesy to say that but it's true like they've they've they've just been there for us anytime we needed anything we can call them and I don't know it's just one of those shows that like it starts from denkova min the creator and John Uggla and everybody can Olin like everyone's been so great I've been actually like learning to be director I've been exactly lots of heat going on this show you have such a legion of fans and followers is there a a scene a moment an episode that when they get a chance to talk to you fans want to talk about Coachella featured episode just last week and a lot of people have feelings about that I'm very excited you know it's just so cool that people have conversations about our show like I said every single facet and you know it's great but does that make you better in a way because you're thinking more about other things than maybe what you were before I'm aware that conversations are happening so we can't slip and we have to be very you know we have to be we have to be very conscious in our storytelling but at the same time I'm also great about like shutting everybody everywhere in that writers room and telling the story that I want to tell yeah well you've told some great stories you're phenomenal on the show and congratulations and best of luck tonight yeah thank you have a great night Jeremy moment versus the excitement of Emmy you know acknowledgment but where does it all add up Oh God I mean working on the show feels like you know your inner six-year-old dream self is you know being let run around in a pasture of rainbows this stuff feels kind of like you know the good kind of PTSD if there is yeah I'm nervous but it's all really fun were you up like a fan of the original series Clos well I was far too young only 16 but I went down the YouTube rabbit hole of watching the original glow and I highly recommend it it's it's amazing it's yeah you know just ladies are mentally unstable Barbies fighting each other which is what I want to do for the rest of my life so is this incredible fan base people love it and obviously people respond to it it's got to feel good to have something people are responding so positively to that's one thing the second part I guess would be how what kind of reaction do you get from fans and maybe even peers here at an event like this um you know I on red carpets and in the show where so much you know kardashian Warpaint that I'm not recognized a lot because I look like a totally different person so I really don't get a lot of feedback because I you know I just look like oh yeah I just look like a Stickley Paul Revere in life and then now you know it's the smoke and beer talk to us about what your morning was like walked us through today yes what was today like for you before you arrived on the gold carpet um well I ate a CBD candy so I'm feeling great that's awesome highly recommend did you bring some to share I didn't but I will yeah my best friend came over and we just laughed at the whole thing because it's so insane it's insane that this is happening and is it appropriate to cry and people TV I don't think so but I could it's so great to talk to you I wish that we could hang out all night because I think you'd be the most fun person to watch the show with hey good luck with everything have a great night thank you all right them and I'm just in awe of their work so I'm just very happy to be part of it yeah you throughout the course of this series you played 13 different supporting it's a grand total oh yeah yeah they're one clone in particular that really spoke to who you are as a real woman was era I mean I think they were all kind of like a threat of me that was sort of exaggerated and kind of blown out a little bit I love Rachel magatsum oh really my two favorites yeah yeah Rachel for me was like a tough one to kind of connect to I once you found the sort of thing inside that was fragile and that needed you know was that's that's where I kind of like I need that Bob been a favorite look of all of them that you now you that you really like I like Hellena she's like a little monster yes I love that sea star we tell that I'm a fan yeah when you look at some of the other people in the county who are you a fan of what other shows tonight are you fans oh is incredible she's a fellow Canadian I'm very proud of that but also her work it's just always been incredible and killing eve is amazing and she's also just a really good person you get that sense from watching her and meeting her she's just really incredible yeah I guess final one before out what's what's after party look like for you what's that vibe what kind of I've been at a party with you and you're a dancer too you thank you very and how this kind of ranks among the things you enjoy I mean it's great because I get to celebrate with all the hard work and with all the people who have done all the hard work that you don't see in front of the camera it's also an opportunity to remind people about the ACLU and the work that we're doing with rejoining the separated families they're still about through over three hundred three hundred and four families parents that went were sent back down to Central America and the ACLU is actually down there making sure that their kids are where they should be and trying to work to reunite them so it's a big deal and you know while these dresses