always moving around together was it what's the relationship here That's my boy that's my boy though for sure I hear he's kind of crazy man crazy maybe too many times you know I ain't crazy I don't know there's two different versions of taste Savage there's the peaceful taste Savage and then there's the the music Tay Savage that's a little different yeah yeah the push and peace taste Savage does not necessarily align with the music say Savage right yeah that's two different people yeah that is which one do you know I know both of them [Laughter] I know both of them man gotcha um all right so let's let's just uh get into it let's let's start from the beginning in terms of the the little Rhys Story come on let's do it um all right so tell us a little bit about where you were born and uh your upbringing I'm from Chicago I'm really from like the kaimed building it's a project that was up across the street from Old block I'm sure they already know that though I said like a hundred times I went to Walter Reed got kicked out of Walter Ridge at kindergarten then I went to Parkman on 51st and Princeton after I went to park my went to school and Circa then I don't remember no more after that I went to high school CVS Lincoln Park [ __ ] like that what was your high school experience like you you're a good kid it was good for a minute then it started getting bad I ain't gonna lie what was getting bad like everything like you couldn't even get on the bus no more and go to school so I had to buy a car bought a car my freshman year what kind of car it was a little bad ass car I paid like two thousand dollars for it yeah yeah this is before you took dju's break no I took his bike on before that though so that's a real story yeah that's a real story his dad used to work in the kai maybe but the one that you brought on the show was fake no that was a real bite that was the bike I found them just kept it in the garage I went in the garage out okay so what was what really started happening once uh they kind of once you like started getting a little bit older and stuff that made it so crazy oh no I mean the real got to getting crazy I mean people got the Dan that she was close with so it's like a lot of got to change for sure who's the first person you lost that uh kind of shook you my homie limo mommy named limo hell yeah right first thing I lost and what was uh what was that like for you as a kid it was crazy I was like 15 I think he was like 16. so oh no that was crazy as hell move from like the Calumet building where are you from now a little more little more was from he was from Circle and then yeah came over top then he was with us for sure so who was the crew at that time when you were in high school or is it like anybody that we're familiar with now um I mean yeah yeah basically yeah like I used to be around back then like that I used to be around Sosa but then you know g money yeah from um no limit he used to be with me and then it should be Fredo I used to be around no limitski all of them same people though what were you guys listen to at that time that's our music the music we was making okay hell yeah so who was the first one to actually start making music damn that's a good question I feel like everybody would start doing it around the same time like when it started getting popping and we started seeing like that what was going on we started doing it all at the same time right who uh so who you guys listening to that like motivated you though that got you excited about music in the first place each other I really was listening to each I was listening to them we won't really like listening to rappers like growing up like because in the rappers that was growing up they weren't like uh age so it's like we won't really listen to them right but you guys didn't weren't you guys Dip set fans I mean because that's what Fredo Santana comes from Santana Oh yeah that's why he was like into Dipset and all lemon type but we knew what it was like we just always hit a music like Jewel Santana Jr writer and all them and Cameron and all I mean we're here but it's like I don't know but Fredo was like really a fan of them like that's why he named his name after like Fredo Santana right he named after at the Juelz Santana Soul Fredo used to really be on that top used to be wearing bandanas he was different though hang on like he was always different right definitely um okay so what were you guys hanging out oh block at that time was that like where you were at like every day like on average sometimes we'll be out there because that's where we grew up in so it was like we always came back with our people right definitely so okay when when did you start realizing that like you guys were gaining hype like just on a local level like before I popped off on YouTube and everything like that like when we got the when we made a song called like Rob kill and then Sosa made a song and I don't know it's just like we was looking at the rules we was doing like 100 000 rules in a day did like that and we ain't never did that so that made us like think like just keep doing keep going that's what he was doing putting out more music and more music International came who came from our hood and introduced us to somebody like over over the labels like the president of the labels like that we took it from that came out to Cali and they never leave social them still living on because you saw your deal before cheeky yeah I came out here before him hell yeah so how was that like so uh the labor just reached out to you because they seen what the impact y'all was having already the one one of the president of the labels was from Chicago so it's like he was watching Chicago that was going on in Chicago and the person who introduced us to him was from Chicago so it was like it was really was a Chicago name the Lego man yeah yeah it was just hype from like a lot of people kind of going on at the same time it was like some Chicago like you know seven is like ah you wanna meet somebody from Chicago that's in a position and then somebody from around your way know the person who in the position it just introduced us to him that's how I took off you know and it was Def Jam right yeah yeah the Dark Side of Def Jam too it was just you no me and they're saying no ID oh yeah yeah no idea at the time