Light Leaks Transition Tutorial in After Effects | No Overlays | No Plugins

in this tutorial I'll show you how to create a simple light leaks transition let's get to it here we are in After Effects I've got two videos on the timeline without a transition so in order to add one I'm going to add an adjustment layer first let's go up to layer new adjustment layer make sure it is above both videos then open effects and presets search for lens flare drag and drop the lens flare onto the adjustment layer then search for gaussian blur and also add it to the adjustment layer then movie time indicator to the point of the cut between the videos and move 10 frames to the left you can move using page up and down keys or just click and drag the time indicator to whatever position you want so 10 seconds to the left then head over to the effect controls panel here click on the lens layer effect to it highlight it and you can see this indicator in the program monitor then click and drag it to the top left corner like this then create a keyframe for flare center flare brightness and blurriness for gaussian blur then press U on a keyboard to see all of the keyframes on the timeline then go ahead and set the flare brightness to zero so that we don't have any flare at the start then go back to the point of the cut between the videos and move 10 frames to the right like this then again make sure the lens flare is highlighted and move the indicator of it to the bottom right corner like this and create another keyframe for flare brightness at zero percent and for the blurriness as well at zero then move to the point of the cut between the videos and start increasing the flare brightness until the image goes completely white something like this 250 should be fine and also set blurriness to something like 12. then drag and select these keyframes right click on any of them keyframe assistant easy so you can press F9 as a shortcut for smoother transition and after doing that we can go ahead and do the preview so here we have a simple light leak transition thank you guys for watching