and everything are great I'm trying to remember that you know there are people who have it a lot worse in the world Padma you've always been one of those women who's used her platform for good why is that been important for you I think I'm very lucky to be standing here in a beautiful dress on TV you know I was an immigrant I was a little girl who was separated from my parents for two years and you know I just feel like if I've had the good fortune to be here and be here that I should pay it forward or I should use what I've been given to greater good to pull other people up you know and I think we have to do that as immigrants but we also have to do that as women what's your message be to maybe an immigrant child that would be watching you right now that has a similar story as yours that says wow if she can do it that looks up to you what would that message be well I would say we don't always start out the same but we all can achieve whatever we want it is hard and life is long and it takes you a lot longer than you think it's gonna take you you know to get where you want to go but you can do it I mean that's or two which is great that means for season three maybe they can bring it back down and maybe you'll see some more resistance coming in I don't know well quickly I would love to know if you had a prediction of crystal ball for season three and where it could go where would you love to see it go I would love to see Fred perpetually become a handmaid wearing upon it for the rest of his life you whined and how do you unwind that's the question you know I enjoy pretending for a living so I'm thrilled that American Horror Story touches all those little insecurities and then you can let it go at the end of the day guys just had the big premiere last week what was the fan reaction like for you I have only heard amazing things and people wanting to know more and I always say the same thing I can't tell you anything you yeah you were really tight-lipped when you came on chatter she wasn't giving up she didn't give a thing up so what scares you like what do you find scary I have to say when I was shooting coats the scene with the boys those men all dressed like neo-nazis that's scared letting crap out of me scary cuz there's something real in that exactly right exactly I think that's the scariest part when it can actually well when it does happen so yeah that terrified me red carpets could be also kind of scary it is there something you dread when you get on a red carpet ever you know I thought and you're scared about tripping out of other kind of fun stuff but I have a theater background you know and so hey this is my first time enjoy and let whatever happens happen so I had a ball on that red carpet I still AM oh you look great and congratulations don't like tonight we're gonna take it back to Jared thank you mama yes we are down here with mr. Bill Hader by the five nominations this guy has congratulations thank you Sarah thank you quite an accomplishment of course for Barry for acting writing directing for the series and for guest hosting this old show called Saturday Night Live yeah which one means the most to you oh man that's hard but they're both like I mean it but they're both mean a lot to me right now it's really exciting berry for a first season to get recognized like this is pretty great well and and fur rolled it of course is such a departure for you unless folks saw your incredible turn in the skeleton twins and which I think was really to me kind of a gateway of like a Bill Hader can go to some deep dark places and did you really know you had it in you I I guess I don't know yeah I know you just I were more like write a story and then you kind of write this story and then the character kind of you know comes out of the story so it's never like oh I want to do something dark and weird it kind of just I don't know just ended up that way yeah what's the the scene or the the moment that you look at from the first season and are just most proud of there's a scene with me and this guy Chris Marquette we're in a car together in episode 7 and that's a very tense scene but I was very proud of that one I like Bergerac to that episode he did a great job well the show is just I mean so unexpected is that a word for it is that the kind of the reception you've done yeah mostly unexpected and what's wrong with you did something happen are you okay you got to exercise some stuff yeah you're working something out I guess yeah oh you of course I've been to this ceremony several times who are you kind of skimming the crowd looking for excited to see and catch up with water I'm just looking for water that's all I'm looking for okay your show is one that I've heard a lot of people say they binge watched what's the last show you benched oh man well Atlanta season two I watched and I loved it yeah and I've you so much you know you know at these events you get to see people who you don't see in a long time I saw Debra Messing I haven't seen her in a while she took me and embrace me and just had the kindness things and Lina way who I just bow down to that woman that she is just so brilliant and I I carry what she said to me yesterday in my heart today what did she say it's me it's for me it's for you hearing things from your peers is one thing but then from real people maybe little girls that