Life of a Lineman: The Unsung Hero

you get a cold one they're not a power for a while they're sure glad when their lights come back on I don't fear here oh you're just doing your job Safety's that's a job there's that's the first thing you do I got a wife and three kids to go home to you do that's the only thing you think about when yet I mean you got the job and you think about how to get everything fixed but it's always how to fix it safely we work 24 hours a day seven days a week sometimes and you know you miss your families and just everybody enjoys it so come together and work hard and do what everybody pulls our weight and get the job done whatever whatever it is takes a lot to be alignment takes somebody that's not really scared of hardly anything I mean you got a deal with Heights cold weather hot weather being strong willed not being afraid to work I'm afraid to put in the hours to get things done not being afraid to go out in any weather possible we do need to get out in such snowstorm you don't even know where you're at yeah I remember one outage the frost is so thick on our transmission line that it was dang near touching the ground and it wasn't a law we could do we tried hitting all the frost off the lines and we worked on that thing for two or three days straight and just trying to get it back on you know a lot of our system is there's no roads there there's no trails there so it's a lot of back-breaking work you know we're rarely ever doing the same thing two days in row I enjoy being outside every day and you know keep the lights on for people every day is different you don't have the same day you don't have a typical day one day you could come in and actually just go on the job you're scheduled for the next day you're running outages all day you could be in the dirt and underground be in the air working on the transmission the next day you don't have a typical day all of our guys are super educated we all got good heads on their shoulders great bunch of guys to work with everybody knows what they're doing we love the job so it's really good time everybody has to get along if you can't get along because you got to watch your back all the time I mean there's so much dangerous thing that can happen out there and it just you pretty much save each other's life every single day every time you work together just Oh watch out for that watch out for this hey watch your back you know you're always watching out for the guys days like today make up for all the cold math days and a lot of work all of us enjoy what we do and would be doing anything else
