With the state of the 30 series cards and stock levels, the biggest thing that indicates something funky is going on... Why did they even have cards in the inventory to list on eBay? Everything is and has been sold out for how long now?
And yet Starlit Partners had inventory to list and MSI didn't know?
Right.
Is it considered scalping if an authorized retailer sells the cards with an outrageous markup?
I dont even give a shit if this is intentional or not, as long as you admit starlink is your subsidiary then MSI need to sort their shit out regardless.
and i have a very fucking hard time believing the refurb department can have access to the hottest stock in their warehouse without anyone supervising notices. Seriously i think anyone who worked at a warehouse will know that it is near impossible unless their supervisors are incompetent.
edit : seriously , for all this to be an accident all these has to happen :
all these steps without anyone noticing thats not what they usually do since they are only "subsidiary for refurbished stock" and speaking up ?
Don't think I'll be buying MSI after this.
Just stop supporting this company. Simple.
I find it very hard to believe it wasn't intentional. With all the pressure they'd be under from Nvidia and retailers I'm sure MSI would have a close eye on their stock and where it's going.
MSI Statement
Fuck MSI. I don't think people who knowingly bought from scalpers deserve to get a refund though.
ah... msi... when Nvidia can't send you enough 3080 chips for your business, you turn around and scalp the consumers on ebay !
it's an Nvidia chip afterall, MSI could be blacklisted pretty fast !