are looking at you and saying this is representation that I haven't seen before and to be acknowledged in that way what is that kind of feedback mean to you a huge amount because I remember being that girl I remember absolutely being 10 about the time when I started acting not knowing why I needed to do what I needed to do and that there just wasn't really anything out there very very little the the disconnect that I remember feeling at that young age or the feeling of not belonging if there's a way of changing that if there is a way of saying to a possibility to a young girl you can do this you can be a part of culture in this way I feel I hope to be a part of that what advice do you have for the young girls of all backgrounds who want to be Sandro when they grow up no you be your own girl oh you be your own girl and you'd be brilliant yes Wow well we're so excited to talk to you and no no you deserve to be here but how does your your your experience your creative endeavor here what did you get from this doing this production that you haven't from other things you've done I think that it has been you know first of all I feel like what they did with Jesus Christ Superstar was something really bold and really wildly creative so I felt really honored that I got to be a part of that you know getting to celebrate Andrew Lloyd Webber and 10-run Tim Rice and their legacy it means so much to me in the theater and so it was just it was spectacular it was the one that I felt like did the Super Bowl of musical theater so it was exciting well and and your category is phenomenal who with within this prestigious group are you excited to see I'm always excited anytime I get to be in a room with Judith Light I am very excited so I'm just gonna sidle up and neljä be crews I mean coming it's a pretty stellar group as you know we here celebrating TVs finest of course what's the last thing you've been watched Castle Rock ooh tell me all about it what did you love I loved that it is Stephen King of course if you're from JJ Abrams it's it's bad robot and and it's so bizarre and it's suspenseful and the cast is incredible and each episode I'm like I keep coming away from going what happened and it makes me want to watch the next one yeah okay the intrigue the mystery it's so favorite housemate in Silicon Valley and a movie star now crazy rich AZ that's right a huge year obvious thank you tell me what was exciting about being in such a huge park Buster did you see that coming when you got you know cast and great Jewish agents we knew it was a culturally important and it was something important for us and all people to do right and it was just so much fun shooting in Singapore but we didn't expect it was gonna it just hit I think 150 million yeah and it's crazy and the people coming up to us that said they've seen a movie three times four times someone want even Asian and that is the best thing it's like really resonating with people and it means a lot to people than just a movie so I'm super happy man you really stole the show I mean it's gotta be kind of fun to be able to be like the one that goes all out I think all of us has a part of us that just want to live vicariously through that character you live with no rules money's not an issue just a billionaire party boy so that was so fun to be able to be that guy for like two months you know yeah you had to gain so much weight for that role oh I gained so much weight like you know I'm a matter actor that's why I got a gut for that role it's amazing what you did the transformations it's incredible thank you what you do with physical transformations like what Meryl Streep does with accents it's incredible or like what Christian Bale does but the other way the opposite side exactly going I was gonna say that's Silicon Valley what you know people are obsessed with the character because he's kind of horrible and yet you know what's the most fun thing about playing that guy it's like a little David versus Goliath whereas him and the Erlich Bachman character or him versus - Gavin Belson character he's like this very like unassuming guy but he just evil like not evil in a way that like I guess no he's evil okay okay - something great but he just he steps up which is what what's interesting because that first you think oh this guy's just a punching bag maybe and then people bully him but then he steps up so there's some kind some kind of redemption in all those stories which thing is happened it is a thing the award shows are becoming more more familiar you're just telling me it's not unknown at this point but you never fully get used to it you never fully get used to it but I think the exciting thing about being at a show and being you know shoulder the shoulder with with actors that you admire and people you admire and it's it's fun you get to see your friends you get to see your peers you get to see other beautiful artists that are impacting the world with our work so speaking of friends I spoke with Krissy mess last year she said that if she was ever in jail she had to call one person to come bail her out stolen cables around and ask you the same question if you'd had a wild night out and you needed to call one of your cast mates who would it be well while night out is where we actually kind of stopped Saturday night I was at home studying show for the work yeah