- 20 minutes ago, there was a stolen GMC Sierra lifted with black rims. So we were actually driving to another call and spotted this. We're going to go ahead and make a traffic stop on it. [police radio chatter] - Correction, so two Frank four. I'm by myself. It's pulling over. We're in front of East [inaudible] Market. [police radio chatter] [sirens] - Hey, don't move. Put your hands on your head. [sirens] - Center two Frank four. I have one at gun point. [sirens] - On your right? - Yeah. - [speaking spanish] - Center two Frank four taken into custody. - See anything there? - Pull the door handle? - Yeah, it's clear, dude. - He says he admits that, you know, no one gave permission and stolen car. He said, yeah. - Yeah. - So I guess the registered owner's on the way right now to come get the vehicle with one of our community service officers. So they can come take back the vehicle. It looks like the vehicle's only been gone for about 25 minutes. - Should I just park? - Is he the registered owner? - Yeah, he's the registered owner. - OK, yeah. - You can pull right here and park. - Yeah, we got him right here in the car. - Do you guys want to take a look I mean just to make sure nothing's missing? - [inaudible] - That way, you know-- in case there's something missing that was there and wasn't there. - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah. Yeah, no worries, man. - So you guys, what, just spotted him? - Yeah, spotted him, so. - Oh, man. - Right here. - Awesome. - Yeah. - We were just getting ready to leave. So he put his keys in there. I mean, we were cleaning up getting ready to go home. And bang, he walked out. He's, like, hey, where's my truck? I was like, [bleep]. - [inaudible] was out here with me. - Saying everything good? - Yeah, I think so. - Yeah? OK. - I was happy with the outcome. You know, I thought, you know-- in my mind at least there was a 50-50 chance that he might run. Suspect's going to be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and driving without a valid California license. And he's going to be booked into Monterey County jail for those two charges.