definitely is it true like because there's this like picture of you that claims that you're throwing up BD and you're three years old is that real or is that just you making a random hand signal as a kid oh that's real that's real you just had like family members that thought it was funny to get a three-year-old they made me do that I ain't gonna lie I don't know why they made me do that it was the people I was around I was just around some older guys they made me throw a bitty hang on I was young as hell like three years old throwing up Beauty do you approve of that or you think that that's a little out of line to be having a three-year-old doing that I don't know because I ain't gonna let my son do nothing like that though you know so I already did it first kind of normal though she had to stop growing up in a beauty project yeah um they looked at me like I was their son so they ass used to make me shoot dice all types for real when's the first time that they hit the blunt I'm like 10. I don't smoke now so it's like I was like 10 years old when I first started smoking you think that's is that acceptable or is that a little not my mom and them didn't know though like I was sneaking and doing that [ __ ] like running through the projects and [ __ ] getting happy with my luck with my little crew of gas while I was around so how did you even originally meet uh Chief Keef anyway like what y'all where I built our relationship with how sad like like running around this bad ass kids and [ __ ] like my family knows Family type [ __ ] so it's like I always used to see him and [ __ ] like what age is this you think like 10 10 11 and dark around two at this time Fredo let me see Fredo was the afraid it was from 61st in Indiana their cat came from like like from like by dog pound which was like down the street from us oh yeah okay and so once you guys really get popping with the music like how does that kind of begin to change the dynamic like in terms of just you guys being friends or whatever did it kind of have everybody just going in different directions and [ __ ] because everybody's experiencing success what'd you say say it again say it again bro I'm looking at this phone somebody was texting me and [ __ ] no I'm talking once you guys started to really experience success like that did that like immediately start to change things because you guys had just been kicking it on some regular [ __ ] for years and then all of a sudden everybody's getting different opportunities to that like what was that experience like for you as a young guy they ain't saying it's not because everybody like once like say this is like once they see me it motivated Sosa to go get his opportunity quick man like Fredo was like hang on do nothing I'm Gonna Be Independent I want to see what independent being like I want to just see my independent independent feel like and that's what he did [ __ ] but it motivated everybody though really like like I'm with you here today and I see you go get 250 000 250 000. you think I ain't gonna try to do the same thing when I know I can do it she motivated him you saw your deal before y'all dropped I don't like it no I said my deal right after we dropped on that oh I don't like I had one song when I say am I the only one song Sorry where where the [ __ ] I shoot that video at um in this crib in the Hunts the crib we used perspective when you saw them popping off he wasn't even rapping anything like anything trying to think about it I was locked up um but everybody was telling me like bro you should rap you should rap the [ __ ] that [ __ ] was kind of hard though I'm like bro I can't like I got a mission it's easier well just making music in general yeah cause it's like uh we got a million stories to tell but it's pulling his side on Keith was pulling his hat on [ __ ] everybody who was around us was just trying to pull his side on man we was doing it y'all also like at the time because I remember like the famous tasks I always used to think Dan Camp was the website so who was you know yeah that was that was actually chop [ __ ] that was his crew right that was like some [ __ ] he had made up like far as like producers like some [ __ ] he made I really I also had like Bueller it was like Paris Bueller or something yeah that was it all that [ __ ] was like in the same tree like with the same I sent him that and he did it okay I was just about to ask so it wasn't like in studio session no no he'll know hell no he went on in the studio [ __ ] where were you at when you originally recorded like the first uh song I was actually in the hood in my bedroom damn so a lot of those songs he was recording just from the crib yeah for sure hell yeah I recorded that that's from the crib but like traffic and [ __ ] I record that at the studio but us I recorded that in the crib in my bedroom like I had talked to come over and just locked in where's John chop at right now I don't know I've been looking for his ass I ain't gonna lie bro I've been looking all around trying to see where you've been at I don't know sir people been telling me in jail no type of [ __ ] on the way I'ma find out I have to pay all that money to get that that first one that first class when you go and see I see I had to pay all type of money then a [ __ ] ran her cup of the thing there's a lot of [ __ ] going on holes in there fighting a lot of sick ones it's crazy because even at the time like because uh you know cheeky if you have the big hit with uh Wiz Khalifa and 50 Cent yeah he ain't even show it to the music video like when you're pressing him like yo we gotta you know what I'm saying no I'm gonna press on him because he was gonna do what he want to do it's like he probably won't do it [ __ ] that like for the whole crew because that was like you know one of the main guys with you and stuff to lose him it must have been [ __ ] traumatic yes it was tough that [ __ ] [ __ ] a lot of [ __ ] up yeah I remember being like pretty shocked and I I know I'm maybe kind of naive but I think I saw like an image from the funeral that you guys were actually like pouring lean into the casket or whatever I don't know I seen that goofy ass I don't know who was doing that really so you didn't do that no hell no I won't do no goofy [ __ ] like that well I thought the uh Sosa ain't gonna do