yeah stuff like that we were kind of going into some heavy territory for Jack right now lately so for me you know I got to work on the weekends I work when I get home from work I work when I get up in the morning so yeah when it comes to that kind of thing obviously it plays out well on the screen we all connect to it we cry with you or at you whatever you're not going uh where do you need to go mentally what do you do in terms of the space do you have a room you go to in your house when you have to read this up or what you know I I wander around my house talking to myself a bit like a madman but for me you know the writing is so good the writing is so beautiful that I identify with Jack right away and when the cameras are rolling and you know any of our directors are calling action I take a backseat Milo takes a backseat and Jack exists and I'm just living whatever he's experiencing and living what he's living through so it's it's really a beautiful moment as an artist to to not have to worry about pushing through anything and just existing and listening what most important questions of the series has has been how did Jack die and we finally found out how soon into filming did you know oh I knew right away okay in the original pilot script it was revealed that Jack is deceased in the present-day so we do but then of course you know you get into series you need to tease that out a little bit so then it was revealed not by Randall but by Kevin that his father's no longer alive so you know I've always known I've always known but also it didn't impact my performance one bit because you know we we as as people in real life we never know when when you know our lives are gonna end so hopefully we are just living our lives positively and impacting some goodness out in the world and spreading some love and just you know trying to be good people we got to wrap up before you really quickly I saw a video this morning of you surprising fans you were shooting and you saw them watching the show in the house across the street you go and knock on the door they their minds were blown funny I didn't know he was watching because we were filming next door but I saw and I was like I'm just gonna go knock on the guys doing like hey I'm Jack this is our crew so it was fun love it we love it thank you so much for taking some time for us alright and I believe okay by the way this is us can't get enough wait till I got out of earshot before we're going to JD and Roxy we're gonna talk more about Milo while they talk to someone from Star Trek discovery in your dress like an intergalactic Prince custom Tom Ford you said well the actual basis is Tom for this was a designer by one of the films in editorials that had designed it for me personally so it's been great it's customized to be a prince charming for the evening well it's incredible I will what do you like about doing science fiction in terms of the work that you're doing well science fiction is just another way of building up a character that's in in a natural form I guess you learned so much but you also become something that's not natural are you a fan are you a fan of any of the other kind of sci-fi shows that are even nominated tonight I have a few in mind I don't want to put names out there because you know you don't want to have haters but yeah so there's a few that I'm excited about well hopefully all right and who are you a fan of in terms of tonight you know which shows are you binging in terms of like the shows that you're ready for I know you won't say you you know yes Benjen well there's a lot of those is wonderful and I think you know I don't want to push it but there's a lot of beautiful there's a weapony and I'm very happy you guys to be here I'm glad that you were able to stop by and hang out with us today have really a lot of fun inside and we're gonna toss it dating has this changed your idea of the afterlife or do you have any thoughts I think this is fairly if I had to be a gambling man I think it's kind of spot-on I think that our shows about decency it's about there are consequences to our actions and you either put a little bit of good into the world or a little bit of bad and you're countable and I like that who do you think is gonna be held accountable soon when you really look at Hollywood and all the craziness that could happen on a night like tonight who are some names that we have to look out for really you think I'm gonna fall for that I tried I tried you have some dancing shoes on so you might do get some trouble and this dolce gabbana which is absolutely beautiful thank you sir you've both been politically active and you're both you know speaking of accountability are you feeling positive about the direction of the world how do you stay inspired and engaged in a world that's you know confusing and sometimes dark I think you stay hopeful by doing something by taking an action and as long as you're involved and trying to make things better you have ups and downs but you can stay in hope because if you are into fear you don't get things done you really don't and I look at these this generation of kids and the Parkland kids you're still going across the country encouraging people to vote and very inspired by them and I think it's an exciting time to be an American I really do hear and touch by the design or the opposite of the divine we're gonna take that advice and kick it back down the red carpet to Jeremy and rights and women taking control of their own bodies which is very relevant today but additionally I think it's most important because we have women at the top show running our show women created our show we have a lot of women behind the camera directing we have such with 15 women on our show a diverse cast of women and that I think is what makes our show really important right now just the representation I think that's how Betty open was talking about how much she loved body slamming you the very first time I believe and it was like I loved getting body slammed by Betty the very first you're sitting at home watching this stellar stellar performance week after week from her well it's really staggering I think there's nothing that she can't do I've never seen such variety in an actor she has so we're gonna see something every year as long as she lives yeah well when she comes home at the end of filming at the end of a project is there a nice like detox period do you do something special to help her get out of that Ryan Murphy really because she has to study her script for the next day also she's directing yeah she's now directing an episode and she's a natural director oh really yeah she is a natural how do you think when you see her but on the directing had is there something more that you're seeing her get that she'll be able to enlivened by it she's she's energized by it because she has an overview she has that kind of mind where she sees the whole picture I don't I'm very television she's a natural director you watch I cannot wait to see that what is what is the last thing you binge watch of course we're here celebrating TV so many shows one can watch what's the last thing you took in all of you we got binge watch the crown which is the greatest thing I've ever seen on television that's a special series but there's so much to see I hardly know where to turn because every all of my friends are on shows and I say I haven't seen your show yet and they funny because Milo and sterling came by they said the exact opposite they totally were like we're taking this like they're like yeah well I'm the glue that holds it all together okay like honestly the friends are writers for these comedy shows so its variety is so good right now - the quality of work the writing is it is it something you guys would venture into at some point going that kind of Avenue a different kind of brain write to seem it's a it seems like an extremely hard job a lot of them are written like the day of depending on the news cycle you have to be able to change it very quickly right yeah it's hard to think about it because it's much work you know and like we were good at this thing that we're doing so that would be like a whole other skill to do but yeah I love those kinds of shows and they've they've been feeding me so I would interesting to me what is the last show each of you binge watched I just binge watched succession are you watching it the first two episodes I've seen a friend of mine I had to kind of watch it and I was like I'm not sure and then a friend was like keep going and I loved it business family that all this buttons about greed and there you kind of hate them you you really do hate them but it's yeah it's about like the greediest richest family in the country which feels appropriate you know and it was really really well liked it beautiful it's very New York I just my husband maybe binge-watch west world it freaks me out it's like so good and you're in a world but it trips me out since you have to take breaks I was like do you stick together get together after the show is the app the party you know we just we just sort of support each other and like you know cheer each other on from every single place that we see one another and it's just nice to be celebrated and even recognized with all these other cable shows I mean there's so much there's so many rules that we have to kind of write and like we have to write for commercials and we we can't talk about some things and we we only have 42 minutes like there's so many things that we're sort of up against and to be a part of it it's really wonderful we loved drama and the is that's ridiculous first of all she should have a nominee the ages ago because she's a dang talented mental edit but Traci things seem to be getting better for women in Hollywood wouldn't you agree it's particularly with the strength of the me2 movement and all that you and your your I think things are changing and I think they need to and there's always evolution and I think making these kinds of changes take time sadly it seems like what's right should just happen but everybody's growing including including our culture and so there's there's change to be had yeah good you excited about this kind of event these days seeing my friends you know working the way we all do it all seems very glamorous but it's a lot of you know I've got to be up at 6:00 in the morning to go to work in the world yeah so no after parties for you know I'm directing Jessica Lange at 6:00 a.m. so that's the reason to get up I'm a big deal how do you kind of prep for that what's the pregame I go home and I don't go to the Emmy parties even though it's you know kind of lame I'd like to go out and cut a rug but I've got to be responsible she's counting on me no she does not suffer fools I don't think it'd be good if I came up was like I don't know what you should do I'm tired I went to the party yeah what are you looking forward to the most about working with her in that particular way ah probably to be a pure voyeur I've only ever worked with her either been a person watching her in the audience but in the last you know several years I've really worked with her a lot but I've been on her scene partner so although I'm also watching her I'm also thinking about what I have to do in the scene and be able to sit back and just revel in in the in the mastery that she has of her craft is will be really exciting the past two years seem to have been really significant for you you've been working forever but now it seems that the world is really waking up to just how talented and just how stellar you are kudos to you what does that feel like for you to finally be receiving the accolades a recognition it's it's it's extraordinary and also really disconcerting cuz I'm like they know I'm like a goon ball right they don't they don't I don't I think they made a mistake but I'm gonna just try to keep the secret and I keep everything going for as long as I can I don't want them to know this is the the roles that I'm playing right now but absolutely I want to do something fun soon you still keep up with the oranges new black oranges in your black ass or do you watch the show anymore - you're like now too busy for that I just finished partying with them this weekend which cast is actually a lot more fun to party with is it really party with like him like after work we're not like party there's not a handmaids party in the robes and the one of the great stories that you tell is that you when you were trying to go to drama school and trying to do this job you actually it took you a while to figure this out and then you have this enormous success what advice would you give to somebody who is starting out in this business I think that the advice I would give is everyone has to be in touch with exactly what their passions I wake up every morning I can't imagine doing anything else but I know there's some people that don't have that passion and I think that if you don't pay attention to that and feel like you know understand what your passion is but if you are passionate every day passion shows because you already have that Emmy sitting somewhere nicely in your house congratulations mama so great to see you - Marie - nice to see you and we're gonna take it back down the red carpet okay so I'll tell you that basically we just had such a whirlwind there I'm coming down off of itself Sarah Paulson was amazing one thing I'm noticing I was just saying to you off-camera that went with Sarah Paulson with Sandra Oh these women are responding really strongly to being acknowledged in the ways that they are it's it's almost like wow finally the moment has come right and when you can feel that happening even here in this kind of environment that's very you know it's a very Hollywood environment or things propped up the lights are on the cameras there but to have authentic moments like that it shows you how much it means to them doesn't it's true and Jeramy these are women who've been at the top of their game for decades and yet and still they haven't been given this sort of affirmation and acknowledgement they've long deserved it's finally happening for them and you can tell that they truly deeply appreciate it let's talk about other acknowledgement Game of Thrones Jared Hall if you can hear me and if you were there Game of Thrones finally back in the race again this year after having a year off due to the timing of the season and everything else 22 nominations leading the pack Jared I know you cover Game of Thrones a lot at Entertainment Weekly what do you think give me your sense of just how significant it is and how excited fans are and this cast is to be back in the game this year I think just the feeling on the carpet in general we've talked to a lot of people here tonight they were very excited that the show was back Georgia and Martin came through he's like look I got two four six let's maybe make it three four six which I'm sure they would love to have happen it was a very good season is it good enough to beat Handmaid's Tale I don't know our poles are kind of neck and neck on those two so the fans love both of those series it could go either way I think but Game of Thrones of course there's also a lot of anticipation because that final season is up in April so that said a lot of people are you know they they want to keep that that gameofthrones momentum train moving so that could we could see part of that play out here tonight as well and of course an outstanding cast I think we very well could see potentially a winner in the supporting category and yeah they just the storytelling the characters the quality of work the settings the costume like it is one of those shows that is the complete package and that's why people love it so much also you add on to it the the the action the adventure the excitement the fantasy element of it it's kind of got a little bit of everything for everyone so that said oh we got taraji handsome back here a lot of people are certainly excited for Game of Thrones Jeremy okay here we go guys I believe yeah we're here hello turn making your way in last but not least I know really mad though I gotta say there are several people behind me okay we all hit traffic so well we're so glad you're here and we're so glad that you are nominated this evening what's it feel like for you to be acknowledged in this way I mean you've had a cellar 18 months by the way well I have to say it is amazing but when you've made a film like our film the tale which was made as an independent movie and bought by HBO have been such champions of it it means the world because it's a really important subject matter that deals with surviving abuse and abuse of power and so getting the word out means a lot to us so I'm so grateful how do you go about choosing your projects because you're one of those actresses that has such a wide range I can't point to a role and say that's a Laura Dern role I mean you go from big little lives to flying through a galaxy in Star Wars well I have to thank directors you know the filmmakers who somehow envisioned me in very different things than perhaps anything I've ever done before makes me an incredibly lucky act and something my actor parents taught me well about and always trying to invent new stories and you know mix it up dive deep we're out of time you were lovely and we believe in you too and we're so happy that you gave us a couple minutes thank you have a good time in there tonight all right I think we're going down the carpet to JD it looks bright we're here with the amazing and oudh who plays a woman who does her job very well a serious professional who's just trying to give young women a role model and a belief system you know yeah they were and she knows how she's a true believer Lydia which is one of the V do you find points of empathy with her and sympathy with her she's shown herself to have a heart of sorts it speaks through every once in a while yes I I love her you know I I feel protective of her and grateful to her I hope to know her better every time we do a scene because she's a complicated person but I think deep in there is a very good soul doing what she feels is the right thing you know as we all do at Sun on some level she's ill perhaps a little more misguided than the rest of us but I think she feels she's doing the right thing oh you guys on this show on the cast just Wausau after all the heavy material that you have to do daily that's not believe it or not you know it's a very lovely fun set and we're up to no good you know what I mean laughed and laughs we had a few people we Stern them and then we just had a fun time I mean we're not just respectful of the work and we leave it there and where it is and then we go and have a fine time so very fortunate a lot of people don't know that you thought about being a doctor but became an actor and your mother actually said that she wasn't gonna pay for your eyes she didn't realize that you had to pay the whole tuition that she couldn't selectively my pants make mother trying to keep me on the straight and narrow when she said it was the first class I signed up for in college was my acting class and I sort of mentioned it I think she knew she was afraid Oh she'll go in that direction I think she was trying to protect me so she said I'm not paying for acting classes it's my mom it's inclusive it was very sweet thank you so much they're wrapping us right now I know you got to get inside you look absolutely amazing tonight thank you so much we look for you and I think we're going to Jerry Jerrod exactly rich wood from the nominated Westwood West world you are Westwood it's a city and okay yeah exactly west world Dolores this character is such kind of a the bright light of a otherwise kind of so grim despair world what do you love most about playing her her many she's multifaceted you know she can be anything she's fiercely intelligent but she's still so vulnerable and I think she's just it's a different look at a hero you know a hero with flaws a hero with dilemmas a hero with vulnerabilities but you know somebody who was determined to do whatever they can to be free sometimes it's hard to tell if she's the hero or the villain um but I think it just makes for interesting storytelling in a more well-rounded character so it's a pleasure is there a moment or scene specifically that fans talk to you about definitely I imagined a story where I didn't have to be the damsel the moment where she started to rewrite her own story I think that resonated with a lot of people because I think that's how a lot of us feel you know and I think a lot of people are taking taking the power back and taking back control of their lives and their own stories so art reflecting life life reflecting art yes congratulations on your nomination and best of luck here said she watches damn I don't actually I wish I could watch a lot more TV today what's the most adventurous meal you've had and all the seasons of Top Chef when you sat down and you thought what have I just put in my mouth possibly even a mat that nailed down one single meal there's so many crazy places we've eaten so many amazing people who cook for us the talents on our show is really what makes it take this year the Emmys official at the party instead of doing this sit-down they're doing little small plates ordered are you for that or you rather sit down with a plate of food and go for it it remains to be seen I'll let you know I'm gonna be hungry so as long as I get food and I'm worried that the past won't allow me to actually eat a meal but maybe it'll be better I hear there's an amazing potato bar just so you know I'm all about a potato bar no problem one last question that is what is the worst food trend or the thing in food that you can't stand something you know I'm sort of not into like the rainbow everything like putting food dyes into things to make them constructs for social media as opposed to just making them truly delicious and just eating it that's right don't take a picture I mean it's easy I mean food is beautiful food is already totally get that and I want beautiful but make it beautiful naturally not by I don't know filtering a unicorn horn right that's not real it's not something I want to eat don't Instagram your food just put it inside your body do you get do get aggravated with instagramming food or but I also do it I mean we're all guilty well we'll never take another picture of our dinner ever again it's down the red carpet all right I will keep taking pictures of my food I can I just do it's good I likes for you best moments at the gold dragons I want to see what happens with the dragons I know a few months after it's done I'll start missing it but I'm excited to just go back and it's been a long time were you upset that one of the Dragons is now on the wrong side was that an upsetting moment for you I cheered on my couch alone you're in my house you were happy about that I was yeah he's awesome for your route you're rooting for sides a lot of dimensions to explore and I think you'd be good at that the serial killing I feel like you're standing for serial killers the whole conversation is does that creepy weird to me honestly today Westworld coming in with like 21 nominations now here's my take on it it's this powerhouse show that so many people love and okay wait but we're here with the best-dressed man the most nominated person and Emmy history really my friend I used to be holding on tight on producer of one of the most popular shows on television brownish is great also a much decorated nominated actor who may just you know I'm a I'm a I might want to change a Lucy you know it's the fourth year in a row you know I'll go home empty-handed again but you know what it's all about being invited to the good parties that's what they say which one is the party that you're like that you're taking me as your plus four to the one that allows me to go in without the trophy no no no we're gonna hit the town we're gonna go to the Governor's Ball we hit a few other places and just enjoy the night that's what tonight's all about it's such a fun night we get to celebrate the culture get this all right do you feel any certain type of way when you're kind of going up and nominated against friends in the same category no it's just great to be recognized and to be recognized with your with your with your friends and and people that you grew up in the struggle with is just a beautiful thing so you know whether he gets it she gets it I get it we get it we all win one wins we all win that is a lovely sentiment do you ever just feel the opposite all the time the cameras are rolling that's what makes you a gentleman black is gonna continue to keep it real because we've seen the headlines recently I mean is it i is sorry I got I got struck by Penelope Cruz there for a second walking by who's nominated for that happens I'm time to tell ever sought anyway anyway woo you know the crew she looks fantastic and she's so good in the series if you have not seen it we were talking about Westborough though are we yeah it is you know what's interesting that show is the series has so many fans it's one of those shows like see people every night when it's on they're having viewing parties they are talking about theories and when anytime you have something like that that the conversation continues outside of that one hour of watching it that's when you know you've got like something bonafide on your hands and that's what they do week after week the performances the storytelling it's just so intriguing and the mystery and and you're wanting to know like Evan Rachel Wood was telling us is someone who you think is good are they really bad or is it just the opposite and and that is I to me a definition of a really stellar program and and they put out great stuff week after week yeah at Westworld won three Emmys at the creative arts last weekend could be a very big night for them big night for Geoffrey writer Mitchell would Jay Dee and Roxy what do you guys wear as we're about to wrap up here very soon standouts for you highlight moment running after everybody right now is just running after it's been memorable for me and also just getting to share the white-hot light of the Sun yes with this white hot light of the Sun the amazing rock CD is really nice of you it wasn't beneath my Emmy nominations this one oh yeah okay and one day she'll bring one home I know it was a lot of fun seeing Scarlett Johansson walk by all the beautiful looks all the dresses I mean it was just a phenomenal to see all these it was fun to see it's fun to see the people from the really dark scary sad you know grim shows smiling and you never get to see that so that's fun right until you ask them if they
